The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Don't be sorry. I liked it." Lily sighed as she allowed herself to be pulled into a hug, and rested her head on his shoulder. The whole scene felt so peaceful, so nice. It was really like them, doing this in the middle of a mission. She felt a pang of guilt for enjoying herself. She waved it away. Just for a little while. "It's not the silver, you know" she murmured into his neck "Don't think it's the silver. It's you." She was not sure if he understood what she meant. She just wanted to let him know it was not their powers drawing her to him. Well, not just. She sighed again at the sensation of his hands moving up and down her back. "So much about not distracting each other" she chuckled softly as she hugged him back.

"Don't think it's the silver. It's you."
Did she really think that it was only the silver that he thought she was attracted to? Really? He knew that he it was much more than that, that was pulling her towards him. Did he really care? No. He was sure that he could have figured out that she like him without using the silver. Of course Streak was sure that the silver helped him little. But he wasn't complaining about the tools that were implemented in helping him get the girl. Shawn smiled, though he didn't think she could see him do it because her head was currently resting on his shoulder. Even though he was sure that she wasn't just still here because of the hangover, or the silver; but it was good to hear it come from her.
"So much about not distracting each other"
Streak's hands continued to move up and down her back. He smirked and said, "Right." However, oddly enough this was actually helping him. He was getting reassurance of his feeling towards her were reciprocated and he was feeling more sure about himself being able to take care of her and her taking care of herself in a battle situation. Unfortunately Streak knew exactly how far Lily was in her training and it didn't seem to comfort him very much with the thought of her fighting again. "You're actually not distracting me now. You've helped me clear up a giant question mark that's been hanging over my head for a while. Thanks." After Shawn thanked Jewel he looked down at her and kissed her lightly on the neck. Just once. But he thought it would be enough to let he know he was thankful.
"You're actually not distracting me now. You've helped me clear up a giant question mark that's been hanging over my head for a while. Thanks." Lily chuckled again, letting her senses flow, the feeling created by his silver soothing him. It felt like sitting in front of the fireplace on a winter night. Hmm. "Am I not?" she murmured "Well, I'll have to work on that then. Anyway. You are most welcome." She shivered at the kiss to her neck. It was a simple gesture, soft and nice, but just like everything else about Streak, the touch of his lips was way beyond 'simple'. "All right" she whispered "Time to get back to Earth now. We have stuff to do." With that, she pulled away, running her pals down his back and along his sides, making her powers tickle him on purpose. She grinned too. "Am I right?..."

"Am I not?" "Well, I'll have to work on that then. Anyway. You are most welcome."
"Not anymore." Streak replied. apparently she didn't like that comment. Not that it made her mad but it also wasn't something that he thought she really needed to work on a whole lot. Distractions were an easy thing for most people and he was fairly confident that Lily would be able to distract him without much trying. For example, a towel. Enough said. Shawn felt her shiver as he kissed her neck. Apparently she didn't need much for him to distract her either.
"All right" "Time to get back to Earth now. We have stuff to do." "Am I right?..."
Maybe that was her way of getting him more distracted. But whatever it was, it was working. Streak laughed and squirmed a little as Lily pulled her hands down his back. "Ya you're right. That's more distracting." Streak said. Why was she trying to leave? They didn't have any work to do until the later that night. An evil idea came through Shawn's mind, and he didn't try to ignore it. Without warning he scooped Lily up and held her in his arms. "Now what are you talking about. There's no work that needs to be done. Or are you just trying to escape?" said the smiling Streak.
"Now what are you talking about. There's no work that needs to be done. Or are you just trying to escape?" Lily yelped in surprise as she was scooped up. "You are getting used to this aren't you" she giggled, wrapping her arms around his neck. She was not really trying to escape. She just had this idea of them having to do... stuff, on a mission. Like checking to see if Sam needed a rescue team from Alex. The more she thought about it though the more vague the idea got. Shawn might have had something to do with that. She was silent for a couple of seconds before glancing around, then looking up at him. "And now what?..." With a smirk, she ran her fingers through his hair, letting her powers tickle him. His hair stood up as if it was pulled by electricity. It looked messy. Lily giggled again. "You are fun to experiment on, Mr. Team Leader."

