The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Disgraceful. That was the word that came to mind when Meld thought of the newscast she had seen only hours before. Or at least, that was the most politically correct word that came to mind when thinking of that newscast. Abominable, horrorible in insufferable were other words taht came to mind. No matter the exact words used, however, the fact was that the people who had engaged in such evil acts, and yes the acts were indeed evil, needed to suffer and more than suffer, they needed to die. Preferably, they needed to die as horribly and violently as possible and since no one else was likely to do it, it was up to her.
Meld had known about the Pure Human Coalition for some time and it wasn't a surprise that she needed to finally act against them. For months they had been spewing their hatred at anyone who would bother to listen and Meld had been planning to do something about it for some time. What was surprising, in the worst way imaginable, was just how far they were willing to go in their quest to eliminate mutants. They had degenerated to killing babies; defenceless mutant babies. She had seen it on the news, reports of the third PHC baby killing. The worst part was that they weren't even ashamaed of the act, having come on television to discuss their ongoing efforts to keep thier organization "pure" It was both disgusting and infuriating and she couldn't let such humans live for another moment.
Cafas had been with Meld when the newscast had first come on and witnessed her angry swearing at the television. Anyone who had seen her at that moment would have known that she was death and that where she walked death would follow in her wake. If they were smart they'd either help or stay out of her way. If anyone tried to stop her, well, simply spoken she wouldn't allow them to. Human or mutant, they woudln't stand in her way, not this time. And if they were willing to help, they had better ensure their use because she wasn't about to coddle or protect the useless either.
The first thing Meld did upon leaving the room was call Aura. She knew of no one else who was half as reliable in a fight as Aura was, nor anyone else willing to go just as far as she was in order to further the mutant cause. If anyone was going to help her, it was Aura and she knew that this wasn't something she would be able to accomplish on her own. Humans might be stupid and weak, but they were also numerous and an organization like the PHC was likely to have a good deal of protection against just such a threat as they would pose. And a speech like they one they had just made on live tv almost seemed like they were daring mutants to come and do something about them. Well, they were about to get far more than they bargained for.
Meld stood outside of the Mansion grounds waiting for Aura to show up. She had informed Cafas that he was welcome to join her if he could make himself useful, and anyone else who was around also. She doubted many of the weak minded individuals of the Mansion would be able to stomach her brand of justice, however, and she wasn't willing to accept weaklings. Every single one of them would have to die. That was the only punishment suited to the crime of killing innocent mutant babies. They would die and they would die horribly. Meld grinned to herself, a dark and twisted grin, filled with the anticipation of the bloodshed soon to come.
Cafas stepped out the mansion gates after Meld. He would go with her on her barbaric quest, even if it was to simply to avoid her unleashing a massacre. What had been done was sick, but as with any cult there would be people born into it who don't believe the teachings but are too scared to speak up. From his belt on the left hung his leaf blade, It hung with its sheath, leather, chainmail reinforced inside. His left arm was graced with his shield, which had needed a lot of de-denting after the Cthulhu event. They made him feel more comfortable. Plus, there were people who needed to feel them in that compound. Even if he didn't support killing he could potentially simply restrain people. If killing happened by his hand, he had at least tried. Well that’s what he was telling himself to justify it. In truth he was mad. They had killed children after all.
'Bastards.'
He stepped up next to his largely metal... Well, he supposed friend. He turned to her and laughed "A buck says this is going to get more complicated than it seems to be right now. I reckon they'll call the cops, cowards, calling on others to fight their fight." He wouldn't kill a cop. That completely violated his moral code. After all those cops had done nothing wrong in any way. They were just doing their job. He in fact wouldn't kill anyone he could avoid doing so to. Yes, his job was to avoid complete chaos. Even if he had to fight an ally. They would not be an ally if innocent blood was shed.
'Kill only if all else fails. Self defence is the only reason to use lethal force.'
He wondered who they were waiting on. He just waited. He had forsaken his usual dress code for something much less suited for the situation. Yes he was having a joke with himself. He wore a bussiness suit. It wasn't technically legally acquired, but then again, nothing of his really was. Hey, he’d saved the city, it was fair payment. He also wore his usual sunglasses and boots, and under the suit he wore some more normal clothing, a tee-shirt and three quarter length cargo pants. He got himself some raised eyebrows out of car windows as they went past. Yes, he likely deserved those. After all, how often did you see a well dressed person carrying a sword and shield. Not often.
