The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Alexandra shrugged again, then continued to walk the rest of the way paying attention to her surroundings. Surprises like another group of mutant hunters popping out of nowhere weren’t out of the question and right now it wasn’t just Sam who needed protection. She sighed.
”What exactly were you talking about back there?”
Alexandra eyed Sam. Then the group behind them. Sorry Sam. Wrong moment to ask. Still, Alexandra lowered her voice and leaned closer to the ice mancer. “You’ll see. Just humor me with this one.” Then, straightening herself up and with her grim face on, she decided to follow Sam since he knew the exact location of the van.
”You want to drive or should I?”
Alexandra looked at the van, then looked at Sam, smirking slightly. “I drive.” She replied, rubbing her arms together to warm them up. And since she had promised Sam that he will know soon enough what she had in mind, she stepped away from Sam and turned her face to the group. “Listen here, people. I know we’ve promised that we’re taking you to Hungary. Unfortunately, our contacts mentioned that we might be expected at the Hungarian border. We can’t afford a fight right now so there had been a slight change of plans. We’re hopping the Bulgarian border.” Folding her arms together, Alexandra glanced at Sam hoping that he realized that this is what she had asked him to play along.
Then, she looked at the members of the group quietly. Whoever was leaking the information, sooner or later would make a mistake. And when that happened, she hoped she was in full control of herself.

Nodding his head he gave her conformation that he would indeed humor her, what it was he still wasn’t sure but he trusted her and knew she wouldn’t do anything to endanger anyone or the mission. When Alex said she would drive he again nodded his head in agreement it was a better plan than if he drove, seeing as if they were to be chased his mutation would serve them the best with a car chase. It took him little effort to form ice over a paved road on a hot day, with all the snow and this current weather it should be noting more than shooting fish in a barrel with a grenade launcher or something bigger.
As Alex continued to address the group his head turned slightly as she mentioned there was a change of destinations and with out showing any sign to argue the point Sam caught her quick look his way and then nodded his head. This clearly was what she wanted him to play along with so with another quick nod Sam tossed the keys to Alex after unlocking the van and then he started to help everyone into the vehicle starting with the old man and the young girl who was reluctant to let go of Sam’s hand.
After everyone was in the van Sam focused on the pile of snow around the tires and forced them away giving the tires traction filled ice road making it easy to throw it in reverse and head the direction Alex had planned for them. Sitting in the front Sam looked over his shoulder to everyone and catching the young girls gaze and then the old man’s who were set up right behind him. Looking over to Alex he smiled and said, ”Ready when you are, Al everyone is buckled in and ready to go!”
Curious, Alexandra glanced at Sam. She wanted to see approval in his eyes, and, fortunately, she saw it. Nodding slightly in his direction, she caught the keys and unlocked the driver’s door. Hopping in, she waited not so patiently for everyone to be ready to go.
When Sam was finally in and announced that they were ready to go, she started the car but waited for a moment before moving. Putting a smile on Alexandra turned to Sam. “We’re taking the E85, right?” She asked, loud enough for everyone else to hear. Well, it wasn’t really a question, and, like before she waited approval from Sam. “It’s the shortest route.” She added while turning around and glancing in the side mirror.
Once Sam had stated his approval, Alexandra simply nodded. The car started to move. Despite the fact that she usually drove pretty fast, this time she moved slow, one reason being the fact that she didn’t want to scare everyone off and, the other because she was keeping an eye on the rearview mirror most of the time, checking the group behind her.
For almost an half an hour, nothing happened. Then, a movement in the back caught her eye. A young man from the group reached for his backpack. Alexandra slowed down slightly, watching the road for only a second or two, before looking back in the mirror, eyes focused on the man.
A phone made its appearance and the man started to write a text message, from time to time glancing to the sides and to Sam. For a few more seconds Alexandra let him write the message, then, suddenly, she pulled the car on the side of the road and stopped. Hopping out of it, she went around the car and opened the door next to her suspect. “You. Get out of the car now….” The man looked up at her, surprised. “Wh-what?”
