The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The metallic clicks and whirls of the Hellfire Stalker was all too familiar for Shade. His skin still bore the scar from their last meeting. The brillant glare from the spot light felt like a field of fire compared to the usual cool darkness.
Raising his arm to shield his eyes from the light, Shade was like a deer in headlights. He couldn't move. His breath quicken and his adrenaline shot through the roof, but Shade was frozen still. A feeling began to itch at the back of his mind, a feeling he hadn't felt in a long time. He was scared of this metallic beast.
Suddenly, the blaze of light was broken and the cool of darkness returned and Shade fear was instantly shattered. The hooded mutant saw the ice guy creating a wall in stop the spot light. Laser shots pierced through the ice wall, one tearing into the young mutant. Behind them, a courageous cop blasted the young man with his taser.
Spinning, Shade slid his hand into his jacket pocket and grabbed for the familiar feel of smooth darkness as he materialized the shadow in his hadn into a dagger. He swung it towards the cop, hitting him in the shoulder, knocking him to the ground.
"Come on, kid." Shade said, grabbing hold on the other mutant and making a break for it past the downed officer. That ice wall wasn't going to stop that Stalker.
The sound that marked the arrival of the stalker felt familiar to the young mutant known as Circe. She froze in to place as she was aware of what a stalker could do. Heroic actions, like those made by the ice man, were far away from her thoughts. The mutant that could turn himself into a car, as she saw, had chosen the same thing as she had. To escape. He transformed back to his initial form. His wheels began to spin, as he drove next to her. "Come with me if you want to live!" a voice spoke from inside the car, seeming to come out from the radio. Alexandra didn't think twice, she jumped in the front passenger seat []. Strangely, she remembered that she always wanted to drive an Audi R8, ever since it came out. She looked at the driver's seat and raised an eyebrow. "This is freaking weird." she commented.
OOC - ok now the fun really begins! epic car chase begins!
IC - Slade felt the young lady clamber into his passenger seat, his insides lurched uneasily. He had never quite gotten used to this part. As she slammed the door shut Slade's wheels schreeched into action. He heard a quiet comment from her, "This is freaking weird."
"You have no idea!" Slade's radio retorted as he sped from the oncoming stalker. He felt hot fire shimmer past his rear right tire, the rubber softening slightly as the plasma engraved itself into the road a metre away from where his tire had been a split second before. "Look around and tell me where it's aiming, i'm not reacting quickly enough!" Slade barked through the radio, usually he would ask politely but now really was not the time. His systems flared and his engine revved resoundingly as he charged, sweeping across so to try and distort the tracking of those infernal energy bolts.
He rounded the jutted corner off broadway to west 40th aiming to bowl out onto Bryant Park and 6th avenue. Hopefully he was now temporarily out of site of the damned creature but he had no idea where the stalker was or whether it was keeping up. All Slade knew he had to get this woman to safety. Adrenaline pumped fuel surged through his systems and he surged faster, if he could keep his driving speed and she could watch his back they might just survive this!
"You have no idea!" the mutant answered trough the radio. So she was right. The sound was coming from the radio. The wheels screeched and the car began to move. The stalker wasn't planning to let them get away so easily. His laser aimed for the tire. Fortunately, he missed. "Look around and tell me where it's aiming, I'm not reacting quickly enough![/i]" the mutant ordered. Alexandra shifted her position in order to see the activity of the stalker. "Don't need to tell me twice, ..." Circe paused as she realized that she didn't know his name. Calling him Audi R8 seemed a bit strange. "Do you have a name?" she asked. Around the corner, a stalker appeared, once again aiming for the car... errr.. mutant. "I think he's aiming for your right tire again." she informed him.
Slade swore vehemently, here they were driving for their lives and the woman wanted small talk! On hearing her warning he skidded over to the left, he felt off to the right a pulse scorch the tarmac, this woman definately had her uses!
"Thanks," Slade gasped gratefully, spinning around the corner to 6th Avenue he now had to find another road to swerve onto so this stalker couldn't lock on them in the open. "The names Slade, as you asked, you got one?" He barrelled into west 39th heading east, flares pounded the walls on the corners of 6th avenue as Slade catapaulted around.
Once again a brief respite from the implacable stalker, Slade felt that they were beginning to lose it. He calmed slightly, the speed the same but his thoughts clearer as he monitored for a suitable turning. He began to plan a suitable location to drop this woman off. With her help he knew they could lose this stalker.