Aura had never heard of the cult before but still their tactics were human enough for her and the idea they were hurting the weakest among them babies, made her very angry. To Aura killing a mutant in general was wrong, but a child was unforgivable, even she tried her best to keep from killing children. This was different though, this was targeting them, not an accident like the one she had several nights prior. FLexing her hand Aura knew this night would be enjoyable, she just had one of those feelings.
So when Meld had called, Aura had wasted no time preparing for what she knew in her heart would be a wonderful battle. She was planning to make an example out of these filthy humans. With a smile the youth called forth her Aura and began changing it into various weapons. Aura was worried about the meeting location though, near the mansion. She had a feeling she lacked popularity there, as she not only had an extensive record these days but had played a bit to roughly with some of the mansion residents.
Navigating through the alleyways, she made sure to stay hidden and even neglected to kill an old beggar she had passed a few times in the last hour. Aura had wanted to make sure the mansion had no surprises intended for her. She trusted meld with her life, but people could fake voices or make people do things against their will. Assured nothing was out of the ordinary, Aura made her appearance, a pair of bone daggers the sides of her legs in small belted sheaths,a a pair of pistols at her hips and 2 small cannisters in between.. She wore a simple form fitting white t-shirt that had the words, girl power written in pink on it and a knee length skirt.
"Hey Meld, and friend" she said her eyes drifting to cafas questioningly, then turning back to Meld. "it seems the humans need to be taught their place" she said her anger evident in her voice. Aura bore a fierce look in her eyes and face, she was ready to fight and to kill as many humans as she could. "So are we waiting for any other party guests or can we say hello to the road kill?" she said giving her opinion of the humans in a single lovely word.

It took a rare strong force of effort for Meld to suppress her anger at the situation enough for her to see things clearly and she knew that this particular impending battle, more than most, would require clarity of thought. She wouldn't be able to just just bust in there guns blazing, so to speak, and kill everything that moved. No, they were likely to be prepared for something and likely to be armed to the teeth and that meant a certain amount of patience and planning would be required. By the time Cafas and Aura arrived, however, she had managed to regain her clarity by suppressing every ounce of emotion she had. She viewed the situation with a cold, almost machine-like dispassion. The anger was still there, fueling her actions and her motivation, but it was a cold distant anger instead of a hot anger. Patience was something she had plenty of, when needed.
"A buck says this is going to get more complicated than it seems to be right now. I reckon they'll call the cops, cowards, calling on others to fight their fight."
Meld nodded in Cafas' direction as he made his entrance. Did he even know what he was getting himself into? Did he realize that neither she nor Aura were prepared to leave any of the offenders alive? The children, if possible, she would spare and perhaps a few of the women to take care of the children. Everyone else would die. "I wouldn't be surprised to see cops," Meld agreed, her voice cold and dead. "I've dealt with cops before and they aren't as frightening as they appear. I'll ask you this only once Cafas, but are you prepared to do what's needed? Are you prepared to kill and if you aren't, are you prepared to allow Aura and myself to do the killing?" She could accept if he wasn't willing to kill, what she couldn't accept was him preventing her from killing. If he was going to be more of a hindrance than a help then they would leave without him.
"Hey Meld, and friend. It seems the humans need to be taught their place"
"Good to see you again, Aura. Its been too long. Alchemist, this is Aura, Aura this is Alchemist." Introductions made, she got immediately down to business. "There's a vehicle not far from here that should be easy to break into." She'd scoped it out just before the others had arrived. "We'll take that to the compound. Once there, its probably best if we get in quietly, take them by surprise. Hopefully they'll be a window or something on an upper level that won't be as well protected. Alchemist, if you can't scale walls you can ride on my back. Once inside, quieter deaths are better than noisy ones. As much as I'd love to make them suffer for their crimes, we can't afford to get found out early on. We leave the children alive and, provided they don't attack us, 2 or 3 of the women to take care of the children. Everyone else dies. If all goes well, it should be relatively simple. Any questions or suggestions?"
