The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Seeing Blaine's smile faded a bit when she said that it might be a little early to know, a crease formed between her brows. ”A week ago, you didn't even think you could have a relationship,” Lee pointed out softly before she smiled up at him. ”We are still getting to know each other, after all. But everything I've seen, and everything I've felt, it seems worth it so far.”
Then Lee felt Blaine's hand traveling along her arm up to her hand, and she shivered slightly. And it was really nice when he held onto her hand on his own. Was this what Tarin had felt when she initiated contact with him?
And as they sat there holding hands, Lee felt Blaine squeeze her hand. A little tightly, and Lee's eyes scrunched a bit at the corners, but she didn't say anything. It was a little tight, but it didn't act hurt.
"That is true," he murmured, smiling a little more now. At least it was looking good so far; that was a good sign in his book. He readjusted his hand a little, not really sure exactly what to do with it, but her reactions told him holding her hand was a good idea. He just wasn't quite sure how it worked, for obvious reasons.
He relaxed a little after a few moments, still sort of holding onto her hand as he looked down at her. "Did you want to put your guitar up?" he asked quietly, after awhile.
He settled into the couch a little more as he became more content. His free hand brushed his hair to the side so he could see better.
At least once she explained a bit, Blaine seemed to be happier about what she had said. At least he adjusted good hand and it wasn't as tight anymore, and Lee's eyes relaxed as she was looking up at Blaine.
And then he asked about the guitar, and Lee looked down and realized that it was in fact still laying across her stomach.”Yeah, I probably should before I do it,” Lee said with a laugh. Turning, but keeping her one hand holding Blaine's, Lee set her guitar on the for leaning against the coffee table.
Then Lee had an idea and started shifting on the couch, sitting up a bit and scooting back on the couch, not letting go of Blaine's hand as she moved. Finally after manoeuvring, Lee leaned back against Blaine, wrapping his arm that she was holding onto around her stomach. Resting her head against his shoulder, Lee sighed happily. [Color°deepskyblue]”Any ideas for the rest of the night?”[/color]
He watched her maneuver, a smirk plastered on his face as she moved without once letting go of his hand. He had to admit, she was quite nimble and flexible to be able to do that, and perfectly handle the guitar with her free hand. His facial expression showed that he was obviously impressed by this.
And then she moved so she was leaning against him, his arm around her stomach. She seemed happy with this, and while it was still a bit awkward--or a lot of awkward--he thought it was quit sweet, and she did seem comfortable. And then she asked about ideas.
"I don't have the first clue," he replied with a small shrug. "Hell, I've been clueless this entire time, actually." His free hand sort of rested on his lap as he thought. "What would you usually do?" he asked; after all, she had more experience with the whole relationship thing than he had.
Blaine didn't seem to mind that she had move. Though unfortunately this position meant that she couldn't look at Blaine as easily. But it definitely did feel nice to sit here like this, with Blaine's arm around her.
But Blaine didn't have any idea what to do, he said he was clueless. But after a moment's thought, that kind of made sense to Lee since he had never really done anything like this before.
”Well, if I was home, I'd be sitting doing paperwork,” Lee said, though she knew that wasn't what Blaine had meant. ”Tarin would be passed out in bed because of the contact by this time, and I'd be starting mindlessly at the TV. Somehow, I don't think either are very good options for tonight.”
"Well, I think we've established that I don't pass out easily, and paperwork would probably be more interesting than what's on TV at this hour," he quipped lightly, following his remark with a hearty chuckle. Even though he couldn't fully enjoy this closeness, he did like how it seemed to make her feel, and that was at least a start.
However, her answer didn't really help him in the slightest. The hand on his lap sort of drummed his fingers lightly as he thought, letting his eyes drift closed for a moment. He let out a mildly frustrated breath as his eyes opened and he drew a blank. "But in either sense, that takes all of those options off of the table, doesn't it?" He looked down at her, but was unable to make eye contact, so he figured the top of her head would have to do for now. How romantic...Then again, Blaine was probably as romantic as staring at the back of someone's head, so maybe it was appropriate.
Lee nodded, her head still resting against Blaine's shoulder. “You're probably right, on all accounts,” Lee said, turning her head to actually look at Blaine.
And this was probably the closest she had been to Blaine's face during the entire week they had spent together. Looking into his eyes for a few moments, Lee closed the distance between them, pressing her lips softly against his for a few moments before slowly pulling back.
Their eyes met, and Blaine's heart sort of caught in his throat as he took a sharp breath. He'd never seen that look before, especially not from her, and while he was still contemplating what it could possibly mean....she kissed him. Now his brain was really racing; should he return it? How would he even go about doing that? After all, kissing was based solely on the one thing he didn't have. Instead of doing anything, he just froze, his face red.