Sam thought to himself “kid?” whom is this masked man calling a kid? Sam didn’t verbalize it or take it to insult they were running for their lives. Sam caught of the glimpse and the mysterious women book it. He thought to himself “ your welcome for the help”. But once again the thoughts quickly left his mind. He needed to concentrate on what was happening now. The guy he just saved, who by now seemed like a mutant, was dragging Sam. Seeing as once the light disappeared he was on the move. “The innocent don’t run” was the saying that he heard all to frequently when he worked for the government.
“Where are we going?” Sam asked the hooded figure. Sam was waiting on a reply when he noticed that the Hellfire unit that decide to attack him made a retreat for it, or it was simply rounding the corner chasing the car. Wondering what was gonna happen next he took a deep breath and tried to block out the pain that he was feeling, then he kept on going with the hooded figure.
(OOC: WOAH! alot of replies! Ive been at my parents house who have no internet so im just going to have to hop back in, hope thats ok!)
IC:
Still standing where she stood before, feet planted firmly in the ground, her senses were on edge. So many things were happening around her it was so hard to take it all in. Glimpses of mutants were dotted around everywhere, for a split second she thought she saw a man covered in ice, though she didnt didnt want to loose track of the car transforming man, she wanted to meet him. Continuing to watch what was happening around him.
There was no time to think and let everything sink in, she needed to react..Changing into a bird was always her last resort..She watched as the man transformed into a car and let someone climb into it and sped away. Looking at what they were running from were some missles that were piercing the ground and chasing the runaway mutants. It had a tracker on it, but it didnt seem to have a lock on her.
Moving her head from left to right she scanned the area, watching as everyone fled the scene she started to run, run as fast as her legs could take her she wanted to stretch her muscles and flex her joints. It was always painful suddenly shifting, stretching her legs helped..alittle.
Then taking a slight hop into the air her whole body shrunk, and shifted into a small brown sparrow. Speeding into the air as fast as a lightening bolt, ducking and diving past missles, she could sense every move around her. The piercing sounds of screams flooded her mind, the screeching of wheels on the ground and burning rubber. Flying above the car she wanted to keep track of it, flapping her wings incredibly fast she had a determind look on her face. Swooping low past the car she began flying at the same level and speed as the car, looking into it for a split second she saw a beautiful brunette in the passenger seat who looked like she was talking to her self.
Seeing there was alittle room in the back seat she flew into the car and quickly shifted back into her human form. Awkwardly landing with her legs across the woman she shuffled herself and tried to get in a better position. Smiling uneasily at the woman sat in the front seat she said "Dont mind if i drop in?..heh" Skadi was incredibly nervous, she had tried to hide her secret as much as possible, she had never transformed infront of someone else before in a long time, and she was hoping this reaction was going to be alittle different from the screaming one she had with someone else.
"The name's Circe." Alexandra answered. She preferred to give her codename, as she was sure that 'Slade' wasn't the name of this mutant. "Your welcome." Once again, she looked behind to see if the Stalker was on their tracks. The robot was still there, but he couldn't keep up with the speed of this mutant. She sighed relieved. "I think-" She couldn't finish her phrase as a bird appeared in her face. And as if this wasn't enough, the bird turned out to be a mutant. A female mutant, with blond hair and blue eyes. And her legs awkwardly put somewhere on her chair and shoulder. She blinked rapidly and raised an eyebrow. "Don't mind if i drop in?..heh" the girl said, seeming nervous. "Not at all." Circe answered. This whole situation seemed amusing to her. So there she was a moment ago, causing mischief on the streets of New York, and now, she was in a mutant-car that was driving by itself and woman just landed with her legs on her head. As she was saying before, boredom in a mutants life never lasts too much. "Do you mind?" Circe said gesturing towards the woman's leg that were still resting on her shoulder. "Slade, where are we going?" Alexandra asked while shifting her position to a normal one. She looked outside the window, searching for a familiar place. Not that she knew many places around New York.
Slade felt a bristle float through his open window, more alarmingly he then felt weight amass in his rear passenger seat. It felt female. It certainly sounded female...
"What the..? Who the hell's this chick??" Slade swore again, he'd almost missed 5th avenue, scorching the tarmac as he shot around the corner he tried to work out what had happened. All he knew now was instead of having one woman inside him he had two! Most men would consider this very unnerving, Slade was no different.
The plasma fire seemed to be dying down, he must be losing the stalker by now. So this woman was called circe... either she wasn't from new york or was clever enough to hide her identity from strangers. Slade didn't blame her, in her position he wouldn't trust a human car either...
"I'm taking you to mutant downtown, I have a friend there. You'll be alright for the night. If you want to go some place else just say the word." He really hoped Goosh was feeling amicable. He also hoped they could reach downtown without meeting anymore of these infernal death machines.
