The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

(OOC: Continued from Iris's return home... Sorry, god-modding just a bit to move the battle indoors. If anyone has a problem with it, please let me know via PM? Thank you kindly.
They're taking you away.... Going to lock you up.... It's dark again.... Stop them.... You must get out.... Find a way out.... I don't want to go.... I can't see, can't hear.... Have to get.... out... away.... far away....
On the surface Iris was literally a mess; torn, muddy and wet clothes and hair, skin burned slightly in various places. And her breathing was shallow. But the mess in her head was even worse.
Although unconscious, voices echoed back and forth in Iris's dreams; the Haywire effect hadn't yet worn off, and was trying to convince her that she was still in danger. The suggestions of calmness battled back, trying to soothe her subconscious.
Unfortunately, Haywire was winning.
Iris was unaware of being lifted or carried, and the surrounding voices were still garbled. She seemed harmless now, but her body was quickly reseting itself. Water was out of commission for a while, but there were four others to choose from, two of which could be potential problems. And the well-meaning group headed closer to the Mansion were unaware. Iris moaned slightly, and shuddered. Her hair began changing again, but the change wasn't as noticeable at first like the others, though it seemed to change with the angle of light.
Have to get.... out... away.... far away....
The one holding Iris stepped into the foyer of the Mansion. It was as if a light switch had been flipped on.
Her eyes snapped open. Without moving her head, her eyes darted around, taking in her surroundings, warped as she saw them. She saw a figure looming over her, carrying her toward a door. Her arm shot out, then inward, elbowing her captor in the stomach as hard as she could manage, then brought her fist upward toward his chin. She struggled free from his grasp, landing on the floor on her side. She paused there for a moment, as if collecting her thoughts, then got slowly to her feet. When she looked back at the group she was almost completely different from the woman that had gone crazy outside. The terror was gone, as was any other emotion, and she stood her ground against them. The only similarity was the glazed look in her eyes, which now seemed to be constantly changing colors along with her hair.
She looked around, analyzing her surroundings. Her eyes saw a hallway of doors, all closed, spirialling into infinity. One of them had to let her out, but which one?
A hair-raising sound began to be heard, raising and lowering in volume, pitch and frequency, the kind that would make dogs whine and break glass if it got high enough. She turned and began heading down the 'hallway', which in reality turned out to be in the direction of the living room.

As Isis awoke and attacked the loud mouth he saw her hair and eyes change colour. “Aw crap, here we go again.” The piercing sound disrupted any thoughts of calm and quiet as he moved to place himself between Iris and everyone else.
“Someone please tell me what this power is, as it sure isn’t water control. Also, someone might want to check the guys in the infirmary and make sure Ted is kept away from Iris, as I don’t think I can contain him again, not with Iris inside as well.”
As he mentioned containing Ted he had an idea. “Guys, do you think if we could get her down into the danger room we could contain her there? In there she could vent all her power safely until she calms down, what do you think?”
He watched as Iris headed down a corridor, not exactly sure where it lead to. He hoped towards the danger room and that the others thought his plan would work, or better yet had a plan of their own.

Mettaliar followed the guy inside and put his hands in his pockets. He thought the action was over, yet he was wrong. Very, very wrong. He suddenly saw Iris awaken and brake free from the guy carrying her. As soon as she landed she had turned around and faced them. Mettaliar thought of making a staff immediatly, yet he didn't and was waiting to see if Iris was ok or not. He gulped and spoke up.
"Iris... are you ok?"
His question was answered by a change in hair and eye color along with whaling sound that annoyed him to no end. As soon as that was all done he looked up to see Iris begin to run away again. With that he finally made a regular staff and was a bout to run until he heard Michaels idea. He thought it through and nodded his head.
"Technically that should work. As long as she's all alone and nothing is turned on she'll think she's safe and calm down a lot faster. But we have to follow her so she doesn't hurt anyone or do anything. So c'mon!" he said dashing after the girl.
Fiona almost shouted again when she felt herself be lifted off the mansion roof but contained it when she realized she had been finally put down on the ground. Rolling her eyes at the other man who had called her immature and ignorant, she smirked, knowing that at that point in time he was the most obnoxious man involved in this whole situation. Shrugging, she watched as he made his way to where Iris had stayed in the pool and then roughly dropped the other two, her mouth slightly opening in anger.
Standing, she watched as the others took Iris, waiting behind. Shaking her head, she knew that if she went in there, it wasn't going to do any good, and it was just going to add to the crammed atmosphere of the place. What the situation really called for was Tricity, and realizing this, Fiona set off at a sprint to head towards the back door, running for Tricity's office.
As she finally reached the room, she realized the door was closed. Before knocking, Fiona then had a sinking thought: if the Headmistress were there, she would have appeared at the scene much earlier, and probably would have ended the fiasco before it had even begun. Deciding to take a chance, she knocked firmly on the door, and after a few moments felt her hopes shatter when no one answered.
"Tricity? Miss Tipper?" called Fiona, but it was obvious there was no one around.
'There has to be someone around, has to.' she thought, as she headed towards the Danger Room.