And she wasn’t in the mood for this. Blue eyes moved from the man to the others. Minus Pacifica and Gabriel all looked frightened. She sighed. “Please? Nothing to worry about.”
Reluctantly, the man got out, phone still in hand. Without even glancing back at the rest of the group, Alexandra closed the door behind him. “Hand over the phone. Now.”

Sam nodded to Alex when she said what roads they were taking. She was after all the X with the most experience in the area, she did grow up here after all so it was only natural he placed his trust in Alex to let her lead them to safety. ”The sooner we get there the better, I don’t want to be on the road longer than we have to, it’s to dangerous.” he said simply as he agreed with Alex, if it was the shortest route then they would go for it. All they had to do was cross the boarder and they would be home free, it wasn’t like the head hunters and boarder patrol could legally enter another countries boarder to bring back refuges.
The change in her driving habits were noted as she started to slow down, the ride so far had been uneventful and quiet on occasion the girl behind him asked him a question or two and he responded with a smile to both her and her grandfather. After a while down the road however Alex started veering to the side of the road which caused him to give her a look as she started to ask one of the passengers to exit the car.
As the man Alex was summoning to exit the car Sam tried to convince all there was nothing to worry about. After a moment he too exited the van shutting the door behind him. The man had yet to bend to Alex’s will when it came to passing the phone, which in his opinion was a little suspicious. ”What’s going on?” Sam asked Alex a look of suspicion and curiosity on his face.
Turning his attention to the road they just had hopped off of Sam watched a car pass by slowly before speeding up most likely to see what had happened. ”What ever is going on needs to hurry up, I don’t like sitting around in the open this long…” Sam said as he then looked to the man with the phone, ”I suggest you give it to her… Now!” Sam ordered as he took a step closer to the man.
The man looked from her to Sam several times, and, even if Sam had ordered him to give her the phone, he was still grasping it in his hand. “I really don’t have time for this…” Alexandra muttered, blue eyes traveling to the man’s hand. “You really think I can’t take the damn phone out of your hand?” She shook her head slightly. “I don’t understand… why-”
He didn’t really manage to finish off the sentence for Alexandra quickly snatched the phone out of his hand. She glared for a moment at him. “Keep an eye on him.” She told Sam, while she shifted her attention to the phone. Less than a minute later, Alexandra was growling at the last sent message. It was simple, and yet, exactly the proof she needed. ‘E85, Bulgaria.’
“You bastard.” Her eyes were set on the man. Confusion was no longer on his face. She was staring back at her defiantly. Alexandra threw the phone onto the ground, the device shattering into pieces. Annoyed was a kind word for what she felt now. If Sam wouldn’t have been standing next to her, she wouldn’t have been late in killing the idiot in less than a second. Her hand reached for the man’s collar, grasping the jacket he was wearing. “Are you even a mutant?”
To this question, she received a smile in response. It confused her at first. But, then, she knew why he was smiling. Only a finger was touching slightly the skin of his chin. And, trough that small skin contact, electricity was sent toward her. It wasn’t strong enough to do her real damage. Only meant for distraction, Alexandra noted as with the corner of her eye she caught the movement of his hand.
And, the next thing she did was to kick him in the groin. As hard as she could. The electricity died away, while his hands quickly moved to the affected area and he fell to his knees, groaning. Well. Served him right. Alexandra unclasped her hand from the collar, stepping away from the man while blue eyes traveled to Sam for a quick glance.
Then, they moved back to the man. “So what did they tell you? They won’t take you to the camps if you get us into a trap?” Alexandra rolled her eyes as the only answer she got was another groan. She didn’t really need an answer from him for she knew it already. “I can’t believe how stupid people really are. They think that the government would actually make a deal with them.” She shook her head slightly, stepping further away. “Sam, ice him up.”

