The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The only response Nika recieved was a low dull voice telling her to get out of the way followed by the hallway being destoyed as a blast wave and many broken items flew at the cat girl. The quickest and only thing she could do was turn away from the flying debri drop to the floor and curl into a ball until it past her by.
Pieces of glass and wood stuck into her back and parts of her arms and legs just as the blast wave hit. It was stronger than she had figured as it kicked her off the floor and sent her flying further down the hallway. Not wanting to hit the wall at the other end of the hall Nika used her claws to dig into the entry to one of the side rooms and strained to hold on until the blast was gone.
Once she could stand again Nika could feel her adrenaline pumping furiously. Her veins felt like they were on fire and everything was moving in slow motion. She let out a feral roar and charged back at Iris with blinding speed. Tackling Iris she rolled through and kicked Iris off sending her into one of the actual doors in the hallway. Iris crashed through the wooden door and landed half way into the room. Before Iris could lift her head up Nika had already pounced on her and pinned her to the floor. "STOP IT IRIS!!"

Iris may as well have been made of adamantium for as much effect as Nika's attack seemed to have on her. Her brain registered the pain level as she crashed through the door, and decided to ignore it for the time being. But her body couldn't afford to feel too many more similar attacks.
The creature pounced on her, and another set of pains stabbed at her shoulders. Claws. Her mind identified the threat, and sent a message to her arms. They snapped up and grabbed the creature's wrists, digging her nails in.
"Let go," her voice still low.
As if in tune with her motions and emotions, the screech again raised in volume. Iris pushed up, shoving Nika away as hard as she could. Her right hand, the one sporting the opal, drew back, clenched into a fist and slammed toward Nika's face, sending her back out into the hallway. She stood, and looked down. Blood was seeping from claw holes in her shoulders, dying her torn shirt bright crimson. This creature was becoming a dangerous threat, and needed to be eliminated before she could continue her search for the exit.
Iris stepped back out into the hallway, her eyes dancing with cold, multi-colored fire, searching for her opponent.
Nika kept hoping for iris to return to her normal self but to no avail as she was punched in the face and sent back out into the hallway. The pain only increased her adrenaline flow. Blood was running out of her nose now but she had a bloody nose before so she ignored it. The cat girl was slipping more and more into a feral mode as more of her power was kicking in.
Rolling off to the side of the doorway she got into a squated down position. The second Iris was fully back into the hallway Nika charged forward with all her might and firmly planted her right shoulder into Iris' side causing the girl to duoble over from the sheer force of the impact. The two girls tumbled and rolled down the hall a few feet and yet again Nika used her cat reflexes and kicked Iris up into and through the ceiling sending her into a different part of the mansion. Not letting the girl out of her sight Nika jump up through the hole to follow Iris.

Michael had followed Nika up the stairs, only to se her attacking Iris. “Nika! Stop it! We don’t want to hurt her!” He yelled out, hoping that the cat girl would listen. Just as he caught up Nika slammed Iris through a ceiling. He cringed at the thought of the damage that would do, as he knew the kind of force needed to do that having been through two ceilings today.
Then the new guy arrived and caged Iris. “Thanks man, she’s gonna try and break out, can you see if you can keep her caged, at least until she calms down.” Turning back to the hole Michael jumped and just caught the edged of it. Hauling himself up he reached the floor above where Nika and Iris where.
Grabbing Nika’s shoulders he pulled her back from Iris. “Nika, you carry on like this and you’ll kill her. You have to stop attacking her, we want to contain her. We are going to try and get her into the danger room, stop her there.” Looking around at the third floor surroundings he realised that job had just gotten a whole lot harder.

Mettaliar saw Nika and Iris begin to fight and decided to follow to watch closely. He quickly got behind Michael and followed them to see Iris being caged. He sighed a sigh of relief and stood there staring at the glass. He felt kind of bad for Iris, yet knew it was for the best. Then he got an idea.
"Hey, how much pressure can that thing withstand?" he asked the guy who made it.

