Character
Personality: Ty is generally a quiet, laid back kind of girl at first glance. She isn’t very outgoing, and large crowds really aren’t her thing. She tries her best to be friendly, and she has a healthy sense of humor, albeit awkward sometimes. She tries not to take life as seriously as her default expression may suggest, but sometimes she really just can’t help it. Life is hard, and sometimes that’s just how it is.
She doesn’t often let people all the way in. She tells herself she puts up these metaphorical walls to protect others, but in reality, she’s doing it to protect herself. No one she’s let in has stuck around, and she just doesn’t want to get hurt again. Though, those she does finally let in, have a friend for…well, as long as they’ll put up with her. She doesn’t look at the long term, and tends to take things day by day.
She is loyal, and generally friendly, but when it comes to government, she harbors a lot of disdain, and is very outspoken about mutant equality. Mutants are kind of a sore spot for her, and her usually patient demeanor tends to go right out the window. She longs to belong, to be a part of something worthwhile, but at the same time believes that some battles are best fought alone.
Upon briefly getting to know her, one will find that Ty has some…quirks. She doesn’t buy anything used, and she’d much rather go back to her own place than to someone else’s, and when she does visit, she doesn’t touch anything. Though she knows this is due to the nature of her powers, it can make her seem a little weird or obsessive.
Hobbies/ Interests: Graffiti Art, Technology, Nature, Writing, Videogames. Job or part time job and description: Generally does odd jobs for money. Vandalizes public property or the property of known anti-mutant officials. Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Death, Being Helpless, Silence Special talents: Pretty good with a can of spray paint, writing poems and short stories.
Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Chaotic Neutral: Ty does what she believes is best, though it may not usually be right.
Mutations
Mutation description: Psychometry: Ty can hear “whispers” of the past. Part of this power never shuts off, as every inanimate object she gets within six feet of has a past, and is constantly replaying the sounds of which in her head. When she makes physical contact with an object, it gets clearer, and she can hear actual conversation or other sounds significant to the object’s history.
When holding an object, she can focus in on certain sounds, attuning all of her senses to a point in the object’s past, to the point where it’s almost like she was there.
While focused in, her eyes glow blue, and her mind’s eye is teleported to the moment in question. Strengths: Useful in investigation, or just learning useful bits of information, or more often than not, just eavesdropping after the fact. Weaknesses and Limitations: Only works with inanimate objects.
When she’s not touching the object, she can only hear indiscernible ‘chatter’ with maybe a word or sound that might stick out, but nothing really useful.
When touching an object, she can hear more clearly, but only certain bits unless she focuses in on it.
‘Reliving’ a moment in an object’s past happens in real time, during which she is unaware of her current surroundings, and her body is completely helpless. When she comes out of this state, she has a headache whose intensity varies based on the amount of time she focused, and she’s physically drained for a little while, again, based on the amount of time she spent focusing.
Physical Abilities
General Physical Capabilities: Ty is quite agile and flexible, and her stamina is pretty average. Fighting Style: She has no formal fight training, though she will scrap if need be Fighting Style Pros/Cons: Pros: Unpredictable because she fights dirty Cons: No formal training, easily taken down or subdued.
History Of Your Character Tyanna was born to Alice and Jonathan Fisher, with an older brother, though she never got a chance to know any of them. She wasn’t planned, and the couple were barely able to take care of the baby they already had, so they put her up for adoption. She was one of the lucky ones, adopted by Harold and Marissa Summers, who couldn’t have children of their own. They were an average, middle class family who honestly weren’t doing that bad for themselves.
As she went through school as a child, she found that things were actually pretty good. She was popular(for a kindergartner) and she didn’t have to deal with a lot of bullying or abuse from anyone. Elementary school was about the same, until her dad got laid off, and they started moving more. Life still was okay, but she found it harder to make friends because of all the moving. After a few years, they were finally settled down with a steady job, doing better than before, but she found things are never that easy.
When she was eleven, she started hearing weird murmurs, almost like whispers or static. When she touched something, she could occasionally make out words. Scared, she kept this to herself, not knowing what was going on or how anyone would respond to this. One day, while cleaning her room, she picked up a teddy bear she’d had since she was bon, and she swore she could hear her parents’ voices. When she tried to listen closer, she found herself in an odd office with her parents, a couple she didn’t know, and someone else. Her parents were holding the teddy bear. It was here, she realized she was adopted.
She got up the courage to tell her parents, but she soon realized this was a mistake. This was a world where mutants were frowned upon, and things instantly changed for her. She found herself shipped from home to home until she was about sixteen. Nobody wanted her, and to be frank, she didn’t want them either. Finding herself somewhere around Philadelphia, she ran away from her latest home and wound up spending time on and off on the streets. On occasion, someone would take her in for awhile, but things never lasted.
She always found herself right back on her own, just her and her ever-growing abilities. She’d learned to focus in on certain ‘whispers,’ and actually see events in real time that she wasn’t even present for. Due to the nature of her abilities, people who actually accepted mutants thought she was just crazy. She’d learned to steal, and to use her looks to get money or anything else she might need to survive, though at eighteen, she did manage to get her GED, juggling odd jobs and less than legal activities to get by.
On the side, she was always very outspoken about mutant equality, though on the wrong side of reality, that was dangerous, so she just resorted to using a can of spray paint.
Having eventually drifted to New York, she still felt lost, unable to find her place in the world due to the mutant oppression. Then, the rip opened, and she managed to sneak over, to find the world was different, though she’s still up to her usual stealing and using her looks to lure in unsuspecting suckers. After becoming accustomed to this new world, she found herself deaged. Now 21 again, she's getting back on her feet and trying her best to get by.
Roleplay What’s your OOC alias?: Fishy Where did you learn about this site?: Google Do you have any other characters on MRO, if so who: Jay, Skye, Dante, Brook Sample RP: Working behind the counter at a fast food place was probably mundane to most people, but to Ty, it was hard keeping focus. Every cup, every piece of clothing on every person that walked in, every ring on someone’s finger, even the building itself had a story, and they were all eager to tell her what it was. The murmurs never stopped. And gods….the money. Don’t even get her started on the money. Her fingered gloves reached across the counter to hand the customer their change before finally able to catch a beak. Or so the ginger girl thought.
“Summers.” She turned to see her manager looking at her, the short, pudgy man peering up at her over the top of his glasses, the bald spot reflecting the fluorescent lights. “Sir?” “What did I tell you about gloves?” “That they’re against dress code…” “And don’t give me that crap about mutations. If William can wrap his tail around his waist, you can find a way to work without the gloves.” The girl bit her lip as she looked at her boss with a glare, though there was a tear welling up in her bright blue eyes. “You know what? No. I’m done. You go serve today,” she breathed, her voice shaky but firm as she dropped her hat on the floor. “Have a nice day….” she said sarcastically, venom dripping on her voice as she turned and stormed out of the restaurant. Looking at her glove, she quickly tucked the edge of one of the bills she’d stuffed in there down a little farther to hide it.