Watching Alex yank the phone from the man’s clutches Sam waited and did as he was asked by Alex, she was as good as leading this run, he enjoyed seeing taking control of the situation, as of now all Sam was the brawn to her brain. His attention snapped to the ground then back up at Alex as she smashed the phone into a hundred pieces. So it was clear to Sam at that point that the man did something that he shouldn’t have done. Taking a step forward as Alex grabbed him by the collar and questioned him Sam’s hands reached up ready to make a move if need be but he never had a chance to react to the man for Alex delivered a swift kick to the groin.
Eyes winching and his stomach clenching just from watching the man wriggle in agony Sam looked up to Alex and shook his head, ”It won’t work for long given from what I saw with his mutation, I’d have to keep a constant focus on him…” Sam paused and looked to Alex ”Open the back of the van, I won’t leave him… even though he deserves it.” it was a time of fear and Sam couldn’t be too upset with the man for doing what he thought would keep him safe, even if it was a foolish decision.
”He’ll be coming with us, though we will have to keep an eye on him, he did this because he thought it would save his butt, even though odds are the people he was working for would renege on the deal. I told them I would get them all across the border to safety and it’s a promise I won’t go back on, what he chooses to do once we get across the border is his own problem.” Sam knew Alex wouldn’t approve of bringing him along to the boarder. Sam was however in charge of this mission and even though he didn’t want to point that out with an order he would do it if needed. A man’s life was on the line after all and Sam wasn’t going to leave him behind.
Walking over to the man still lurched over Sam leaned over and hooked his hand under his arm and helped him up. ”Now you won’t be stupid and try something, between us there are already a dozen people frozen solid, so don’t make me bump the number to thirteen alright?” Sam asked as the man was on his feet but still bent over. ”We have some rope and bungee cords in the back so we will just tie him up.”
Guiding the man along with him to the back of the van Sam leaned down to the guy to whisper to the man, ”Listen here and listen good Benedict peoples lives are on the line here including yours, you mess this up or prevent us from getting there in any way I’ll give my wife over there free reign on you, and she doesn’t play nice with others got it?” Sam said in a dull whisper so Alex couldn’t hear them.
Alexandra stared at Sam. Just stared. Then she rubbed the sides of her head, in an attempt to diminish the strength of a sudden headache. Why were the X-Men so- Never mind. “Can’t you just tie him up to a tree or something?” Blue eyes snapped to the man who was being delivered to the back of the van. “Or at least drop him in Bucharest?” She sighed, annoyed, knowing that Sam won’t agree. Leaning on the car she watched Sam leading the man to the back of the van. That stupid attitude of Sam’s was gonna get him in trouble sooner or later, Alexandra was sure of it.
~*~
Luca heard what both the man and the woman were saying, however, the pain didn’t really allow him to say anything. Surprised that the man actually said that they wouldn’t let him behind, he glanced up, with something that could have been called gratitude in his eyes. When the man named Sam approached him and helped him to his feet he forced himself up, and then to walk toward the back of the car.
Damn, that chick knew how to hit. Sam spoke, and as he finished, he eyes the woman. Just in time to see her glaring at him. Eyes snapped back to the man. “O-okay.” he said. Sure, the fact that he was riding in the back of the van, all tied up wasn’t exactly pleasant, but at least it was way better than being left to the authorities.
~*~
Alexandra tapped her fingers on her thigh impatient. She kept an eye on Sam and the man, just in case the jerk decided to do something. In case that happened, molecules of oxygen around his head were already under her control, ready to be snatched away in case he did a wrong move.
Back in the van, she was convinced that there were questions waiting. Questions, which she didn’t want to handle. As soon as Sam finished up the tying, she gestured him to come to her side. Blue eyes stared into blue. “I’m sure that even if I tell you that you’re making a mistake, you won’t listen so I’m gonna get over that part since we don’t have lot of time.” Wasn’t Sam lucky that right now authorities were probably coming their way and she didn’t have the time to argue with him and his way of leading a team? Alexandra sighed.
