The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

How long had it been? Hours? Days? Years? Honestly, she didn't remember at this point. Between the rift, the deaging, and the fact that everything around her seemed to lack the ability to shut up, one might thing that Ty's life was rather interesting and eventful, especially when one factored in her day job at an antique store, and her night life as a vandal and pro mutant activist. And sometimes it was; sometimes she found herself with the wind rushing through her hair as she evaded the police or some pissed off property owner, sometimes she found a rather interesting object worth looking into, and sometimes she got a decent haul from some poor sucker she managed to rope in.
But sometimes, as she found herself standing in line at the DMV, her gloved hands shoved into the pockets of her purple hoodie, hood pulled over her head of thick red hair, icy blue eyes almost glazed over from the boredom...sometimes...life just sucked. But hey, technically she was twenty one again; back in her prime and able to legally drink!
Unfortunately that also meant having to get her license renewed and hoping the person behind the counter was privy to all the crap she'd been through. The line finally began to move, and she found herself idly tuning into some of the chatter around her; a wallet here, a wrist-watch there, a jacket, a shoe, an earring...everything had a story.
And so did she, considering how she didn't realize that the line was moving slower than a snail hiking through a puddle of crunchy peanut butter, and ended up bumping into the man in front of her. "Oh, shit! Sorry about that...kinda uh...got lost in the monotony for a second..." she murmured, putting on a nervous smile as her face turned a few shades darker than her hair, somewhat of a slight southern accent bleeding through for some reason.

Ty bit her lip as the figure explained that she'd tagged a pro-mutant building. Oops.
"Oh..." Her face turned redder as she looked around, almost expecting someone else to pop up as she stuffed her hands into her pockets.
"Maybe there is a better way, I just...haven't found it yet. Let's just say I'm kind of new here, still finding my bearings. And my...talents don't really translate well to much besides tagging buildings," she added with a sheepish smile.
The redhead took a deep breath as she made eye contact with the other woman again. "So....what happens now? Am I under arrest or do I need to start running?" she half-joked.

Ty breathed deeply, keeping her mind's ear out for other objects approaching the vicinity. She wanted to just close her eyes and focus, but that wasn't normally a good idea when someone catches you tagging a wall. Even if they were complimenting her work.
"Any reason it ended up on this particular building?"
The redhead shrugged. "Honestly? Location. I know there's a handful of people around here who don't....appreciate our kind. And it'd take too much time, effort, and money to tag all of the buildings. Not to mention raise my chances of getting caught but, that's kinda moot now, isn't it?" She gave a dry laugh, though it may have sounded a bit forced, given she was nervous and wasn't certain what the masked individual's angle was yet.
"Did I pick the wrong building?" She asked after a few moments. "It isn't a mark to be hit or anything, just sort of a pro-mutant statement." She blushed lightly, her eyes glancing down at her feet. Part of her wanted to ask if the other woman was going to web her to the wall or something but she felt that could have more than one negative implication.

There were perks to being able to psychically hear objects; new 'voices' meant someone or something was in motion. And these were getting closer. Her fists clinched, though she hadn't ever been in a fight in her life. When the figure stepped out of the shadows, Ty was not expecting to see someone in a mask. What is this, a comic book?
The redhead mutant relaxed ever so slightly when they complimented her design. But she was still on edge.
"I...thanks," she said tentatively, her body still tense as she adjusted the hood to somewhat cover her face. "I spent awhile perfecting it...sort of my pro-mutant callsign..." she said with a sense of pride, yet also tentative, ready to run if need be. Though it was also worth noting that her back was quite literally to a wall, so there weren't many choices of escape. She could only hope this wouldn't bite her in the ass.

Ty honestly didn't know what she'd stumbled upon, but she knew it could get bad quickly, so maybe it'd be a good idea if she just slowly backed away and checked for her bottle somewhere else and--
"Ah!" she screamed as the wolfman fake-lunged at her, and she found herself cowering just a bit. No lamp meant no magic, after all. As it stood, she was about as good as your run of the mill...human. Despite the slight murmurings of nearby objects...but those really couldn't help her here, could they? Definitely not.
Managing to focus on the situation, she noticed a knight was knelt in front of her and...someone....was checking on her? "Oh, I'll be okay...I think," she said softly, biting her lip a little, her heart still pounding in her chest but her legs didn't seem to be getting the memo from her brain to 'GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!'
And so she stood, frozen, eyes glued on the scene before her.

