The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Blaine was getting better with teasing back and forth, Lee thought as she grinned at him. If things went even close to as well, or as poorly depending on your frame of mind, this was likely going to be one hell of a sparring match they were going to have. And despite the fact that even a month ago, Lee wouldn’t have even envisioned herself thinking about sparring with someone, never mind actually using her powers while sparring, Lee was getting more excited and eager to do it.
”You’re not the only one,” Lee replied softly when Blaine said it was like he’d dropped off the face of the earth 15 years earlier. ”Well, in my case it was when I ran to Toronto, but same idea. I started to actually get some sort of life when I came to New York. And, well,” as Lee continued, she grinned at Blaine. ”When I moved back here this time, I ended up meeting you. I guess there’s just something about this city.”
But then Blaine said that he’d love to do something with her for Christmas. Lee’s grin widened even more, though with how he had murmured his answer, Lee’s cheeks flushed slightly.
”My cooking tends to end up burnt,” Lee told Blaine, her happy smile turning a bit sheepish. ”I mean, I don’t burn water anymore, so I’ve gotten a bit better, but it doesn’t often taste very good. So I guess that means we’re going to be stuck with take-out for the foreseeable future.” Not that Lee really minded; most of her time living in New York had consisted of take-out from a variety of different restaurants.
And speaking of food, Lee realized that she had finished her slice of pizza, so she reached out to grab another. As she took a bite, Lee thought some more. Rachel was a decent cook, at least. After taking a couple moments to figure out how to word it, Lee opened her mouth again. ”Remember how I said my sister would want to meet you after she saw your picture?” Lee asked softly. ”I mean, if you wanted to, I could ask her to cook, and at least that way she’d be kept busy so wouldn’t be able to bombard us with as many questions. Or, we could always just hide out at your place.”
He nodded silently, eating and listening. He figured she knew why he'd seemed to have dropped off the face of the planet; after all, she knew most of his life story by now. And still, he didn't mind; even as they were sitting and talking about Christmas--something he usually didn't care about. And seeing her smile, it made him smile; she was even prettier when she smiled like that. Though she did smile around him an awful lot. Not that it was a bad thing.
"Well, apparently texture is important when cooking...since I have no way to judge that, I've caught a lot of flack when I've brought my lunch anywhere. But I also season really well..." he shrugged, figuring she probably wouldn't want to navigate his fridge anytime soon.
He thought about her next question. "I'm really not sure. As much as I like just hiding out at home with you, I do still need to meet your family at some point," he said, finishing his second slice and reaching for another.
The smile kind of slid off Lee's face when Blaine said that he had problems with texture in his cooking. ”Yeah, even when something tastes good, is really hard to get past a weird texture,” Lee said, and after a moment her smile returned. ”Though apparently texture is what some people say is why pineapple on pizza is weird. Though, if you can season that well, you're a step ahead of me.”
Then Blaine was saying that he’d like to hide at home with her, Lee’s smile widened. ”I think I’d prefer that too,” Lee said. ”But you’re right, you will need to meet her at some point. So I can ask her if she wants to make dinner. Though maybe lunch would be easier…”
Blaine shrugged lightly. "Interesting; I never really thought about it because all I really pick up when eating is flavor," he explained.
Then he thought about what she said about meeting her sister, and he gave a nod. "Lunch sounds good; maybe we can get together before then, and then head to your place for lunch," he suggested. Time alone with her was nice, and he figured it'd be a good way to spend Christmas. After finishing his fourth slice, he pushed his plate back, deciding that he was probably done now.
Lee smiled and nodded as Blaine gave ideas for what they could do on Christmas. ”That sounds like a good plan to me,” Lee told him. ”I’ll talk to Rachel, see what she says, and let you know. Though I do really like spending some time alone before hand.”
Continuing to smile slightly, Lee turned back to her pizza, finishing off her third piece.