After being snatched out of the air and slammed into a tree Ali quickly relinquished her control of the water temperature. Upon impacting the tree she arched her back in pain as she wasn't expecting such a thing to happen. That pissed her off. She then heard the guy on the roof yelling at everyone. Was it that guy who had knocked her down? I dunno but he's as good a choice as any she thought.
She watched him bring himself and the other woman back to ground level and then decend into the nearly empty pool. It HAD to have been him. Her thoughts were solidified further as she watched two of the other guys float up out of the pool and drop on he ground. They were followed by the guy who was not holding the crazy girl in his arms. HE floated along as he headed for the front doors of the mansion.
Ali glared at the guy after he passed and spoke behind gritted teeth. "This isn't over."
She got up and followed the group into the mansion when the psycho girl jumped to life once again with renewed energy. She knocked herself free of the guy carrying her and ran into the living room. At that point she turned and faced the group as if she was ready for round two.
That was when she overheard a couple of the guys talking about putting miss nutso into something called a Danger Room so that she wouldn't be a danger anymore. No sooner had they mentioned their plan then they charged the girl. Ali kept back...for now.

Iris turned her head from side to side, trying to figure which of the many doors she was seeing could possibly set her free of this endless hallway. Finally she stopped and reached out to try one. Her hand phased right through the doorknob. She tried again, but couldn't seem to get a grip on the door.
In reality she had paused at the threshhold of the living room, and the door she was reaching for didn't exist. She paused. The screeching noise around her raised in volume, and she attempted to blast the 'door' open with a concussion blast. Because there was no actual door in her way, the blast made it's way into the room unhindered. The sofas and chairs were knocked away and into the walls, and anything made of glass, or anything similar, shattered, including picture frames and the TV screen. The blast also left a path of cracks in the wooden floor.
Iris walked through the 'door', and into the living room, and looked around, again seeing only another hallway and more doors. She turned to return the way she'd come, and found her way blocked by two figures. They were in her way, and definitly a threat, but she stopped, waiting for them to make a move.

Mettaliar had almost reached her when suddenly the screetch raised to a higher octive and forced him to stop in his tracks. He knelt down covering his ears and waited for the attack to stop. Things around him exploded and broke. Mettaliar didn't move. He just stayed down and waited. Once the attack was down he lowered his hands from his ears and looked up. Iris was standing there looking at him. He stood up but did not run towards her. He decided to wait and see what she was going to do next.

Michael halted alongside Metaliar, dropping and covering his ears at the screech. Once it stopped he stood up and saw Iris looking at them. A quick look at the living room revealed that she’d just done to it what he and Ted had done to that class room and the library, though it only took her seconds.
Putting a hand on Mettaliar’s chest he gently pushed him behind him. “Whatever she’s gonna do next it’s better that it hits me than you.” She seemed to be waiting for them to do something, so he did nothing, hoping that she’d just stay put, but he doubted it.

