The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I know of him. He is the original form and had several clones including Jupiter... But Jupiter is only one I met. I hope to find him soon..." She said, not mentioning their love child quite yet. She canted her head as the big red guy who reminded her of the one she had wanted to grow old with. Why was he so shy? She knew why she was awkward, but he seemed to act like he thought he was pretty gross looking or something. Xavia had literally almost married a man who looked quite similar, she really didn’t care how Leon looked.
She wasn't worried about his poison, either. "You can stay, I just came for my watch is all. You do look similar to my... Friend, Jupiter. I miss him dearly." The way she talked, the way she said Jupiter's name, eluded to said relationship.

"Abyss is my father. He adopted me. Jupiter is one of my uncles." She smiled, although the smile was a sad one. "I didn't get to know Jupiter very well. I didn't get to know most of the brothers as well as I would have liked to." And now she might never again have that chance. Sometimes life could be very unfair. "Was he someone important to you?" She wasn't the best at reading people or understanding the things they were feeling, but the way the other woman spoke made it fairly obvious that there was something there that went beyond simple friendship.
"You don't need to leave," Amber agreed with Xavia. She didn't know exactly why he seemed to be uncomfortable in their presence but she was no stranger to feeling out of your element when among other people. Sometimes, it was even difficult to be among other mutants especially when one looked different than them. Especially when one's powers were potentially dangerous. Covered from head to tow as she was, it wasn't obvious that she was basically was a walking corpse, but it wasn't exactly the type of thing that tended to make others comfortable in her presence.

Leon was thoroughly confused at this point, clones were a thing now? He guessed that shouldn't come as a surprise. He had seen a giant dragon here so clones wouldn't be much stranger. The two women seemed to have gotten into a conversation about this 'Jupiter' character, to where he felt he could likely slip away. He decided to take the opportunity, and slowly moved to get to his feet, not wanting to draw attention by a quick retreat.
"You don't need to leave," said the dinosaur women, and Leon froze, dropping back into his seat, a bit disappointed that his attempt had failed. "I... I'm not safe to be around," he said, not sure what he had to say to convince them of the truth of the matter. He had told her that before right? Had she understood him when she was a dinosaur? Either way he still felt as if he had no right to be there. The only thing he seemed to be serving was a reminder of someone else they liked. It wasn't like they liked him, they were just trying to be nice, like everyone here seemed to be, though he felt it was mostly out of pity.
Sighing at the way the lion person seemed to keep downing himself, she laid into him. "Stop. Seriously. You are not some scary monster. You aren't..." and then she blurted the next part out without meaning to... "If a man like you, meaning t'e one I held close to my heart for a long time and had a baby wit', who looks pretty close to what YOU look like, can find acceptance... Knowing he is dangerous, and t'at his lover can be dangerous too... Literally, I can kill someone if I was inclined to do so... T'en you can do t'e same." She dropped the watch in her pocket and produced deadly nightshade within a moment, "Just two of t'ese berries can kill someone... I almost kill before wit' t'is. But it is all about learning to control what you can do wit' your body." She shook her hand and the plant withered away.
"I see much worse in last decade, I hardly doubt you will ever frighten me t'e way t'at a scientist does, injecting crap into my veins." And she jerked her hand to part the bushes, stepping through, but pausing to say, "Believe it or not, we are all scared of what we can do and we all do stupid t'ings... But one t'ing we all learn to do, and you will, is to learn how to accept what we are. Stop wit' t'e 'I am a monster' mentality. You aren't." With that, she was on the other side of the bushes and they both would hear her start to sing in that pretty voice, the song that he had been singing... Because he got it stuck in her head.

She didn't fully understand the red mutant's preoccupation with being dangerous. They were mutants, being dangerous was almost implied by that very fact. "I can be dangerous too. You don't think I can just change into tiny dinosaurs, do you? I could tear people to pieces of I wanted to." And had. And very likely would again. Aside from the (probably only 1) human she had eaten while not in control of herself, she felt no guilt about it. Raising her eyes, she tried to meet his eyes with the black void that was her own. Pity was not an emotion she had much experience with.
Xavia, it seemed, has much the same thought as she, although she didn't fully understand her references to babies and hearts. She demonstrated a more dangerous aspect of her own power and Amber nodded in agreement that learning to control one's powers was a necessary step. They were mutants. Mutants were dangerous.
"Or frighten me as much as the poachers who put me in a cage and forced me to fight," she joined in with a story of her own. The trauma had been enough to cause her to lose herself in the mind of a dinosuar for almost a year.

