The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Neena hadn't been spending as much time in the Danger Room lately, what with all of the rebuilding efforts going on elsewhere. But eventually training would resume, on numerous levels, and she would do well to be ready.
Also, some of the newly returned, and totally new, residents were expressing interest in the Xmen, which also meant personal 'interviews'. In fact, she was anticipating one of those 'potential's' any minute.
She had dressed in a more casual version of her 'work outfit'; in this case, comfy black pants, beat-up black sneakers, and a simple, sleeveless, black Tshirt. The outfit had less pockets for all of her gadgets, but it allowed free movement, perfect for a general excercise session.
She walked over to the auxillary computer panel, near the stairs that led up into the Observation Room, and began searching for some basic training senarios. She needed to assess exactly what Silver Streak was capable of.

Streak walked into the Danger Room and didn't see Neena anywhere. He had decided to take a little time out of his day from helping the cleanup and rebuilding to 'tryout' for the X-Men. He knew Neena had seen him in action; however, he still needed to do this so he was happy to prove that he would be a valuable asset to the X-Men.
He didn't think that he had beaten her here, so he looked around a little more. "Neena. You in here?" Streak called out looking around the room. He wasn't to familiar with the room, since the last time he was here was when he was in the when Iris was going crazy and trying to demolish the mansion and everyone in it.
"Yep! Over here!" She waved in Streak's direction, and entered a final set of commands in the console. The darkness of the room lightened a bit, so he could see clearly, and a pair of chairs rose out of the floor.
"How ya doin', kiddo? Have a seat." she asked with a smile. She turned one of the chairs backwards before sitting down, and leaned on the back. "I'm glad to hear you want to be part of the team. After Registration, a lot of mutants are pretty bitter, so we can use all the help we can get."
She cocked her head to the side slightly. "Now, I haven't really had a chance to work with you and see what you really can do, so that's mainly why I asked you here. I'd like to get a better understanding of your mutation, 'kay? Kind of a Q-and-A session, with a few various workouts woven in. Why don't you start by explaining it to me."
She knew what his file said, but she wanted to know how he described it.

The room lightened and Streak saw Neena waving at him. He waved back and saw the chairs rise out of the middle of the room. His silver eyes flasher as he passed under the light and towards one of the chairs. One of his first thoughts when he saw the chairs was, Are we playing good cop bad cop here? and I'm the criminal or what? He sat down anyway and waited as Neena turned the chair around and sat down in front of him.
"Now, I haven't really had a chance to work with you and see what you really can do, so that's mainly why I asked you here. I'd like to get a better understanding of your mutation, 'kay? Kind of a Q-and-A session, with a few various workouts woven in. Why don't you start by explaining it to me."
"Ok," Streak paused and thought for about a minute just to gather his thoughts on how he would explain it someone. "Well, my mutation is pretty simple. I can cover my entire body with a silver film that, as I recently found out has turned my blood into silver. I guess I have the camps to thank for that since I spent the entire time there in my mutation. Anyway," Streak thought he may have strayed off topic a little,
"I can also pass through inanimate-solid objects. Whenever I pass through an object it creates a little ripple as I pass through it. I can also fly but the last time I did it I had to create silver wings. I'm still a little uncomfortable about the whole flying thing and I haven't been able to control it yet unless I create the wings." He thought a little more to make sure he hadn't forgotten anything.
He leaned forward and rested his arms on his knees. Then he said, "Oh, one more thing, I can also create objects that I can as weapons or shields. I can only create things like swords or knives or shields, nothing that is a projectile, like a gun, maybe an arrow but I haven't tried it yet." Streak finished listing off the things he could do. He still wasn't sure that that was all he could do; however for now that was his extent.
(OOC: I'm working off of you bio as far as the silver clothes go; let me know if I need to change.
Neena kept steady eye contact as she listened to Streak's explanation. Every now and then she would nod, or make a soft, "Mmhm," sound. When he finish, she nodded once.
"All right then, it sounds like a healthy variety of possibilities for you. Nice. You also can heal a bit on your own, correct?"
She paused for an answer before continuing. "For the object phasing, just inanimate objects? Not living? Does it matter how thick or how dense an item is? How about how long you can stay incorporeal?"
After the first battery of questions, she reached out to tug at the silvery substance that seemed to form a shirt. She wanted to see what it felt like, solid or liquidy.
"So, if this bit is always active, I'm guessing it doesn't take much energy to maintain. How about if you consciously suppress the silver? Or, on the flip side, use it fully?"