No one in their right mind would be out this ungodly hour, which was precisely why a certain blue-eyed redhead was out on the streets. At this ungodly hour. Only illuminated by the occasional streetlight, Ty was dressed in a dark blue hoodie, with the hood pulled up, blue jeans, black boots, and her traditional black gloves. Her larger than usual gloves donned her hands, and her purse was slung over her shoulder. Turning down an alley, she almost disappeared in the shadows, obscured by buildings.
Setting her purse down, the girl got to work, reaching in and pulling out a can of spray paint. She gave it a few good shakes, and expertly sprayed it along the walls, artistically outlining what looked like a strand of DNA, her trademark. Once done with the black, she filled in some areas with green, and others with yellow, and still others with blue.
She smiled as she worked; she'd done this dozens of times on the other side of the now-closed rip, and she was just hitting her stride here, but this was habitual, nay, instinctual by now.
As she worked, she heard the all too familiar murmurs of her belongings, and from the whispers she heard, this wall had seen some things as well, though she wasn't about to find out what that was. Especially since it was a wall in New York City in a totally innocent alley way.
She finished, putting the cans back in the bag and slinging it over her shoulder, but she stopped. She swore she heard some new sounds. Someone--or something, rather, was close to her, coupled with that feeling that she was being watched. The young woman tensed, prepared for anything.

As usual, Ty found herself late to the party. Dressed in a costume she deemed appropriate, she finally made her way to the maze, just as the web of light cascaded over the area. She walked through the maze, the buzzing of objects ringing in her ears as always.
But suddenly....something hit her. Her lamp! Where was her lamp?!? She was powerless without it! Or if the wrong person had gotten their hands on it...that could be bad. Her movements became more frantic as she ran deeper into the maze, looking around, listening for the murmur of her lamp.
She bit her lip as her eyes scanned the area, looking at the scene ahead of her as a...strange knight confronted a werewolf? But it didn't seem as though either of them had her lamp, either...

"Sounds almost like some young adult novel's tagline," the artist replied with a light snort at her companion's comment. "Though there's a dark truth to it."
After that was a moment of silence as the cool night air provided a bit of a breeze to accompany them, though for Ty, it wasn't quite as silent. She could hear the whispers coming off of her company's belongings, even some coming from the wall, the ground under their feet, the dumpster not far from them...
Part of her had to wonder if she came back later, would she hear this conversation. She knew she would, but she never had that sort of experience before, and she had to ponder for a moment what that might be like. Probably surreal. Maybe she should try sometime.
Her train of thought was broken by a soft hand on the back of her neck as lips met hers. She returned the very quick kiss, her hand moving expertly to grab the other woman's butt, discretely slipping a piece of paper into her back pocket in the meantime. Her number.
They normally didn't call back when or if they found it, but eventually something would stick, if for nothing more than another meeting, right?
"Yeah, I should be fine," she said with a soft smile. "Tonight was fun. You take care of yourself, and maybe we'll meet again." With that, she leaned in for one more parting kiss before turning and disappearing into the night.

The redhead's blue eyes looked over her work of art, a very colorful double-helix. DNA, to be precise. This particular one used dominantly red and blue. "It doesn't take me very long anymore, but you kind of have to be quick, ya know?" she said with a wink. "That way you don't get caught."
She nodded, looking over at Charlotte, thumb stroking her hand idly as she spoke. "Honestly, yeah. I don't usually have a choice. I mean...I came here all by myself, I was all by myself back home. That's just how it is, I guess. But I survived, right? And since I've made it this far, it isn't a big deal for me to just keep going," the woman explained.
Smiling, she changed the subject back to her art. "One day, the city's gonna be covered with these," she murmured mischievously.

Ty smiled as she agreed, now much less worried about the voices she'd heard, or the weapons her 'date' was now concealing. "Well, considering my medium is spray-paint and my canvas is the side of buildings...we'll have to do a little traveling," she said with a smirk. Her tone wasn't rude, but she was letting her more sarcastic, playful side out to play for a bit. Why not? Besides, Charlotte seemed like the type to appreciate that kind of humor. And if not, well she'd had a good time already so it wasn't all for nothing.
She pulled her shoes onto her feet; she surprisingly didn't have a problem going out this late either, but she was relatively good at staying off of people's radar. Usually.
Grabbing her purse and taking the other mutant's hand, Ty locked up the apartment before leading her back outside. However, instead of going straight to the motorcycle, she led her maybe two blocks over, to an abandoned building. On the wall was a spray-painted image; this one was more abstract, but a blend of blacks and greens, and still quite the sight to behold.
"I don't always make a message or political statement. Sometimes, I'm just blowing off steam," she admitted.