Cafas looked to Meld with a look of blatant 'Don't give me that cr*p I'm not an idiot'. He was playing the tough guy role. He had to. The question was fashioned in such a way as to indicate that. He had to be there to stop the murders if it got out of hand. It had that potential after all. "I know what I'm getting into. I'm ready to kill who needs killing and leave you to your business. I won't fight alongside a hypocrite though. No children die while I'm there." He wasn't unfriendly in his tone, just matter of fact. He was trying to distance himself from coming events; he couldn't have emotion about it. He wasn't really good at hiding his emotions though, so it was likely it showed slightly. Cafas looked up as footsteps approached. He saw the girl before she spoke, feeling rather tall next to the company around him.
'This must be Aura. What a mystery her power is.'
Cafas nodded in return when she greeted them. His expression didn't change from the nuetral, detached look his features had taken on when they were introduced. After their short tactical briefing Cafas yawned and raised a hand, just to grab attention. "When all hell does break loose, what's the plan? As for the getaway, I'd personally like my police record kept clean, you got a plan there?", He hoped he wasn't being dense, but you never knew. He decided to go ahead and voice something else why they were all there. It wasn't much, but it was important to him, "I dibs driving." He smiled and went back to his own little pre battle detachment ritual. He tried to ignore the whole taking lives thing. he straightened out his jacket a little and rested his hand on the pommel of his sword, his shield being allowed to hang using only the leather arm band. His right hand was flexing and unflexing repeatedly. He didn't notice, it wasn't a conscious movement.
She took a good look at meld and her eyes looked right at the tails, she looked it over approvingly, almost jealous she could not have one herself. "my friend, i love the look of that tail, you get more beautiful with each passing glimpse i get of you" she said with a smile. She truly did find Melds enhancements to be gorgeous. Visible deadliness was always a plus in her book. Her anger barely contained under her voice, not at meld of Alchemist but at the situation. Closing her eyes for a moment she formed her aura around her pinky finger then slowly let it fade and reappear on the next finger untill it had passed all the way to her other pinky. "The situation is disturbing, no child should die, Mutants are needed to help us expand and animals are needed to hunt" she said referring to humans quite clearly in the word animals.
"A stealth mission, is a good plan, i'll just have to kill them quickly then" she said with a smile. She had no trouble with stealth or a straight brawl, but Meld was in charge here in her mind, and so she would treat her words as her orders. Looking back to Meld she recalled something else. "After this mission, i have need of your skill in the forge" she said trying to relax her own nerves. Aura was not normaley nervous about much. But her anger bothered her, on the feild of battle one had to keep a clear mind, you could have fun or be scared but always second to the fight. "A sword" she said to clarify as they moved along to their transportation.
Aura looked at Alchemist when he mentioned his record, and looked to meld. "Is he really up to this?" she asked. SHe trusted Meld's judgment and knew she could be trusted on the battlefield, but Alchemist was a wild card, someone she did not know. So had david and in actual combat he had been limited is usefulness. "Well, with my record, cops tend to just shoot, on the bright side though, cops can't report much hanging from their entrails. " she said casually stretching her arms. "I can't drive anyway" she said not really caring who drove. She looked upon the vehicle they would be taking and waited for the others.

"I know what I'm getting into. I'm ready to kill who needs killing and leave you to your business. I won't fight alongside a hypocrite though. No children die while I'm there."
Meld nodded her ascent. As long as Cafas was willing to do what was needed and as long as he wasn't going to stand in the way of her and Aura doing what they needed to do, that was all she needed to know and she wasn't about to question him again. As for his prohibition against killing children, it was a prohibition she herself had as well. Would she kill a child should it prove necessesary for her own survival or the survival of those fighting by her side? Probably. But she wouldn't for any other reason. Nor would she torture a child unless it proved to be absolutely necessary and even then she knew that such an act would haunt her for the remainder of her years. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that though.
"When all hell does break loose, what's the plan? As for the getaway, I'd personally like my police record kept clean, you got a plan there?"