Actually there probably was work that needed to be done if he really tried to find it. But he didn't want to do any right now and he was able to procrastinate a long time with Lily there. Of course he wasn't going to tell her that becuase then she would have left. And he really didn't want that. Besides maybe she would be able to help him if he did decide to do work.
Although with Lily in his arms it was looking less and less likely that he would get any work done. Jewel ran he fingers through his hair. Normally it would have felt nice. But that was usually when someone wasn't trying to tickle you by using their powers. Right now he looked like he'd jus stuck his finger in an electrical socket. Streak shook his head to try to get some of his hair to lie back down. It didn't work to well, but some of it looked better.
"And now what?..." "You are fun to experiment on, Mr. Team Leader."
"Well now..." he said walking over to the bed and setting her down on it, "Now... You can keep experimenting. Or..." he kissed her lips again lightly and for only a brief moment. Shawn didn't think that the last part needed to be explained. It was a great way to pass the time. He knew which one he would choose but he left the decision up to her.
Heeere we go again. Lily stopped giggling at Shawn's new hairstyle as he put her down onto the bed. Back on the bed, again, in such a short time. She was suddenly very aware of the fact that she was still wearing a bathrobe and only a bathrobe, and also that he was wearing even less. The blush crept back onto her cheeks, darker than before. She was not used to this. Not used to this at all. It was not the powers, or the mission, or anything that had to do with her mutant nature - it was just him, and her, and a whole world of things she hadn't experienced before. It was tempting, and exciting, and too much to process in such a short time. "Now... You can keep experimenting. Or..." She was done. As soon as his lips touched hers, she was done with the worries and the plans. She was also done with thinking. Too much. "Do I have to choose?" she asked, and it came out as a whisper, and she had no idea why, there was no one who could have overheard them anyway. He was doing it again, making her senses dizzy just by being so close, and she ran her hands up his arms to hold on to him, and because she could. She wanted to say something, but what was it again?...

Do I have to choose?"
Her whisper seemed to hardly come out. There was no one but them two that would hear them but still... The whisper seemed appropriate for the moment. Anything louder might have seemed to loud and have ruined the delicate balance that they were entwined in. Yes it was true that he was hardly wearing anything, but so was she. Nothing was so important at that moment as the two of them and Streak Knew that. In the back of his mind he knew that nothing was going to interrupt him and Lily's current agenda. However, it did seem like neither of them wanted to make the next move for fear of moving to fasts or going to far past the others boundaries. This was especially true for Shawn. He didn't want to make Lily feel uncomfortable at the moment. That's why he left the decision up to her.
"Yes you do." Streak said just as softly. He knew that he wanted to kiss her for the rest of the day. Anything and everything else that was going on in their lives could wait until they were done with their current happenings. Shawn felt that if he chose for her then it would be a selfish choice and that he would maybe make her want to shy away from him and make the mission and their situation more awkward. For him, at least, this was helping because he knew where they stood and he wasn't worried about that. In fact he didn't have to worry about them anymore. He only needed to think about how to keep her and not mess up what they had right now. Streak held himself just inches above Lily; a small smile on his face waiting to see what she was going to say. He waited for her decision to see if he was pushing her too far or if she was okay with this direction that their seemingly speedy relationship was taking.
She wondered how he was doing it. How he managed to make her mind go all foggy and her senses burn (okay so that one might have been the silver... was it just her, or did it really light up as his hear rate sped up?), and at the same time how he managed to make her feel so safe. Before they left on the mission, Lily promised herself: no damsel-in-distress nonsense. She'll suck it up and do what they were sent here to do, and no whining and no innocent little girl. Definitely no needing-a-guy-to-protect-you. Yeah, so much about that. Because now here she was, in the middle of something not at all innocent, and Shawn felt like the only steady thing in the universe, or at least in this corner of it. She looked into the silver eyes, blush creeping into her face. The sane part of her mind had a life of her own and was busy listing all the very good, sane, logical reasons against what had been suggested without words. Very good reasons. To hell with them. Thus having made things easier, Lily relaxed, and chuckled at him, dimples showing again on her cheeks. "You are my first boyfriend, Shawn. You are an experiment as you are." she pointed out, weaving her fingers into his hair once again to pull his head down. There, decision made. On her part. She waited to see what his answer was.