After a few moments, the kiss broke, and he averted his eyes for a moment. But only for a moment, as his eyes soon came wandering back to hers. "That do anything for you?" he asked, his voice very somber as he looked away again. Things like this were why he beat the crap out of people for a living; his mutation was a gift, then. Right now, it was more of a curse than a blessing.
As she pulled back from the kiss, Lee saw Blaine look away, his face red. But it didn't take long before he was looking back at her. And asking if that had done anything for her.
It was a very different kiss than any she was used to, having been completely one sided. But that didn't mean it was bad. Giving Blaine one more, even quicker peck on the lips rather than answer, Lee leaned her head back against his shoulder. ”What about for you?” Lee asked. ”What did you think?”
"That...is a hard question," he answered after a long pause following the quick peck. He sighed, leaning his head back a little, though he didn't mind her leaning back against him like this. He closed his eyes in thought, trying to figure out how to phrase all the thoughts that were swarming in his head like a bunch of angry hornets, and trying to sort out which ones should stay in a thought bubble. It was all so much, and it weighed pretty heavy on him.
"I think it was a very sweet gesture," he finally said, "But honestly...I wouldn't know. I really wish I could." He sighed. "I mean, it's not like I'd know what to do. I'm quite literally flying blind here." He gave a dry chuckle to try to lighten the mood, but it was obviously forced.
He gently let go of her hand, but he didn't pull away. Instead, he let his hand rest on her stomach. "At this point...I think if it makes you happy, I'm happy," he murmured softly, giving her a rather awkward peck on the side of the head.
Of course it was a hard question. If it had been easy to answer, Lee probably would have been able to answer it without asking in the first place. When he did answer, Lee nodded. ”I'll let you in on a little secret,” Lee said after a few moments. ”I didn't hand a clue what I was doing the first time I was kissed, either. I know that's a bit different, but.. “
As her words trailed off, Lee felt Blaine moving his hand out of hers. But before a frown could form because of that, Lee realized that he wasn't actually taking his hand away, just resting his hand on her stomach. But it was his next words, and more importantly, his next action that really made Lee smile as she felt him kiss the side of her head. ”Then you must be pretty damn happy right about now,* Lee whispered.
Then Lee sat there in silence, idly tracing her fingers along the back of Blaine's hand and wrist,a crease slowly forming between her brows as she thought. ”Do you have muscle memory?” she finally asked, slowly piecing together a plan, experiments.
He leaned his head back and relaxed as she spoke again; her words making perfect sense to him. Then, he gave a nod as he smiled. "Yeah...I'm pretty sure I am, then," he murmured softly.
And then she asked another question. "You're throwing me all kinds of curve-balls tonight, aren't you?" he teased lightly with a chuckle. "Yeah, but it's a little different for me. Everything new takes an extreme level of concentration at first. Once my mutation kicked in fully, even finding my balance was difficult sometimes; my parents had to get plastic or metal glasses so I wouldn't accidentally shatter them, stuff like that. Eventually, things like that become easier. Which is why I have an easier time holding a beer bottle than your hand," he explained. "When I draw, I watch my pencil instead of the page, for the most part. But that's just a bonus fact about me."
He looked at her, sort of hoping this was the answer she was looking for.
Hearing Blaine's teasing, Lee laughed slightly with him. ”Well, I've gotta keep you on your toes somehow, don't I?”
But then he was answering her question, and Lee made sure to listen carefully. Depending on the answer, it could make some things easier in the future.
And apparently things wouldn't as easy nearly as quickly as she thought. Or at least as she hoped. ”Fair enough,” Lee said slowly. ”Though, I guess that's what experiments are for. So whenever you want to try any of them…”
He looked down at her and quirked a brow at the mention of 'experiments.' For some reason, he was both intrigued and taken aback. He didn't know why, but this may or may not be a good thing. But at the same time, he did trust her, at least.
"What kind of...experiments?" he asked, still looking down at the top of her head. Then, he cracked a smile and had to hold back the snort that came with his next thought. "Is it gonna hurt?" Okay, maybe it wasn't as funny as he thought, but joking like this wasn't usually in his nature.
When Blaine questioned the idea of experiments, Lee grinned. Then laughed when he asked if it would hurt. ”The experiments are to hopefully avoid either of us getting hurt,” Lee said, her fingers starting to trace over the back of Blaine's hand again.
”As for what the experiments would be, I was thinking we'd start small, holding hands more, some more kissing. Unless you have other ideas you'd like to try.”