"If all hell breaks loose, then we deal with it. Aura and I have dealt with hell before we can hold our own. If you're coming with us, I have to assume that you can do the same. If you're worried about police involvement, then are you sure that this is where you want to be just now?" It needed to be asked. Meld wasn't about to have someone fighting by her side that was preoccupied with other concerns. This mission was going to be difficult enough as it was, without having to worry about whether or not her allies were properly concentrating on the task at hand: mainly the elimination of the mutant baby killers and their own survival. "I have no problem with you driving."
"my friend, i love the look of that tail, you get more beautiful with each passing glimpse i get of you. The situation is disturbing, no child should die, Mutants are needed to help us expand and animals are needed to hunt"
"Thank you, my friend," Meld acknowledged the compliment. So few appreciated what she did to herself. At best they were mildly disturbed, at worst they were terrified but she could always count on Aura to appreciate what she was trying to accomplish. "We'll do everything we can to ensure the survival of the children. They are the innocents, they still have a chance to reform their ways and overcome the lies of their parents."
"A stealth mission, is a good plan, i'll just have to kill them quickly then. After this mission, i have need of your skill in the forge. A sword." \
"Of course I'll help you," Meld agreed without hesitation. It would be an interesting project, but a project to be considered only after thier current mission was successfully completed.
"Is he really up to this? Well, with my record, cops tend to just shoot, on the bright side though, cops can't report much hanging from their entrails. I can't drive anyway"
"He's up to this," Meld replied, hoping she was right about her assessment of Cafas. If not, at the end of this, he would have to be dealt with. Everything seemingly worked out, Meld began walking towards the vehicle she had in mind. She had experience breaking into vehicles. She wasn't the greatest, it was true, but the car she had in mind was old and didn't have much security. It shouldn't take long and it shouldn't be terribly difficult.
Cafas looked at Meld again. The more he was questioned, the less he liked his chances. However he felt that perhaps colder weather would serve him well for once, however, in the meantime, talking. "Oh good, shooting I can handle... I find I'm rather unaffected by bullets." It was good to hear that they wouldn't really be looking at him; it helped him a great deal. As for Meld's assessment of the situation, well, only time would tell. Cafas looked to the girl, Aura. He had a nagging feeling that he had heard something of her before. He dismissed it, after all, her record apparently called for kill on sight tactics. The news therefore seemed like a likely candidate. He didn't watch it often, but just often enough. However, he spoke. "Depending on circumstances I could offer my services as a blacksmith." He indicated to his sword and shield to emphasise the point.
'No need for a forge then either. Actually, if they have a solid piece of metal long enough, no need for anything...'
Alchemist hadn't driven in a good long while, but from the look of the car it was an old automatic. That should make it easier, although after seeing New York he wondered why anyone would drive. He approached the driver's side door. He was unsure as to who they thought would break in. He put a finger to the metal of the lock and assumed the locking mechanism was fairly basic. He vaporised the entire mechanism for his door, just to be safe. When he lifted the handle the door popped open. He smiled at Meld. "Piece of cake. Can't do that with modern ones, all the electronics, there's so much wire that the other doors are out of range, it's ridiculous." he took off his shield and removed his sword, sheath and all, from his belt, tossing them onto the back seat haphazardly. They came to rest laying on the driver's side.
'This ought to be good.'
C.J. ducked into the vehicle and balked. He couldn't hot wire a car. Well, that sure chucked a spanner in his works. He reached over and unlocked the other doors, then jumped out. "Getting in I can do, but I've never hotwired a car in my life. Someone's gotta get this thing started.' He was sincerely hopeful that one of the other two could hotwire the piece of junk. He then thought about meld and rephrased his hoping. That one of them cold instruct him how if they couldn't themselves. It wasn't his field.
"I want to be able to take away from the impacts that would hit my aura, the less damage my shield takes in the dance, the longer i can be of use. I Know meld's work as i have tested my own weapons against it, though another dance may be fun. As for you Alchemist, i will consider your proposal as well, however at some point i would like to see a display of what your work can do, i mean no ill of your skill, however i will be trusting such a weapon as i would my hand" she said interested in cafas's offer and if he was any good maybe he could work with Meld on the weapon or design one as well, either way, the bone would have to be able to cleave through bone, on a frequent basis Aura thought to herself though she did not feel it the time to carry the issue further. SHe would buy or acquire whatever material was needed. She had no idea what it would cost, but what was a few more animals if she needed more?
