The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

As they hit the ground, Lee felt Blaine's hold on her loosen, and she twisted the rest of the way out. And grinned as she heard Blaine laughing behind/under her. She was quite sure that she had just surprised him and made a number of steps in proving what she said about being able to handle herself.
But as they weren't actually sparring, just practicing some holds, Lee wasn't in a rush to get to get up like she normally would be, and before she knew it, Blaine’s legs were wrapped around her waist and his arm around her throat. And like with the last hold, this time he was putting some pressure into it. Not a crazy amount, but enough that it was slightly harder to breathe and she was going to have to work too get out.
Tucking her chin again and shrugging her shoulders, Lee heard Blaine whisper in her ear. Raising her hands, one went to Blaine's arm around her throat throng to squirm her fingers in to pry some extra room, while her other hand felt behind her for his own hand, planning to pry his fingers open as soon as she felt them.
He could see her moving to escape the hold, and he slightly adjusted his form, still careful not to add too much pressure. But it seemed he didn't apply enough, or that his movement gave her an opening, but he found her getting free of his hold.
He let go, rolling to his feet with a smile on his face. "You're not half bad," he said with a chuckle. "Hell, you might be able to hang with most of the guys I've fought on the circuit." He waited a moment, seeing if she was done, or if she was ready for more.
She had managed to get her fingers very slightly in between her throat and Blaine's arm and had started to pull his fingers up when Lee felt Blaine letting her go. Sitting up, Lee saw Blaine rolling to his feet with a smile on his face. Getting to her own get, though slower than Blaine had, Lee returned his smile.
Lee laughed slightly with Blaine as he spoke, though for a different reason. ”I doubt, at least today,” Lee said with a shake off her head. ”I was taking way too long to remember what to do, and I don't have that much energy today.”
Lee have a bit of a shrug. ”Anything else you want to show me?”
"Well you're still pretty good, even for being away from it for so long." He gave a nod as he leaned against the wall. He thought a moment, but he didn't get sore so it was often hard to judge when he'd had enough.
"Honestly I think that's pretty good for today," he said with a shrug. "Just know that it won't be as easy as time goes on," he teased lightly, though it may have been a viable warning.
Lee smiled when Blaine said that she had done well for being away from any kind training for so long. ”Thanks,” Lee said softly. Though, Lee reasoned, maybe with a bit of practice, she could get back up to where she felt she should be.
When Blaine said that he figured that was good for the day, Lee nodded. Energy-wise, Lee would be good to go longer than Blaine would, but that wouldn’t stop her from being sore the next day. Then she laughed slightly when Blaine warned her that it would get more difficult the more she trained. ”I should hope so,” Lee replied with a grin. ”I’ll be pissed if you keep taking it easy on me once I’m back into shape just because I’m a girl.”
Walking slowly over to where Blaine was standing against the wall, Lee stretched her neck a bit. ”So, if we’re done here, did you have any plans for the rest of the day?”
He chuckled lightly. "I admit, I was apprehensive at first, but you'll be okay," he said with a teasing grin. "Probably."
He shook his head when asked about plans. "Nothing planned today. But I do have something to do later tonight," he answered, thinking it better to reveal his activities once he was done.
”Oh, you think I’ll probably be alright?” Lee asked, raising an eyebrow at Blaine. ”Is that it? I’ll ‘probably’ be alright?” Lee shook her head. Really, after everything she’d just done, that’s all he had to say?
He had plans that night, but nothing until then. Lee nodded, she knew that Blaine was off work that night, but she was needing to head to the bar for part of the night, so it wasn’t all that surprising that he had made plans. Plus, other than this gym trip, they hadn’t actually talked about doing anything that day.
But they had done a fairly decent workout, and Blaine had sparred before she had gotten there. ”You hungry?” Lee asked. ”Did you want to grab something to eat”
”Consider us now even~" He said with a playful grin before getting more serious. "You'll be just fine.” With another smile, he gave her a nod.
"Sure, I could go for a bite," he said after a moment. Besides, with his fight planned and her having to go to the bar later, they wouldn't get as much time as they did on days where he worked. Besides, he couldn't recall them actually going out before. So it would be nice.
Oh, they were even now, were they? Well, she had possibly gone a little far earlier with his sparring, but still…
But Blaine could go for some food. Lee smiled at him. ”Great, cause I’m getting hungry,” Lee said. ”So what is there around here? I don’t think I’ve ever eaten around here.”
He didn't say anything more to tease her; after all, as far as that was concerned, it was done. At least until she took another verbal jab. Though, he realized he wasn't quite as good at his verbal sparring as he was physical fighting. But he was getting there, thanks to her.
