The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It was only a few minutes ago when her blush didn't carry the smile with it like it was at that moment. He was pretty sure that she'd been told she was good looking before but it was mainly from her parents. Although he suspected the reason she didn't date was because her father kept her on a tight leash and probably scared all the guys away before it got any farther than some flowers or saying hi to her. Right now he was definitely glad that he didn't have to worry about her dad. At least until they got back to the states. Suddenly Streak had a feeling that he might have to meet the parents when they got back. If there was one thing that terrified Shawn more than getting thrown in the camps or someone from his team being thrown in them it was meeting parents.
"I just... didn't want to make you uncomfortable, because I don't really know... what to do." "I figured someone... inexperienced like me would need a lot of patience and stuff."
"Well not to point any fingers but I wasn't uncomfortable until you said that." Streak said. Lily continued talking ad seeming to ramble on about her inexperience. He found it obvious that she was more uncomfortable than he was with her admonition. Her snuggling was unexpected but very welcomed. He wrapped his arms around her robed body when she started speaking again. Lily started speaking into his neck and he rested his chin on her head as she started talking.
"I don't really know why. I always got asked out, you know, in a polite way. Flowers and dancing and letters, but it never... went beyond that. Most guys treated me like I was someone very... fragile. Dad probably would have killed them if they didn't." "I think that's what my girl friends called 'high maintenance'."
"Have I not been treating you the same way? Or have I been treating you like a normal person? Ya know not counting the fight we got into at the park. I think your dad had something to do with that and he just hasn't gotten to me yet. But I gotta admit I'm looking forward to any meeting with him that I might have to have later on." Streak said lying through his teeth. He didn't want her to worry about him getting scared away with any of her inexperience or with anything that her dad could throw at him. He'd had to handle more than his share of outrages and other outbursts already from various mutants and humans. "I can deal with high maintenance." Shawn told her hopefully to lessen her nerves.
"Well not to point any fingers but I wasn't uncomfortable until you said that." Lily rolled her eyes at that and huffed. "But you were bound to find out anyway, sooner or later." He was too. And 'later' would probably have been way, way much more awkward than it was sooner. "Have I not been treating you the same way? Or have I been treating you like a normal person? Ya know not counting the fight we got into at the park. Lily chuckled at that. "Yes you have been. I have to admit, no guy ever took me on a date where I had to fight for my life." she said, poking him in the ribs. It was true. And scary as hell, and all kinds of upsetting, but it was truly the most memorable date she ever had, so far. "I think your dad had something to do with that and he just hasn't gotten to me yet. But I gotta admit I'm looking forward to any meeting with him that I might have to have later on." At that comment, Lily was silent for a few seconds, then started to giggle into Shawn's neck. "I can deal with high maintenance." The giggling just grew louder, and now Lily was laughing, in a cheerful manner that made it look like she hadn't been embarrassed at all just minutes before. "Shawn, you did not just say that. Tell me you didn't just say you were looking forward to meeting Dad." she laughed, pulling away to look at him "Come on, dear, I might not have experience with the whole relationship thing, but even I am not that naive." What guy in his right mind would ever want to meet his girlfriend's father unless he was forced to, with a gun at his head?... Wrapping her arms around Shawn's neck she gave him a kiss on the cheek between some more laughter. "But I appreciate you saying it, you know." she smiled up at him, pulling the robe back up on her shoulders "And I'm sorry for ruining the moment. I guess I did get a bit nervous."

"But you were bound to find out anyway, sooner or later." “Yes you have been. I have to admit, no guy ever took me on a date where I had to fight for my life."
“Ya but personally I would have preferred later rather than sooner. I think.” Streak commented back at her, smiling. Sure this seemed like a pretty weird topic to be discussing like it was the days weather, but it was still a little amusing. The smile on his face continued to shine as their conversation continued. “Hey! I said I wasn’t counting that one.” As he said this comment he picked his head up and looked down at the top of her head. Streak chuckled. Lily was now giggling at some of his earlier comments. Shawn started laughing along with her, since it seemed that her laughter was contagious. He tried to think of what he’d said that was so funny. He didn’t have to wait long for his answer though.
