The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He thought she had a good idea going, actually, and he nodded when she'd finished. "True. Really wouldn't want either of us hurt, but that's why we're taking it slow," he agreed, then gave a small pause before shaking his head.
"Nope, I don't have the faintest idea. Like I said, I don't have a ******* clue what I'm doing," he said with a nervous chuckle. "Though your idea sounds good. He took a small breath through his nose as he thought; he wasn't really used to following someone else's lead, but it seemed as though he had no choice in this situation.
Looking down, he watched her trace his hand with her fingers.
Lee didn't think that was the only reason they were taking things slow, but that was alright. At least Blaine was open and interested in the experiments. That was good, promising. He really did seem much more interested in the relationship than he had been a week earlier. Even if, like he said, he was clueless.
”So I guess we can work on that for the next while,” Lee said. ”This is nice, too. I definitely can't say I would be opposed to more snuggling like this.
“That is something else that we could after work, sit like this watching movies.”
He gave another nod as she spoke, his hands idly tracing her stomach--at least that's what it seemed to be. But Lee probably knew by now that it was very much intentional. And he was surprisingly gentle, watching his fingers much like he would when drawing.
"I agree," he murmured lightly, still watching his hand as he spoke. "Yeah, we can. Sounds like pretty good ideas so far." He smiled lightly as he once again found himself relaxing; that was really easy to do around her, he noted. It made him happy to know that she not only accepted him, but was willing to try this, even if it would be slow going for the most part.
All of a sudden, Lee felt Blaine's fingers moving on her stomach. It was definitely unexpected, the light touch through the fabric of her shirt causing a shiver to run through Lee's body. ”That feels really good,” Lee whispered as she felt another shiver.
But Blaine was up for watching movies rather than having to deal with reruns on tv. ”So what kind of movies do you go for?” Lee asked, not even noticing that her hand had stopped moving note that Blaine's were tracing back and forth over her stomach. ”I tend to go for either sci-fi it chick flicks, depending on my mood.
“You know, that's another thing we could try at some point. Actually going on a date to see a movie.”[/color
He smiled at her words, glad he was doing something right.
"I tend to go for the action movies, mostly, though sci fi works for me too," he replied as his fingers still danced along her stomach through the fabric of her shirt. "Chick flicks, though? I may have to give that one a hard pass," he said, scrunching his nose a bit at the thought, not that she'd be able to see that, but his tone said he was serious.
"Going to actually see one might be nice, assuming we can agree on something to watch," he said lightly. He noticed she'd stopped tracing his hand, but he purposed himself to keep tracing her stomach; after all, she did seem to like it, and that was a start.
Blaine liked action movies. That made sense with how he enjoyed fighting. But it also worked because a lot of sci-fi tended towards action. But he didn't like chick flicks. Lee couldn't help but be a bit disappointed by that, but she supposed that was pretty typical. Tarin had been an exemption and perfectly matched for her in a lot of ways.
And he liked the idea of going out for a movie sometime. Lee smiled at that; it would be nice to go to the movies with someone else again. ”I'm sure it won't be too hard to decide on something fairly easily,” Lee said. Then she sat there for a few moments. ”Are you busy next weekend? Kevin's at his father's, so maybe we can go see something in the afternoon and grab some dinner before work.”
"Eh, maybe it won't be," he agreed, sort of enjoying this time together. He didn't say anything, but it meant a lot to him that she was doing this, and willing to put up with him through whatever hangups that would come--because they most definitely would.
"No, I'm free next weekend. So I guess it's a date then~" He smiled, but then froze a little as it hit him; he was going on his first date in almost two decades, and while the thought initially made him nervous, it wasn't so bad because it was with Lee. That thought alone made him feel a little better.
He moved his free hand to slightly rest on her leg as he sat in a rather peaceful silence. This, he figured he could get used to.
Lee smiled when Blaine said that it was a date. Those were words that she hadn't heard in years, words that she hadn't actually thought that she would hear again. They still had to decide what movie to see and what to eat, but those were things that could be decided later.
The next thing Lee knew, Blaine was placing his other hand on her thigh. While his fingers were still moving across her stomach. Lee's breath caught in her throat as she instantly felt her heart rate increase. Lee didn't mind, not one bit. But that was part of the problem, Lee didn't mind, and that wasn't going to work too well with Blaine's desire, his need, to move slowly.
And Lee succeeded in resisting the idea to turn around and give Blaine a much more passionate kiss than had surprised him not much earlier. But that resistance caused Lee's body to tender as she sat there.
