The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Cafas' curt and professional directions surprised Meld and that surprise was, unusually enough, a posative one. Not only had she been somewhat doubtful about his committment to their current cause, getting the impression that he was there more to make sure that they didn't go too far than for any real passion for the cause, but she had also been unaware that he was capable of taking such a lead. It seemed she had underestimated the man but such an underestimantion would not happen twice. Since his directions made sence and would have been similar to the ones Meld herself would have made herself, she nodded curtly, first in his direction then in Aura's direction. Meld knew that Aura would follow her whatever her commands, Aura was a friend and just as passionate about the mutant cause as she was, but wasn't so sure she would follow Cafas. The nod was her permission to do so, at least in this one instance.
Meld walked into the alleyway that led to the complex, seeking a way onto the rooftops. The houses in the area were mostly close together, close enough, at least, to jump from rooftop to rooftop. There was no way for her to hide her own weapons, they were as much a part of her as her arms and legs, thus she decided that the best way to remain unseen was to navigate in such a way as to dissuade people from looking at her. People rarely looked up unless given a reason to do so and Meld was adept enough at moving silently that she knew she wouldn't give them a reason to do so. The dark night also worked in her favour.
Meld scaled the wall of a nearby building with relative ease. Buildings were not built to keep those with claws from ascending their walls and her claws left little indentations between the bricks of the building. Once on top she began running and jumping from one rooftop to the other. Every few moments she blinked her tail eye in order to gain a 360 degree perspective of what was going on around her. So far, at least, everything remained quiet. She halted her mad dash on top of the building just before her destination, awaiting the arrival of her two allies. Getting to the building was the easy part. Getting inside would, hopefully, be just as easy. The hard part would be once they were inside and the killing started, but that would also be the fun part. What was the point if there was no challenge?
Cafas looked up and down the building. In its favour it had metal drainage pipes on the outside of it. He could use those. Some buildings used plastic ones. Plastic was such a versatile material, it was ruining his ability to use his own powers. He saw a girl swathed in a light pink outline, and further up he thought he could see the glint of metal. The whole night aspect made it difficult to tell. He approached his pink ally. "Mutant with the most kills at the end of this wins bragging rights." The metal manipulator approached the building and grabbed two fist fulls of metal, sticking one to the wall as high as he could reach, then jumping to stick himself higher with the next one.
'Spidercafas, spidercafas, does whatever a spidercafas does.'
He planted his feet as best he could, and, removing one hand he lunged a little higher, making almost a torso length up before he fused to the brickwork again. He would have climbed it easier but there were no available ledges, but for the window he was aiming for, which seemed to be rather heavily secured for a peaceful protest group. The cracks between the bricks where they were mortared together were also of no use to him. He continued to climb up to the window using his method, where he advanced so that his feet could stand on one set of the bars on the window. He stood what seemed like an enormous distance off the ground, but in truth it probably wasn't that high up. He fashioned a crude spike from the metal he had used to climb up the wall, it's surface glowed again momentarily as it melted then reset and was dull once more.
'The traces of molten metal up the wall won’t be too much of a tip off as to my identity will it?'
"bragging is pointless, just try and survive the day" she said shaking her head a bit at this guy Meld had found. She wondered if he understood his position, or even knew that Aura would kill him at a word from meld who she considered to be leading the mission. Regardless they now had to enter the building and cafas seemed to have idea on how to do that, but Aura was simply going to try opening the door, she did and it was locked, her Aura forming a sword her blade cut into the rather thick metal door, but only made it partly threw, so she cut the lock from the door letting it drop to the ground before her.
Pushing the Door open Aura moved in quickly, looking for any guards or the like, however as it turned out, no one was guarding the storage shed and all that was in it were some wire, a box of medical supplies and a box of depends for adults. Backing away from the Shed she also saw the emergency generator for the building. She could hear the protesters easily and some of the words and slogans she was hearing very much made her want to jump down there and begin wholesale slaughter of the demonstrators.