“Look, the jerk sent the message before I pulled him out of the car. So right now, probably the authorities at the Bulgarian border are under alert. And, most likely they will be waiting for us. Same with Hungary. So this two borders are out of question. Are we getting them to Serbia? It’s longer but perhaps they are expecting us to take the shortest routes.”

Once the man was placed in the back of the van Sam tried to make sure he was comfortable as possible by placing a blanket under the man’s head before closing the door and saying, ”Behave!” after the door was shut Sam walked around to Alex who was summoning him to her side. Willingly Sam walked over to her and nodded, ”Mistake or not, he is one of us and is scared, I promised I’d help him and I’ll keep that promise.” giving Alex a smug grin Sam sighed and rubbed the back of his head, ”Guess it’s already coming to bite me in the back, huh.”
Looking down one side of the road then the other he debated what would be their best option, ”The problem is if we take to long and go through Serbia we risk the chance of being seen inside before the borders.” he paused and then continued looking down the other side of the road, ”They will be covering all of the main roads exiting the country, but the shortest distance might be a better option, though we might have to stay off the highway once we get close to the border, odds are they would be trying to cut us off later down E85, if we continue onto our original destination we would have to stay off the main roads.”
Sighing and leaning up against the van Sam looked to Alex and shrugged, ”I think the path to Serbia might be out best bet” He again sighed and looked to Alex, ”Your more family with the area than me so I’ll leave the path and destination up to you, I trust ya” placing one hand on her shoulder he smiled and gave her a motivational look before saying, ”Haven’t steered me wrong yet.”
Alexandra nodded, remaining quiet for a couple of seconds while eyeing the back of the van. “You know Sam… if we encounter the authorities, and manage to pass as humans… I’d love to see how you’ll explain why you have a man tied up in the trunk.” Anyways. Shrugging, Alexandra moved on to the plan.
Alexandra had the plan pretty much established from the moment she’d discovered the mole… and all she really needed was hearing Sam confirm. “Serbia it is then. We’re getting them across the Danube.” Alexandra smiled softly. “We’re gonna need to… err, borrow a boat. ” Desperate times called for desperate measures. Or at least some excuses. It wasn’t like the first time when she borrowed something. Chuckling slightly, Alexandra folded her arms.
“As for the side roads. I suggest otherwise. On the main roads there are many other cars while on the side roads it would most likely be just us. And they don’t know how our car looks so they’d have no clue on what car to stop.” She shrugged slightly. “But then again, it’s your call.” With these words being spoken, Alexandra moved toward her door. “I also suggest you laying low. If they discovered the ice columns back in Bucharest, most likely they’d know how you look.” With a sympathetic smile directed toward Sam, Alexandra climbed into the car and waited for the ice mancer to do the same.

Letting out a laugh Sam spoke loudly ”He was being a trouble maker!” no he knew that wouldn’t pass but it was meant to be a joke. When she mentioned a boat Sam grinned and shook his head, ”We don’t even need to steal a boat, we both know I’m capable of making visibility next to nothing and with that much water there it wouldn’t take us long at all to cross it.” If a boat could be found and taken with out much trouble then he was all for it, however if one couldn’t be located he could just as easily create one, like he said with that much water it wouldn’t be difficult at all.
Mimicking her and entering the car Sam smiled, ”It seems you know more about this than I do, again, I’ll reserve the final decsion seeing as I am the leader of this team.” Sam closed his eyes for a brief second to make it look like he was deep in thought then opening them and looking to Alex he smiled, ”My wife is always right so, I’ll do as she says!” grinning slightly he pointed forward and then said, ”Wouldn’t be the first time someone knew who I was, I have one of those faces.” Sam said in a smug matter of fact tone.