"There's a few places around here I frequent. Good hole-in-the-wall pizza joint, some wannabe Mexican place that isn't half bad, and there's a burger joint that will actually surprise you. They're all pretty good, so it's whatever you're in the mood for." He gave a smile, then waited for her to answer.
Hole in the wall pizza, Mexican, or burgers? Lee moved to lean against the wall beside Blaine as she thought. Pizza or burgers? What was she in the mood for?
”Pizza sounds good,” Lee replied after a few more moments of thought. ”Just give me a few too clean up and change.”
He nodded, brushing his hair aside as she spoke. "Yeah, I should probably do that to," he gave a chuckle. "Meet near the entrance when done?" With that, he gave her a quick peck on the cheek before heading to the changing and shower area, grabbing his bag from his locker and showering before changing into a fresh set of clothes--a tight black tee shirt and a pair of jeans, topped with his usual leather jacket.
Lazily, he tied his hair back in a ponytail--he didn't really have time to wrangle his long hair at the moment, and then he made his way back out to the gym area. Leaning against a wall where he could see most of the gym, he waited for her.
Lee nodded when Blaine suggested that they meet near the entrance, and smiled as he kissed her cheek. Those small little gestures like that from Blaine were becoming more frequent as each day passed, but they didn't stop Lee from smiling each time.
As Blaine turned away, Lee went to grab her bag and jacket from the chair she had left them on before making her way to the women's change room. After a quick run through the shower, Lee changed into a black and grey check skirt, red t-shirt with a black knit sweater over top. Her knee high, black boots finished the outfit. That just left her makeup to do.
It didn't take Lee long, and 20 minutes after she entered the change room, she was walking back out, jacket on and bag over her shoulder. Seeing Blaine guest ahead of her, Lee smiled as she caught up to him. ”Alright, show me to this hole in the wall,” Lee said as she pulled a hat out of her pocket to put on, tucking her still damp hair under it.
It didn't take her long at all to catch up with him; he didn't think a whole minute had passed before he saw her coming out to meet him. All in all, he was satisfied with how the day had went; they'd gotten some good training in, and now he was taking her to one of his usual dining spots. To him, that was a good day.
"Sure thing. It's not too far from here, maybe a ten minute walk." Most places he visited were within an hour's walk of his apartment, and given this was Blaine, that gave him several options as far as places to go, but when he was with Lee, he tried to keep the walking distance a little shorter. He knew she could handle it, but he was becoming more considerate--especially after a workout like today.
As he took her hand and led her out the door, he found himself thinking. He and Lee complimented each other very well; not just personality-wise. While he was unable to feel pain, his energy levels worked exactly the same as everyone else. Meanwhile, Lee didn't have to worry about energy, but she still had to deal with pain. And then, he thought about how tough and solitary he had tried to be before he met her. While he was still that tough-guy, around her, he was different; like she had taken his heart and melted it. But...he was okay with this.
Before he knew it, they were walking up to the pizza place in question, and he led her inside and to the line. "Well, here we are," he finally said, breaking the silence, but it hadn't been an awkward silence like those that plagued him when they were first getting together. Now, the silent moments were just as sweet.
Lee smiled when Blaine took her hand to start them walking out of the gym. And started them in the direction of the pizzeria.
Now that they were out in the cold, Lee realized that it was likely a good thing that Blaine had decided to end their training session when he had; she could feel her leg muscles tightening up as they walked along the street in silence, she would most likely be sore the next day. Still, Lee was happy with how the day had gone so far. The training had gone well, and Blaine finally seemed to believe and understand that she could take care of herself in a fight, that she would be able to hold her own against him. Lee couldn’t help but smile as they walked, thinking back to the training. Though she hadn’t been overly happy because she hadn’t reacted as automatically as she wanted to, Blaine had been impressed with what she had been able to do, so it must have been decent.
And now he said that he was actually looking forward to sparring with her. Strange as that seemed, or, well, it would seem for a ‘normal’ couple, Lee was actually happy about it. Today had been fun, Lee remembered that it had been fun when she had sparred before, and this was something that was important to Blaine, so Lee was excited to be able to share it.
She would definitely need to come to the gym with Blaine again in the future. At this point, Lee thought that anything that would let her spend more time with Blaine was a good thing.
It was about then that they reached the restaurant, it really wasn’t that far from the gym, and they walked in. It really did look like a hole in the wall, but Lee had learned years ago that outward appearances, especially here in New York, that meant nothing about the quality of the food.
As they came to a stop at the end of the like, Lee leaned into Blaine, resting her head against his shoulder.
”What were you thinking?” Lee asked. ”Just grab slices, or share something?”
