The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Midterms were over. Well, they would have been over had Allyssa actually been in school this semester. But since her father had decided he wasn’t going to pay her tuition anymore, Allyssa hadn’t been able to start her classes in January, instead having to get a full time job to simply be able to pay rent.
But her roommates were all done their midterms, and as had become custom over the last 2 years, that meant a girl’s night out. So Allyssa got ready, picking out a black dress with white lacing.
It didn’t take long at this point for Allyssa’s three roommates to finish getting ready as well. And then they were off, to this wing place that Sarah wanted to check out, before they most likely went out dancing or something along those lines.
Half an hour later found Allyssa and her three roommates sitting at a table, feeling very overdressed for the place. Though, Allyssa hadn’t had the chance to dress up much lately, so she was going to enjoy it.
Skye was getting the hang of working at The Missing Link; the woman had to admit it was growing on her. What hadn't grown on her in the slightest was the yellow-green top that she swore glowed in the dark, coupled with those ungodly short shorts. Granted, the did have the figure for it, and the top showed off her naval piercing, but this was something more akin to what she'd sleep in. She didn't even pick up dates dressed like this.
While working, hair tended to settle on blue, though she didn't know why. She'd pegged blue for sadder emotions, but now that she had the hang of things, she wasn't here nor there; she was just doing her job with more or less an empty apathy that was sometimes interrupted by a pink or an orange when she had a nice, maybe flirty customer.
Her next table seemed to be a group of college girls, and this was obviously not their last stop of the night, judging by their attire. Her hair turned to a more friendly orange as she approached the table, the light flickering as she approached the table.
"Good evening, my name is Skye and I'll be your waitress," she said as she started to pass out menus, only to see the light emitting from her hands suddenly disappear.
She looked flabbergasted for a moment, and stood there in silence. What the hell?
"Uh, what can I get you to drink?" she attempted to roll with the punches. Blaine had told her about something called an adapted, so maybe it was that? She didn't know, but she wasn't too sure about it.
After they had been sitting there for a few minutes chatting, their waitress came over to take their drink order. A brunette wearing a hideous yellow-green uniform. Though, it did do a good job showing off both her figure and pierced belly button.
”I’ll have an iced tea,” Allyssa said with a smile at Skye. Then she sat back and watched the waitress as the other women at the table ordered their drinks. She was quite pretty, Allyssa thought, even with wearing the horribly designed uniform.
Unfortunately, taking orders for four non-alcoholic drinks didn’t take very long, and then Skye was walking away. Giving the young woman a wink as she turned, Allyssa watched Skye walk away until she heard a voice call her name. ”What?” she asked.
”This is supposed to be girls’ night,” Mary said with one raised eyebrow.
”And she’s a girl,” Allyssa said with an innocent smile. ”Plus, even you’ve got to admit, she’s hot.”

Skye nodded, jotting down the drink orders. "Alright then, that's easy enough," she said, noting that no one was really drinking. Maybe they weren't old enough(and didn't have a fake ID like a certain young woman with color-changing hair). "I'll be back in a few with your drinks." As she turned to walk away, she noticed one of the girls give her a wink, which she gladly returned, her lips curled up into a smirk as she went to get the drinks.
Once she was several feet away, her hands lit up bright pink, and subsequently so did her hair. She blushed a little; her hair rarely turned that color while working, but then again most of the people who hit on her here were old enough to be her dad, and that girl was a lot more subtle with it. And good looking. She brought a couple at a nearby table their burgers, and then made her way back to the table of college girls, setting their drinks down and actually doing a decent job of remembering who got what.
"There you are. You all ready to order?" she asked, her Maine accent bleeding through as she spoke, her notepad ready to take their orders.
Seeing that Skye returned her wink, Allyssa was still smiling as she chatted with her friends at the table. It was fun, easy chatter, exactly what Allyssa would have needed if she had just finished her midterms. Exactly what her roommates needed.
As Skye had said, it didn’t take long for her to return with their drinks. ”Thanks,” Allyssa said, a slightly coy smile on her lips as she looked up at Skye.
Did she know what she wanted? That really on what that question was referring to. But before Allyssa was able to say something, Mary responded. ”I think we need a few more minutes. We were too busy talking.”
”Well, I think I know what I want,” Allyssa said, her eyes still on Skye, smile widening a bit. ”But I can wait.”

