The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Jewel couldn't help but roll her eyes. Juka has always been a major show-off, especially when it came to women. And although she was way past the stage when someone just ignores his quirks, Shana was clearly not. She did seem to like the attention though, and again, Jewel couldn't help but smile. And she paid attention to the explanation too. "So that bubble is basically telekinesis? Looked like soap to me." she chuckled "See Shana, I told you your powers are cool!"

"Yes, thats right" she said nodding to shins comments, glad he remembered her and glad he did not seem to mad, she had accidently catapulted a wagon. What was left of the thing could only be used for somthing like firewood. Shin seemed like a good person and Kasumi liked him a lot as well. Juka however seemed like a bit more pushy of a person, not so much in a bad way but like he had to have attention.
She was about to respond to the compliment on her name, when Juka demonstrated his powers by bringing flowers to her. She was rather unsure how to respond at first, his personality overwhelming her a bit, she took the flowers unaware she was even smiling. "I do.....your very friendly and kind" she said with a bright smile. She still thought he was dressed strange but if people knew her they might think the same. In a way Shana envied Juka's openness about himself and seemingly lack of any inhibiton. jewel seemed to be used to Juka's behavior and she was glad some one was. used to it. SHe looked down at the flowers in hand, Juka was sweet and she kind of felt like a high school girl. "When their not dropping heavy objects around the room, they are cool" Jewel admitted though Shanas's eyes looked back to the wagon.

"Telekinesis, huh? I've actually got a trick that's a bit like that myself... watch this." Shin smirked, raising his right hand as he called up a set of 12 three inch tall shards. With a circular motion of his hand, they arranged into a three-dimensional green cube. The cube folded inwards with a second thought, shifting to form what looked like a dust pan. He held his hand like a scoop, forcing the shard pan to lower and lift up a smaller piece of the broken wood. It hovered in front of him as he raised both arms like a magician and watched their reactions.
"I've been practicing a bit, and I'm getting better at lifting objects with it... guess that makes me a psychic too..." He finished with a weak half-grin. It was strange thinking of it that way. For the longest time, others had thought his shards were formed from some strange summoning power, but really, he created them in his mind. This was a lot like Juka's bubble, wasn't it? "Strange to have three people in the same area who can lift things with their minds, eh?"
"A soap bubble," Juka laughed in amusement. A soap bubble indeed, although obviously if his bubble was a soap bubble it was the most beautifully fantastic soap bubble ever. "Even my soap bubble is fabulous," he said grinning smugly.
"How could I not be kind to such a precious princess as yourself?" he asked, smiling broadly. There was something about her that Juka just felt drawn to, perhaps it was her adorable shyness that so tantalized him. He was determined, however, to help her come out of her shell. It would be good for her and if anyone could do it then he knew that he could.
"Strange indeed," Juka said with another impish grin. "And perhaps even destined," he suggested, though his voice wasn't entirely serious. He cocked his head to the side, consider. "Ooh, I know! We should have some sort of grand telekinetics competion or something. Or, even better a grand mutant competition. All in good fun, we can make different events and have judges and scores and everything. And the winner can get a trophy and hordes of adoring fans!" He grinned, pleased with himself and his glorious idea.
Juka seemed to have the wildest ideas sometimes. Most of them apparently in front of the mirror every morning, during his dressing process, but besides that, sometimes he came up with totally random stuff out of the blue just for the fun of it. Like flirting with Shana. Or a mutant competition (that obviously he was sure he would win). Jewel arched an eyebrow and couldn't help but smile. "You are unbelievable, J." she shook her head "You haven't been here for ten full minutes, and you're already putting on a show... how did you got here anyway?" she wondered aloud "And I don't mean the soap bubbles. Your family's in town too?"