"Shawn, you did not just say that. Tell me you didn't just say you were looking forward to meeting Dad." "Come on, dear, I might not have experience with the whole relationship thing, but even I am not that naive." "But I appreciate you saying it, you know." "And I'm sorry for ruining the moment. I guess I did get a bit nervous."
“Ok ya caught me. Of course I'm not looking forward to it. No guy in their right mind would look forward to it. But then again I think he’d have a hard time scaring me off.” Streak said as he still tried to comfort her. Lily’s kiss on his cheek was a much different kiss than he’d gotten before from her. Mainly because she was still laughing when she did it; but was nice, and Streak returned the kiss to her cheek with a smile. "Hey it's ok to be nervous about having your first boyfriend. I'd have been surprised if you weren't nervous about having a boyfriend. It's only to be expected and I'll be as patient as you need me to be." Streak said with absolutely no hint of joking or sarcasm in his voice.
Lily grinned, and sat back, tilting her head at Shawn. "Well, I don't know. You know, Dad proved to be very talented in staring down prospective boyfriends" she said matter-of-factly "Sometimes I wonder if it's a mutation, really. Very, very powerful." Of course she was joking. Dad was great at intimidating boys who set their eyes on his darling only daughter, but far not good enough to be superhuman. Of course said boys did not need to know that. She didn't think Shawn would have any problems with it either. It was just fun to say stuff like that and wait for his reaction. "Hey it's ok to be nervous about having your first boyfriend. I'd have been surprised if you weren't nervous about having a boyfriend. It's only to be expected and I'll be as patient as you need me to be." Now that was just sweet. Lily's cheeks turned pink and she dimpled as she looked up at him. "Thank you." she said, touching his face with one hand before a smile lit up her face "Don't worry, I am a quick learner." And she laughed again.

"Well, I don't know. You know, Dad proved to be very talented in staring down prospective boyfriends" "Sometimes I wonder if it's a mutation, really. Very, very powerful."
"Am I still a prospective boyfriend? I was kind of hoping I'd be a little a head of the other past suiters." Streak said looking at her with a smile. If she was going to continue messing with him about something as serious as meeting her parents then he would try to get back at her. Unfortunately she had the upper hand on this one with meeting her father. "What are you trying to do? Scare me off. I happen to be a little tougher to intimidate than most people." He said staring at her across from him on the bed.
"Thank you." "Don't worry, I am a quick learner."
Well that's good to know. Streak thought smiling at her as her hand touched his face. "It seems you're already picking up on things pretty quickly." The young man then adjusted his head just a little and lightly kissed her hand. Shawn then placed his hand on hers and held it to his face so that she couldn't pull it away. He didn't think she would but he wasn't going to let her try. "And what would your dad say if he could see you now?" Shawn asked and he once again pulled her close to him. "It doesn't matter what your dad could do to me...he couldn't keep me away from you." Streak spoke the truth. He didn't care how tough her dad pretended to be or how rich and powerful he really was. There was no way he could keep Streak away from Lily. No distance was to great, and no place was impenetrable enough to keep him out.
"Am I still a prospective boyfriend? I was kind of hoping I'd be a little a head of the other past suiters." Lily giggled, she really enjoyed this game right now. "And you think that because....?" Because they shared - technically are still sharing - the same bed in less then decent clothing (or lack thereof), because they made out and because he's nothing like the ones before? That was no reason she should stop messing with him. "What are you trying to do? Scare me off. I happen to be a little tougher to intimidate than most people." Lily grinned and shrugged. "Oh, they all say that, at first. And then comes the running and the screaming..." "And what would your dad say if he could see you now? It doesn't matter what your dad could do to me...he couldn't keep me away from you." Lily smiled and allowed herself to be pulled back, close to him. No, none of the other guys were anything like Shawn. Her fingers twitched as she felt the silver under his skin. "He would probably say 'Son, you and I need to talk'." she chuckled, leaning against him, finally giving up the game "But you know the thing about only daughters is they can't really be controlled by Daddy once they've made up their mind. So no, I don't think he could keep me away from you either."

"And you think that because....?" "Oh, they all say that, at first. And then comes the running and the screaming..."
What were the reasons he thought that? Was it the fact that their attraction towards each other was obvious ever since they first met? No. Was it the fact that they'd fought together and she'd basically saved his life? Nah... Couldn't be. Or was it maybe the fact that he'd carried her to his room, she'd slept with him, made out with him, and she was now so unobjectively close to him and both were wearing practically nothing?
