Can anyone help a girl get started? How, exactly, does the site work? How do you "Play?" Character Creation?

There's a "New Members" tab at the top. There are a ton of useful links for newcomers in it.

How would someone go about reactivation of an old character? I used to be on the site, but I'm pretty sure my account was deleted.

Just create the account again (if it was deleted, you should be able to just use the same name again), and email your app to the Mods. Make sure to dust it off a bit, the application might have been updated since the last time you RPed here.

Where could I find an actual Character Template sheet?
Best thing I could find is copying an already made profile and erasing the information leaving only the sub categories.

Hi there, been out of forum RPG writing for a while and looking to get back in. Your board was actually mentioned to me so I came looking!

I was wondering if weather control is too broad for your board as I look through the taken powers, rules, getting started, etc. I've always wanted to do something with it but I typically can't because Storm is a character in the true universe. As your game doesn't use the core universe I was hopeful for the possibility. However, I'm concerned it's too broad.

Please let me know if you think it is or no, it'd be possible but have to start limited, etc.

Weather control isn't inherently OP, but you'll definitely have to be careful with balancing it. For example: a weather manipulator probably wouldn't have the same degree of fine control or raw power that a solo elemental does over their element (ie: if you went toe-to-toe with a water manipulator, they'd probably "win", at least in terms of water). Once you get the app in, ze Mods shall help you balance it. To start with, the guide to creating well defined powers has a list of questions to ask yourself as you write up the powers section, to get you thinkin' of limiters.

Thanks Jiri. Yeah I had read that guide as well and was thinking certainly maybe I can't use atmokinesis, though I'd like to. I certainly understand those who focus in an element would "win" in such situations. I'm a long time RPer and gamer, as well as DM of a few games tabletop RPG wise so I completely appreciate that sort of focus or specialty having dominance. I'm big on story and less so on mechanics but I want it all to work for everyone. I'll definitely work on that app.

I've got a couple friends from yesteryear that I'm contact with about possibly joining a board as well so here's hoping we can all get into it together for some fun.

Just a quick question about character creation-I've submitted and had a reply which was basically cleaning up a few small rough edges-when the OK is given, what exactly happen to get the character profile? Do you guys at the MODs do that -or are you going to give me the instructions? I may have the reply by the time you see this but I thought I'd ask.

Hey there! I'm recent myself! They'll give you the OK and then you post it up in the Character Profiles section. Then use that link to link your new signature (a requirement) whether a link or image. Also send that link to the MODs so they can note you in the taken powers list.
