The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Here's the secret. Order a drink that you have to drink slowly. One that you can taste the alcohol with and need to drink a lot slower than the other person. Then you won't get as drunk because it'll take you longer to get all the alcohol in your system." Lily nodded, her eyes narrowing as she tried to make sure she'll remember this next time. If there was ever going to be a next time. Right now drinking alcohol was about the last thing on her to-do list. Just thinking about it made her dizzy. "Look at me. You're beating yourself up well enough that I wont have to continue this. I can tell you feel bad about it and I'm sure that you wont be forgetting this for a while." "Yeah you are right..." she murmured, smiling as he kissed her cheek "I learned the lesson..." She was glad this part was over. Shawn seemed to have calmed down, which was a good thing, he was always the reasonable one, and he had enough to deal with already, even without having to deal with his team getting piss drunk. He was such a nice guy. Lily snuggled up to him, looking up with half lidded eyes. "It's going to be okay, Shawn. We are going to make things right here, and then we will go home." she murmured "We are a good team, and you are a good leader." She yawned into the last past. She didn't mean to. "But y'know you need some sleep too... sooo... how about you quit worrying for tonight, and... get some rest? We have work to do... tomorrow."

Streak wasn't so sure that Lily was right. The 'what if's' started playing in his head. He didn't need those right now. He hoped she was right. Although things would never be completely vack to the way they were before this mission. Streak knew that for a fact. America still hadn't returned to the way it was before the government passed the registration act there. It never would be the same; however, it did make things better for the country after it was over. People were more aware that mutants deserved rights just like humans did.
"I hope your right." He said laying down next to her as she snuggled up to him. "That sounds like a great idea. We can work tomorrow. Tonight we sleep." Shawn agreed. He wrapped his arms around Lily and closed his eyes. His exhaustion was finally catching up to him as he laid of this bed.
"I hope your right... That sounds like a great idea. We can work tomorrow. Tonight we sleep." Lily sighed and rested her head on his shoulder. "I am fine, Shawn. Really I am. I am... pretty drunk, but I am fine..." She reached behind her and pulled the blanket over them, wriggling closer for warmth and protection and mostly because it felt nice. "Now shush, go to sleep." she chuckled softly, and planted a kiss on his neck because that was the only part she could reach without moving her head, and fell asleep. This night didn't turn out so bad after all.

It was morning before he stirred. His arm was draped over Lily's body and the covers had been pulled over them both. When did this get here? Streak wondered as he turned to look at the clock. The clock showed 10 am. He hadn't slept this late in a while. Dreaming came easy and nicely for him that night. He didn't have to wonder why. He knew exactly why that was. he wasn't the drunk one last night. She was. This was the reason for the talk they had last night. It went very well, and she wasn't mad at him for what he'd said. That is if she remembered anything that he'd said to her last night.
Streak looked at her snuggled up to him and smiled. He kissed her on the cheek and the forehead. He didn't want to move to much but he did think it was time for them to get up. Shawn then put his mouth very close to her ear and whispered. "Time to get up Lily." He pulled the blankets down and waited for her to stir.
"Time to get up Lily." Yes it probably was. She could see the light through her eyelids; it was unusually strong, or did she just feel like it was?... And not just sunlight either, there was a different kind of light, dancing around her senses... Silver?... Lily's eyes flew open. "Shawn?... Ouch." okay, so this was probably not a good idea. Her head hurt like hell; it started the minute she opened her eyes, and now there was no going back to sleep. Good morning, hangover. Memories came flooding back. Alex... pub... Hurricane... singing... Kaz... Sam... Shawn... Hmmm. All right, she was not missing anything too important. Hopefully. They were dressed, check. In his bed, check. Lily let out the breath she was holding and allowed herself a smile. "Mmmmornin'..." she murmured, snuggling closer. Ouch, talking hurt. Moving did too. "Daaaamn...." she moaned "I feel like hell..."