Skye nodded as they said they'd need more time; it happened, besides, it gave her time to get her other tables straight. She smiled as the brown-headed woman spoke to her, though she noticed her light had died down again. That was going to take some getting used to, but she gave the girl a more flirty grin. "Take your time, I'll be back in a few." This time, she walked to another nearby table, passing in front of the woman.
Again, once she was out of range, her hair turned pink again, and the flickering lights returned. She couldn't tell if it was just platonic flirting, but if it was, it was brightening her mood nonetheless. After finishing, she passed by the table again, this time flaunting her figure just a little for her admirer. Might as well have a little fun, right?
After passing out a couple of checks and taking care of a table of newcomers, she made her way back to her current favorite table.
As Allyssa saw the smile on the waitress’ face, she grinned wider. Tonight had just gotten even more interesting. Girls nights often ended up with her roommates eying and flirting with guys, which as much as she loved her girls, that just did nothing for Allyssa.
This time once Skye had left the table, Allyssa turned her attention to the menu in front of her. Wings took up most of the menu, and Allyssa couldn’t help but think that they’d be good, but that wasn’t exactly the type of food you ate while you were dressed up like this. Then again, this wasn’t exactly the kind of place you normally went to eat when dressed like this.
Then Allyssa saw Skye approaching the table again, though not to talk to them, simply to walk past. And if Allyssa wasn’t mistaken, Skye was flaunting the figure that her uniform gave a good view of. So she let her eyes take a good look at that flaunting as Skye passed, giving her a smile as her eyes returned up to Skye’s face.
And then she was gone again, off working, so Allyssa turned her attention back to her menu. There really weren’t all that many choices. So by the time Skye returned, Allyssa had made her decision. ”Yeah, I’ll have a cheese burger with fries,” Allyssa said with a smile. ”And your number, maybe?”
Skye giggled a little, taking the rather attractive woman's order down, and turning to the rest of the table and getting their orders as well. She hated that she was stuck at work for this, but also understood that if she wasn't working, this wouldn't be happening. Once set, she turned and went to put the orders in, beginning to get used to the fact that her powers seemed to shut off when near that particular table. As always, once she was outside of several feet, her pink lights turned back on, catching the admiration of a man at a nearby table, but she wasn't paying him any mind.
Maybe if he came back and there weren't any customers as charming as the one she was dealing with now.
After settling a few more tables, she came back to refill the ladies' drinks, and then went back to the kitchen and picked up the tray with their orders on them. "Here you are," she said, passing out the plates but leaving her admirer's for last on purpose. She sat the plate down, but just under it where only the other woman could see was a napkin. On the napkin was scribbled in pen: Skye, followed by her number and a little note that said 'I'm off at eleven' with a winking face next to it. "Enjoy your dinner~" she said happily as she bounced away, once again giving the woman a little something to watch as she left.
She giggled when Allyssa asked for her number. This night was looking better and better. Allyssa just smiled up at Skye as the woman took the orders from the rest of the table.
But then Skye was gone, and Allyssa turned her attention back to her friends at the table. Though, every time that Skye posted by, Allyssa's eyes were drawn by the brunette. And the way that she seemed to bounce by each time.
By the time that the food was delivered, Allyssa was feeling a little left out, as she had for most of the semester. Laura had noticed a group of guys, apparently good looking based on the comments from Laura and Suzy, sitting a couple of tables over. ”Almost every time,” Allyssa said, nodding at her roommates attention to the guys as Skye was placing the plates down.
But then she saw the note tucked under her own plate. Reading the short note quickly, Allyssa's eyes shot up to the waitress,a smile growing on her face. She hadn't actually expected to get the woman's number. Well, since girls night seemed to be turning into her straight roommates trying to hook up, Allyssa was very glad her own flirting seemed to have worked much faster than her friends’.

