The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Skadi smiled and watched the woman as she replied " Circe. He's Slade." she presented herself, then Slade, pointing to the radio. "Welcome aboard!" Skadi replied "Nice to meet you Circe, and Slade" She looked from the woman to the radio. Suddenly the voiced changed to a different, hauntingly one. It was giving orders for slade to take.
Skadi sat back and watched as them both talked to one another, it was like a ping pong match. Constant questions been thrown here and there, there was never really a propper answer. Whenever Circe did reply it was short and quite cold. This girl was hiding something, or wasnt too open to sharing information.
Skadi had grown like this over the years, constant covering up and lying about her idendity, anything to get by without some mutant hatred. But she felt suprisingly comfortable with these two than she had been in a long time. Eventhough they were running away from launching missles and going to a mystery destination, Skadi was quite pleased and sat there happily listening to them both. It felt nice to be in company.
Now Sitting forward she started to examine Circe and her appearance, she looked European, she didn't look like she was a local. Suddenly Skadi popped a random question to change the uneasy tension in the atmosphere. "So Circe, Where you from?" Skadi smiled positvely while she waited for a reply.
Trust? Slade thought vehemently, he barely knew the woman! Slade sighed inwardly, it didn't look like he had a choice. He just hoped this "Circe" wasn't going to end up getting him killed!
"Damnit woman! Hold on tight then because if this gets ugly we're f*cked."
The accelerator pedal slammed to the floor once more as Slade pooled as much energy and effort into his concentration as possible. He'd done tunnels before, and if it came down to it, he'd just have to do it all over again.
"Damn it woman! Hold on tight then because if this gets ugly we're f*cked." Slade seemed a bit ... uhmmm... nervous? Circe sighed. It's not like you have any other choice. she bitterly thought. She relaxed in her seat just as Slade accelerated. Well, she wasn't blaming him for not trusting her. She had almost forgot about the presence of the blue eyed girl, Talon, when her blond head appeared between the two seats. "So Circe, Where you from?[/i]" she asked, smiling with enthusiasm. Alexandra rose an eyebrow. This was her way of cheering up the atmosphere? Whether this girl was crazy or she didn't have the slightest idea about what she was in. "Around." Circe asked, not taking her eyes off the road. She folded her arms and waited. She desperately wanted that Nigel would give a sign.
[OOC: I pretended that Slade said that first. Hope that's okay. Skadi, I hope you won't mind the way Circe answers to Talon, it's just her way ]
(OOC: Okay a little behind, so this continues after Cold Steel's post.)
"Away from that!" Shade yelled as a large mteal claw stabbed into the concrete next to them. The hunky beast was gaining on them and Shade needed a darker light to teleport. This kid might be getting caught but he sure wasn't.
The blaze of light danced behind them as the Stalker's light tried to lock on to the fleeing mutants, and Shade could feel his lungs giving out. He wasn't meant for this type of running. Still half-dragging the boy, Shade it to the ally lunged in with the ice guy in tow. Landing in the shadow of the buildings, Shade immediately disappeared, but he doubt that would stop the Stalker from findind him.
A tense second passed as the blaze off light swept over them. However, the next instant it was gone. Shade had shut his eyes in anticipation when they had jumped; now he cautious opened one eye to see why the Stalker was not attacking. Half expecting it to hovering over them, Shade was surprised to see it had moved on.
"Well, that was close." Shade's disembodied voice said as the sounds of him dusting himself off reached Cold Steel's ears.
However, the invisible mutant wouldn't have been saying that if he knew that a Shadow Stalker stood about five yards away. The cloaked bot had been surveying the fight in case the Hell-fire had been damaged and unable to take care of its targets, but with so many mutants on hand, the two Stalkers had decided to separate the prey.

Steel was so happy that he and his fellow mutant were away from the stalker. Just then a chill crept over steel, just like it used to when something bad was about to happen, he had a feeling like he was being watched, he quickly thought to him self running the different training scenarios in his head, he came to the conclusion, that getting away from that stalker was to easy, the answer he was about to think didn’t have time to turn. Steel bent over and slammed the ground while yelling at the mysterious mutant to jump, ice quickly covered the ground they were standing on. It was his turn to pull his new friend, by gathering where he was before he was invisible, steel grabbed the mutant and booked it around the corner, know what was about to happen to them if they stayed put.
As they rounded a corner Steel caught a glimpse of what looked like an arm, a robotic arm, the arm of a hunter. He only had a little experience with the newer models, not too much he could do worked on them. Knowing that the hunters feet were frozen only bout them about 12.3 seconds. As they were running back down a crowded intersection, Steel realized he didn’t know anything about this guy he was helping. Steel spoke to the mutant he was dragging, “So guy, you saved my life, by my code, I got to know your name, you’re a mutant right what’s your power?” Steel, looked over his shoulder to see the hunter. Picking up the pace they round the corner. “So do you have a spot we could hide or better yet do know anyone or anything that can take care of this thing?”
The Stalker didn't spot Slade turning off, and instead kept trackign the decoy. Unleashing a missile it aimed to destroy the car. The missile flew up high above the traffic, then locking onto it's target zoomed towards it at terrifying speed.
