The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Orion nodded as he flung the last piece of meat he was going to have for the night toward Archon. The wolf pounced on it and preceeded to lay down and knaw on the bone. Using his shirt to wipe his hands clean he began to rub Tricities back as she lay there. They all just stared at the wisps of smoke. Suddenly orion saw something that looked oddly like a face. He realized that the smoke was playing tricks on his mind but it had reminded him of someone. Looking up at Ire he asked a somewhat random question with a confused look on his face.
"By the way old friend, why did you bring Brin on our last job?"

Ire shook at the question. That’s why he liked the stars so much, because of her. Brin was his only love and the only other person he had trusted other then Orion.
"I did not bring her, I thought she was at the castle waiting for my return. But you saw her?"
Thoughts swirled in Ire’s mind and he felt ill. His left arm started to shake but only slightly for he didn’t know what she could have been doing at Nelriths keep.
*tricity studied the way ire had reacted to the question orion had just asked. it was the only time she ever saw him show some kind of compassion besides toward orion.* um...if you dont mind me asking, who's brin?
Orion looked down at Tricities face glowing in the fire light. He used a finger to brush a lock of hair out of her face as he spoke. "She was the only person Ive ever seen Ire care for. They were going to get married at some point I think. She was the only one who kept his darkness in check besides him. Thing is, she could do it effortlessly. It was just her personality, her beauty and her warm smile." He turned to Ire. "Yea, she was headed across the courtyard when I was on my way to help you. What was she doing at Nelrith's lair?" Orions face showed pure curiocity at this point.

Ire was lost he had no idea what she could be doing there. Why wouldn't she have told him? Ire darkness was slowly rising but it wasn't much to worry about.
"I know not what she could have been doing there. Did you try to talk to her? Did she tell you anything?"
"Nelrith's a Dark Sorcerer, hun. Hes the one who cast the curse on Ire." Turning to Ire, Orion commented. "No, she just ran by looking a little amused. I was confused, honestly."

"Ran by amused?" He said to himself more then to the others.
Maybe she was there to help him from a distance, yes that had to be it. Then another thought entered his head, one that he had tried not to let slip in. Nelrith needed an energy source one that could concentrate light into a single blast to send him here. Ire always called her his star because her mutation was the manifestation of light, he was the night and she was his star. She was his opposite in power but his equal in the ways of the heart, or so he thought. Ire, after thinking about this let his friends know what he thought.
"Brin had manipulation over light like you do over electricity, hun. In order for Nelrith to cast the spell correctly he needed her to focus it into a beam if you will. Do you see what Ires trying to say now?" Orion asked as he looked to Ire to see how his friend was faring. The flames sent dark shadows over his friends features. Orion hoped this wouldnt send him over the deep end.

Ire shook violently now and the darkness consumed his left arm. He felt so much hate, so much betrayal. How could the one person he loved do such a thing and for what?
"It makes sense....but it hurts....so...much." Ire struggled to say through gritted teeth.
The darkness started to increase slowly. The fire was now partially covered. Ire sat staring off into the sky again.
Orions massive frame rose from its sitting position. His left hand smoking. His eyes matched the fires smoke too. Picking up his broadsword he spoke to Ire while he slung it over his back, just in case. "You are amoung friends, Ire. Strike me if it will make you feel any better. All I ask is we leave the blades out of it." Orion risked a glance at the now completely black fire. Tricity behind him was wishing there was an electrical outlet around. Archon was behind her but his teeth barred, making no noise.

Ire stood slowly and turned to Orion. A malevolent smile came across his face before he replaced his mask. An aura of darkness now encased Ire’s lower half and left arm.
"I'll not strike you but I promise you there will be blood. I've been cheated and I'll take back what I deserve. The innocent shall feel my pain Orion. I have no wish to fight you. However if you stand in my way I will cut you down."
Ire's eyes then became as dark as the shadows around. Ire began to walk slowly toward Orion to get passed him. Orion put out his large arm and impeded Ire from moving farther.
"Move aside or lay in the spot in which you stand!"