"good because if we have to dance, being able to depend on him, the job with david worked becuse he killed the security, but i get the odd feeling were in for one wild night" she said with a grin and tried to open the door it was locked, So Aura called out to her power, and her hand flared with pink, emergeing from her skin and growing deeper, pointing a finger the aura formed a knife and Aura jammed it around the lock, and carved quickly around the lock, as she finished she pulled the lock out with her aura and let it drop to the ground, the door know opening, she slipped in back.
She looked at cafa's blade admiring it and the quality of work, trying to see if he would be suitable, then looked up slightly as he mentioned someone needing to start it."I have no idea' how these things work, i know they stop if you jam a blade in the middle of the front though" she added realizing despite her lack of car knowledge her skills here were useless. Aura walked every ware and as such, had never had a need to learn to hot wire anything.
Aura was excited about the prospect of the dance however she was also a bit angry at why they had to go, she wanted to make them pay, to wipe the floor with their entrails. "With any luck it will turn out like KP meld, without the massive drug trip" she said recalling the fight then what happoned to meld. Meld had beed a beauitful engine of destruction but in it she lost herself, as Aura had in her dream, though she had fought to save it aura was glad haywire was gone.

For a time Meld observed as, first Cafas unlocked one of the locks with his power and then Aura unlocked another in a slightly less subtle way. If either of them had proven incapable of doing so she would have gotten inside the vehicle in her own unique way, but at least the first part of the plan was executed. Unfortunately it would also likely prove to be the simplest part. "No need to worry Cafas, I have some experience hotwiring a car." She coudln't hide the growing anticipation in her voice. Even with her emotions all but completely suppressed, she wasn't able to suppress her anticipation at the slaughter and vengeance to come. With Garrett's touch she was able to feel, at least temporarily, but at all other times the only ability to feel that she had access to was feeling the rightful deaths of her victims. Oh what a monster she was but, right at that moment, she didn't really care. She was what she had to be and for now she had to be the monster. There would be time for regrets, if such things were necessary, later. Much later.
Meld waited for Cafas to step out of her way and entered the vehicle, bending down in order to gain access to the wires that were necessary to manipulate in order to start up the vehicle. It proved to be somewhat more difficult than it had been in the past, extra care needing to be taken in order to ensure that her claws did no accidental damage to fragile wires, but within a few minutes the car was purring. Well, perhaps purring was a bit of an exageration given the age of the vehicle, but at least it was running. "And we have our ride," she said, stepping away from the vehicle, a self satisfied expression on her face.
"Cafas, here, has some unique talents that making forging rather effective," Meld informed Aura, stepping into the vehicle. "And wild night might be a bit of an understatement." She grinned at Aura knowing that, even if Cafas wasn't able to understand her anticipation, Aura most certainly would. They had fought many a battle against the worst sort of humans together and this battle was likely to be the most glorious yet. The thrill of battle, the blood and pain, the glorious dance of death. Those were the things that the both of them lived for, those were the things that tied them together. Those things and the mutant cause and all of the above would be encountered on this night. "We will be rightful vengeance for those who were unable to protect themselves. We will show them why mutants must be respected and feared." Oh, glorious battle. It had been far too long and her demon demanded to be unleashed.
Cafas was ignoring most of the banter. He caught his name a couple of times. He stood aside as instructed, nodded where appropriate to indicate that he understood but mostly tried to remember what little he knew about the human anatomy and killing painlessly. Sure people needed to be taught a lesson, but they were embarking on a massacre, no need to have it take longer than necessary, or cause more suffering than the knowledge of one's very own cessation of existence. That and stealth meant no screams. He liked that. It was his first human life to be taken that day, he didn't need to listen to tortured screams. Some more silence was observed by the metal manipulator as he braced himself for what was about to happen. Not the killing, the New York traffic. it was hard enough to walk through the city, let alone drive.
'Bloody mess, that's what the traffic here is.'