The flower girls words may as well have fallen on death ears. Comforting words did nothing to relieve Leon's trauma induced paranoia. Leon had poisoned those close to him upon becoming a mutant, and the screams were etched in his psyche. Leon wasn't looking for acceptance, what he looked like was nothing compared to the danger he presented to others. His powers were not about control, they were always on, the poisons spines were always there. He could no more control them anymore then she could stop breathing. Maybe that was inaccurate, he didn't know how her mutation affected that. "I don't get a choice about it," he said, a bit sour at the fact that she seemed to be comparing his quills, quills that would pierce indiscriminately, grew unwanted, and broke off to litter the ground with deadly nails, to poison berries. Unless someone ate them, she was in no danger of accidentally poisoning someone just by nature of occupying the same general area as her.
Compared to the fact that he loathed his very existence, and was in fear every moment of the day he was not locked up in his room, external fears just seemed to pale in comparison. The two's attempt to empathize with him fell short by a large margin.
She said over the bushes, "You are pissing me off. First you get a song stuck in my head and now you are making me want to yell at you." She parted the bushes enough to glare through at him. "Seriously, suck it up. T'e only person you have to worry about is yourself. Look around you, we all felt like you at one point in our lives. I have seen plenty of deat' in my life just for me being who I was. Trust me when I tell you t'ings happen t'at nobody can control, and people get hurt for it... I never directly kill anyone, but I have hurt many people... Do you honestly t'ink it is a choice of mine to use my powers for bad? Hell no. Sometimes it is beyond choices."
And then she shut the window she had made in the plants.

The red cat-like mutant was seriously starting to annoy her with his more-dangerous-than-though self deprivation. Did he seriously think he was the only dangerous mutant to have ever accidentally hurt or even killed someone. She set her black eyes upon him, mustering every bit of intimidation she knew she possessed.
"Do you really think you're the only one to have accidentally hurt someone because you're a mutant? Newsflash: You're not. So what if you don't have a choice about how your power works, you learn how to be careful and protect the people around you and you stop moping." The anger in her words surprised even herself. What made him so special anyway? She'd killed before herself, accidentally and only because she was a mutant. She had dealt with it, moved on and continued to live her life.
The other woman seemed to share much the same views as she. She didn't ask about who or how she'd hurt someone important to her, but she did not her agreement. It seemed to be a common experience among mutants.

Leon didn't say anything. He wasn't saying he was special or better then anyone. Far from it, he view himself as a monster, and things like this merely reinforced that belief. He wasn't socially apt enough to make any type of convincing argument on his own behalf. He wasn't confident enough in himself to believe he could be any better. All he knew is that he hurt people and was completely unlikable as a person, with no redeeming qualities that made him worthy of anything. Both women had friends, family, confidence, and the obvious passion to where they could look down at him, and rightly so. Probably best that way anyway, he knew he wasn't meant to be around people to begin with, even in a school of mutants he didn't really belong. All he was was a nuisance, a waste of space.
He squeezed his tail, feeling the sharp tips of the spines against his skin, averting his eyes to the ground as the two women told him how he should feel, how pathetic he was, how he should be better. When they were finished he got up and began walking away. It had been a mistake to come out here. He should have just stayed in his room where he belonged, away from people. All he was was poison.
She wasn't even looking down at the poor guy, nor did she think he was pathetic at all... But he did not voice these things, and because of this, she was already walking back to the nearby greenhouse. Miscommunication at it's finest, yo.
Unless someone came and got her and stopped her, she was gone.

Seeing the dejected look on the man's face, Amber felt a sharp pang of guilt shoot through her. She hadn't meant to make him feel worse about himself, quite the opposite. By showing him that others struggled as well, she hoped to open her eyes that he wasn't as bad as he thought. Mutants like them, they were in this together and should show solitary and support to one another. Of course, she had royally botched that one, now hadn't she? Why was she so bad at people skills and basic human interaction? Or right, probably because she had spent half her adult live living as a dinosaur in the woods. One skill dinosaurs definitely did not need was diplomacy. It was her turn to feel some degree of self-loathing.
"Hey, I'm sorry I got mad at you," she glanced towards the other woman who was now departing but did not follow. "I just didn't want you to think so badly of yourself. I'm really not good at the whole people thing." She spoke with her eyes averted, hoping the apology got through.

Leon stopped momentarily as the dinosaur women shouted after him. "No.... no, you're right...." he said, not able to meet her in the eyes. "I... don't have any right to complain, I... shouldn't even be here." he knew that something like himself had no right to live in a mansion surrounded by people. There were other, better, more deserving people who should have that kind of luxury. What was he? Just some poisonous nobody, someone who only caused others misery. Just some monster who would only cause himself and other pain, wither physical or emotional. Who was he kidding, he didn't belong anywhere, he was just some parasite leeching off the school because he was too much of a chicken to face the streets, or to just do the world a favor and die. He was just in the way, ruining whatever pleasantries the women had been enjoying.

At a loss, she turned to make her own departure. It was time she seek she indoors and the safety it offered from the sun, anyway. "Well, if you change your mind or if you ever need someone to talk to, I rarely leave the Mansion during the daylight hours." For now, it didn't seem like there was anything she could do to help, but if he ever wanted help, it felt right to offer it. Words said, she continued on her way.
