The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Lee nodded as she listened to Russel speak, saying that he tended to be more of a long term planner, that when he went with the flow it tended to end up with a court date. That least bit caused Lee to laugh again. ”I can definitely see how that would happen with your powers,” Lee said, looking over at Russel again. Though with what she was able to see, and had seen…
Pushing those thoughts from her head, Lee paid attention to what else Russel was saying.”I don't know about that, he's pretty fascinated with powered anyone he finds out someone's a mutant,” Lee said with a shrug. ”And I agree about the clothes. We definitely need to find you clothes before Kevin finishes school.”

"Yeah, it does tend to get me into trouble, heh..." He motioned at the room. "Obviously..."
Granted, he wasn't entirely complaining about the situation now as he subtly slid a little closer to her, acting like he was just settling in and changing position. "Yeah...therein lies my original predicament," he said with a dry chuckle. "My apartment's nowhere near here, so that cuts out running home right quick. And I highly doubt you have something lying around. This blanket isn't likely to stay on forever, so....any ideas?" He gave another sly smirk, maybe flirting just a bit, but he tried to at least keep it subtle. Sort of testing the waters now that things had calmed down considerably.
He looked up at the ceiling, thinking in an attempt to come up with a plan in time.
Lee wasn't looking directly at Russel when he moved, so she didn't notice that he moved closer when he shifted on the couch.
Lee was about to answer Russel when she saw the smirk on his face. Without even thinking about it, Lee raised her hand and swatted Russel, not even thinking about what exactly it was she was doing until she felt her touching his chest. His bare chest.
As soon as she realized this, Lee quickly pulled her hand back. And there may have been a bit of a blush on her cheeks as she looked away. ”No, I doubt anything I have would come close to actually fitting you,” Lee said, glancing toward her bedroom as of in thought to give herself a reason to look away.
Taking a deep breath, Lee looked back to Russel. ”So just how far away is nowhere near here?”

He jumped a little, startled by the swat, albeit sliding just a little closer to her. "Hey! What was that for?" he exclaimed, looking over at her, though he did notice, that for a moment, albeit a brief one, her hand lingered on his chest. But just as quickly as it had happened, it was gone.
"As in I walked as a golden retriever for several miles, ducked into a nearby alley, then shifted into the corgi. I may be a former high school track star, but I don't think I have that kind of time."
He sat in silence, still thinking, but as he looked over at her, his mind wandered elsewhere. Out of his peripheral vision, he judged the distance to the door, accounting for any furniture in the way. Feeling he had nothing more to lose, he leaned forward, still keeping the blanket in place, and very swiftly let his lips meet hers.
When Russel asked what the sat head been for, Lee just turned her head and looked at him with her eyebrow raised. As of he didn't know what it had been for. Though, the fact that he was shirtless… Yeah, that made it something else. Lee wasn't sure what it that made it, but it did.
Then Russel went on, saying that he had walked several miles before he had changed into the Corgi form. Lee just started at him, her head tilted to the side as she stared at him. She wasn't nearly as active a walker as she had once been, and she hadn't needed to go for a run in years. But still, that didn't seem like very far too her.
”That's it?” Lee started to ask, but was cut off suddenly when she felt lips suddenly pressing against hers. It was such an unusual, unexpected thing to happen to Lee that it took her a few moments to react.
At least it took her a few moments to consciously react. By that point, Lee discovered that she was leaning into the kiss. Eyes widening, Lee froze for a moment. Then Lee brought her hands up to push Russel away as she leaned back.

Jay's heart was racing as he felt her start to lean into the kiss, so he started to relax, and feel more at ease. But then, just like that, she pushed him away and leaned back. He noted from her reaction that it caught her by surprise. Now, his mind was definitely racing as he only had a fraction of a second to react or it could be badly for him. Instead of going with his instinct and making a break for it, he slid all the way back over to the other side of the couch.
However, as he did so, he managed to leave the blanket behind. Quickly, he grabbed for it, covering up as fast as he could, his face starting to flush. He scooted as far against the armrest of the couch as he could, despite the distance between them would be a snap to close if she so chose to kill him.
"I uh..." he stammered, looking around and definitely judging the distance to the door, trying to figure out if he could make it. However, the way his heart and mind were racing, he didn't think he could pull it off at this point.
Lee's heart was pounding in her chest. Why it was, she couldn't answer at that moment. This wasn't Tarin sitting on the couch with her, who had just kissed her. He only had one tattoo, she had definitely seen enough to know that . Then she saw him moving away, not of the couch, but as far from her as he could while still sitting.
And leaving the blanket behind as he moved. If there hadn't already been a blush on her face after the kiss, the definitely was one there now. Averting her eyes, Lee scratched the back of her head as drew her bottom lip between her teeth.
At least Russel was pulling the blanket back towards him, Lee noticed in her peripheral vision. Then she heard him start stammering. ”Yeah…” Lee started, not even sure what she was going to say.