She resisted an urge to go and look at them as she figured she might jump down, instead she found the actual door entrance and opened the handle, the unlocked door lead to a small staircase. Aura expanded her aura as much as she could and made the bottom as quickly as she could, but no one seemed to be in the room. Walking to the middle she went back to the stairs and called back the room was empty. She could hear people in the rooms all around them though. their were two doors in the room, one on the far side with a small window out to a hallway or a simmeler door, to the left that said the name of whoever office it was, aura did not bother to read the name on it

It took very little time for Cafas to appear by Meld's side and, shortly thereafter for Aura to appear as well. Better yet, it appeared as if Aura, bless her competance and experience, had managed to find them an easy way in through a storage shed. It was just one less thing for her to worry about in the desire for their operation to go smoothly. She nodded towards Cafas beside her and then jumped down from the roof, to join Aura below. The impact of the single story jump was taken entirely by her metal feet and she landed smoothly with no harm done. It was just another among many proofs that mutants were superior to humans.
Having heard Aura's call that the room she had entered was currently empty, Meld made her way inside, trusting that Cafas as well would follow beind her. The room contained two doors and muffled voices could be heard coming through the walls and the roof. The door leading to the office seemed the best place to begin and Meld turned her attention to that room. She raised her tail over her head in order to get a clearer view through the window of whatever lay within without having any inhabitance see her. Blinking her red ruby eye, she saw a middle aged male sitting at his desk, attention focused on some forms in front of her. She grinned to herself, a dark expression as her sense of anticipation rose another notch. The slaughter to come would be beautiful indeed.
"We start with the man in that room," Meld spoke to both of her companions, keepin gher voice low. "He's alone. I'm going to open the door and I want you to end him quickly and silently, Aura." She knew she wouldn't have to repeat herself twice and that her closest friend in the country was more than competent enough to get the job done. Tha and she would have no qualms over cold blooded killing. Cafas was still a relative unknown, but as long as he didn't interfere she would be pleased enough.
Meld crept towards the door and made eye contact with Aura. As soon as she recieved note that the other woman was ready she hopened to door and stood out of the way, careful to remain quiet so that their vicitm wouldn't hear a thing. Hopefully his life would be ended in mere moments without having the chance to utter a sound.
Cafas sighed, tucked away his spike and unceremoniously followed Meld to ground level. He hit with enough force to knock the air out of him and he was fairly certain having his gear on didn't help at all. He pondered a moment taking the top floor regardless but decided against it. He entered first the shed, from which he pinched a particularly nice looking small sledgehammer. It was more for him than the killing. His balaclava itched like hell but he didn't want to take too many chances. He entered the small room just as the conversation started. Cafas listened intently while watching the only other entrance to the room with attention levels not often heard of in generation Y. Eventually he wandered though. He began searching for security devices.
'Like rocket turrets!'
He didn't notice anything straight away, however sitting idly in one corner was a little black hemisphere hanging from the ceiling. Alchemist approached it as he heard the talking end and decided it needed a quick visit from the hammer fairy. He counted to ten to give the plan enough time to be put into action and swung the tool directly into the inverted dome, crushing it and its little electrical components. No doubt it was monitoring straight to tape and would cut to hash but he didn't think anyone would miss it until a good few started to go out, which they would not, because in all likelihood they would be unattended (which, given the lack of alarm sounding, was the case) and when it did, well, he doubted much could stand in the way of a killing machine like meld, a bulletproof warrior and the amazingly well armed girl.
Aura watched as Cafas took care of the security camera she had failed to notice, it gave her a bit of respect for him as it meant he was useful, she said nothing to him, only sending a nod his way. She also took note that their was no alarm, a good sign it meant they would stay undercover longer and they would b e more effective at eliminating the humans. Every Human that died put them one step closer to dominating the earth, as was their right by nature.
