The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Mutation description: So far, Mirror has only been able to take objects into mirrors; if s/he left anything in there when s/he came out, the objects fell out of the mirror automatically after a short period of time. Now, with the new power growth, s/he can leave something inside a mirror for an indefinite period of time.
Strengths: - The object will remain in there unil Mirror goes back for it. - While in a mirror, an object can't be accessed in any other way, only by Mirror him/herself (or another mirrorwalker). - On its own, the object can't move to another mirror.
Weaknesses: - If the mirror gets destroyed, the object falls out of it, damaged by the breaks. The worse the damage to the mirror, the worse the damage to the object.
People:
Mutation description: The other aspect of the same power growth is that now Mirror is able to take people into the mirrors too. S/he can take them in, pull them out, and move them from mirror to mirror.
Strengths: - Only Mirror can put a person inside a mirror, and only s/he can take them out. They can enter and exit on their own. Essentially, they are trapped. In order to go in, or come out, they need to be connected to Mirror in some way. (holding hands, tied together etc.) - Mirror can trap up to 5 people in the mirror world this way (in 5 separate mirrors, see Weaknesses)
Weaknesses: - In order to put an object or a person into a mirror, or pull them out, Mirror has to go in too (s/he can't push someone in or out). Same rules apply as before. - A person inside a mirror is trapped for a minimum of 24 hours. As time passes, the effect of Mirror's powers slowly go weaker; depending on the Mental Strength of the person and how determined she or he is, after the 24 hours are up they can exit on their own (or fall out). - Moving between mirrors alone (without Mirror's help) in only possible for a person with a Mental Strength of 10 or above. People on this level can force their way from mirror to mirror, just like Maya/Gawain does. They still can't enter and exit the mirror world on their own, but they can move (same rules apply to traveling between mirrors as do to Mirror him/herself, see Mirror's power description) - Only one person can be in one mirror. Mirror can take up to 5 people into the mirror world, but they all have to be in separate mirrors. Also, s/he can only move one person from mirror to mirror at a time. - Same rules apply to people inside a mirror than to Mirror him/herself. If the mirror is damaged, they get hurt. If the mirror shatters into pieces, they fall out of it, very bady hurt, possibly dead. If the mirror is just cracked or broken, they get wounded according to the damage on the glass. - The mirror world is just an illusion, a place to trap people; they still grow hungry or thirsty, and time flows the same.
Note: putting people into the mirror world requires OOC permission. After the 24 hour limit the player can decide when his/her character falls out/exists the mirror world.
(This description has also been integrated into the original profile)
Past 18 and a growth spurt, Gawain is now officially taller than Maya. Maya is 5'9", Gawain is 6'2". In borth forms, Mirror is more muscular now from the X training, with a slight difference between his/her arms because of the archery practice.
Mirror is 19 now, and guess what, s/he got a power growth!
Movie walking
Mirror can walk into a movie that is playing on a TV or movie screen. S/he exists in the movie world and can interact with objects and characters. The movie setting is real for him/her as long as s/he is in it.
To walk into a movie, s/he either has to touch the TV/movie screen (just like mirrors), or has to mirrorwalk into one from a reflecting surface. The moment either of those happens, Mirror ends up in the middle of the scene that was currently playing. Once inside, s/he has no way of leaving the movie either until the movie ends, or someone turns the movie off from the outside. When either happens, Mirror falls out of the screen, just like with mirrors.
People watching that particular TV set / big screen will be able to see and hear Mirror in the movie.
Inside the movie world, Mirror is always on screen. That means, if the scene changes, s/he will appear in the new scene too; s/he cannot go off-screen, or see or do things that cannot be visible for the viewers.
Everything in the movie happens in an imaginary movie world; Mirror does not visit real locations, he visits their movie copies. Even if s/he meets “real” people in a movie, those are just images; the “real” people will not know him/her in real life.
Strengths
Mirror can actually change the course of the movie, but it is extremely hard to do. Characters in the story don’t adapt quickly, and the whole world of the movie is moving with a great force towards the original conclusion. S/he can change minor details, but eventually, things will get back on track; it takes extreme effort, creativity and luck to change the course of movie history. The more popular the movie, the harder it gets.
