The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

No one in their right mind would be out this ungodly hour, which was precisely why a certain blue-eyed redhead was out on the streets. At this ungodly hour. Only illuminated by the occasional streetlight, Ty was dressed in a dark blue hoodie, with the hood pulled up, blue jeans, black boots, and her traditional black gloves. Her larger than usual gloves donned her hands, and her purse was slung over her shoulder. Turning down an alley, she almost disappeared in the shadows, obscured by buildings.
Setting her purse down, the girl got to work, reaching in and pulling out a can of spray paint. She gave it a few good shakes, and expertly sprayed it along the walls, artistically outlining what looked like a strand of DNA, her trademark. Once done with the black, she filled in some areas with green, and others with yellow, and still others with blue.
She smiled as she worked; she'd done this dozens of times on the other side of the now-closed rip, and she was just hitting her stride here, but this was habitual, nay, instinctual by now.
As she worked, she heard the all too familiar murmurs of her belongings, and from the whispers she heard, this wall had seen some things as well, though she wasn't about to find out what that was. Especially since it was a wall in New York City in a totally innocent alley way.
She finished, putting the cans back in the bag and slinging it over her shoulder, but she stopped. She swore she heard some new sounds. Someone--or something, rather, was close to her, coupled with that feeling that she was being watched. The young woman tensed, prepared for anything.
Apart from the very visible headquarters, Haven also owned various lower profile properties around town. Not many people knew about it. Some were for storage, or simply for convenience, while some functioned as safe houses or temporary housing for the mutants they helped. Not all were as notorious as the Sanctuary. Some were just general buildings scattered around town that Haven just happened to own, or rent.
Sveta had not been sleeping well lately. Again. Too much on her mind, and friends too busy, or too Devon, to talk about it. So she reverted to old habits, patrolling at night. Not as a vigilante, really, just as a member of Haven that had ample time to check on properties, and no far of the darkness. Carrying her own coffee buzz at all times, Sveta breathed in the cool night air as she circled the buildings, making sure nothing looked out of place. One down, a couple fo dozen to go. Maybe she'd visit a few more tonight.
She heard the hissing sound first. It took her a moment to place it. Someone was spray painting a wall. Sveta moved around a corner and got closer, taking a glance of the colorful design in the nearby street light. Someone was definitely tagging the building, and with a DNA motif, too. Did they know who it belonged to? Was it a warning, or a threat? The lonely figure in the dark clothes did not look like much of a threat, but then again, neither did Sveta. The blonde woman adjusted the green mask that covered the upper part of her face. It was the only thing left from her old vigilante habits; the rest was jeans, gloves, and a hoodie.
"Well, that's a very unique design" she noted calmly as she stepped out of the shadows.

There were perks to being able to psychically hear objects; new 'voices' meant someone or something was in motion. And these were getting closer. Her fists clinched, though she hadn't ever been in a fight in her life. When the figure stepped out of the shadows, Ty was not expecting to see someone in a mask. What is this, a comic book?
The redhead mutant relaxed ever so slightly when they complimented her design. But she was still on edge.
"I...thanks," she said tentatively, her body still tense as she adjusted the hood to somewhat cover her face. "I spent awhile perfecting it...sort of my pro-mutant callsign..." she said with a sense of pride, yet also tentative, ready to run if need be. Though it was also worth noting that her back was quite literally to a wall, so there weren't many choices of escape. She could only hope this wouldn't bite her in the ass.
The person looked surprised, but didn't bolt. Not yet, anyway. Also did not look like they have been itching to start a fight, so for the time being, Sveta kept a comfortable distance, and settled for observing. The design really was cool, if one forgot about the implications of painting a Haven building with a DNA motif.
It would be so nice if it wasn't a threat...
>>"I...thanks. I spent awhile perfecting it...sort of my pro-mutant callsign..."
Pro-mutant.
Okay then.
Sveta tilted her head, folding her arms as her eyes wandered from the girl to the design and back.
"Any reason it ended up on this particular building?"

Ty breathed deeply, keeping her mind's ear out for other objects approaching the vicinity. She wanted to just close her eyes and focus, but that wasn't normally a good idea when someone catches you tagging a wall. Even if they were complimenting her work.
"Any reason it ended up on this particular building?"
The redhead shrugged. "Honestly? Location. I know there's a handful of people around here who don't....appreciate our kind. And it'd take too much time, effort, and money to tag all of the buildings. Not to mention raise my chances of getting caught but, that's kinda moot now, isn't it?" She gave a dry laugh, though it may have sounded a bit forced, given she was nervous and wasn't certain what the masked individual's angle was yet.
"Did I pick the wrong building?" She asked after a few moments. "It isn't a mark to be hit or anything, just sort of a pro-mutant statement." She blushed lightly, her eyes glancing down at her feet. Part of her wanted to ask if the other woman was going to web her to the wall or something but she felt that could have more than one negative implication.
Pro-mutant artistic graffiti was all nice and good, but Sveta was still concerned a little by the fact that it was on Haven property. Not everything that looked innocent was, and she did not really tend to believe things on the first try, even if the person looked harmless. Especially if the person looked harmless.

Our kind. Sure, it was a safe bet that a masked blonde woman with a whole lot of confidence would be a mutant too. Sveta tilted her head, wondering what the girl's mutation was. Spray paint art?...
>>"Did I pick the wrong building? It isn't a mark to be hit or anything, just sort of a pro-mutant statement."
"Well, it's mutant owned property, so you can see why I'd be concerned" she noted "I mean I get the idea, but there's gotta be a better way to do it..."

Ty bit her lip as the figure explained that she'd tagged a pro-mutant building. Oops.
"Oh..." Her face turned redder as she looked around, almost expecting someone else to pop up as she stuffed her hands into her pockets.
"Maybe there is a better way, I just...haven't found it yet. Let's just say I'm kind of new here, still finding my bearings. And my...talents don't really translate well to much besides tagging buildings," she added with a sheepish smile.
The redhead took a deep breath as she made eye contact with the other woman again. "So....what happens now? Am I under arrest or do I need to start running?" she half-joked.
Now that they worked out the initial miscommunication, Sveta walked a bit closer to the other woman. She was clearly a mutant, and not really tagging the building for any sinister reason, as far as she could tell. An unfortunate choice, but definitely no reason to go full Haven vigilante on her just yet.
>>"Oh... Maybe there is a better way, I just...haven't found it yet. Let's just say I'm kind of new here, still finding my bearings. And my...talents don't really translate well to much besides tagging buildings,"
So... her powers were spray paint related?
>>"So....what happens now? Am I under arrest or do I need to start running?"
"Well, I'm not a cop" Sveta chuckled, shaking her head "And I'm not really warmed up for a workout right now. I'm really just curious. You use your powers to paint that?"