"All right then, it sounds like a healthy variety of possibilities for you. Nice. You also can heal a bit on your own, correct?"
"For the object phasing, just inanimate objects? Not living? Does it matter how thick or how dense an item is? How about how long you can stay incorporeal?" Neena asked Streak.
"Yes I can I just fill in the wound with silver and the silver helps heal me faster. I only heal a little faster than normal humans. I've only been able to pass through inanimate objects. Maybe once I get better control I will be able to pass through people and or animals. I can stay in objects as long as I stay focused." He answered her questions one by one. Streak sat back in his chair, the silver covering his upper body and lower portion looking like shorts and a shirt.
"So, if this bit is always active, I'm guessing it doesn't take much energy to maintain. How about if you consciously suppress the silver? Or, on the flip side, use it fully?"
He leaned forward again so that Neena could feel the silver. It's a very different feel to it. To him it's always felt like soft/silkish silver ooze. But it didn't come off him the way it would if someone as wiping paint off themselves.
"Right I never think about it so this covers these parts of my body for quick spreading of the silver. I can suppress the silver; however, since I spent my entire times at the camps covered in silver it takes a little more effort than it did before to suppress it. However, once I suppress it it takes no effort to keep it suppressed until I need to use my mutation." as he said this a little bit of the silver retreated into his body disappearing from sight. Streak quickly let it come back to where it was.
He continued, "And vise versa it takes little to no effort to use it fully once I start using it. Again because of the camps many times when I wake up I will be covered in silver beacuse my body became used to living like that. Also if I'm not paying attention, for example I'm resting or exercising the silver will sometimes cover me completely and I wont notice it until I'm fully covered and I see my reflection or something."

"Now how about those objects? How strong do you think they are? Will they last once they leave your grip? Or if you lose consciousness?" Neena asked him still drilling Streak with question after question. Streak didn't mind but he wanted to get on with this. He didn't show any impatience because she seemed genuinely interested in his powers and what he was capable of.
"I'm not sure how strong they are; however, I have used them before and the shield seemed to hold up pretty well against gun fire and an attack by a wolf. As for the weapons, the only one I've used to throw so far are the knives that I make," Streak covered his arms in silver and then created a knife by touching his hands together and pulling them apart and formed the knife between his hands. He tossed the knife in his right hand as he continued, "and they seem to hold their shape or a long time. I've never stayed around long enough to find out what happens to them, if they disappear or if they stay where they land forever."
He held the knife on at the tip and the end of the hilt and twisted it between his fingers. "The knives are very sharp and cut through most anything as far as I've seen. Truth be told, I don't know the extent of my weapon making ability because all I've really used are the knives and a shield or a huge hammer."
Doing his best to make a joke he said, "I don't really know about when I lose consciousness because I'm not conscious." He smiled, dissolved the knife back into his body and pulled the silver back from his arms to where it was at the beginning of the interview and waited for her next set of questions.
"You meant you don't have an out-of-body experience?" Neena teased back, chuckling at his joke. "Okay, so we'll have some exploring to do then. That's always good. And since it doesn't seem control is an issue, we can concentrate on other things."
She nodded, then leaned back.
"Okay, last question, then we'll see some of this stuff in action." She paused momentarily, anticipating the reaction she may get to her inquiry.
"What about weaknesses? What do you, or the rest of the team, need to be careful of, or avoid altogether?"
Neena realized it was a very personal question, and most people would never admit to weakness, especially not to a near total stranger. And, of course she didn't expect him to just lay bare his soul, and tell her every teeny, tiny, detail about himself. However, if Streak was going to be able to work with a team, he need to learn to trust that his team would look out for him. And in turn, the team would need to be able to trust him not to put them in danger, because of being self-consciousness.
The trick with trust was that someone had to be willing to give it first, or else more could never be gained. Neena was willing. She hoped he would be too.