"You are my first boyfriend, Shawn. You are an experiment as you are."
Streak stopped in his tracks. Did she just say what he though she said? Oh boy. These never seemed to turn out well for him. He wasn't sure why but they never did. Although for some reason Shawn didn't seem to worry too much because this relationship seemed different somehow. Yes they were going at about the same speed, however, he did think that the mission would slow down any further accelerations in their current situation. Lily's hands moved through his hair just before it registered in his mind what she'd said. She had already pulled him closer to her. He pulled his head back away from hers a little. "Wait. What did you just say?" He wanted to make sure he'd heard her right. The silvermancer couldn't believe what she was saying. It wasn't so much the fact that he thought she was lying but it just sounded like something that was so rare and unheard of, especially at their age, that it sounded almost made up.
Although considering what kind of background she came from he thought it rather odd for her to even go for a guy as different as him. He wasn't a guy raised with riches or fancy cars, or fancy classes. No. He was raised on a farm, worked hard his whole life, and went to public schools where he received probably below standard education from teachers that didn't want to be teaching kids. Then again isn't that how it worked in the movies? Didn't the two more unlikely people always seem to get together in certain movies? Shawn, however, looked into her eyes to see if he could discern any amount of a joke coming from her. The silver eyed man pushed himself up so that his arms were locked straight on either side of Lily. That was certainly a mood resetter if he'd ever heard of one. How do you recover from that without sounding like it was something he'd heard a million times and it was no big deal. Of course making it out to be no big deal was something that probably wouldn't have had the best outcome. Thus Streak decided it was probably best for him to face what she'd said up front.
Wait, this was not supposed to happen. Lily looked up when Shawn pulled back, and saw the confusion-in-silver, and she could tell she did something wrong, even without any previous experience of this kind. "Wait. What did you just say?" Oh bummer. Her face was deep red within seconds, she'd never felt this embarrassed in her life. Also, she was angry with herself. Trust it to Lily to ruin the moment. Why didn't any of those expensive teachers in those private schools ever teach them what to say in situations like this? Or, rather, what not to say. She bit her lips and wanted to look away, but with Shawn this close to her it was difficult to look anywhere that wasn't him. She realized her hands were still in his hair, and pulled them back. Awkward... He was staring at her as if he'd been waiting for something. Oh. Right. "Um... I've never had a boyfriend before?..." she whispered, glancing up at him to see his reaction before looking away again. She'd never had any problem with that before. She had a lot on her mind, especially since her powers manifested, and she was smart enough to know being a mutant changed her dating option forever. And it's not like no one eves showed interest towards her... there were all kinds of young men, bringing flowers and whatnot, but Shawn... he was so much different. She just really hoped she didn't manage to ruin the whole thing they had.