Aura nodded and the aura around her hands reformed itself into Axe like weapons.Aura was already planning her method of attack before the door was open, swords could work but sometimes could be slow in a killing stroke where as the axe was a more concentrated cutting force and thus Aura reasoned with herself that it would be best to prevent accidental screaming, silence was key here after all. Aura got ready to move against the door once it was open and watched as Meld opened the door to begin the dance.
Aura burst into full out run as soon as the door was open clearing the door just seconds after the door opened to reveal the man. The desk was between her and the man, Aura leapt up, the man said something but Aura did not listen, by the time the suited man Looked up, Aura was already swinging her Axe blade, aiming for his neck, the jugular, his lips parts in surprise just as the Axe blade struck, drenching his papers in a thick red fluid that made a soft dripping noise as it ran off the desk, as the man's beheaded body fell onto the desk.
Aura made her way to the other side of the desk and the Axe blades flowed back into her Aura. She began looking through the man's pockets, tossing aside his wallet and some candy. She placed a set of keys she found on him beside the desk unaware if they even to the building. In the man's other pocket was a cell phone. Looking around She glanced back at the door to signal they were in the clear and had not triggerd any alarms
Aura made her way to the far end of the room, she noticed their was a door way to a large hall way, hanging partly open. Aura pressed her back against the wall beside the door, she had considered moving the body, but with the raw amount of blood on the floor, she was unsure it would really matter in any case. "Looks like a main hall way" she said as soon as she saw the other enter the room.
Just then a woman ina nurse uniform walked in her head buried in her clipboard, Aura formed a hammer on her right hand and swung without a word, hitting the woamn in the back of the head hard, as she fell, aura dragged her out of the doorway, a small red trail behind the woman the discarded clipboard skittering across the floor as she did. That was two down, only several hundred more to die. Checking the woman she realized she was sti;ll alive, though bleeding from the back of her head, Aura reformed her weapon into a sword, a made sure the woman would never scream witha single downward stroke.

Meld knew that Aura would listen to her Orders without question so it was no surprise when the younger woman took out the potential threat quickly and efficiently. It was a mild surprise when Alchemist didn't protest and, more importantly, when he took out a security camera that could have caused them all problems in the future. Whether it was because of his own survival instinct or because of an altruistic commitment to the goal at hand didn't really matter; what was important was that he was doing his part to ensure the success of the mission.
A woman with her nose buried in unknown notes on a clipboard wandered into the room and Aura dispatched her as well, before Meld could so much as react to her presence. Meld grabbed the keys that the other woman set aside, not entirely sure what they were for but deciding that they could prove potentially useful in the future. Her tail twitched in anticipation of the slaughter to come. Aura might have gotten first blood and second, but she'd be damned if she let her friend have all the fun tonight.
Meld continued down the main corridor, following close behind Aura. Every few moments she blinked her tail eye to ensure that no unwanted guests discovered their presence and lived to warn the others about it. In short Order they came across a second closed door and Meld put her ear to the door, trying to hear if anyone was waiting inside. She heard muffled voices, at least two, possibly three and then heard footsteps approached the door. She gestured for Aura and Cafas to stand aside and gestured with her hand that there were two or three people within. Meld crowed to the side of the door and, a moment after the door opened, leaped forward, tail slicing cleanly through a man's neck.
Cafas tried not to blink as Aura went about her business. He had technically signed on for this. His moral compass was, after all, set to 'whatever it takes to survive'. Was that chaotic neutral? Or true neutral? Oh well he'd figure that out if he ever decided to play dungeons and dragons. These people wanted him dead; he was acting in self preservation. He almost missed the second death of their little trip. Well, now that WAS interesting, apparently the pink glow came in multiple flavours. He'd have to remember that.