"What about weaknesses? What do you, or the rest of the team, need to be careful of, or avoid altogether?" Neena asked him. This last question actually caught Streak a little off guard. He hadn't expected something so personal or invasive. He sat back for a second, wiping shocked look off his face. Instead he looked very thoughtful.
He didn't answer for several minutes, searching his mind of what he would say to her. He knew her, but not as well as Raina knew him. The silver man was a little cautious of telling her his weaknesses because he thought that they may not be "X-Men" material. After a long pause he said,
"My weaknesses, huh?" he sat back in his chair, "Well, if your worried about me flaking out or freezing up when it were fighting or something, I can assure you that I'll be one of the last people to leave the fight no matter how badly injured I am. I think that I may unknowingly put people in danger by doing that, but I'll do my best not to. I think that sometimes I may also be a little too eager to fight, an enemy, not an ally and that I may be a little to combative when it comes down to making plans.
I also think that I am a bit of a skeptic if I've seen someone doing something that I would think would be shady, and they don't know that I've seen them, and then they want me to trust them. It takes me probably a little longer to trust people than others. It's not their fault and it's not because I don't like them it's just something I do." Streak said all of this a little slower than he had said any of his other answer because he was thinking as he was talking of how to phrase things and what would be the best way to explain things. "I hope this makes sense." He said waiting to see if she wanted more information.
As expected Neena's question caught Streak by surprise, and she saw the shock on his face before he could banish it. She waited patiently while he considered how to answer. When the answer did come it was a roundabout answer, and he sounded a bit defensive. Well, maybe not defensive. More.... cautious. And she understood that, especially given his further explanaiton.
"I also think that I am a bit of a skeptic if I've seen someone doing something that I would think would be shady, and they don't know that I've seen them, and then they want me to trust them. It takes me probably a little longer to trust people than others. It's not their fault and it's not because I don't like them it's just something I do."
He paused slightly, and added, "I hope this makes sense."
She smiled at him, and replied kindly, "It'll do for now." She wasn't going to press the issue just yet. It would come in time.
But for now....
"All right, let's see some of these skills of yours in action, kiddo!" Neena all but leapt to her feet, nearly tripping on the chair in her hurry. Her carefree grin returned to its usual place, and she waited for Streak to get up as well, so the chairs would vanish.
Neena led the way to the edge of the room. Behind them, the area lit up a bit further, and the sounds of gears moving could be heard. Metal columns and platforms began appearing from the floor and walls, creating a landscape that seemed to be a cross between a labyrinth and a treetop village. She motioned him toward a small holographic screen on the wall, about the size of a portable DVD player.
"This is a basic obstacle course run," she began to explain, pointing out various things. "Obstacles will come in three forms." On the screen three visuals appeared.
"Dangers from the ground...." A hole appeared with something looking like squid tentacles coming out of it.
"....From the air...." A baseball-sized orb, slightly flattened, appeared, with a red eye on both the front and back.
"....and from the platforms." A small panel slid open to reveal a simple laser.
"You'll need these." She handed him a pair of wrist cuffs. "Those tentacles are real enough, and will try to grab you. But al of the laser shots are holographic, so you won't feel pain or impact, while the cuffs still register a hit. You goal is simple; to get from this end of the course to the other, with as little damage as possible to yourself." She grinned at him, and shut down the display. "Just think of it as a giant game of paintball, but with an octopus chasing you down while you're at it."
"Now, you can also attack them, if you wish. The eye-balls are worth the most, and are the hardest to hit. They're also partially self-learning, which means they'll learn from your actions as you go. You can use your mutation all you want, so have at it. The course isn't timed, so you take as long as you want to get to the other side. Consider it a way to figure out and show off what you can do, without wearing yourself out."
She paused, hand hovering over the 'Start' command. She raised her eyebrows and smiled. "Any questions?"

Streak smiled as Neena almost tripped over the chair. He got up from his chair and followed her over to the control panel. He didn't notice that the chairs had vanished until he was looking out at the danger room from the edge of the room.
"This is a basic obstacle course run," she began to explain, pointing out various things. "Obstacles will come in three forms." On the screen three visuals appeared.

