The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Are You Sure Your Sister Isn't In Another Castle? (Serena)
With a back pack stash with every portable console she could carry and a suitcase full of clothes she'd managed to grab before bolting from that place. Shame about her non mobile consoles, but frankly, she didn't care anymore. They were worth the cost to get away from there, to get freedom.
Stepping out the cab she'd ridden for longer than was really comfortable, she looked the building up and down. Fancy. That was good, right? At least it meant she might be able to doss on a sofa for the night out of guilt, or something. The quest pointed inside so it was the right place at least but was she really doing this? What if it was all some cruel joke her power was playing on her and whoever she was about to accost was just some unlucky sod it had picked.
But she had to know, she had to get some kind of closure after coming all this way. Taking a deep breath and entering the building, she made her way up the building, floor by floor, until the pointer finally led her up to a door. Oh god this was the hard bit. Butterflies appeared in her stomach as she reached out a shaking hand to knock.
When it open, there was no doubt anymore, this was the right place. The woman in front of her just looked far to familiar to not be who she was looking for. "Hi, my names Alice. I....I think I'm your sister."

Serena was partway through applying lipstick when her doorbell went off. She blinked. She wasn't meant to be going out for another couple of hours, and her mail generally got held downstairs. Who could be at the front door? She thought Ami was still on shift... Unless that was a fib so she could surprise Serena, that was just the sort of thing she'd do.
Clad in a pair of dark leggings, and a deep red top, with her hair done up into a neat pony tail. Tall black, strapped boots were sitting neatly by the front door of the apartment before she stepped up to it, and undid the bolt, half expecting to see her girlfriend's gorgeous smile and brunette locks.
She was met by... A poster for punk girl video gamers. Who was this kid? She'd not had a stray teen scene like this one near her apartment since she'd met Sylar all those years ago, all though he looked less like a troubled punk girl and more like a half xenomorph than anything else.
After a few moments of awkward, mildly drawn out silence, Serena began to open here mouth "Uhm who ar-" before being interrupted by the sudden outburst by the vibrantly haired "You um..." The blonde paused for a few moments.
Was this some kind of prank? She didn't have a sister. She knew she didn't. "Well... Miss? Um. Are you quite sure you're in the right place?" pausing before adding in a firmer tone. "I don't have any family."
Of course she didn't believe it, Alice barely believed it herself, but the startled woman in front of her looks so much like the pictures of Aunt Elizabeth around the estate that she was sure it was true. "That's whats the quest says. And yes, you do have family. I think."
Pulling out a picture she'd swiped and offering it to the blonde, "Does this ring any bells? It my Aunt or at least that's what my mother told me. She's called Elizabeth." Alice watched her for any reactions, hoping maybe she'd let something slip. If she held up the photo, it wouldn't be unfair to assume they were the same person, just at different points in their life.
"Look I know this is pretty unbelievable but my grandmother said something about a sister and her no good daughter violating father. Or something." The words might have been a bit harsher than that.
"I just, I can't go back. Please if you are her can you at least tell me before I leave," her eyes misted up at the thought of coming so far for nothing. She just couldn't go back, couldn't marry that simpering idiot her grandmother had picked out. It was too much.

Well... The blue haired teen's accent was certainly reminiscent of her Grandmothers, if with a much less pompous overtone behind each of her words. "Quest? I... Look-" she was so confused. Serena's comment on not having family wasn't entirely the truth, she knew her Grandmother, she just refused to acknowledge and speak to her most of the time, because she sucked.
Serena had only ever seen two pictures of her mother. One of them was a portrait that used to be around of her father and mother holding an infant happy in a picture, before she was born. The second, was a small cut out of her mother wearing a dress and showing off a half smile as she was laughing at the camera man (Serena's dad), which the man kept in his wallet at all times, and would occasionally show her.
This was definitely that woman, and she'd known her name was Elizabeth. Serena grasped the picture, her fingers shaking delicately. This was not at all what she'd been expecting when she'd opened the door. And that certainly sounded like something her Grandmother might say... Though she wasn't sure.
The confused blonde closed her eyes for a few beats, taking in a few breaths before re-opening them and forcing a smile onto her lips, leveling her gaze with the younger girl. "Look, I'm not saying I believe you, but why don't you come in. We'll talk some more, Alice." She offered evenly, stepping aside and gesturing to her apartment.

OK, wow, the picture definitely got a reaction, so this must be the right person. They looked so alike, her and Aunt Elizabeth, and whoever she was, she recognised the photo. That could only mean one thing right? This was her sister.
"Thanks and yeah I can understand why you don't believe me, I still only half believe it myself." Hauling her case in and looking around, it was a pretty nice apartment, big and with lots of room. What the hell did she do to have such a nice place? "Is there anywhere I can put this out of the way? Don't want to be a nuisance."
It was kind of weird now that she was here. She hadn't really thought this far ahead and now, well now she didn't know what to say. It was awkward just walking into someones house and just announcing they were your long lost sister, nice to meet you. Oh and you know that grandmother who you told to get lost over the whole marriage thing. Apparently she's a little bitter. But nothing came out, Alice just stood there not really knowing what to do.
"I guess you have questions but first can I ask you something? What's you name? She never told me it, she just ranted about you in an off hand manner."