Ty just lay in bed for a few moments, or what she thought was just a few moments, anyway. As she lay there, staring at the ceiling, gathering her thoughts and just enjoying the moment, she realized she'd heard the shower cut off. She didn't know how long, but she was realizing it'd been some time. As she rolled over onto her sighed, she saw Charlotte standing there, dressed.
She didn't move, looking the other woman over with a smile. "Still recovering," she teased, smirking a little before finally standing to her feet and stretching. Then, she walked to the other side of the room, grabbing a black shirt and pair of black shorts from the closet and getting dressed again; she'd figured she'd get the clothes she'd had put in the dirty laundry when she felt like finding them. "That was a memorable first time, that's for sure~"
After a few moments, she spoke again, thoughtfully. "Ya know, if you don't plan on leaving anytime soon, I could always take you to see some of my art," she suggested.

Fingers entwined in her hair, and she shuddered lightly at the touch. Her breath caught as she nodded, looking the other woman over; she was covered in scars and tattoos. This woman just radiated badass, and yet she was gentle. The kiss sent a shiver up her spine as she too, moved to lessen the amount of clothes she was wearing.
Her hand moved to trace a tattoo on Charlotte's arm as she looked at the ink that lined her skin. The two of them were like night and day; one tough girl with a dark mohawk, body decorated with tattoos and scars, and the other a petite redhead, not a single mark or slightest piercing on her fair skin, save for her pierced ears. On the surface, Ty looked like just your average 'good little girl,' even if innocence was only skin deep.
"Heh, I guess there is..." she murmured with a slight smile as she leaned in for another kiss, her heart pounding in her chest as her breath caught once again.

The hand holding was...nice, she had to admit, and though she didn't usually take off the gloves for physical contact, she figured it'd been awhile, and...it was so much nicer without the gloves. "Little more than a place to lay your head, eh?" she replied with a smile as she was turned to face the other woman.
She took off her other glove and stowed it in her purse, then set it on a nearby counter before taking the hand back. When she saw the woman leaning in, she shuddered as hair was brushed out of her face, smiling lightly. Her breath caught at the words spoken.
"I'm ready..." she breathed, leaning in for another kiss. "But...I have a confession to make. I've never actually done...this...with another woman," she said, a light blush tinting her cheeks as she looked at Charlotte, focusing more on the familiar murmurings of her house and furniture than she was the potentially awkward moment.

The redhead accepted the helmet, glad her hair was short enough to put it on without worry. But before she could put it on, she notice that Charlotte looked confused. After she spoke, Ty's facial expression matched the confusion. "I don't think so. I mean, I don't think that's very likely," she answered. It was true, she hadn't spent a birthday on this side of the rip. Besides, she was pretty sure she'd remember a girl like Charlotte.
And then, before she knew what was happening, she felt the other woman's lips pressed against hers, and she took a sharp breath of surprise before returning it. When it broke, Ty had a slight smile on her face; confusion notwithstanding, that was actually....rather nice. With a nod, she put the helmet on, climbing onto the bike behind Charlotte and wrapping her arms around the other woman's waist. "It uh...really isn't that hard to get to. Several blocks down and it's the complex on the left," she explained before taking off.
It wasn't a really eventful bike-ride, then again it wasn't very long, considering the time of night and the fact that they were riding. The neighborhood wasn't exactly savory, but at least Ty had a place to stay this time. Once the bike was parked, Ty handed Charlotte her helmet back, and once everything was situated, slipped one of her gloves and stuck it in her purse. Then, her now-bare hand took the other woman's as she led her a few buildings over.
Inside, and up the stairs, she kept her eyes and ears out for trouble as they walked down the hall, and she unlocked the door to her apartment, leading her inside. It wasn't a very big apartment, but it was kept clean(enough), and it would be adequate for what they had planned.
"I'd drop another cliche and say 'welcome to my humble abode,' but I'd say humble is a bit generous," she said with a slight giggle.

Tentatively, Ty took the hand that was offered to her, smirk plastered on her face. "Well," she said after they got outside, thinking, "I don't exactly have a car or anything right now, so it looks like I'm riding with you." She looked at Charlotte, then at the motorcycle, which...didn't seem like a bad deal to be honest.
"I'd rather my place, if that's all right with you," she said after a few moments of thought. She knew the murmuring never stopped, and she would rather be surrounded by murmurings she was familiar with. Besides, she was still *aware* of the not-so-comforting sounds coming from her company for the evening. Maybe tonight wasn't going to end with her dead, but if it did, hopefully the other girl would at least make good on her offer first, right?
Ty took a breath of the night air, though it being the city, it wasn't exactly 'fresh' air, but it was comforting nonetheless. "I really don't live too far, maybe several blocks; just far enough to be too far to walk," she said with a slight giggle, looking over at the dark haired woman once again.