She paused, hand hovering over the 'Start' command. She raised her eyebrows and smiled. "Any questions?"
Streak listened to her as she explained how the course was going to be going and what dangers to expect. He took the pair of cuffs and put them on his wrists. "Seems simple enough." Streak said taking in all of the information Neena had passed to him very quickly. He watched as she pushed the 'Start' button and hesitated. "So what happens if the tentacles get a hold of me? Do I automatically lose or something or do I just fight it out and keep going?" He didn't think that they were going to get the chance but there was always the possibility of him getting bogged down at some point of the course. He focused a little and the silver film slowly covered his body.
The whole thing only took a minute to complete, with all the silver spreading at the same rate and at about the same speed. First part of his body to be covered was his head, and hair. His arms quickly followed and his legs next. He was completely covered in silver and the scars shone more now than before. The wrist cuffs seemed to blend into his wrists. He stepped up to the beginning of the holographic course and waited for it to start.
"Seems simple enough. So what happens if the tentacles get a hold of me? Do I automatically lose or something or do I just fight it out and keep going?"
Neena smiled. "The course will stop when either you reach the end, or you call 'abort'."
She waited for any other inquiries, then hit 'Start'. Nothing happened on the course, waiting for Streak to make his first move. Neena moved off to the side to watch. She would likely walk into the course the further in he got, just to observe. Although the Observation Room would be recording the session for later scrutiny, she preferred to make her own upclose notes.

(ooc: sorry its so long. I just wanted to be descriptive.)
Streak heard her answer. It was simple enough of an answer for him to know that he was going to finish and that nothing was going to stop him. He took his place at the beginning of the course and waited for it to start. The hologram was up and running at its full capacity. It's now or never. Streak thought. He took a look around assessing the situation and determining what would be the best course of action.
As he looked around he saw the forces from the sky set with their eyes focused on him, watching his every move. The machines didn't know how he was going to act so he decided to surprise them a little. He took off walking cautiously at first until he looked behind him and saw a bunch of tentacles following him. He decided to pick up the pace a little.
He kept going through when he looked up and saw one of the areal obstacles coming down at him. Streak dove as one of the objects came buzzing past him. The silver man recovered from the dive and appeared with knives in his hands. He was on one knee and propelled himself up with his back leg towards the object. The orb had spun around and come back after him. Streak was actually running away from the orb; before he started he was observing the layout of the course and did his best to make a mental picture of barriers that he could use to hide behind. He was heading towards one of those spots. there was a section of wall stuck out farther than the rest of that sectyion of the course.
Before he got to the barrier to take cover behind he watched how the orb was acting when it turned around and also when it attacked him. From what Streak could tell there was only a couple of obvious flaws, currently, when it turned around and when it missed him. When the orb turned around it showed the eye for a few seconds. That was long enough for Streak. That was all he needed to throw his knives at the orb. The silver man ducked out of the way as the orb made another pass at him. That was the opportunity Streak needed to get his shots off.
He threw the two knives at the orb, one right after another, when the orb showed his area, that was when it was turning for another attack. The first knife to his missed the eye. That slowed it down significantly and gave the knife that followed directly behind the first one time to hit the mark right in its little red learning eye. The object went down and stayed there with the knives still stuck into it.
A smile crept across Streaks silvery face and shined in the light. He began walking towards the next turn in the course and because of the orb Streak had forgotten about the tentacles coming quickly up behind him. He thought it might be better to have himself protected, so he held his left arm in front of him bent at the elbow. He moved his opposite hand in front of his lower arm, above and below. As he did this a large silver shield appeared attached to his arm to protect him from any unsuspecting attacks. The shield was light weight so it didn't slow him down, and he could run with it like it was just an appendage.
(OOC: Let me know if I need to alter the way the thermal imagery works.)
As Streak progressed into the obstacle course, Neena noticed that the silver covering his body actually blended in with the course scenery. It made him a bit difficult to track normally, so she decided to switch visions. She blinked several times, cycling through several ends of her visual spectrum to pick the appropriate one. She finally settled on a version of heat vision, specifically the type of infrared imagery pit vipers use to track their prey. Streak's silver covering didn't hide his heat trail, so his profile stood out in bold red, orange and yellow relief against a blue and green background. The mobile machinery also left a trail, more red and purple, spotted with orange where moving gears generated more head.
Among the first things she noticed about him, he didn't go in 'gun's blasting', as it were. He actually avoided any confrontation at first. And after the eye-balls made the first move, he went defensive.
<"Interesting."> A small smile tugged at her lips.
She nearly missed his first two shots, her only hint being the residual heat signature left on the silver objects. To her vision they were long, which she took to be blade-shaped. The second connected, and her sight briefly lit up with a small white-yellow blast of impact heat.
That made Streak, one, course, zip. However several of the other orbs took that opportunity to attack from above. Below the tentacles continued to advance. Around the bend, a second set of silver feelers appeared out of the ground.