The explosion was spectacular, a definate confirmed kill. Once the police got around to inspecting the wreckage they would find two female bodies, burt to cinders but identifide as inhabitants of some of New York's slums. The description of the women would match the pair that the Stalker had recorded entering the mutant car. Hunter had killed them a few days ago when in search of a living meal no one would really miss.
The computerised voice came over the radio once again. "The Stalker believes you are all dead, as will the local authorities. Do not draw attention to yourselves, which means somone should sit in the driver's seat."
(OOC: This is the last bit of help your going to get from Nigel, from here on out you're on your own.)
OOC - Damn you hunter!! thanx for the help in plotline. oh talon is out of the plotline for now last time she told me....
IC - "The Stalker believes you are all dead, as will the local authorities. Do not draw attention to yourselves, which means somone should sit in the driver's seat." Slade snarled again as the cheeky b*stard hacked his vocal channel. "Damnit who the hell is that?! We'll change in the tunnel." Slade snapped.
Driving slowly into the tunnel he pulled up on the under-sidewalk. He had no idea where they would be heading to next. He didn't feel it to be safe enough to return to times square where his hideout was, and there was no chance of him sleeping in public after todays fiasco! His attention returned to the fact that she would be sitting in his driving seat... He wasn't going to find this at all comfortable! "Go on then, shift over. Just don't get any ideas!" Slade sighed out through his radio defeatedly. He definately wasn't going to enjoy this.
"The Stalker believes you are all dead, as will the local authorities. Do not draw attention to yourselves, which means someone should sit in the driver's seat.[/i]" Nigel's voice made her breath relieved. Having stalkers following you each day or so wasn't exactly her idea of fun. "Damn it who the hell is that?! We'll change in the tunnel.[/i]" Slade said, sounding once again nervous. Why was he being so nervous? Yeah, right, he should understand that a mysterious voice coming from HIS radio just saved their asses. And that YOU know that voice but you can't tell anything. Alexandra remained silent. Slade was free to believe anything he wanted. The car slowed down to a stop and by speaking, Slade woke her up from her reverie. "Go on then, shift over. Just don't get any ideas![/i] At first she couldn't understand why was he being so nervous. It took her moments to realize that she was in a MALE car. A reddish color appeared on her cheeks. "Uhmmm... okay..." she said, moving from the passenger seat to the driver's seat. She put her hands on the steering wheel and looked forward. She didn't dare to make any other move. Slade wasn't the only one feeling uncomfortable. "So, what do we do now?"
Slade shuddered reactively as she slid into his driving seat, he could feel her warmth now even stronger and as far as he could remember this was the first time he had ever let anyone sit in his drivers seat. After all it was he who normally drove and the idea of someone controlling his every action made him queasy. He wasn't sure he could do this, this was far too weird! She placed her hands on his steering wheel and asked "so what do we do now?"
"Look... uh... ok lady, i mean, um, Circe." Slade stammered. God this made him feel like he was back in school in that horrible situation where he'd just tripped into some pretty dame and she was glaring waiting for some sort of explanation! "As you're sitting in my drivers seat, I'm not sure I can, well, er, concentrate." Slade's metallic sheen darkened in thick patches across his chassis, which seemed to be as close to blushing as physically possible. Slade was silently praying she hadn't noticed.
"I mean, it's just... not many people sit there, I'm not used to it. Uh you might have to drive. Uh just drive wherever you need to go. Quickly." he gasped in record timing. He suddenly jolted and blurted out, "Oh and I'll change the gears! I'll be better at that!" Everything that could retract was doing so at this time, the seatbelts were tautening, the windscreen wipers were bending. Even the seats were wobbling slightly, such was Slade's complete tenseness and feeling of growing terror at this rediculous scenario. He could feel his engines heating in anxiety, his respiration systems working themselves into overdrive.
Slade was cringing with every stammered word, digging that wonder hole that would pass right through to the other side of the planet! He really wasn't going to enjoy this! He wasn't sure anybody would want their body in complete control of another person, let alone a beautiful woman who he had, so far, only just met. He doubted that he even knew her real name, she certainly didn't know his!
He had a single recurring thought through the entire process of trying to waffle his way into a coherent sentence: "Please kill me now!"
([OOC]: Nice post, Slade Strange shadows appeared on Slade's chassis but Alexandra proffered to think it was only her imagination. "Look... uh... ok lady, i mean, um, Circe.[/i]" Alexandra's eyes shifted from watching the front of the car to the radio. "I mean, it's just... not many people sit there, I'm not used to it. Uh you might have to drive. Uh just drive wherever you need to go. Quickly.Oh and I'll change the gears! I'll be better at that![/i]" Alexandra nodded. Hell, she agreed with that. It wasn't exactly comfortable for her either. "Uhmmm... okay.Only that I don't know the streets. I'm new in town." she said. By now, her cheeks had turned to a pretty shade of red. And as if this wasn't enough, seat belts started to tauten and window wipers began to move. Man, she needed to get this over asap. Alexandra Leigh, Circe, wasn't afraid of killing people but was blushing in this situation. She took a deep breath and then, with a firm hand, she pulled the seatbelt into place, turned off the window wipers, hoping that it would override Slade's current commands. As she did that, she thought she heard something about killing but decided to let it go. Starting the engine, she pushed the gas pedal. A screeching noise could be heard behind them. Thanks god, they were finally moving. "Slade, do you mind if I smoke?" she asked. She hoped that he wouldn't say yes, cause damn, she needed a dose of nicotine right about now.