The latter reason sounded more probable, by the other guesses sounded pretty good too. "For your information Lily... I may run but I don't scream." he said smiling at her and trying not to laugh at the comment. He knew that she was joking around. She had to be. There was just no way that anyone could talk about such a serious boyfriend and girlfriend topic and not have already made up their mind that no matter what their parents say there would be no chaning her mind.
She didn't try to stop him from getting her closer to him. This was going to be tough. The mission still needed to be done and at the end of their talk Streak would have deeper feelings for Jewel than he didany feelings than he'd expected to get while talking to her. It would be hard for him not to put himself in unnecessary risk to keep her safe and he wouldn't have doubted if she ran into the same problem. But... That sounded like a problem to solve at a later time. Right now all problems and concerns seemed to vanish as he held Lily close to him. At this time nothing else seemed to matter but her, and frankly he was ok with that.
"He would probably say 'Son , you and I need to talk'." "But you know the thing about only daughters is they can't really be controlled by Daddy once they've made up their mind. So no, I don't think he could keep me away from you either."
"And I would gladly have that talk with him" after a short pause he said, "Ok maybe not gladly but I'd definitely have that talk with him." Again Streak paused for a second, but this time only to kiss her forehead, "I've actually heard that only daughters hzve their dad wrapped around their little pinky. And what would daddys little girl say to him to sway him not to get a restraining order placed on me?" He'd said this last part as a little bait to see what she would say.
Upon hearing her last statement he knew he'd won the litle game she was playing. However, her last comment was probably the most touching and meaningful. He'd meant what he'd said and there was no taking it back now that the sentence had left both of their lips. It told him that even though he felt strongly for her she felt just as strongly for him. "Well hopefully he wint try to keep us apart cause I don't think it would work at all." Shawn felt his silver twitch at almost the same time as her fingers did. The feeling was weird but it didn't tickle or bother him. It was just kind of there.
"For your information Lily... I may run but I don't scream." Lily giggled at that. Of course he doesn't. She figured that much. X-men don't scream. It was still a funny image, now that he mentioned it. It looked like they would have trouble getting out of bed and into some decent clothes anytime soon. Lily didn't really mind either. "I've actually heard that only daughters hzve their dad wrapped around their little pinky. And what would daddys little girl say to him to sway him not to get a restraining order placed on me?" "Oh, I would tell him what a nice, trustworthy young gentleman you are, and that all your plans and intentions concerning his little daughter are completely decent and harmless." she grinned "And that if he got a restraining order I would be really, really sad." she added with a pout "And I might also mention you can walk through walls." That last part was the least risky, to tell the truth - Dad and Maman knew about their daughter's abilities, and had always been friendly with mutants. If there was anything that would make them suspicious about Shawn, it was not the mutation. "Well hopefully he wont try to keep us apart cause I don't think it would work at all." "Good." she smiled; she could feel his silver reacting to her touch. She thought she'd get used to the feeling, but apparently it felt a little bit different every time. It must have been the same for Shawn. He didn't complain about tickling this time. So she kissed him again. Because she could.
[OOC: Interruption coming! *grin* Also... Continued for Circe from: A Night To Forget.]
With her room locked, backpack thrown over one shoulder and chewing on a painkiller, Alexandra was ready to move on to today’s mission. But first… check on partner-in-crime, Lily. With silent steps, she walked from the door of her room to Lily’s and knocked… once, twice… The molecule manipulator frowned slightly. Was Lily still sleeping? Cause Sam wouldn’t be too happy about that. She knocked again, harder. Still nothing. “Strange…” Alexandra muttered. Oh well, she’d have to check on Lily later.
Again, Alexandra moved, this time to Streak’s door. And hoped that he was ready to go.

"Ya know. As sweet as that is...I don't think he'll believe that excuse. Personally I don't think he'll enjoy hearing that I can walk through walls, knowing that no matter what he wouldn't be able to keep me out of your room." Streak smiled. It would be fun to see what her dad would do to try and keep him away from her. "I'd be sad too but somehow I don't think you would turn me in for breaking the restriction." he winked at Lily.