Without moving her head or body, Iris slowly looked from one figure to the other. They were simply staring at her, unmoving. It had to be a trick, or a trap of some sort, but she couldn't figure out what they were planning. They weren't to be trusted, but she couldn't stay where she was either. She had to get out.
Slowly she moved toward them, noises still surrounding her like an annoying windstorm, but within tolerable levels. She kept her gaze on the foremost figure, eyes boring into his coldly. She moved to step around him, keeping her distance, attempting to go back the way she'd come, back into the main hallway of the Mansion.
Nika heard a bunch of noise coming from downstairs. She wasn't sure if it was someone playing the rather large tv too loud or if someone was wrestling around. Unfortuantely for poor little Nika curiousity does thrive with in her given the right circumstances.
Heading downstairs she saw a bunch of people crowded around the entry way to the living room. Not saying a word and obviously unheard by the other people she continued to try to get a better idea of what was going on.
Nika walked around to where she could see and the sight that greeted her was a bit of a shock. Iris was standing in the living room but all the furniture was thrown around and all the glass items were broken. Iris didn't seem to be acting like her normal self and Nika wanted to know why.
Looking around she quickly spotted a chair turned on it's side. Not wanting to step on broken glass with her bare feet Nika leapt past Michael and the others and landed on the chair. There were a few places where the floor was free of glass and so Nika stepped off the chair and closer to Iris. "Hey Iris, what's going on? Are you feeling ok?"

Michael saw Nika flip past him and into the living room as Iris came forward. Knowing that Mettaliar could create himself a shield if he needed to he moved to put himself between Nika an Iris, giving Iris the space that she seemed to want. He didn’t even notice the glass on the floor as it was deflected harmlessly off his skin.
“Nika, Iris isn’t herself. Best to stay back, we’re trying to calm her down, but when Raina got to close Iris blasted her away. Raina’s in the infirmary now, but I don’t know how badly she’s injured.”
He kept his voice calm and level, so as not to provoke Iris. “As an added bonus Ted got hit and transformed. He’s back to normal now as I led him to the danger room where he calmed down.” That should bring Nika up to speed.

Mettaliar saw Iris approach. He stood ready for Iris to attack, especially after seeing the girl flip and approach Iris. Since Michael moved to shield her, Mettaliar stood ready in case Iris tried to pull something. He wasn't too familiar with Iris's attacks yet he knew her specialty was sound. He wasn't worried even if she tried to tackle him. His MMA training would hopefully help defend himself. Yet not training could prepare you for sound attacks. He needed to act calm and not make any movements. If Iris was hallucinating, he knew it would be of something bad. It was best to make him look like a random guy standing there rather than talk to her.

A third creature appeared from behind the other two, landing on the other side of Iris. She backed up a step, and the screech again rose in volume; it wasn't an attack necessarily, but a warning. A very loud, possibly painful warning. She moved the other way, away from the third figure, and darted back out into the hall.
Once there she moved through another 'door'. The ground heaved upward, and she headed up the hill, not running, but at a brisk pace. Unknowingly, she had begun heading up the stairs to the second floor of the Mansion.
Michael stepped between the girls and tried to explain to Nika what was going on but Nika wasn't really listening. She knew that it was Iris and the real Iris had to come back out. Nika was determined to help bring the Iris she knew back.
The cat girl covered her ears as a painfully high pitched noise eminated within the room. The the ground rose up and Iris headed up stairs.
Nika was the fastest to react as she darted out of the living room and practically flew past the boys and Iris. She stopped in the middle of the second floor hallway and turned to face Iris again. "Iris, it's me Nika. I know this isn't the real you but you need to let that part of yourself come back. You were so kind when you took me to the infirmary. I know I was knocked out but the others told me what you did and that means alot to me. Please stop all these things you're doing Iris. I don't want to fight you but I will if I have to." Nika got herself in a offensive fighting stance and readied herself.

Iris grumbled to herself. All that her mind could see was doors, doors, and more doors. And they all led to more doors. Where was the exit?
At the top of the stairs, or the hill in her mind, she stopped. She felt someone pass by at top speed. Suddenly that third figure was again blocking her way forward. She could see claws and fangs, just like all of the other hallucinations she was imagining, though this creature seemed to have two spikes sticking out of its head. Even if she had been in her right mind, Iris wouldn't have been able to hear Nika; the opal gem power blocked all sound from Iris's ears, literally deafening her to the world.
Iris paused, then clenched her fists.
"Out of my way." The statement was barely audible, just above a whisper, and monotone. With it came another increase in the screaming storm around her. Thrusting her fists forward, a concussion sound blast shrieked down the hallway toward Nika, leaving a path of cracks in the floor. Pictures and decorative tables, and anything loose in the hall were blasted toward her as well.