She returned the wink once again, then went back to her other tables, refilling teas, bringing beer, and all of that kind of thing. However, once out of range, the pink light that radiated from her hands was pulsing quite vividly. Though occasionally it would now go between pink and a bright, excited yellow. Part of her wondered if her potential date--whose name she hadn't yet gotten--had noticed. But considering they were in a mutant establishment, it likely didn't matter. Hopefully. Even still, it's not like the girl would notice as long as she stayed within several feet, right?
She picked up another table, taking orders and going through the motions, though her coworkers in the back noticed she was more...vibrant...than usual. Honestly, they were happy to see her with some genuine spirit instead of faking it like everyone usually did. Hey, mutant friendly or not, work was still work. Skye sadly didn't have to return to her table very often now that they were set, but she did manage to make one customary trip back, the hair once again going back to normal when she got close.
She refilled the girls' drinks. "Everything to your liking?" she asked. "And can I interest you in dessert before I bring the check?"
As they ate, Allyssa noticed that more of their attention was being turned toward the table with the guys, especially Laura’s. And as their meal continued, the guys started to pay more attention to their table as well.
So Allyssa turned her attention, at least partially, to Skye as she moved around the bar working. Though Allyssa’s smile faltered slightly when she noticed that Skye’s hair was not the brown that Allyssa had seen earlier, but rather a vibrant pink. That was quite different, she thought as the smile returned.
Different and special, though Allyssa couldn’t help but think she liked the brown better.
Then Skye was back at the table, asking about dessert. Allyssa glanced around the table before looking back up at the waitress. ”I could definitely go for something sweet,” Zoe said.

Skye smirked at the woman's answer. "You mean besides me?" she whispered with a wink as she bit her lip a little. Thankfully her shift would be over in about an hour. She stood with her pen and pad ready, biting her lip a little more before regaining her composure; she was at work, after all.
"Well, I recommend the molten lava cake, but we also have cheesecake and ice cream. There are other kinds of cakes, even though we're not known for our desserts. Still though, they're nothing to take lightly," she said with a smile. She looked towards the other people at the table, but they didn't seem too interested in dessert. Well, they did seem to be, but not in anything that was on the menu.
Her other tables seemed to be straight for now, so she just waited on an answer for a minute.
Allyssa grinned hearing Skye’s response. And the other woman was biting her lip. This was looking to be a pretty good night, even if her roommates seemed to be gravitating to that table of men.
”Well, I would prefer you,” Allyssa said softly. The three others at the table weren’t paying any attention, but there really wasn’t any point in broadcasting what they were saying to everyone. ”But I’ll settle for the lava cake while I wait.”

"All you have to do is wait an hour," she said quietly. Once she took the order down, she bounced her way back to the kitchen, putting the order in and then making her rounds, dropping off a few more checks, picking up a few plates, and taking a few more orders.
Several minutes went by, and she finally returned to the table with the check and the woman's cake. "There you go, enjoy~" she said sweetly, as she gave her soon-to-be date a wink then made her way back to the rest of her tables. It was looking to be a great day.
Allyssa grinned up at Skye when she was told she only had to wait an hour. That was good, Allyssa could kill an hour. ”Can't wait,” she said with a smile as Skye walked away. And Allyssa watched Skye for longer this time as she walked away, seeing her hair turn a bright yellow colour, and yellow light start to shine from her hands when she got to about 10 feet away.
Allyssa smiled even more. The woman obviously didn’t mind that her mutant powers stopped working when she was nearby. And, Allyssa was a little glad for her strange ability; she rather preferred Skye’s brown hair over the other colours she had seen.
It really didn’t take long for her to return to the table with the check and Allyssa’s cake. ”Oh, I’m sure I will,” Allyssa replied with a wink before Skye walked away again. Turning back to the table, Allyssa was a little surprised to see her roommates actually looking at her and not the guys at the other table.
”Hurry up, Allyssa, the guys asked us to go dancing.”
”You guys go ahead,” Allyssa said before glancing over at Skye briefly. ”I think I’m going stick around here.”