'Apparently not someone to mess with'
Obvious thought was obvious in his opinion but it would help him remember it. Being last in their little chain he felt possibly like they weren't sure about him. Well, that was understandable really. He stopped when he was motioned to stand aside from the door. Hell, he was far enough away. Meld indicated at some amount of people, he figured it was three. The latch clicked, Meld disappeared, a fountain of blood spurted into the hallway. The heart really was an amazingly strong muscle. He followed directly behind her just in time to be met with a fist to the chest. It was a second man. Cafas barely even recoiled, the man was pitifully weak. The hammer he had stolen from the shed swept upwards and caught the defiant human squarely in the chin. He fell to the ground, out cold.
'Asshole.'
Cafas assumed one of the others would deal with the third party he had spotted on the way in as he walked over to the man he had just attacked's head area. The gurgling noise coming from the blood in his mouth meant he was still breathing. Cafas wasn't in any position to show weakness. "My life or yours." He whispered to himself more than the man before him. With everything else sheathed but for the hammer, and no intention of getting that close to ground level in an aggressive environment Cafas placed his foot against the head of the still living man, shifted his weight, lifted the foot, and slammed it back down through the heel. It took 8 pounds to crush a human skull. Far more than that was applied. There was a crunch, the gurgling stopped.
'That... was so gross.'
He lifted his foot and turned to observe the rest of the proceedings, a light dripping reaching his ears until he returned his boot to ground level.
Aura saw her target, and her reaction was almost instant she charged and as the man reacted to the other two attacks, he did not even see Aura untill she was in front of him, Aura formed an Aura drill on her right hand and brought it to the man in an uppercut like motion to ensure the drill slipped under his rib. Looking up at the man, to see the terror in his eyes, smiling, she changed her drill into a sword, and quickly brought the blade down, tearing it from his body. Aura glanced down to take in if she had killed the man, she had aimed for the vital organs within his body, though as she heard no noise from the body and the wound was causing massive bleeding, she figured even if he was just passed out, he would be dead soon enough.
Aura glanced over to....what was his name again, oh well what mattered was he was willing to kill, a fact that made aura smile, even as she bent down and dipped a finger into the blood pool of the man cafas had killed and licked her finger. "You do good work" she said with a smile as cafas had earned her respect in the action. "Hey Meld i Like this guy" she said, her voice sounding cheerful and relaxed. As she stood she let her aura lose form and the blade slowly flowed back into her aura as if it were never solid.
Looking around the room, Aura looked for anything else they could use, but the walls were white and sterile. Leaning back down by her kill she once again emtied his pockets untill she found his wallet, throwing the money behind her as well as his credit cards she took her prize, his ID. Once she had that she dropped the wallet on his chest. Aura was happy and proceeded to the far end of the room, opening a door, but only finding a janitor closet. Leaving it open she moved on untill she found a two way intersection in the hallway, she looked back to see what Meld wished to do.

Meld nodded her head approvingly at Cafas as he dispatched his first victim. It was good to see that he was willing to do what was necessary; she hadn't been entirely certain in him at first but it seemed her faith in him was well placed. She couldn't help but thinking, however, that things thus far had been too easy. This place had the reputation of being a compound, so where were the guards? Where were the weapons? True they had made a stealthy entrance and appeared to be so far undetected but she was certain that that wasn't going to last for much longer.
Almost as if her mind had been read, the first real threat rounded the corner to face the three of them. Perhaps there had been some sort of silent alarm or a security camera that they had missed, or perhaps they had made too much noise during the last kill but regardless two security guards (or so she assumed they were security guards) appeared, guns pointed at the three of them. "Don't move or we shoot," the one on the left demanded. To his credit his voice was steady and Meld detected only the faintest widening of his eyes at the sight of them. His partner, likewise, held his gun steadily pointed at them. Obviously they didn't have a full idea of what they were facing or they would have surely started shooting immediately, so Meld came to the conclusion that they must have heard something and came to investigate.