Shawn laughed a little. He tried not to make his laugh to loud because it was obvious that she had a hangover from the night before. "Morning, drunky. How are ya feeling?" Streak asked. He knew the answer but it would still be funny for him to hear the answer. She apparently didn't want to get up. He usually didn't want to get up or do anything when he had a hangover. Luckily enough he hadn't had a hangover in a while. Usually one of his hangovers ruined his entire day. But then again he didn't have anyone to take care of his hangover like he was going to do for her right now. He tried to move very little as she snuggled closer to him.
"That's called a hangover sweetie. That's why we don't drink on missions." Shawn said sounding like he was talking to a kid and smiling at her. He was still trying to hold back a laugh from escaping his lips. It didn't matter who it was he still found it funny to see other people regretting their previous nights adventures, by way of hangovers. Shawn was a little sorry to see that Lily was one of those people at the moment. But it still brought a smile to his face anyways.
"That's called a hangover sweetie. That's why we don't drink on missions." "It sucks" Lily agreed from the bottom of her hear as she rolled onto her back, rubbing her eyes. It didn't really help. It made things worse. "Owww... I will never, ever..." She sighed, and stilled, almost as if she's fallen asleep again. As if she could. Duh. Experiencing a hangover for the first time in her life during a mission was nowhere near being fun. Still. Experiencing it in Shawn's bed was not the worst thing that could have happened. A smile tugged at her lips as she ran her fingers through her hair, trying to pull herself together. She kicked off the blanket, stretching; she felt she could sleep for a week more, if only the damned headache would stop... "It huuuuurts..." she whined "Why do people drink alcohol?..."

Shawn sat up in bed once he knew that Lily was awake. She apparently wasn't taking the hangover very well. he smiled and remembered the first time he had a hangover. He handled it just about as well as she did. There was always something that could help a hangover. It didn't fix it but it really did help. Breakfast. He actually wondered if they even served breakfast at this time of day. Most places didn't stop serving breakfast until eleven but that didn't mean that this place was like all the other places.
"Owww... I will never, ever..." "It huuuuurts..." "Why do people drink alcohol?..."
"Ya right." Streak said disbelieving. So many people seemed to utter that phrase the night after heavy drinking. Even he'd said it a couple of times. The silver eyed mutant noticed that she was messing with her hair like she didn't want him to see what she looked like when she'd just woken up. "Relax Jewel. You don't have to get all dolled up right now you don't have to impress anyone." He said smiling. Streak didn't care at all because he'd already told her how he feels and it wasn't going to change just based on how she looks when she wakes up. "How about some breakfast Lily? It'll help." Streak said to her picking up the phone and pulling the menu out of the drawer next to his bed.
"Relax Jewel. You don't have to get all dolled up right now you don't have to impress anyone." Good. That was good, because she had no hope for looking like a human being anytime soon. She managed to sit up though, resting her elbows on her knees, resting her forehead in her palms. "It's an evil, evil thing..." she frowned. The situation was getting amusing. Just a tiny little bit. She'll appreciate it later. "How about some breakfast Lily? It'll help." "If you say so..." she nodded, carefully not to make her head hurt even worse. Her first thought was do you really want me to throw up on your bed?, but if he said it would help, it was worth a shot. She moved over to rest her chin on Shawn's shoulder and peek at the menu. She needed to lean against his back, it was much more comfortable and kept her from falling back down onto the bed. Because that was a really tempting option right now. "I wonder how Alex is doing..." she murmured, smiling a tiny evil smile. Not like she didn't hope everything was fine with their friends in the other rooms. She hoped their night turned out well too. Not to mention the morning...