Mirror can take one person into a movie with him, just like mirrorwalking. The same rules apply to that person as to Mirror. To enter the movie, they will have to be in physical contact with Mirror.
Mutant powers work in the movie world the same way they work in reality.
Mirror can walk into any kind of movie that is being played on screen. Including cartoons. When in a cartoon, s/he turns into a cartoon character too. S/he can also walk into documentaries or family videos, or even the news. Same time frame and rules apply. When in a cartoon, cartoon rules will apply to Mirror too – right down to the anime sweatdrop.
TV shows don’t count as one; one episode counts as one movie.
Weaknesses
If Mirror changes a movie, only that one screening changes, for only that one time. If for example someone plays the same DVD again, without Mirror, it will still contain the original movie.
Mirror cannot see or hear the outside world while in the movie (or perceive it in any other way), even though people watching it will be able to see and hear him/her. It is a one-way channel.
The movie will be in the language the actual TV set / theater is playing it in. Obviously, Mirror will not see subtitles. (But whatever s/he says will be subbed)
Once in the movie, no matter at which point s/he entered, Mirror can’t get out until it ends, one way or another. He can’t sit it out either; he will keep appearing in every scene.
If someone changes the channel on the TV Mirror is in, Mirror will appear in the new channel and stay stuck in that one until the channel is changed again, the episode ends, or the TV is turned off.
Mirror is not automatically noticed by the characters in the movie; especially not the main ones. S/he is like an extra or a redshirt – s/he is obviously there, and can interact with anything or anyone, but it takes nerve and determination to make the heroes pay attention to him/her. S/he has no real importance in the story.
Mirror cannot take things (or people) out of the movie. Anything and everything acquired during the movie disappears when s/he steps out of the screen.
Mirror, however, can die in a movie. If that happens, s/he will automatically fall out of the screen. Mortal wounds do hurt as real while in the movie, and hurt as hell, obviously, but once s/he returns to the real world, they turn into movie make-up. Smaller non-mortal damage, bruises, scratches, black eyes etc. remain real.

Everyday clothing style: Technically, Mirror has been wearing the X-men uniform since s/he got trapped inside the mirrorworld. Due to the reflection shifting, the clothes may appear to change to mimic someone's reflection, but physically, they are always the same kevlar-and-spandex X-men body suit they have always been. Uniform: See above Sleepwear: None
Character
Personality: Jesse has always been a complicated kid. Due to not having any parental figures or role models (foster parents did not count), s/he has always been mostly self-sufficient, not trusting anyone else to do anything for them. They learned to hustle and live alone very early, and their moral code skewed towards "me against the world." Even though that mellowed out later with the X-men and marriage, S/he still tends to have a cheeky and smartass attitude towards authority figures. Deep down, Mirage is a caring person. S/he is capable of loving the very few people who are important in their life (his/her wife, most of all). Recent events have made Mirage less outgoing than they had been (no pun intended), and it has been taking a toll on their social life as well as their self-esteem. As a member of the X-team, Mirage tends to be brave, resourceful, and occasionally brash, skipping over some rules when lives are in danger - mutant lives, especially. Since they have been trapped, their usefulness have been limited - so now they tend to rely on sarcastic running commentary, and the occasional recon mission. Hobbies/ Interests: People-watching. Experimenting with new looks. Job or part time job and description: None Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Being trapped in the mirror world forever. Becca leaving them. Special talents: Has good rhythm and balance, and a good eye for make-up and hair styling.
Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Chaotic good. Wants to do the right thing most of them time, but not a big fan of rules. As a reformed criminal, Mirage still has problems with chains of command and authority figures, but s/he can set those aside when people need saving and the right thing needs to be done.
Mutations
Mutation description: Shape-shifing: Mirage has the ability to shift into any human shape. Strengths: Can appear as any human person - male, female, tall, short, skinny, overweight, blonde, brown... you get the idea. Weaknesses and Limitations: It is almost impossible to copy and existing person's appearance perfectly, even with practice. Mirage can approximate someone based on a picture or looking at the person itself, but it will be more like a very good stunt double than the genuine article. Anyone who knows the person well will notice the difference. Also, shifting takes up a lot of energy, and time. Depending on how different the new shape is, it might take up to two or three minutes for the shift to be complete, and it takes concentration. Mirage does not do it very often, and tends to be exhausted if forced to shift in rapid succession. Also, because of this power, Mirage does not have... his or her own look. Since their abilities kicked in so early, Mirage never had a set sex/gender, or hair color, or face. Some faces stuck around more than others, and s/he definitely has their favorites... but not any face, or shape, that is recognizable their own.