<“That hurt!”> Iris couldn’t ignore that last hit, and she literally saw stars. As she lay on the floor, the sound storm increased to near deafening in sync with her pain level. The pitch was low this time, and it sounded as if a train was rumbling through the Mansion. Items in the room shook and rattled, and the broken floor creaked and groaned. As her pain subsided a bit, so did the noise. It took several minutes before it slowed to a steady, annoying buzz. Iris slowly got to her hands and knees.
She found herself in a glass cage, locked in on all sides, with more creatures staring at her from the outside. She couldn’t hear what they were saying, so she ignored them and turned to survey her surroundings instead.
This must have been an attic at one point, perhaps a second storage space. Boxed were, or had been, stacked along the walls. Dust had been kicked up by the scuffle and was floating in the air. Iris sneezed reflexively, sending another wave of pain through her sides. The noise increased briefly, then died down once more. Iris didn’t realize it, but though she wasn’t showing any outward pain, the sound storm was reacting to it. The more she hurt, the louder the storm wailed.
She took a deep, slow breath, testing herself. Her sides caught briefly; she must have either bruised or broken some ribs in that last tussle with Nika. That could present a problem.
She looked up. There were several hooks in the ceiling above and to one side of her. Various items hung from them; torn clothes and costumes, broken holiday decorations, and other things. She turned her head sideways and imagined she saw another door on the far wall, while in reality there was none. It would be a risky maneuver, and would most likely send her pain over the edge.
But she had to get out!
With a speed that defied the strain her body was under she turned toward her captors. The storm raised in volume and pitch to nails-on-a-chalkboard level, pulsing painfully. She raised her leg, as if to stomp on a bug. But when her foot came down a massive BOOOOMM!!!! shook that part of the Mansion. The floor gave a huge shudder, then collapsed beneath them. At the same time the roof of her cage exploded outward. As it collapsed she made a running leap at one wall, pushed off toward the other, and repeated the move, propelling herself up and out. She reached out to grab at the hook. Her vision blurred as fire pierced her side, but she forced herself to hang on as the floor and most of the rooms contents collapsed into the hallway below.
The ceiling creaked and groaned; that hook wasn’t going to hold forever, and neither was Iris. Eventually she managed to swing her body back and forth, letting go at the right moment to land on solid ground, of sorts. She landed on her feet.
And felt something in her left ankle tear. Even though the opal robbed her of emotion, a sharp cry left her throat as she fell.
Her mind faltered for a moment; she was about to black out again. But she wasn’t safe yet. She struggled to her knees. The sound storm was shrieking like a demon by then, giving vent to all of the hurt she was experiencing. One final blast knocked a hole in the wall just large enough for her to crawl through. She pulled herself into another supply room, and collapsed.
Slowly the ear-splitting screams began to calm, then faded away completely, leaving behind an eerie, deathly silence.
(OOC: Need another four-minute reprieve to switch again. lol Haywire effect hasn't worn off yet, so no one should be able to reach Iris just yet, 'kay? )

Michael stopped moving as the floor began to shake. Then a boom form Iris caused the floor to collapse. Falling he hit the floor below hard. Getting quickly to his feet he looked around at the others.
“Any of you guys hurt?” he asked. While the fall was only a nuisance to him it could have seriously injured someone else. Turning to look back up he just saw Iris swing into the other room, then the noise stopped.
“I think she’s out again, but last time she did this she came back with a different power in a few minutes. If anyone has an idea I’m open to suggestions.” He really hoped someone had a plan, as this was just going from bad to worse.

Mettaliar's ears burned when Iris began to raise the pitch and volume of the sound. He was brought to his knees again as the pain was too much. Soundly he heard a loud bang and felt himself fall. He tried to reach out and grab something yet could not grab anything and fell to the next floor. He layed down and quickly sprang up to his feet, turning to Michael.
"I'm fine, and I know your fine. What about you guys?" He quickly thought of something. "Hey, wheres...." he rapidly cut himself off as he saw Iris land about 2 feet away. Instinct told him to take her down, yet he did not want to risk a deadly sound blast. He watched as Iris made another large boom to take down a bit of the wall and crawl in. He ran to the was and heard the sound fade.
"Dammit, not this again." He quickly came up with an idea. "Hey Michael, you wanna help get this wall broken down a bit? Maybe we can carry her to the danger room in case the effect hasn't worn off."

Michael came over to Mettaliar. “I’ll give it my best shot, can you create and axe for me, as I don’t have super strength so can’t rip it down with my bare hands. The walls I made holes in down stairs were from Ted smashing me through them.”
If they could get to Iris and get her to the danger room before she woke up then hopefully this would all be over.
(OOC: Iris, is it Ok if me and Mettaliar break through just as you wake up?)