The new couple was soon kissing again. It was great. Just like when she tickled his silver her kiss felt different every time. To tell the truth, Streak never thought they would get on with the day. And once again that was fine with him. Shawn was completely content with spending the rest of he day sitting around on his bed with her in his bathrobe and him in a towel. If her kissing was always this different everytime then he didn't think he'd have to worry about getting bored with her. Of course if they always got in fights and he kept getting shot everytime they went out then it might be to dangerous to go out with her. But he'll cross that bridge when he came to it.
Unfortunately there was a knock on the door. Who could that be? he wondered. He hadn't ordered anything since breakfast. Streak groaned and broke off the kiss like he'd done when room service had come. "Do you have somewhere you need to be that knows your in y room? Actually it's probably for me. Might be important." Streak climbed off the bed and walked over to the door still in his towel. Without even thinking he opened the door and much to his surprise Alexandra was standing on the other side. "Hey Alex. Did I miss something? Are you going somewhere?" he then realized how awkward this could get if Lily decided to come to he door and say hi to Alexandra.
"I'd be sad too but somehow I don't think you would turn me in for breaking the restriction." You bet I wouldn't. Lily's nervousness was rapidly fading as she wrapped her arms around his neck; as far as kissing went, she had a lot to catch up on. And they had the whole day off before... Knock knock. Lily's groan of frustration matched Shawn's as the kiss ended. They didn't even order anything! She realized the room was Shawn's, so someone would most probably looking for him and not her, and she wondered who would that be and if it would be better if she made herself invisible. Of course it could always be one of their teammates, or... Alex. Lily grinned as she composed herself, pulling the bathrobe tighter. Oh, Alex would definitely get the wrong idea from this. Well, at least she apparently was up and about, and dressed, which was a good thing, even better considering Lily herself hadn't managed to reach that state yet. She wondered if the other girl was looking for her now. She was there last night, it didn't take a genius to figure if Lily was not in her room what would be the second most possible place to find her. Jewel blushed a bit, she didn't realize news would get around so fast. "....Did I miss something? Are you going somewhere?" So much about hanging out in this room all day.
Blue eyes wandered around the hotel hallway. Alexandra was slightly impatient. Still chewing on the pill she’d stuck in her mouth earlier, she began to lightly tap her finger against her leg. So. Why was taking Streak so long to open the door?
Sounds distracted her from watching the intricate patterns of the wall. Eyes turned toward the door as it opened, a towel-clad Streak appearing behind it. Alexandra frowned. Streak didn’t forget about the miss-
"Hey Alex. Did I miss something? Are you going somewhere?"
Frown, frown. “Apparently you did.” She replied, letting out a sigh. “Did you forget we have a mission today?” As she spoke, blue eyes were focused on the figure of the silver eyed mutant. Then, a movement caught her eye and she looked past Streak. To a robe-clad Lily. Her jaw hung open for a moment. And when she thought that only yesterday she was telling Lily to talk about her feelings with Streak. She didn’t quite expect to listen to her so soon.
Alexandra forced her mouth to close, eyes traveling back to Streak. “But then again I see you had good reasons to be distracted.” She commented with a chuckle. Eyes shifted once again, this time to Lily. “Hi Lily. How you feeling today?” She asked with a smirk. She assumed that excellent was one of the possible answers.

There was a mission today? How could he have forgotten about it? Oh ya. Lily. That's how he'd forgotten about it. "Ya know. I knew there was something I was forgetting this morning but I couldn't remember what it was." Streak said to Alexandra like he wasn't standing in the doorway wearing only a towel and Lily wasn't in his room wearing only a bathrobe. Yup... this was embarrassing. Maybe it was Lily's plan all along for her to make him forget about the mission with Alex and in the process she was also forgetting about her mission.
"Just give me a minute to get decent." Streak wasn't exactly sure if he should let her in. After all she'd already seen Lily in his robe behind him. He was hoping that she wouldn't be seen. Obviously this didn't go as planned. Probably against his better judgement Shawn moved aside, "Come on in...I guess." Streak left his door open and walked back over to his bed where Lily was trying to hide. It wasn't working to well. "Better get ready." Streak said to her as he picked up some clothes and went into the bathroom to put them on. He didn't need to look dashing. In fact based on the way Alex was dressed he didn't really need much special looks. All he needed was stealthy clothing.