Shins power deminstartion was awesome, shana had never even imagined anything like it. She watched as shin shaped the shards into a cube and then a dustpan and began cleaning up the mess she had started. The power seemed to versatile, almost like hers but with a sort of substance to them. She was pretty sure her power worked diffrently, but maybe they were the same and she just could not see her shards. She would need to look more into that later.
Juka's power manifested in bubble with his mind which did look a bit like a soap bubble now that she actually thought about it. Juka's compliments kept digging deeper into her, not to mention changeing her cheek color, though she could not see it, the warmth hr cheeks brought her, made it obvious to her. She was quite unused to being treated or complimented like this."Thank you, your quite lovely yourself Juka" she replied with a smile. She was glad when the conversation shifted to some sort of mutant competition, she was unsure of his idea but was content the attention was focussed else ware,.
Shana was glad her powers had stayed calm so far, excluding the wagon incident that was. Juka made it very hard to concentrate on keeping her powers in check. He looked quite lovely dressed as he was. "So whare do you come from juka?" shana asked curiously, figuring wherever it was obviously were very tollerent of men who dressed like girls. He did remind her of a japanese pop-star she had once seen, maybe it was japan where he came from. She had wanted to go to japan but was unsure she could survive Juka alone.

"A telekinetic competition? Eh... maybe... I dunno. It could be fun, for sure. What would we do, though? Target practice? Lifting objects? Doing various puzzles..." Shin turned to face Juka, arms crossed. The boy seemed sure he'd win it? A dull smirk cut across Shin's face. Maybe he'd have to show these kids what importance training held. "Oh, hey! I know. Just had an idea. Maybe we could do something in the danger room!"
He glanced at Shana and Jewel. "Have either of you been in the danger room yet...?" He knew for a fact Juka hadn't. The guy'd probably be impressed with it, too. Shin had to wonder whether his showboating would work as well in those sorts of situations. He narrowed his eyes a little to add a clarification onto his statement. "And just so you know, it isn't -that- dangerous... just a little tricky."
Juka glowed, proud of himself and his genius idea. No one else, surely, could have come up with something of such obvious brilliance. He preened, imminently pleased with himself and knew that, surely, everyone else would reconize him for all of his many amazing talents.
"I come from Seattle and Tokyo," Juka answered Shana. "And Tokyo really is a wonderful place, my dear. Perhaps one day you will have the good fortune to see its wonders in person." He smiled at her.
"And as for the danger room," Juka turned to beam at Tetsuyo, "that is an absolutely wonderful idea." He had no idea what exactly a "danger room" was and really hoped that it wasn't actually as dangerous as it sounded, but minor worries aside it sounded like a positively exciting opportunity. "If your not afraid that is," Juka added, in a self assured tone.
"The danger room?" Jewel raised an eyebrow. First Juka has his great shiny rush of ideas, and now Shin comes up with this. "Can we even go in there?..." It's not like she wasn't curious. Oh, she was, about so many things she could hardly count. About people (like Shana, Shin, and even Juka, although she wasn't sure how much she wanted to know); about places (like the Mansion and the above mentioned Danger Room Streak told her about); and, naturally, about powers (as much about her own as about all the others'). On the other hand, however, she wasn't sure about all the rules around here, and that made her uneasy. She'd broken rules once out of ignorance; she won't do that again. That's why she thought it would be safer to ask. And she did. She looked at the others. What a weird, great, friendly bunch of people. She smiled. "... because it sounds like a lot of fun!"

Shan was unsure of competeing against these people thougbh some of the activities were thinsg she did normally. Not acurracy, but Shana routinely tried to lift items mostly small light objects, unlike the flying wagon. Then he mentioned the danger room, Which Samual had said was how thery trained people to use their powers here. So it was techinicly what she was here for, still she had pictured somthing more private for some reason. She realized though it was a school, and schools normally had other students to teach as well.
"I would like to visit tokyo some time" she admitted with a smile briefly distracting her from the thoughts of the dnager room. "I have not been in the danger room yet" she admitted though she prolbely should have been thare a few times all ready, but at least no one here other then shin seemed to have been in thare either so atleast she would not be alone. Jewel and Juka seemed excited about it, but shana was aprehensive on it. Still she would go if they did, after all it did not seem like they would be hurting anyone, so it should be all right she told herself. "maybe i should change first" she said looking down at her outfit, unsure if it would be suited to whatever they would be doing in case Juka gave shin another idea.

