The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The questions came as she had expected, but his face didn't make it look like the idea upset him. Taking a deep breath as she lifted her eyes to fully look at him again as he continued.
As Russel finished speaking, finished asking about her powers, Lee took a sip of her coffee before she spoke. ”It is constant, but I have much better control than I used to have and don't take as much as I used to. But the fact is that physical contact causes my to siphon more than simply being near someone.”
As she finished speaking, Russel slid closer on the couch and Lee grinned at him. Though the laugh he gave sounded a little nervous. ”Don't give me a reason to want to leave you in an exhausted heap on the floor, and you should be fine,” Lee said with a small smile as she leaned over to kiss him.

He listened intently; one thing he kind of enjoyed was learning how other mutations worked. After all, not all of them were as simple as his. Though the thought did cross his mind to be careful, it didn't stay very long.
He briefly froze when she mentioned not giving her a reason to leave him an exhausted heap on the floor, because...technically he may have done that already. But if the events of a few hours ago didn't drive her to that point, then he figured maybe he should be alright. Maybe..
"I think we've passed that point by now," he said with a slight chuckle, less nervous than before but there was still a hint of doubt there. He did know that without any energy, he'd be useless; unable to run, unable to even shift. So he'd have to be on whatever passed on his best behavior.
He relaxed considerably when she leaned in to kiss him again; he did remember what she said about contact being more draining, but he really didn't care.
He let one arm wrap around her, sort of running through her hair.
Lee couldn't help but laugh slightly along with Russel when he pointed out the fact he thought they were past the point of him pissing her off that much. ”Yeah, you're probably right about that.”
Lee had planned on the kiss to be quick, but apparently Russel had other ideas about that as his arm wrapped around her. Reaching out a little blindly toward the coffee table, she set her cup down going, though at the moment not really caring, that it didn't spill on her.
Once that was done, Lee shifted on the couch a bit, though without breaking the kiss, to wrap her arms around Russel's neck.

He had to chuckle slightly at the thought that things had gone this route instead of the obvious route. He knew full well that, had the roles been reversed, he likely would have wasted no time in leaving the intruder a useless, naked heap on the floor. No small talk, no name-gathering, and damn sure no kissing. But...maybe if the intruder was as attractive as she was, then maybe he'd have made an exception? Hell...he didn't know, and it really didn't matter, because what happened had already taken place. Though, he was quite thankful for the way things transpired.
His other arm rested on her back as he kept stroking her hair. He really didn't notice her setting down the coffee cup, or anything for that matter. All he was focused on was the moment at hand. And he was becoming more and more happy that he hadn't decided just to leave and not come back. Nothing had been stopping him from doing so, and yet...here he was.
After a few moments, he broke the kiss to look her in the eye. A semi awkward silence started to settle in, but he really didn't know what to say at the moment. Besides, it was worth noting a lot of what he'd said to her was a lie anyway, so...
At that moment, he got the mental image of himself, a crumpled heap on the floor. Yeeeah it was best if she kept thinking his name was Russel and that this was all a huge misunderstanding.
As the kiss continued, Lee felt her heart beating faster, harder in her chest. And Russel's hand lightly brushing through her hair.
When Russel pulled away a few moments later, he didn't pull far away. Just enough that he was able to look at her. And as Lee looked back into Russel's eyes, she couldn't help but think it was weird to be staring into blue eyes like this instead of brown.
Even though they were sitting there, in each other's arms, and Russel was now fully dressed, it still felt a little uncomfortable after a few moments. Was this what it was like to kiss someone you didn't really know very well without the influence of alcohol?
But what to say that might make things less weird? While she thought, Lee let her fingers run into Russel's hair, then down the back of his neck and back up.
”I guess the question is what do we do now?” Lee asked softly with a smile. ”Or are we just going to sit here and make out all afternoon?”

She asked the exact question he was thinking, and to be honest, he didn't have the slightest idea. He slightly shuddered at her touch, his eyes closing for a second as he thought.
"That's actually a good question," he said with a chuckle, eyes still closing. "Though I wouldn't necessarily argue with making out all afternoon." He gave a sly grin as his eyes slowly opened, a mischievous gleam in them. His hand that had been around her began to rub her back gently as his other hand move to idly rest on his own lap.
"I am open to ideas, though. If you have any." He sighed softly, looking around the room, then back at her.
As her fingers trailed up and down his neck, Lee felt Russel shudder under her. Such a small movement when she didn't didn't know what places on him would cause those reactions… Lee smiled, even if Russel couldn't see it because he had closed his eyes.
But when she suggested the idea that they just make out all afternoon, Lee saw Russel grin at her. And start to rub her back as his other hand left her hair.
Did she have suggestions for what they could do with their day since she had decided not to head in to Rachel's shop? Lee's fingers were still idly moving as she thought. ”That,” Lee said slowly as she looked the small distance into Russel's eyes. ”I think depends on what you want here. Just this, or something a bit more long term…”