Clothing was such a quick thing for him to put on. Shawn quickly put on a pair of black pants and a black t-shirt. Coming out of the bathroom finally clothed he grabbed his leather jacket and put it on. He didn't need to bring knives along with him on the plane ride over. Streak created his own knives and laid them out on the bed. Strapping on a pair of black military-looking boots, Streak placed the knives in their own sheaths and stood up ready to go. Once again Streak walked over to Lily and placed his hands around her waist, pulling her close to him. His voice was low, but not low enough that Alexandra couldn't hear him, if she was paying attention that is. "Sam's a good guy. He'll protect you. But you better come back safe... And in one piece. OK?" He smiled at Jewel. He didn't need to go into more detail than that, because he figured that it would take to long and the longer he took to say good bye the harder it would be to let her go on the mission and not follow her the whole way ignoring his mission. Streak gave Lily a quick kiss on the lips; any longer than one second and it might have become a little to... Well I'm sure you get the idea.
Streak straightened his back, perhaps seeming taller than he really was, and said, "Bye Lily."
“Did you forget we have a mission today?... But then again I see you had good reasons to be distracted. Hi Lily. How you feeling today?” Okay so this was embarrassing. Lily could see the look on Alex's face when she noticed Streak was not alone. As if she hadn't been the one suggesting they talked about their relationship. Or at least that's how Lily remembered their girl talk the night before. It was all a bit foggy. "I'm fine." she murmured, cheeks turning red as she got off the bed and ran her fingers through hair in an attempt to look a bit less disheveled "Hung over and mildly embarrassed, but fine." she added with a small smile. Oh well. If someone had to find them like this in Shawn's room, Alex was not the worst that could have happened. While Shawn got dressed and ready for the mission, Lily picked up her various belongings from around the room. Her clothes were still in the bathroom where she'd left them, so she had to stick to the robe till he appeared again. In the meantime, she smiled an all-knowing smile at Alex. She still felt too awkward to chat. They will have to talk again later. Probably after the missions. Probably with a lot less alcohol involved.
"Sam's a good guy. He'll protect you. But you better come back safe... And in one piece. OK?" Lily smiled up at Shawn; ever since last night this was the first time she realized they were still on a mission. Talking about it was one thing - actually going out and doing dangerous things was another. It was time to test the theory about distraction. "I'll be fine, Shawn" she whispered and kissed him back "Don't you dare worry about me. Take care." She let him go, and smiled at Alex. "You too, be careful. See you later." She watched them leave, before walking back to the bathroom to get dressed. Sam was probably already waiting for her. Time to get back to Earth.
"Ya know. I knew there was something I was forgetting this morning but I couldn't remember what it was."
Alexandra smiled an all-knowing smile. Couldn’t blame him. Or Lily. Her eyes slid past Streak again to see Lily. Apparently, she was embarrassed. A seconds glance to Streak and she assumed that he felt the same thing.
"Just give me a minute to get decent."
She nodded then shrugged slightly. Good thing that with all the excitement of the two, he didn’t forget to put some clothes on before going on mission. Mission with Streak in a towel could have been quite interesting.
"Come on in...I guess."
He didn’t sound very certain of that. Alexandra smiled again. Okay, bad her, she’d interrupted something. She wasn’t sure what exactly but it was something. The smile quickly turned into a grin as she entered the room and closed behind her. Streak disappeared in the bathroom, now leaving a blushing Lily with her.
"I'm fine. Hung over and mildly embarrassed, but fine."
Alexandra could actually add a bit more to the ‘fine’. Lily was, hmmm, perhaps glowing was the right word. And embarrassed. Alexandra remembered the time when Luke had walked on her and Sam in a rather embarrassing position. Sure, they had their clothes on, but still. “Good to hear you’re fine. And by the way, Sam’s waiting for you. He said you should be ready soon.” Streak coming out of the bathroom made the molecule manipulator shift her attention to the silver-eyed mutant.
The exchange of replies between the two and the kiss was catalogued as cute by Alexandra. She coughed in her fist, in an attempt to hide a smile. She looked at Lily, nodding then winking. Perhaps later they would have the time to speak and Lily would tell her how things went between her and Streak. “Later Lily.” She spoke, then quickly shifted her attention to Streak. “Let’s go.” With a small gesture toward the door, Alexandra was already moving.