Once in the car Sam smiled to Alex and then turned to everyone else. ”Looks like we are all ready, when your ready my love.”
Alexandra eyed Sam, staring blankly at him for a brief moment. Then, there was that creepy reddish color that tinted her cheeks when Sam called her ‘his wife’ and ‘love’ out loud while the people in the back were looking a bit confused and probably wondering why exactly there was someone tied up in the trunk. Well, at least some of them were.
Blinking again, she turned to look in the rearview mirror, checking their features. Somewhere in the back, she saw a rather grim-faced Gabriel sink lower in his seat. Alexandra sighed. Why was she getting the impression that sooner or later this would cause troubles?
Anyways. Before starting the engine, Alexandra leaned closer to Sam smiling slightly. “You know honey, I’d rather steal a boat rather than freezing my ass off in an ice-made one.” She muttered to her ‘husband’ winking slightly. With that being said, she leaned back into her chair and started the engine. This time, her driving wasn’t as normal as before, starting with a quite abrupt turn which made several people in the back put on their shocked and terrified faces, and continued later on with speeding past other cars like there was some kind of rally.
No time to be gentle when authorities were trying to catch you, she decided. They were almost reaching Bucharest once again when someone cleared her throat. In the next moment, Pacifica’s head was popping out from the space between Sam’s and her chair. “Sorry to bother… I think me and my brother decided to stay in Bucharest.” Sighing, but not surprised by this, Alexandra slowed down, and glanced over her shoulder at the woman. “Why?” She asked dryly, just to keep up the pretences. She already knew the answer, at least the real one and hopefully not the one who Pacifica was going to give. Alexandra simply turned her attention toward the road again while waiting for the answer, then watched them on the rearview mirror once the woman started speaking again.
Pacifica paused for a moment, letting the silence dramatically hang into the air, before finally speaking. “Well, me and my brother decided that we don’t want to run away and hide. We’d rather… stay and fight.” Leaning back into the chair, Pacifica patted ‘her brother’. “Right bro?” With the grim look still plastered upon his face, Gabriel folded his arms, eyeing both Pacifica and Alexandra. “Right.” And, he sunk even lower in his chair. “It’s your decision.” Alexandra spoke, glancing at Sam and giving him a small shrug before looking back at the road.

”I’d build the boat around the van, sides you right, I like your ass to much…” he said defensively but shrugged he knew she was right, that was a last ditch effort kind of thing anyways, if anyone did manage to spot a floating iceberg with a van on it he had a feeling it would be open season on the mutants inside, something he would like to avoid. The lines on the road in front of them seemed to merge together as they sped up the road back to Bucharest.
Noticing the head pop up from behind the seats Sam blinked once at the woman and then looked to Alex, and watched her question the woman. Sam frowned slightly and shrugged along with Alex and nodded his head ”Unfortunately I can’t force you out of the country, but I just want to say, fighting may not be the best solution, just remember everyone is scared of us for now, you fortify those fears and things only get worse.” he looked over to Alex and nodded his head, ”Drop them off where you see fit sweetheart.”
Blinking slightly at how fast the pet names were coming out Sam was starting to worry, the last thing he wanted was to be one of those guys that calls his girlfriend “hun” every time they addressed each other.
With the comment of him ‘liking her ass too much’ still rolling in her mind, Alexandra continued to drive toward Bucharest. Really, she wasn’t aware that he had so much appreciation for her behind… or that he was that aware of it, anyway. Only fair, she commented in her mind. After all, you did look at his, several times. Chuckling slightly, Alexandra finally stopped the van, somewhere near the entrance in Bucharest.
Turning around, and looking only and only at Pacifica, Alexandra spoke. “Sorry, we can’t go back in Bucharest to drop you off but there are buses that can take you where ever you need to go.” Letting out an inaudible sigh, Alexandra got out of the car, quickly followed by Pacifica and Gabriel, the last with disapproving look upon his face as he eyed the molecule manipulator. Alexandra just hoped he didn’t hear that comment about her butt as well.