Shawn was walking down the hall and heard a lot of commotion. He ran towards it and expanded his silver all over his body so that when he got there he was covered in silver. He walked up to the nearest person and said "Hey whats going on? I heard all of the commotion."
Shawn got himself ready for a fight with whoever it was they were fighting.

Mettaliar nodded his head and held his hands out. He concentrated as the ax appeared to take shape. He looked it up and down trying to get it as good as he could. Finally he was done and twirled around a bit. He stepped back from Michael so his wouldn't get hit. He felt the blades to test the sharpness. He approved and twirled the ax so that his hand was near the head of the ax and handed it to Michael, handle towards him.
It didn't take long for the guys to catch up as Nika was getting ready for anything iris might try to do next. However, she wasn't prepared for some sort of see through box to appear around Iris and a new guy to join in. The poor cat girl continually covered her ears whenever that strange sound Iris made got louder. Everytime it got too loud it made Nika drop to her knees and cry out. She thought her ear drums were going to burst.
Suddenly there was a loud BOOOOM! and the floor gave way down to the hallways the girls were previously in. Thankfully Nika landed on her feet. Michael asked if everyone was ok. "I'm fine." The girl wasn't in the mood to go into detail as she didn't want to lose Iris.

Ali followed everyone up to the second floor but she stayed back. Good thing too since the ceiling came crashing down along with the group who had been chasing Iris. The redhead just shook her head and continued to stay back for the moment waiting to see what was going to happen next.

Shawn got up from the impact of the explosion rubbing his head. "I'm fine." He followed everyone up the to the second floor and decided that he should help. He came up to the pile of everyone and saw Kez and asked "What are we trying to do with her?" However he thought he had a pretty good idea that they needed to contain her for a while.

Iris lay on her side on the floor of the supply room. Her body was beginning to show the strain of the ordeal. Her normally tan skin was pale, her grey eyes dull and lifeless. She wasn’t superhuman in any way; despite her mutation, she had the same physical and mental limitations of an ‘above average’ human. Her endurance and pain tolerance may have been higher than usual, but her body could still only take so much punishment. She had nearly reached her limit.
Unfortunately, Haywire wasn’t done with her yet.
A low moan escaped her throat as pain again stabbed through her head and neck. Her gut wrenched in dry heaves, and her vision spun. She could do little more than whimper as her mutation spun out of control a third time. The blonde hair and grey eyes gave way to a chilly blue. Frost formed and crept along her skin. Her shallow breath came in foggy bursts. Soon the convulsions stopped.
<“So... tired....”>
A sheet of ice began to form beneath her still form., slowly creeping over the floor. It reached the walls, and crept upward. Above her on the ceiling a spike of ice began to take shape. As it grew, more spikes appeared from its sides, forming a beautiful, chandelier-like sculpture. Ice covered the ceiling and moved out and down, merging with that coming from the floor. Soon the room resembled an ice cave, beautiful, but frigid and still.
As if it were alive, the ice began to take over. It expanded outward, into the hallways and down the walls, making its way to the stairs, and down them. It froze anything and anyone it touched, encasing it like an icy, motionless sculpture. Every now and then a thick icicle would form and jut out, growing and multiplying into an ice version of rock crystal.
It also expanded on the outside the Mansion, up toward the roof of the building and down toward the ground. It filled any cracks in the wood and drywall, expanding, cracking and crumbling various walls. Soon, from the outside of the building, one corner of the Mansion appeared to be encased in glass. Inside, the ice began to form a maze of the hallways and rooms, taking over parts of the third, second and first floors, and part of the stairs. Finally it stopped its advance just short of the infirmary, encasing one wall in its icy grip. (See (Open) Kinda need a little help...)
Inside the supply room, at its center, the air was colder than a freezer, and as still as a tomb. Iris’s chest barely moved as the ice crept over her body, numbing away all pain and feeling. Her unseeing eyes had closed to mere slits. She felt so... tired....
<“I... don’t want... to fight... anymore...”>
(OOC: This advancement will take place over the space of about five to ten minutes, so feel free to ignore it at first and continue with your posting. Also, feel free to god-mod a bit with the ice as well. Just keep in mind that it is acting as if it is alive; it will react to anything that touches or attacks it, and attack right back. Just burning your way through won’t work right away, because it will fight back. It will take a long while to reach Iris, so make it hard on yourselves, ‘kay? Also, please allow time for Nicki and Raina to join, as we’ve worked out a way for them to join the battle as well once Raina is healed. Any questions, please PM me. Thank you kindly.)