He noticed her body language change, but he didn't really say anything; he just moved his hands so they were just idly resting around her, and hoped that was okay. He took a deep breath as this awkward nervousness set in; it was obvious he didn't have the first clue, but, he wondered about the sudden shift.
Oh well, maybe it wasn't that big a deal. Finally, he broke the silence. "I think I need a beer," he said, finally giving into his urge to grab a drink. "You need anything while I'm up?" He looked down at her, waiting for a response.
Lee didn't say anything about the hitch in her breathing, about her now reaching heartbeat, or what else she would like to start experimenting with, and Blaine didn't say or ask anything, either. But he must have sensed something about what she was thinking and feeling because the hand on her stomach stopped moving and he was now simply holding her. That was good. Lee knew that she didn't have the same kind of patience Tarin had had with her, even if she remembered and understood being on Blaine's side of the equation.
So Lee took the opportunity and silence to get her breathing and heart back under control. But then Blaine broke the silence saying that he needed a beer. And despite the fact that Lee would have loved a beer, she bknew that would be a horrible idea at this point.
”I'll have a coke or coffee,” Lee said before sitting up so Blaine could move, then shifting so that she was sitting properly on the couch again.
When she moved, Blaine stood up and carefully made his way into the kitchen. Once there, he opened the fridge, grabbing a beer and popping it open. But...he cursed under his breath as he was out of soda, so he just prepared the coffee pot and hit the button, sipping on his beer as he waited for it to get ready. After a few minutes, it was ready, so he fixed her a cup just the way she liked it, then grabbed another beer from the fridge since his was already half-gone.
With the beers in one hand and coffee in the other, he even more carefully returned to the living area, setting the coffee cup in front of Lee once he got there. Then, he set his beers down just as carefully, and sat next to her on the couch again. "There you are, just the way you like it," he said with a soft smile as he leaned back against the couch.
While Blaine was in the kitchen, Lee sat with her head back against the couch, he eyes closed. Despite the fact that she hadn't been sure how much she was going to be able to actually put into the relationship, how much of her heart hadn't been taken by Tarin, Lee was quickly coming to find herself liking bland quite a bit. So adding in how Blaine had been touching her, knowing it was a conscious effort he was making for her, how his fingers had felt…
This was going to be harder than Lee had thought. How the hell had Tarin managed this much self control?
It didn't matter. Lee knew how important the baby steps they were going to be taking in their relationship were to Blaine. They had been desperately needed by her younger self as well, at least until she had jumped ahead by leaps and bounds.
She wasn't about to ruin this for them, ruin it for Blaine, simply because she couldn't control her actions.
And then Lee felt Blaine moving closer. Still leaning back, Lee opened her eyes and turned her head to give Blaine a smile as he approached the couch. And there was her coffee, streaming in the mug that Blaine had set on the table in front of her. As well as two beer bottles, one of which was already half gone.
Yeah, definitely a good thing that Lee had stayed away from her. ”Thanks hon,” Lee said with a smile as she gave Blaine's knee a slight squeeze before leaning for her coffee cup.
He wasn't on the couch long before taking a long swig of his half-drank beer, and though he caught her squeezing his knee out of the corner of his eye, it was hearing her call him hun that almost made him choke on it. He paused, swallowing his mouthful before sputtering a little, and then he gave sort of a smile. One more thing that was going to take some getting used to, but...it was sweet, and it didn't bother him in the slightest, it was just surprising.
"You're welcome, hun," he replied, trying the word out. He thought it sort of sounded funny coming out of his mouth, but he was doing his best. To counteract this, he took another gulp of beer, leaning back and relaxing on the couch again. He put his right arm around her, letting his hand just rest on his shoulder as he cracked open his second beer. Seeing as how he did it with one hand, it was obvious he'd been working at that trick for quite a long time.
Lee heard Blaine coughing after she thanked him for the coffee, and she looked at him in concern. But he recovered quickly, and Lee couldn't keep the grin off her face when Blaine called her ‘hon’.
Followed a moment later by his arm around her shoulders. Relaxing back against Blaine's arm and the back of the couch, Lee took a sip of her coffee. Just in time to see Blaine opening his second beer one handed.
Lee's eyes raised in surprise ”That's quite the trick there,” Lee said. ”I didn't even know that was possible.”
He smiled, looking over to her. "Just a little trick I figured out. Basically you just use your thumb as a bottle opener. I've seen one other person do it, but apparently....it hurts." He gave a small shrug before setting the beer bottle on the table and showing his thumb to her, which now had a slight imprint of the bottle cap on it.
"Guess it's just another use of my abilities." Would be nice if I could feel a ******* kiss, though. At the thought, he gave a slight sigh, but didn't verbalize any of this.
