Meld was in a completely dispassionate state as she confirmed the well being of both Aura and Alchemist, her emotions shut down for the purposes of the mission. Emotions were a dangerous hindrance in situations such as this, having the ability to cause either irrational acts or hesitation, both of which could potentially end in maiming or death. Thus, she was able to do without them, at least temporarily. She nodded her understanding at Alchemist, taking stalk of his bloody nose. The wound, from her vantage point, was minor at best and he would live. Hopefully it wouldn't affect him to much and hopefully his own emotions wouldn't' get in the way as the mission progressed. It would be just her luck to have them suddenly kick in preventing him from doing what was necessary at the very last moment.
"You're right about our stealth being shot," Meld agreed. She wiped her claws one of the less bloody articles of clothing of one of the corpses littering the ground, trying to get the worst of the gore off of it. "I think we should go for the children first, get them out safely, then we can finish the job here. A hostage might work to our advantage too, someone that will cause our enemies to hesitate long enough for us to take advantage of it. We kill the men on sight, women and find a woman to take as our hostage. When we're done, we can let her go to take care of the children." Even with all the killing she had done over the past year, she had never killed a child and hoped never to have to.
Meld picked up the shock rod from one of their fallen enemies, testing its wight and balance in her hand. It would, she decided, be an effective weapon and even more effective in ensuring that their soon to be hostage cooperated fully. Moving onto the next room, she looked around and found it empty of human life. "If you were to hide a bunch of children, where would you hide them?" Quite likely the children would be well protected and there would be a fight to get to them. Maybe the protectors might listen to reason, however. After all, they were planning on letting the children go and that had to count for something. The children and whoever their chosen hostage happened to be.