As the car started up he stepped in, shifting the seat back to accommodate his rather lengthy body. He perked up with a largely irrelevant linguistic comment. "Nicely integrated movie reference. Also fitting for the mutant cause, the few powerful soldiers against the many peons." He was genuinely distanced from the situation enough to bring academics into conversation. That was good for him. He put a foot on the brake and pressed it down before putting the car into drive. Alchemist opened the glove box for a moment to check for anything useful, like money. He came out with a balaclava. He took it out and put it in his lap. He'd be warm and anonymous, which was good when one had pink hair.
'Also for when a wall falls down. That's how all battle scenes work, I'm fairly sure.'
Cafas wound down a window, flipped an indicator and pulled out into traffic to the graceful sounds of blaring horns and angry New Yorkers, who received a rather rude gesture out the window in a reflexive manner. He enjoyed driving, it was therapeutic, all the swearing, horn blaring and gesturing, he found it cleared his system. Well, it had done. It struck him he had no idea about directions. "Where am I heading?"
"I see, then i look forward to seeing the craftsman ship" she said back to meld. Meld's word was all she needed to put faith into Alchemists abilities. This helped as well, the sooner she could obtain the blade the sooner she could wield and train with it. The blade would increase her usefulness which was her entire interest in the weapon, and she figured it would be easy to wield as she made swords all the time, same basic idea, she thought to herself as she formed a quick knife like blade on her hand and then let it melt back into her aura and then let the aura fade as well. She was more excited then anything, the idea of the situation though desturbing also let them prove a point to the humans, that their reign was over on earth and mutants now held the power.
"Let's just hope this ends differently then that movie" she responded back to cafas. She had seen the movie, one of the few she had actually. A few solders defended a pass against a vast army, they died, but they died in battile and took many with them. She hoped to fall the same way one day, but the longer she stayed alive, the longer she could bring pain to the humans. She let her aura appear around her finger again then made it travel finger to finger, from one hand to the other.
"almost to bad predators going miss out on the dance" she said thinking of their friend. She had tried to get him as well but had been unable to reach him. flexing her hand she formed a quick blade from her hand and carved a circle into the seat becide her, careful not to touch the blade. Aura was also glad this would be outside at least she thought it would be, she recalled her and meld's last fight in a house. SHe really hated buildings falling on her. Though the last oen had been better then the first. "Theirs suppose to be some kind of mutant peaceful counter-protesters right?" she asked arching an eyebrow.

Meld took the front passanger seat, beside Cafas, so as to better give him directions on where they were going. It was probably best that he drive anyway, given the fact that she didn't technically have her liscence and he was probably more inclined to follow the proper rules of the road. There just didnt' seem much point, in her mind, given that they were going on a mission that ended in the massacre of numerous human scum. What was a speeding ticket when compared to the crime of murder? And for that matter, what self-preserving cop would bother to force a speeding ticket on someone who was a known mass murderer, suspected mutant terrorist and covered with lethal blades?
Meld felt no sense of horror at what was to come nor, for the moment anyway, what she had done in the past. In the future, perhaps, when the lust for blood and vengeance wasn't rushing through her veins and when she was capable of feeling more than joy at the prospect of the deaths to come. A great evil had been done in the murder of innocent mutant children and the only way to avenge that evil was to kill the killers. It could never be truly righted, there was no way to turn back the hands of time and bring those poor souls back to life but at least there would be justice. Perhaps causing their deaths made Meld just as bad, just as evil, but the act needed to be done and her soul was all ready so scarred and blackened that one more death or a dozen would make no difference.
"I do miss Predator," Meld agreed. "This would have been just his type of mission." She had no idea what had happened to him. Perhaps the cops had finally gotten him, such a shame that would be. He was a credit to the mutant cause. "If there are mutants there protecting the humans than those mutants are traitors and if they stand in our way they will write their own fates." It would be a shame to have to kill them, they were mutants after all, but she wasn't about to allow anyone, mutant or not, stand in the way of the vengeance they would meet out this day. If possible she would have the mutants live. If possible.
"Stop here," Meld directed Cafas to park the car. "We walk the remaining block. Less conspicous that way."
