The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Whoa... This guy was telling him to lie to people... Sure, he hadn't said it in so many words, and it wasn't so direct, but yeah. Saphirus hid a slightly nervous expression behind his cup of coffee, which he grasped, and lifted to his face to take a good gulp... Maybe Streak had heard everything he'd said... If so... Man that guy could fun fast! Unless, of course, their security room was nearby... Though he would think it a bit odd if the security room was right by the kitchen... He set his coffee down on the table, feeling the burn from the hearty gulp he had taken without thinking first, that it might still be a bit hot... He tried to hide the slight pain by shifting in his chair, and changing the subject. "So bout this paperwork, then.... yeah... When do I start filling it out? I don't mean to hurry you or nuthin, but its getting a bit.. eh... Early, I guess." He glanced over to the clock, which was showing about the time he had to wake up to get booted out of the shelter every morning... It was better to get the paperwork done before he got too tired to concentrate, not that the two cups of coffee weren't helping at all. This conversation seemed to be winding down a bit anyways, and Saph wasn't really a fan of winding in any which direction.
Lily finished her coffee, and stood up to wash the cup before she turned back to them. "All right, guys, I think everything is under control here" she grinned "And I'm going back to bed." Walking past the table, she put her hand on Shawn's shoulder, and looked over to Saphirus. "Have fun with the tour, you two. If you need me, I'll be in my room... If you need me this afternoon, I mean. Don't you dare wake me up before then." she added with a chuckle, and walked to the kitchen door. There she turned back once again. "On, and Saphirus: welcome to the Mansion."

Streak smiled. There wasn’t much left to talk about and he needed to get back to his monitoring. “Ya the paper works in my office back down the hallway.” He said pointing out of the kitchen. Jewel was apparently not one for early rising or interrupted sleeps because she had decided to go back to sleep. “Night Lily.” He smiled when she put a hand on his shoulder briefly. After she had left he stood up and said, “Come with me and I’ll get ya the paper work and a room that you can sleep in.” Sleep was sounding pretty good at the moment and he would be more than interested in getting some sleep than having him fill out the paper work. However, this probably wouldn’t work and he would probably forget about it tomorrow and then the paper work would never get filled out, which wouldn’t be a good thing.
He then started to walk out the door from the kitchen and into the hallway. It wasn’t too long before he was in front of his office. Opening the door he walked in and around to his desk, where he kept all the new resident information packages. He held one out for Saphirus to take. When he did that it would only take about ten minutes before he was getting his room to sleep in. “So do you prefer a room to yourself or would you like a room mate?” The standard questions rolled of his tongue easily and were very often practiced. His answer would determine where he stayed.

"Thanks again. I'll try not to set off anymore alarms and let you get your sleep." He grinned just a little, noting the shoulder touch, and smile in response. Saph watched as Jewel left, and then happily followed as Streak led him to his office, holding the grin on his face the whole time. Just seconds ago he had started to feel that the conversation might start to be a bit dull; the usual welcome, please fill out such and such, dot the T's cross the I's, don't eat yellow snow, thanks for coming out... But it seemed there might be some interesting talk to be had after all. Saphirus took a seat in the office, getting comfortable, and taking the information packet in his non coffee-cup laden hand.
“So do you prefer a room to yourself or would you like a room mate?”
"I'll go wherever you wanna put me... Though a roommate doesn't sound like a horrible idea..." He looked down at his coffee cup for a moment, and then up to Streak, a devilish smile on his face. "So, tell me... Whadya think about Jewel." He was up to something, for sure... that much would be apparent. Though it was an innocent enough question, right? Small talk, really. He hadn't even started with the paperwork, yet... He was more interested in this right now, to be honest.