Meld smiled languidly at the pair of them, the same smile a cat would give a mouse that it was playing with if cats could smile. It was an expression that clearly stated just how little regard she had for them and their puny weapons. They were human and therefore below her in stature. They were no threat at all. "And if we don't remain still?" The question was rhetorical and before they could so much as offer any sort of an answer she moved, faster than any human might move, leaping from the ground into the air. In that moment shots were fired though she was unaware if they actually hit anyone or anything important. An instant later she had vaulted over the guards heads to land loudly behind them, claws out, preparing to end their miserable little lives. Justice for the mutant babies that they had so thoughtlessly murdered.
Cafas smiled under his head covering. It was the smile of someone who had narrowly escaped his own death by killing someone else. He tucked his hammer into his belt and followed the others out the door, not desperate to be in the lead. What happened to him in the end, though, was that he walked directly into a hail of bullets and the sight of Meld jumping over a group of three angry looking guards. The shots made him flinch. Reflexive powers kicked in. Bullets completely ruined his clothes, then vaporised off his skin. He turned to the nice men with the guns and sighed, now he was mad, he liked those clothes.
’Alright, now it’s really life or death, no more guilt.’
Cafas walked into the storm of metal as the clips emptied and the two men reacted to the fact Meld was behind them. It sure was a pity for them. Then from behind him he felt the oddest sensation of his power activating many more times than his front. He spun and looked directly at a group of six more of the security guard guys. He looked at them with a face that said ‘What the hell are you doing, you’re wasting your time.’ Unfortunately they couldn’t see it so it seemed like wasted energy, but he did it anyway. Pulling his crude spike up to a position from his belt that was slightly more intimidating than hanging limply. Pulling his shield up C.J. took a jog at the men, a new layer of metal being added to its front.
’Why am I here again?’
He swung his arm. Metal connected with face, blood sprayed from someone’s nose and a sharp spike punctured another’s chest cavity, though Cafas assumed they were both alive. He received a rifle butt to the side of the head for his troubles. A sword left its sheath and sliced through someone’s chest and into his neck, where it was stopped by a shoulder blade; he didn’t get enough momentum straight from the sheath apparently. He tugged it out and tripped over, landing face down. The culprit was a well placed shield kick from the man with the bleeding nose. He was kicked again in the back, smacked his face on the ground and heard the unmistakable sound of a plastic baton extending. It didn’t bode well.
’Ah crap, all I need now is one of them to have a taser.’
Aura had figured this place would be better protected or guarded, but then humans were an inferior species. Just as she was about to mention they move on, the guards did arrive and judging from the number, they knew the three were there, looking around Aura quickly found out why. In the corner of the room was a small camera, almost hidden in the rooms' corner. Aura just smiled, she would have rather had it this way anyway.
Their were guards in front and behind them all armed, meld leapt over the three in front and cafas went to engage those behind. Aura formed a weapon that she had not used in some time, a chainsaw on her right arm. Since their were more guards in the back Aura charged that direction even though it seemed cafas was doing surprisingly well, until he was knocked on his face. Aura was unsure of the club weapon the officer took out and so threw a punch at it, keeping her saw like aura going, she deflected the baton aside and the severed the man's arm just above the wrist and tear shallowly into his side.
Having not expected such Little resistance Aura stumbled forward into the guard behind him, she felt a kick come from her side, gripping onto the first man, she suddenly remembered she still had the chainsaw on her arm, the guard fell, half the man, he use to be. Aura felt the bullet deflect off of her aura, in response she turned and punched in the direction, only to have her armed, grabbed by the shooter who leveled the gun at her head. WIthout looking Aura formed a drill, which sent blood every ware.
"You alright Swords?" she asked Alchemist without looking down at him, she could hear footsteps getting closer. "Death to the human scum!" she yelled with a smile, the blood falling from her aura unable to cling to it.

Meld hated guns. With an all abiding passion. Maybe one day she would strip the flesh from her body and replace it with a thin titanium armour and thus have some protection against the bullets that all to often seemed to be aimed in her direction, but until that time she absolutely hated guns. Her shield arm had done wonders to increase her survivability in battles, including gun battles, but she still possessed far too much vulnerable flesh to feel comfortable in the presence of high speed ranged weapons. Her mutation, as much as she loved it, simply didn't lend itself well to ranged battle. Any more than a few feet away and she was, for lack of a better word, screwed.