"I wonder how Alex is doing..."
To tell the truth he hadn't even been thinking about Alex and Sam all that much. He shrugged. Even with Lily resting her head on his shoulder he was able to shrug. He didn't mind having her lean against his back. After all she probably would have gone back to sleep if she'd laid down again. But even so, it was nice that their conversation last night had been something she remembered, or seemed to remember. Once again he felt the tug on the silver in his back and his shoulder. He couldn't get away from that feeling with any area that she touched. It was nice to.
"I doubt their conversation was as pleasant as ours was." He said once he'd decided on what to eat. It was going to be a simple breakfast for him and probably for her as well. He was also going to order a couple of Tylenol for her headache. Shawn figured that it couldn't hurt and the combination of breakfast and Tylenol would help her hangover. Provided she didn't throw up, that is. After dialing the phone it rang for a few times before someone answered it. "Hello? Yes, I'd like to order room service to room 509. I'd like to order eggs scrambled with toast and potatoes. And I'd also like..." Streak then looked at Lily. He didn't know if she'd decided yet or not. Turning his head to her, away from the phone, he asked, "Do you know what you want?"
"I doubt their conversation was as pleasant as ours was." Lily chuckled and wrapped her arms around his waist. "You can bet on that. I just hope they are both still alive..." "Do you know what you want?" Lily wrinkled her nose as she looked at the menu over his shoulder. Decisions, decisions. She decided to go with the easiest solution. "Same's fine for me too." she concluded and sat back on the bed, really tempted once again to go back to sleep "Or whatever makes hangover go away. I guess you know more about that than I do..." Lily knew there were all kinds of advice for dealing with hangover. She heard about it in school. She discarded it too, because she was planning on living her life without ever getting drunk. Like good girls do. So much about that. Temptation was too great to handle. Lily fell back on the bed and rolled onto her stomach with a sigh. "I'll just wait here till room service comes..." she muttered.

"And I'll have another order of the same thing. Thanks. Oh and two Tylenol." Streak said when Jewel had decided to take the easy way out. "Hey I've only had a hangover like once... or maybe twice. So I'm not exactly an expert at them." He admitted to her. Shawn laughed as she fell back onto the bed. Finally Streak's curiosity got the best of him. He laid back down on the bed next to Lily. He had to ask her, "So. Do you remember anything we talked about last night?" He wasn't completely sure that she did but the way she reacted when he woke her up meant that she might have missed bits and pieces of it.
"I'll just wait here till room service comes..."
"Yes you will." Streak said looking at her. He had no intention of letting her leave before they had breakfast. After all he'd taken the time to order it for her, she was going to enjoy it. It would also work better than having her walking around the hotel with a hangover the rest of the day. Shawn didn't know if Lily had any other plans in mind, because their missions didn't even start until the night time.
"So. Do you remember anything we talked about last night?" Lily buried her face in the pillow, and smirked. Of course she remembered, she hadn't been that drunk. Well, maybe she had. But still, she was pretty sure she had all the important pieces. Apparently Streak was not sure either. Fun. "Naaah, not really" she murmured into the pillow "I was totally wasted..." She waited for a few seconds till she managed to wipe the grin off and arrange her face into a confused expression. "I don't really... know how we got home from the pub. Um..." She had to look away. Her head was killing her, but suddenly this was just too amusing to pass up. "Did I do something embarrassing?..."

"Naaah, not really" "I was totally wasted..." "I don't really... know how we got home from the pub. Um..." "Did I do something embarrassing?..."
"That's what I thought." Streak said. It seemed pretty obvious that she was joking around although Streak thought it would be fun to play along. Maybe he could even get her believing something that he said. "No nothing too embarrassing. Now are you talking about before or after you went running around the hotel naked? and I had to get you back in your clothes. Believe me that was no fun." His smile broadened at thinking how much fun this would be, especially if he could get her to think that what he was saying was true.
"Then there was the whole you thought you could fly thing and started to flap your arms around like a bird." Shawn continued. It was going to take about ten minutes before the food was delivered to their room. He would have to find something else to come up with something later. Although if she believed any of what he'd said he would have a lot more fun coming up with some other ridiculous thing 'that she did while drunk'.
"No nothing too embarrassing. Now are you talking about before or after you went running around the hotel naked? and I had to get you back in your clothes. Believe me that was no fun." Ooops. Lily's eyes widened for a second. She almost bought it. Hey, it was her first experience with being drunk and who knows maybe someone can lost pieces without ever noticing there was something missing from the timeline... like running around naked till... Wait a minute. Nooo way. Lily frowned, lifting her head to look at him. She was half amused and half curious what else he would come up with. "Then there was the whole you thought you could fly thing and started to flap your arms around like a bird." A smile tugged at her lips and she hat to bite it to keep herself from giggling. "You wanna know how I know you are making that up?" she tilted her head at him, placing a hand on his chest and letting her powers pull on his silver "No guy on the planet would put a girl back into her clothes once she's naked."