Streak began to rummage through the drawers in his desk for a key. There were plenty of rooms looking for a room mate. He was just about to pull it out and hand it to Saphirus when he asked the question. Streak slowly sat up and looked at him squarely in the eyes. The grin on the other mans face told him that he was searching for something. Whether it was something that he was wanting to hear or something that Streak was going to say that he didn't want to hear didn't matter to him. The silver manipulator wasn't going to let some new guy that was crushing on Lily get her just because she made him some food and coffee. Streak returned the smile. Streak thought he knew what he was looking for. There were two options but he wasn't going to go with the one that would afford Saphirus the biggest gain.
"She's a great person. I've liked her since she got here and we've been going out just about as long." He wasn't exactly telling the truth but how would this guy know. Also how would Lily know, unless Streak didn't sell the story well enough and he went to check the story with her later on. So it would be in Streak's best interest to sell this as best he could. "Our powers actually compliment each other very well, which is probably why we get along so well." Streak started to rummage again through the paperwork and handed him the key. "This is your room key." He marked it down on the paper. Sure he was lying about him and Jewel going out but he thought that if you asked a student or someone about him and Lily's relationship they would probably think that they were dating. Either way he was still trying to sell the story well enough for Saphirus to not want to have to ask around about Lily.
Saph caught himself before he raised an eyebrow at Streaks apparent change in posture the second he spoke about Jewel... He met the man's gaze with a slightly questioned look... He knew that subtle change in attitude well, having lived on the streets so long he had to know how to read people... It was that shift that meant he was trespassing on something that this guy considered was 'his'. Saph remained in his relaxed position, and he held a disarming grin on his face.
What was odd, was that Saph hadn't asked a thing about whether she was available or anything like that... Why had Streak felt the need to go into such detail? "That's good to hear... Though i was just gonna say what a good job she did... She was very welcoming. I got the feeling that it wasn't even her job, but if it ain't maybe it should be... She seems to have a talent when it comes to making people feel like they belong." To be honest, he had gotten the vibe from this guy that he had some high level of affection for Jewel, if not simply from the way he looked at her... It was clear to see that even though Saph was a stranger, and a mystery upon entering the mansion, instead of focusing on him when Streak finally made his entrance, the X-man's attention went straight to Jewel; so much so that he didn't even notice Saph's attempt to shake hands. He hadn't gotten the same vibe from Jewel at first, but some relationships were like that. The whole subject wasn't really important to him, after all... He was looking for a place to stay, and change his life... He wanted to make new friends, sure, but not much more than that at this point.
In all truth, he had brought up the subject because he figured Streak for the type that might not have expressed his feelings to Jewel, so he was going to offer advice... But it seemed like maybe he had thought too much into it. All in all, he knew new that he didn't have Streak figured out in the least, like he maybe thought he did upon entering this room. Saph finished filling out the information box he was working on, and then reached up to grab the key. Considering Jewel seemed to be a touchy subject, he told himself he wouldn't bring it up again... At least not tonight. "Thanks... Eh... so when do i find out who my roomie is?"

Wait he wasn't asking if she was available? Wow. Talk about embarrassing. He'd just accidentally shared something with basically a complete stranger. Streak tried to rationalize with himself as to why he said those things, Well he is a new guy. And his question wasn't exactly straight forward. Being vague about questions certainly seemed to get more than what he wanted. Streak wasn't exactly happy with what he'd told this new guy. He hadn't even told his friends that were closer to him. Although, he thought they knew anyways. "No actually it wasn't her job. But I guess her window opens to the grounds. I was going to come get ya but you jumped the fence before I could." He pretty much explained himself earlier so he didn't continue. "I'll bring that up to her when I talk to her next time. I'm sure she'll be thrilled to hear that. But I'm not sure if she wants that as a job. I think she's just interested in living here and learning her powers more than getting a job." Streak explained.
Things at the mansion worked a little differently than they did out in the rest of the world. Jobs here weren't exactly advertised for. They were more of a 'if you want one come and ask'. They didn't put up job ads in the paper or around the school, and they certainly didn't put up fliers for the X-Men. Even though they did seem to get people asking quite a bit. Although Streak didn't figure this guy for the hero sort, or at least, at the moment he didn't seem like that type. Streak handed Saphirus his room key. He looked back down at his paper before he looked back at him. "You'll find out who that is when you move in. I'm not sure who it is at the moment but assuming they're in there I'm sure you'll find out who they are when they wake up." Streak told him. This was the truth and he just wasn't sure who Saphirus would be rooming with.
"Well I supposed you'd know better than I would when it came to what she wanted; guess i was just trying to put a good word in." He smiled some, and sat up as well, finishing the paper work, and setting it on the desk for him. "Well, I figure it would be a bit mean of me to barge into the room at this early hour, so I'll prolly just take a look around this place for now... Get acquainted, y'know?" He slid the key into his pocket, finishing off his coffee, but holding the cup in his hand still. "So... eh... I'll let you get to sleep.. you look tired. I can tour myself." He nodded slowly, appreciating the buzz the coffee gave him.. he would need it to stay awake during his little tour. After a second, he realized that there really wasn't much else to do, so he stood up slowly, and barely fought off a yawn, looking to Streak once again. "You'll keep me informed about the job, then? Thanks alot for the help... It was good meeting you." He reached out his arm, letting it stop half way across the desk, hand open and primed for a shake... His eyes seeked to make eye contact with Streaks, like anyone who was shaking someone's hand should.
After that, he would turn and walk from the office, and begin the tour of his new home.

Streak was surprised to see that he was finished so soon. "Thanks. I'll keep that in mind if she ever wants to have a job here." Streak said. He took the paperwork that Saphirus had placed on his desk. "Ok mostly everything is easy to find if you just wander around for a bit." He wasn't going to go to sleep, no matter how much he needed it. His shift didn't end for another hour or two anyways. When that ended he would get some sleep. Streak stood up as Saphirus started to make his exit. The out stretched hand was something that didn't go unnoticed this time. Streak took the mans hand in his and shook it. "It was nice to meet you. I'm sure I'll see you around here again.
When Saphirus left, Streak sat back down and started to complete the paperwork and enter it into the computer. As he finished he couldn't help but wonder what this guys angle was when he asked about Jewel. Perhaps, he had managed to scare him off from the subject of Lily well enough. And perhaps he'd managed to convey the idea of what he'd meant to and he wouldn't have to mislead someone like this again. Maybe next time this happened he would be able to tell the truth of what was going on with him and Lily. Maybe next time.