ooc - cheers circe, you too im really enjoying this thread last exam over tomorrow in the morning yay!
ic - Slade could only stay in place, rigid in fear as she began to take control over his form. He felt her pull the seatbelt commandingly over her body and push the lock into its socket. She pressed a button on his dashboard and against his will the windscreen wipers stopped. As she keyed the engine back into life it fully dawned on Slade that she had almost complete control over him. Had he been mentally willed enough he might have voiced this, all that emerged was a faint whimper over the radio speakers.
He had already asserted that he take control of the gears, at least he could do something to remain autonomous from Circe. He also realised that he would need to direct her when she informed him of where she lived. With an effort he gave a timid, subdued response to her question. “Sure, smoke as many as you need… you know I used to smoke before…" Slade paused and then broke off, now wasnt the time to bring up history.
"Uh anyway where do you need to go? I’ll tell you how to get there. Christ this is weird…” Slade trailed off into his confusion and apprehension as she drove him onwards. He occasionally pressed the clutch down, forcing up the accelerator so he could safely change gear. He shifted the gear lever jaggedly, nervously, into place as the engine's 'bite' of control became manifest. His accelerator pedal pressed into her foot as he nudged the gears into place, she seemed to understand his needs pretty well and relaxed her foot when prompted.
Slade was still trying to fathom this new and embarassing situation. His chassis was still blotchy and despite her control over him he still felt tense. He had been close to death, poverty, starvation and desperation before now; but nothing, absolutely nothing felt quite like this. He felt like a puppet, and she was the puppeteer controlling his every movement. She could drive him to her house, out of town, even to the jaws of death and he would be powerless to stop her. Such thinking began to overtake Slade’s few remaining rational perceptions and he forced himself to shake them off. He felt ill, his chassis trembling as she accelerated away. His fate, his life, was in her hands and there was nothing he could do to change this. Nothing could have scared him more...
"Sure, smoke as many as you need... you know, i used smoking before...[/i]" came Slade's answer. Circe threw a quick glance to the radio then back to the road. "I started smoking when my mutation appeared." she confessed. She strongly believed that for every mutant, the day they found out about their mutation, it was a hard day. "It started to be a necessity every time they..." she began but stopped. She sighed."Every time they looked at me like that." she continued. She was talking about her parents. Those bastards. She swore that she will get her hands them as soon as possible. With a hand on the steering wheel, she pulled down the zipper of her jacket and looked for the cigarettes in one of the insides pockets. She took one and placed it in her mouth, then lighted it. She inhaled the smoke, deeply and few seconds later she felt calmer than before. "Uh anyway where do you need to go? I’ll tell you how to get there. Christ this is weird…[/i]” Slade's voice broke the silence. She smiled at his remark. She understood very well that it was being weird. To lose control over yourself. "Slade, we'd better get you to a safe place. It'd be easier for me to go home than you. We don't need to get unwanted attention and a car driving by itself it's not exactly normal." she explained. That's why they were having this embarrassing moment in the first place.
Slade listened awkwardly as Circe explained her smoking habit, partly because it sounded like she had been driven to it by some trauma. He really hoped it hadn't been too bad for her, few mutants he had met had actually dealt well with their "gifts". He was also awkward partly because she had just rounded a corner in fourth gear. Slade winced silently, as he rapidly corrected his mistake with the gears he heard her asking if he had a safe place to stay. His air circulation systems began to sift out the cigarette smoke. Savouring the taste before it was expelled into the open air he found some focus.
"Yeah I got a place, its not big but its safe. I'll direct you there and then I'll call you a cab..." Slade responded, his voice dull as he concentrated on keeping the gears in tow. He wouldn't have minded if she stayed but that wasn't going to happen. He paused mid-thought, coming to a sudden realisation. "By the way I'm sorry for all of this, I never meant to transform and gather all that attention..."
Yeah that was Slade all over, one shiny car sized f*ck up after the other...
"Yeah I got a place, its not big but its safe. I'll direct you there and then I'll call you a cab...[/i]" Slade answered, his voice dull. Alexandra nodded in response. Even Slade seemed to be a bit more relaxed than before. Or maybe he was just concentrating more. Alexandra sighed. She did this pretty often these days. An unconfortable silence fell between them. Right now, she couldn't think at anything she could say to break the silence. Once again, Slade was the one that did that. "By the way I'm sorry for all of this, I never meant to transform and gather all that attention...[/i]" Alexandra snorted. Like he was the one that should be blamed about it. "You really don't have to worry about that.I am the one that started everything, so..." Alexandra confessed. She wondered what would be his reaction to this. Well, she hoped that it wouldn't be too bad.