In the present situation there was at least one positive, that being the fact that she was well within range of her enemies. Having successfully vaulted over the heads of her three enemies, she heard at least two bullets ricochet off of her shield. She didn't give them a chance to fire a second round at her. In one fluid she cut into the neck of the first man with the razor sharp edge of her shield, causing blood to spray everywhere before he even had a chance to turn around. Continuing her dance of death, Meld sliced open the face of the second man with a kick to the side of the head with one of her bladed metal feet, causing him to scream in agony and clutch at his face. The third man had time to react, barely, pivoting back around to face Meld just in time to fire off another couple of shots and then receive a deadly tail into the side of his head, causing him to fall to the ground dead in an instant. She would check herself over for potential injuries later.
It was only after the three immediate threats had been dispatched that Meld turned and realized that there were additional threats behind them, threats that Cafas and Aura seemed to have well in hand. It was a good feeling to have allies that one could rely on.
"Death to the human scum!"
Meld smiled coldly back at Aura, darkness and death in her eyes. She took the opportunity in the lull of the fighting to look down at herself and assess any potential injuries. A bullet had skimmed her left arm causing a sluggish trickle of blood to be seen through the large amount of gore currently covering her body. It would have to be tended to later in order to avoid infection, but for now it was a mere flesh wound. "You fight good," Meld nodded her approval at Cafas. "Is everyone all right?"
Cafas received compliments as he stood up, also inquiries he could only assume applied purely to the physical state of people, cos clearly these two were nut jobs, really bad ones too. He tasted blood, lots of it, and determined it was coming from his nose. He stabbed the man who he had earlier spiked straight in the neck; it gave him thirty seconds to say his goodbyes to the world before he bled out. Alchemist observed the area. Gore abounded. He’d had trouble watching movies with less gore than the scene he was in, but was too scared to throw up.
'Say something dumba**"
"I'm fine, just a bloody nose." He turned to Meld after taking the spike from the man who he now gave about ten seconds. It evaporated right out of his hand. He used the down time to smooth out the new layer on his shield, bullet metals, he hated them, far too soft, although they had their uses, if they got hit on the right angle a blade would slide straight through it, which tended to put people off balance. Making sure everyone around him was dead or a psychopath, C.J. picked up a gun. He had previously demonstrated in front of Meld that he had minimal abilities with one, but this one fired automatically, and had a lot of bullets.
'Thanks for reloading before you died.'
C.J. tucked it into his shoulder like demonstrated in movies and took point, moving around the corner, through a door which all the guards o his end had come busting through. At least he would try and make it painless.
Aura knew several things right away, they were now likely to be expected wherever they went, if the camera had not given them away as Aura assumed the gunshots would have alerted anyone to their presence. "Our stealth is likely shot now" she said shaking her head as she moved to the far end of the room back by Meld to regroup. It was true, they would likely be expected as they tore through the rest of the hospital but Aura kind of preferred the ability to be direct with ehr enemies, it made things so much simpler.
"Good, you can't die just yet, swords" she said with a smile one might give a comrade. "Glad you can hold your own though, it's a pain in the ass to have to do this and worry about protecting another who cant defend thesmelf" she said honestly having been int hat situation much more often then she would have liked. Guarding others well essentially, restricted what you could do and often meant you had to take damage simply to make sure that person did not.
"im fine, they were pathetic, par tof me hopes it wont be thiseays the entire way, though things would go better if it was" she said, as she used her Aura to cave a pentagram into the wall then drew a circle around it the drywall simply fell into the wall. It was pointless destruction and Aura decided to follow swords, as he took point falling back a bit to watch his flank, her Aura sword was ready incase anything jumped out but so far she saw nothing, opening a door they passed she quickly swept her eyes across the room but saw nothing in it, other then hospital supplies.