Cafas pulled over to the side of the road, blatantly cutting off someone else aimed for the same spot. There was some serious braking required of him to stop in time but he made it without crashing. He didn't like the fact that his avenue of escape was so far away but he supposed it would have to do. Grabbing the balaclava he pulled it onto his head with the base rolled up so it looked like a beanie. Of course a beanie with a suit looked ridiculous but he defied anyone to name an outfit that a beanie didn't look stupid with and rested his case to the cosmos. Opening the door he could see pretty clearly where they were going. It was the place with the reporters he assumed. Well, they'd get something to report on that was for sure. Cafas hoped they'd be going in through the back. Reporters never found the back entrance. Perhaps they had a phobia?
'A phobia of logical conclusions wouldn't be totally surprising now would it?'
The car door closed with a bang next to him. He opened the back driver side door to extract his equipment. Taking off his jacket he wrapped it around the sword and tucked it under his arm. In the cold, the jacket would be going back on ASAP, but for now it was needed. The others were highly conspicuous but he at least had some constructive input in this scenario. "If we go in through the back or side like I assume we're going to, and we don't want to raise any alarms before absolutely necessary I think we'll need to split up momentarily. Aura, cover your exposed weapons as best you can. Meld, if you go around the block the other direction, doesn't even need to be the whole way, just through an alley and we'll all meet at the rendezvous. Aura, I don't know if you cover all weapons you're fine to just walk straight there. I'll cross the road and go around the block with the facility on it, behind the cameras." He didn't wait for them to protest. Alchemist grabbed his shield out of the car, ripped off a sticker from the car seats that looked close enough to a postage address sticker, stuck it to the metal, displaying that side as he tucked that under his other arm.
'Just deliverin' a package.'
Closing the door he crossed the street at a light jog and proceeded to walk briskly down the block, behind the reporters and news cameras, all giving their separate stories. C.J. reached the next corner and went turned down it. It wasn't as much of a main road as the previous one if traffic levels were any indicator. Almost no-one on that street. He turned the last corner down the back of the block, or at least the alley that divided the block in half, the facility to be infiltrated on one side, the respectable normal human beings on the other. He slipped back into his jacket, ripped the sticker off his shield, strapped it on, hooked the sheath to his belt again and rolled the balaclava down. It was go time.
'Hope they listened. If not I'm just gonna look like a jackass. Well, more so.'
"Agreed, any perceived hindrance to us shall be met with lethal force..... other then the kids and those few mothers of course" She said in response to Meld informing them that mutants who assisted the humans were no better. Aura agreed usually lumping in such people with video game stereotypes which seemed to work wonders here. Aura viewed titels like hero and villain not so much as good and evil but as philosophy's for life. Stick man and Army guy had been both great fighters despite each holding true to her label as hero's. On the other side of the stick, she did see herself as what was portrayed to be a villian from her actions, heros defended even those who would kill them and villians like their group killed people to get their way. Their were many people who were inbetween the two of course, but still these labels had served her well in more then one fight.
Aura stood as she got out of the car stretching her arms a bit as they moved. She wanted to be nice and ready for the upcoming fight. She checked her various non-aura weapons over, she had felt this battle would likely end up as a mini-war and so she had prepared for that. She had no worries that the situation could well lead to all of their deaths, no Aura was no fool, she never expected to live through the war to defeat humanity. Still if she did go down she hoped it was doing something exactly like this, defending her people. Front line fighters useually did have short lifes but that was fine, the kids, their future was why they were fighting. The children had to be protected so that their future wold continue on and that was a goal mutants had to keep on their own, no human could understand what they had to do, humans did not even recall how they learned to dominate the planet at all or so Aura believed.
Aura covered her weapons, taking a strip of cloth from the cars back seat she quickly caused a less then seemly wrap that his the weapons though made her stick out anyway. Not that Aura cared much, she was half tempted to start stabbing reporters, she could almost see their vital organs through their crisp suits. Aura Wrapped her Face with the same odd material to hide her very reconcilable face as well. Orders were Orders however and Meld had said this was a stealth mission. Aura simply followed the commands she was given and somehow got to their rendezvous point with no icident sropping the inprovised headware as soon as she could, a light pink outline already covering her body.