“Thank you.” Pacifica said as soon as she was out of the car, her hand extended toward Alexandra while a smirk appeared on her lips. Nodding slightly, Alexandra took the woman’s hand and turned to Gabriel. With a neutral look, she extended her hand toward the man. Clearly displeased, Gabriel shook her hand. Meanwhile Pacifica turned toward Sam. “We will try to do our best to help our kind out of this situation.” She spoke to the ice mancer, extending her hand. Alexandra could barely contain a snort. Oh, she was sure Pacifica would do the best. Sighing, the molecule manipulator folded her arms.

For a moment he was afraid he had overstepped his boundaries on the scale of comfort, he never was one to be so bold when it came to talking about Alex’s body so casually but it seemed to not bother her much for she didn't give much reaction to it other than a laugh. Shrugging of the laugh Sam looked out the window of the van till Alex pulled over to the side of the road to allow the pair of siblings to exit the van. Watching Alex exit the van Sam out of instinct did the same, not knowing if it was some custom here to say fair well to those leaving your vehicle.
Watching Alex shake hands with the siblings Sam reached out to the woman and smiled, ”Non-violence would be the best way to help our kind,” he said. He didn’t like separating humans and mutants when he spoke, yes they were different, but not because they were better or worse they were simple nothing more than another race of humans. Not to mention the way she had said she and her brother wanted to stay and fight. Violence only begets more violence until the never-ending circle consumes everything, something he was here to try and prevent.
A firm handshake and a stair down followed from the woman as the brother next reached out his hand with a grin. Smiling back and extending his hand to the man ”It was a pleasure meeting both and I hope no harm comes to either of you.”
Alexandra was quite anxious to leave, Gabriel’s reactions making her feel really uncomfortable. Lazily, she let her eyes travel to the cars that passed by. Sure, she owed Gabriel a lot, seeing that he’d come to warn her about the trap they were walking into but his jealousy or whatever that was .. it was driving her crazy. And had her worried most of the time. Seriously, what was it with him? It wasn’t like there was something between them… Sighing once again, she turned her head toward Gabe, wishing that he would reconsider his attitude.
And she was just in time to see the stupid grin he had on his face as he prepared to shake hands with Sam. Oh no, you’re not doing that! There was little time to think, or act, but Alexandra already had a plan to stop that handshake. Because, Gabriel had a very interesting power. While not really dangerous, it was quite troublesome. And she certainly didn’t need Sam affected by Gabriel’s power on a mission. Not to mention the fact that she really preferred not to handle a boyfriend who in less than 20 minutes would be afraid of his own shadow if Gabriel worked his magic on him.
With quick movements, Alexandra pretended to walk toward Sam, but being careful of having the medium-sized boulder she had spotted moments ago in her path. In a totally unlike her manner, the molecule manipulator pretended to trip and directed herself toward Gabriel, tackling him to the ground.
Now both on the ground, Alexandra on top of him and carefully landing with her mouth near his ear she spoke, careful not to let anyone hear. “Do that and I’ll cut off your oxygen.” she said in a threatening tone, while pushing herself up and glaring at the man. Then, suddenly changing her expression to an apologetic one, she got up, her hand extended toward the man. “I am soooo sorry. I…” She glanced at Pacifica who was barely containing laughter then back to Gabriel. “Didn’t see that stupid rock.” Gabriel, took her hand, and with the same unpleasant look from before he nodded. “It’s okay.”
Quietly, Alexandra let go Gabriel’s hand once he was up, but not before throwing another look to warn the man that trying anything on Sam would result in having to deal with her. Then, she glanced at Sam feigning a bit of embarrassment for being so 'clumsy'. Inside, she just felt relieved. She knew that Gabe wouldn’t do anything now.