Adrenaline was rushing through Jay's body as he looked at her, seemingly just as flushed and confused and awkward as he was. Time seemed to slow as his mind raced through the different possibilities. Should he break for it? Shift and just make an exit through a window? Shift back into the pup and hide under the sofa? Kiss her again?
He felt like either his heart was going to pound out of his chest or his head would explode. Or both. Both seemed logical. After what seemed like an eternity, he sat up. Then, he rose to a full standing position, letting the blanket just drop off.
"I think...maybe I should..." he jerked his head towards the door before turning around and slowly walking towards it. He didn't look back, but he was inwardly bracing for something heavy and/or made of glass to hit him on the back of the head.
Lee's bottom lip was still being worried between her teeth when she saw Russel stand up, the blanket falling to the floor. Yeah, that did not make the situation any better whatsoever, and Lee's blush intensified as she made sure to raise her gaze up to his face.
It was definitely more than enough of a distraction that it took until Russel was halfway way to the door before Lee realized what it was he thought he should do.
Blinking, Lee stood up. ”You are not leaving my apartment like that,” Lee announced. Her neighbours all thought everything was normal, Russel was not going to screw that up for her.

"I'm not. Just gunna unlock the door, crack it just a little, then shift into a dog and open it the rest of the way with my face before disappearing into the horizon," he replied, almost poetically. "I mean, I figure that'd be the best way to do it."
His heart finally started to slow, and his head was clearing, though that may or may not have been a good thing. Stopping somewhere between the couch and the door, he turned to face her. "I mean, unless you have other ideas. Or wanted me to stay?" He brushed his hair from his face before giving her a sly wink, but at the same time, watching her closely. After all, he did remember what she did with a stuffed animal. He just hoped his reflexes would be up to snuff if she didn't like his remarks.
Hearing Russel's plan for how he was going to get out of there, Lee raised her eyebrows. ”And how are you planning on getting out of the building?” Lee asked. Wait, why was she questioning his leaving, why was she stopping him?
Then he was turning to face her again, asking if she wanted him to stay. ”I…” Lee paused and took a deep breath, then bit her lower lip again. What did she wasn't him to do? ”Honestly, I don't even know,” Lee finally admitted with a slight laugh. ”I never expected my first kiss in four years to be a shifter I found naked in my kitchen.”

He paused. "Honestly...I forgot all about that..." he murmured, eyes fixed on hers.
"Well...we're at a stalemate here, now aren't we?" he pondered, slowly making his way back over to her. "I'm not even sure what I want to do right now. Not...not entirely, anyway," he gave a small chuckle, then stopped when she revealed he was her first kiss in four years.
"I...wow...I mean..." Slowly, he sat on the couch next to her. "So...do I owe you an apology for that? Or another one?" He was trying to make light of the whole situation, though he honestly wasn't sure how well it was working. So...before she could answer, he kissed her again.
A stalemate? Not exactly what Lee would have called the situation. More like confused indecision.
But rather than heading toward the door, or even just staying where he was standing, Russel slowly made his way back toward the couch.
And then seemed floored when she revealed that this had been her first kiss in four years. Yeah, it was a bit long, Lee thought. And if she was thinking that it was a long time, it must seem like forever to others.
Lee didn't have a chance to answer Russel about whether he owed her an apology, though, before she even had a chance to say a thing, he had leaned forward again to kiss her.
Lee's breath caught in her throat as she felt Russel's lips pressing against hers. It only took another couple moments, but then Lee was lifting her arms, wrapping them around his neck.

Okay, arms around his neck were a good sign, he figured. And she didn't push him away this time, so he held the kiss for a little while longer. His heart started racing again, but this time, it wasn't because he was scared or nervous. But now, whatever happened...he'd say it was worth it. His arms wrapped around her in return.
After a moment, he pulled back and sort of used one hand to brush some stray hair from her face as he just sort of looked into her eyes for a moment. "So I take it I'm staying for a little while?" he asked softly, lips curling into a light smirk, followed by that signature charming wink.
The kiss continued, and with each second that passed her heart pounded harder on her chest. Then Lee felt Russel's arms wrapping around her, and her breath caught in her throat again.
Before much longer Russel pulled pulled back and simply sat staring into her eyes for a moment. And then Lee jumped slightly as she felt his fingers on her cheek, startled by the light touch despite everything.
It was only then that Lee realized that her arms were still raised, around Russel's neck. Feeling his hot, bare skin under her arms. ”It seems so,” Lee breathed. He was close enough that he'd be able to hear her. A slight blush started to raise on her cheeks again even as she looked back into Russel's eyes. The fingers of one of her hands started lightly running up and down the back of his neck.
”Oh screw it,” Lee whispered as she leaned forward this time, closing the space between them to kiss Russel.