Nigel Banks was soon alerted to the Stalker activity in New York, and not terribly surprised to find Alexandra's location blinking away in the middle of it. One of his spotters on the scene had informed him that she had gotten into the mutant car and a Stalker was in pursuit. Thinking quickly he got a copy of the car and remotely sped it towards the scene.
When the mutants swung around the corner an identical car darted out of an alley and pulled in behind them. With a quick and clever hack a computerised voice that clearly wasn't Slade's came out over his radio saying "Turn left." If the mutants followed the advice they'd get out of this ok, as the decoy would race on and lure the Stalker away from them. If they didn't Nigel would have to come up with something else.
Slade complied without hesitation, he thought it was an odd response for Circe to make but she was his eyes... then it registered that the voice wasn't Circe's. What was worse is the voice had sounded from his radio, nothing was supposed to be able to hack his radio? "Who the hell was that?? How'd they get into my radio?!"
Slade drove down this street at a renewed pelt, he recognised it as east 37th. The voice must be directing them to queens midtown tunnel. So much for mutant downtown they were being funnelled into Slade's idea of hell. Tunnels never ended well in car chases!
"Oh sorry".. Skadi apologised for having her legs on the woman still and moved herself in a more comfortable seating position. Suddenly hearing a voice from nowhere saying "What the..? Who the hell's this chick??" She looked around the car, trying to hear where the voice was coming from. All the things that was happening around her made her forget the fact that she was in a mutant car, and the car was infact a man.
Embarassingly skadi replied back as calmly as she could "Oh.. I forgot for a moment your a kind of transformer..Nice car" She traced her fingers across the seat lightly. Crossing her arms across her chest she leaned forward to talk more to the woman "Hi.. sorry for landing on your lap like that, My name is Talon. What's yours?" Her scandinavian accent was quite harsh, you could easily tell that she wasnt a local.
Tilting her head to one side, her white blonde hair looked a little windswept from suddenly shifting into a bird and back, she began running her fingers through it, fiddling around trying to pat it down and tame it to its nice condition before. Watching infront of them where they where speedily heading she began thinking to herself I wonder where these guys are from, do they already know each other?..hmm.. i hope im not in too deep, oh well, and if i am, i need some excitement in my life.. its so boring at the moment.
The girl appologized for the awkward landing and moved to a normal position. Slade's response to the woman's landing showed his surprise. Well, you don't have a woman landing on/in you from out nowhere every day. The new girl seemed a bit confused about the fact that the car was talking. Hell, she could shift in a bird, mutant hunter robots were on their tracks, nothing should surprise at this point. Circe wondered how Slade felt about this whole situation, having two women inside him. God, that sounded weird. A sudden turn made her land in the other side of the car with her upper half. Maybe she should use the seatbelt. She pushed her body back to the initial position and fastened her seatbelt. She didn't want to get out of the car with a black eye or something. Seconds after asking who was the new girl, Slade answered her question. "I'm taking you to mutant downtown, I have a friend there. You'll be alright for the night. If you want to go some place else just say the word." Before she could answer, another voice could be heard trough the radio. "Turn left." It took her a second to realize who it was. Slade was already following this new direction. "Do whatever he says." Circe advised Slade. The blond girl seemed a bit more comfortable with this whole situation as she was complimenting Slade about his nice interior. Then, crossing her arms over her chest, she leaned forward to get near Alexandra. "Hi.. sorry for landing on your lap like that, My name is Talon. What's yours?" she asked. "Circe. He's Slade." she presented herself, then Slade, pointing to the radio. "Welcome aboard!" she continued. She looked over Talon's shoulder. There was no sign of the stalker. Nigel had saved them. Or so she hoped.
Slade tried to process everything that had happened. All he knew was that a strange woman who he had just met had somehow recognised a disembodied voice who was funnelling them into a tunnel... Things didn't look so promising anymore. The only positive was that the stalker seemed to be off their trail for good. If he had any chance of getting out of this he'd have to trust her
"But who was that?" Slade enquired, desperately trying to glean information so he could better fathom this hellish situation. "Where is he leading us?" They were approaching the tunnel now, he really hoped this guy was on their side, Slade could count on them not being so lucky down there in the tunnels if this went wrong.
Slade's curiosity put Alexandra in a tough situation. She wasn't allowed to reveal who was she working for. Sighing, she answered, hoping that Slade will be satisfied with this. "Just trust me. She trusted that Nigel was going to help them the best way he could. "As for your other question, I don't have the answer. Yet." By now, she really hoped that Slade will trust a total stranger and do as he was told.