"Sure we can," Shin smiled, crossing his arms. "As long as you have permission from someone with X-men or X-men trainee status, that is. And I just so happen to have that. So, we're all in agreement about this?" Hazel eyes trailed across their faces, taking in each reaction. The redheaded rocker was for it, that was obvious. He'd suggested it in the first place. Jewel seemed a bit concerned, yet curious. She'd agreed. And Shana... wanted to get changed. Shin took note of what each person was wearing, and rolled it against the ideas he had for the simulation.
"Perhaps we should change before we do this? That isn't a bad idea at all. How about this." He turned to glance back at the mansion and pointed. "You all go get changed, and we can meet in the main hall in 20 minutes. I can show you to the danger room from there..."
He waited for their responses a minute. "Alright. Well, I'm going to get get changed then. I'll see you in 20!" And with that, Shin walked back through the front door.
~*~
Back in his room, Shin opened his dresser, taking out a black tank top, vest, and a pair of black jeans. He quickly got dressed. Nineteen minutes later, he tromped down the staircase into the main hall, ready for action. It seems he was the first.
Juka jumped up excitedly then contemplated his current clothing situation. He wasn't really used to needing practical clothes for events like this. He was a glamorous performer, not an athlete. He didn't even know if he had brought any practical clothes with him from Tokyo and even if he had they certainly weren't in the Mansion here with him.
"Um...Jewel, sweetness?" he asked, almost meekly. "It does seem as if I am in a quandary. You see, I don't want my beautiful skirts to get ruined in the rigors of competition and I simply have no appropriate clothing for this most amazing of events. Could you, dear heart, possibly lend me something. I promise I'll make it up to you." He looked up at her with pleading puppy dog eyes.
"I don't..." I don't own clothes suitable for a man, Jewel wanted to say, but one look at the excitedly jumping Juka stopped her in mid-sentence. Well, Juka didn't seem to own any clothes suitable for a man either. When did that happen?... "Come with me." grabbing his hand, she led her friend into the Mansion and to her room. Good thing I don't have a roommate yet. Her training clothes were neatly folded on one shelf of the closet - she went jogging on her first morning at the Mansion, but neglected that activity ever since then. Rummaging around, she managed to find khaki shorts and a plain blue T-shirt for Juka. Glancing at the boy over her shoulder, she guessed they would fit. Walking over to him, she dropped the clothes onto his lap. "They should fit. Try them on, I'll be right back, and we'll find you shoes." She took her training clothes to the bathroom and changed in less than five minutes. That was very unusual of her, but after all, she still had to take care of Juka, and meet Shin and Shana in 15 minutes to... do whatever they were planning to do. Hopefully have some harmless fun in a place called Danger Room. Yeah, right.

Shana walked back to her room, quickly changeing from her dress to black pants and a short slleved shirt. She figured they would do as training cloths, it was certainly better then her previous apparel. Looking Sown Shana grabbed her former outfit with her mind, and tossed it at the hamper, she missed but, it was close enough whare Shana figured she could deal with it later. Sitting at her vanity, Shana ajusted the mirrors so she could see the back of her head well. Satisfied she tied her hair back in a soft white strip of silk,
She walked back into the main lobby, and saw shin, she was not sure if she was early or not but the other had yet to arrive. She wonderd what exactly she had gotten herself into, from comming to the country up untill now. So many things could go wrong here, she would need to be careful. Then again it was a contest of some sort, so maybe things would not get to rough. Either way she wa sin it now and she would get to see other powers in action again, which would be fun.

"Oh hey. The first one arrives," Shin smiled as Shana slipped back into the main lobby, crossing his arms. He nodded in approval. "Good choice for training. Simple always seems to work best. Now if only--" He cast a surreptitious glance towards the stairs. "...They'd arrive." Perhaps right now Juka was fretting over his hair and how the basest training outfits didn't suit his concepts of glamor? Or maybe Jewel was taking a while finding something that fit him... Shin realized in hindsight that Juka's apartment was a good ways from the mansion, and this was indeed a bad thing. He tapped his foot impatiently. Whatever was taking them couldn't possibly take this long. He might as well make smalltalk while they waited.
"So, how long have you been at the mansion, Shana? And how'd you and Kasumi meet?" He smiled earnestly, waiting for her answer.