Mirrorwalking Mirage is a special kind of shapeshifter - s/he can merge into mirrors or other reflecting surfaces, and move within them, or from one into another. They don't have to be as big as a person, just big enough to reflect her face in whole (!). Strengths: While in a mirror, s/he can appear as her own self, or as anybody else who is reflected in the same mirror. In the latter case, s/he takes over the existing reflection, does not duplicate it. S/he can move from one mirror (or reflecting surface) to any other within a one mile radius. If there are are other mirrors between the two, s/he will appear in them, passing by. S/he can enter any mirror (or reflecting surface) and exit any of them too. Going between mirrors does not take up time for her/him, that's what makes traveling easy. She walks out of view in one and appears in the next. Weaknesses and Limitations: - She doesn't copy the person reflected - all is just an optical illusion. She doesn't take talents, knowledge, style or powers from the person she copies. It's just the looks - the rest depends or her acting talents. - S/he can't be invisible. S/he is either herself, or someone who is reflected. - Mirage has been stuck inside the mirror world for almost two years. S/he can travel from mirror to mirror, but cannot come out of it. - Mirage has to touch a surface to enter into it. - If the item is not a real mirror, it has to be a stable reflecting surface with a clear reflection and minimal or no distortions at all. E.g. Jesse can only enter a window if it has some solid dark surface behind it so objects (and people) can clearly be seen on the glass. - If a mirror/surface is damaged while s/he is in it, s/he gets hurt too. E.g. if someone breaks a mirror with Jesse in it, Jesse will suffer the hit plus additional cuts from the shattering glass. A direct hit and a complete shatter might result in Mirage's death.
Physical Abilities
General Physical Capabilities: Mirage has good balance and dexterity, and tends to rely on them more than strength or stamina. Has good reflexes and good aim as well. Some shapes they take on are bigger and more muscular than others, but that does not mean any of them has suuperhuman strength; brute force is not Mirage's forte in any shape or form. Fighting Style: Basic X-men training. Hand-to-hand combat, self defense, basic melee moves. has not used any of them in a while. Fighting Style Pros/Cons: Direct, but not useful while trapped in a mirror.
History Of Your Character Mirage was dropped off shortly after birth at the door of a hospital. It turned out by the time s/he hit two that they were a mutant, and had shape-shifting powers. This freaked most foster families out, so Jesse (names by the system, dropped the last name a long time ago) was bounced around constantly between the ages of two and thirteen. S/he also ran away quite frequently, usually by changing into a new person, and simply walking away. S/he adopted a "me against the world" attitude, and learned to fend for themselves. The mirrorwalking ability developed at the age of 13. One day Jesse got attacked on the street by a bunch of older street kids, and pushed into a shop window - and instead of shattering it, s/he merged into the reflection. Jesse used their newfound mirrorwalking ability to live a better life - mostly through breaking and entering, although breaking was not necessary. They kept doing it for several years, leveling up to semi-professional criminal and art thief, until one day a heist put them on the X-men's radar... they were brought in first, and then recruited, around the age of 20. Shortly after joining the team, Mirage (code name courtesy of the X-men) fell in love with a teammate, Becca, and five years ago they decided to get married [plot approved by Grey]. A few years later, during a mission, Mirage was severely injured by a gunshot, and fell into the mirror world. When s/he woke up, s/he realized that the mirrorwalking was not working anymore - they were alive, but trapped. Seemingly forever. Jesse has been living trapped in the mirror world for two years. This has put a strain on their relationship with Becca; being on two sides of the glass, and only being able to go where there is a reflecting surface to walk into, has isolated Mirage from his/her wife, and the rest of the team. Mirage is officially still a member for the X-men, but their ability to help on missions are limited, and mostly includes tagging along and making sarcastic commentary from the mirrors (and the occasional recon). It has not been an easy two years.