The situations mood had definitely changed. Lily's admonition of this fact came as a surprise. He didn't expect her to say anything like that. There we a couple of reasons that she might have said this. One reason was that she trusted him enough to admit her naïvety. This was a good thing because trust was something that usually took some time to earn. Although they seemed to be moving fast it was a great thing that their trust level had kept up with their other feelings for each other. Now it seemed that their trust had exceeded their other feelings. Or two.. she'd admitted this to him to see if it would scare him away or make him slow down. Slowing down was definitely something that he was doing right now. And if that was her plan it was working.
Streak looked at her once again. It was cute when her face went bright red. Of course he didn't like making her embarrassed but he still thought it was cute. Also judging by her reaction to him she hadn't meant for her comment to stop anything. He'd forgotten that she'd had her hands in his hair. He remembered it when she removed them from his head. Streak was still waiting for her to say she was joking. Apparently she wasn't.
"Um... I've never had a boyfriend before?..."
It seemed like he'd just made this more awkward than it already was by having her repeat what she'd said. Shawn was then, at that moment, very aware of how he was positioned over Jewel. It might make this easier if she could sit up. Either that or she would try to not look at him entirely when he let her sit up. It just didn't seem possible that she'd never had a boyfriend before. She wasn't unattractive and he just thought it impossible that no one had ever asked her out before. Streak decided to let her sit up. He got off her and sat facing her on the bed. "Do we need to discuss this? Or was that just an FYI thing? But why did you tell me that?" He was curious as to why she did that, but then again, he did want to know if he was right about this theory on why she told him that.
Shawn didn't seem to believe her. It didn't exactly make things easier. Lily was already flushed, having to admit... what she had just admitted, let alone doing it twice. Apparently he didn't know how to react to it either, so he pulled back, and she sighed, burying her face in her hands. "Do we need to discuss this? Or was that just an FYI thing? But why did you tell me that?" No, she was not getting out of this. Sitting up, her instinctive reaction was to curl up and rest her chin on her knees - unfortunately, the bathrobe was not designed to allow that and keep her decent at the same time. So she settled for just sitting up, and ran her fingers through her hair. If only the blush would go away. "Um... I don't know, I just... thought you'd want to know." she muttered "It's just a heads up, that I'm... um, I've gut stuff to learn." No, that just didn't sound right. Lily chuckled at herself and looked down, examining her hands. "Guess I just learned how to ruin the moment."

"Um... I don't know, I just... thought you'd want to know." "It's just a heads up, that I'm... um, I've gut stuff to learn." "Guess I just learned how to ruin the moment."
He could tell that he'd made her nervous and embarrassed beyond all belief. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you so uncomfortable." Streak said. Lily ran her fingers through her hair and he could tell that Lily probably wanted to hide in the closet or disappear more than explain herself. He still didn't understand. "How is that possible? You're beautiful. And I'm not just saying that cause we made out and slept together." Streak smiled. He couldn't help but find the situation a little amusing. "Well that is good to know. At least now I know that you're pretty much making this up as you go." He was trying to lighten up the mood so that Lily wasn't so embarrassed. But to be honest he wasn't too sure with how he was doing at that task.
Unfortunately this didn't make it easier for him. If she'd have had more experience then maybe she would be taking this in the direction that she wanted instead of going with whatever he was doing. Maybe. "Well I didn't want to say nothin' but... ya congrats on that. But if I were you I would have waited to ruin the moment a little later on. But that's just me." Shawn couldn't stop himself from chuckling at her. A lot to learn huh? I don't think that's what she meant. "Look I don't want to make you do anything that'll make you uncomfortable ok? There had to be more to it than you just wanting to make me aware of that little factoid. Like you felt like we're moving to fast. Am I wrong?" Streak asked gently his hand on her chin and lifting her head up so that she could look directly at him when she answered him.
"How is that possible? You're beautiful. And I'm not just saying that cause we made out and slept together." Lily smiled at that. The blush was still there, but now she had something pleasant to blush about. Not like no one had ever told you she was beautiful. But this was one of the rare occasions when she felt like he meant it. "Well I didn't want to say nothin' but... ya congrats on that. But if I were you I would have waited to ruin the moment a little later on. But that's just me." So she did ruin it. Duh. Mental slap to herself. She'll remember to take that advice next time. Yes, she had a lot of stuff to learn about relationships. If this was ever going to get that far. "Look I don't want to make you do anything that'll make you uncomfortable ok? There had to be more to it than you just wanting to make me aware of that little factoid. Like you felt like we're moving to fast. Am I wrong?" She turned to look at Shawn, and smiled a shy smile. "I just... didn't want to make you uncomfortable, because I don't really know... what to do." she muttered "I figured someone... inexperienced like me would need a lot of patience and stuff." looking up at him, she suddenly had the urge to snuggle, and so she did, burying her face in his neck "I don't really know why. I always got asked out, you know, in a polite way. Flowers and dancing and letters, but it never... went beyond that. Most guys treated me like I was someone very... fragile. Dad probably would have killed them if they didn't." she chuckled "I think that's what my girl friends called 'high maintenance'."