He paused--more like froze--for a moment as she mentioned those two words that he simply dreaded. Long...term? That normally spelled trouble for Jay, as he wasn't really a commitment kind of guy. But here he was, staring it straight in the face with a complete stranger.
"Well," he finally stammered, "I'm not too sure about long-term right yet," he explained, looking her in the face. "I mean, we do barely even know each other after all. Maybe if we get to know each other a little better in time, then we can look at that as an option later, if it's appropriate?" Yeah, that sounded like a plan. His heart was racing, however, and now once again, he had no idea how this was going to turn out.
He flashed another nervous smile, though he had to admit he loved the way her fingers danced along the back of his neck.
Lee noticed Russel freeze as he heard what she asked. At least it wasn't a long time he seemed frozen, as he started stammering an answer after a few moments.
An answer that really didn't answer a whole lot, to be honest. Other than, yet again, here was a man just about terrified of commitment that she had kissed.
As Russel finished speaking, Lee simply raised an eyebrow at him. ”Honestly, Russel, even if you said you were all in for that, it's not like I'd be telling Kevin about us any time soon.”
Lee took a deep breath as she looked at the man in front of her. She didn't even realize that her fingers were still moving at this point. ”Getting to know each other sounds like a good place to start.
“Or,” Lee said with a bit of a laugh. ”We could just make out more, and then get to know each other better.”

He smiled sheepishly at the raised eyebrow. "Of course. You did kinda catch me off guard, though," he teased lightly, deciding to leave it at that instead of trying himself out of it because...usually he just ended up getting himself in more trouble.
He looked her over again, practically melting into her fingers. Something about that just sent shivers up and down his spine, so he just relaxed into it for a moment, even after she'd finished speaking. Finally, he leaned in again, only mere inches from her face.
"I gotta say...I prefer the second option," he murmured before closing the gap again. Hey, he did have his priorities.
He didn't seem upset, just surprised by her question. ”Sorry?” Lee said with a slightly sheepish smile of her own. ”it's just, any suggestions would depend on the answer.”
He leaned forward, stopping just inches from her face, his voice so soft that Lee wasn't sure she would have heard it if Russel hadn't been that close to her, and her breath caught in her throat. Then he closed the remaining space between their lips. Lee kissed back, her hand that had been on the back of Russel's neck moving up to the back of his head, pulling him closer. Her other arm wrapped around his back, her breathing heavy, her heart pounding. It had been so long since she had felt this, had even thought she would feel this, and right now it was feeling very good.

He nodded, completely understanding where she was getting at. But, he just didn't think he was the relationship type. And really, he didn't want to start now. Though maybe talking in circles hadn't been the best way to do that, but he guessed it didn't matter. After all, he didn't plan on sticking around for an extended period of time.
She again returned his kiss, but he noticed her hand had moved to the back of his head and she pulled him closer. He took a sharp breath, wrapping both arms around her in return as his face flushed. When he finally pulled back, he was slightly winded, but smiling.
As she was kissing Russel, all thoughts of what else they could be doing that afternoon we wiped from her mind. His arms were around her, holding her tight, her hand in his hair.
And then Russel was pulling back. At first, Lee followed, wanting to prolong the kiss. But then Lee let him pull away, and saw the smile on Russel's face. Heard him breathing heavily. She was, too.
No, Lee decided, and shook her head slightly. She was not done with all that kissing business yet. Using the hand still on the back of his head, trying to close her hand in hair that was much shorter than she had been used to, Lee pulled Russel's head toward her again.

Jay's mind was wiped free of everything else except the woman right next to him; not even the awkwardness of earlier lingered. He could feel her resistance as he tried to pull back, but she finally let him.
He caught his breath, and he'd started to speak, but then she shook her head, and the next thing he knew, her hand was tangled in his hair and she was pulling him towards her again--and she was quite strong for that matter. So, he continued kissing her, his arms holding her close as he started to relax again.
Though a part of him wondered what in the world he'd awakened.
If Lee had been thinking properly at the moment, she may have been a little concerned about how intense things had gotten, about what was going on with a man she had just met. Especially with how they had met.
But the fact was, Lee wasn't thinking properly. She was focused on how his lips felt against hers, how his hands felt on her back.
And yet part of her was feeling that this was not enough. Finally, Lee reluctantly pulled away, though not far; leaning her forehead against Russel's, Lee closed her eyes as she tried to catch her breath.
”Right now, honestly,” Lee said in a whisper. ”It feels like you running home was just a waste of time.”
