Character
Personality: Ambrosia is something of a free spirit and a hippy, wanting nothing more than to be happy and to bring happiness to others. Very few things bring her down or cause her stress for very long. Life is for living, enjoying and bring joy to others. Equal parts introverted and extroverted, she enjoys the company of others just as much as she enjoys her own solitude. She sees wonder in the many small miracles of life that many would instead simply ignore or take for granted. Nothing should be taken for granted because those things can be taken away at any time.
Ambrosia believes both in the power of the natural world and in magic and other superstition. Far more at home in the woods or in a park, sometimes the sheer number of people and pollution of the city can be overwhelming. A self defined druid and witch, she sees everything as connection and every action having ripples that extend out far further than might originally be anticipated. There is a balance to be struck between man and nature and, sadly, sometimes man tips and disrupts that balance.
Tolerance and acceptance or two traits that make up the foundation of her morality. Between her lesbian parents and her being a mutant, the battle for acceptance is one worth fighting and winning. While violence is never the answer, to allow bigots and racists to go unpunished is simply unacceptable. Sometimes you have to fight to create the world you want to live in instead of bowing down and accepting things the way they are.

Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Chaotic good - At heart, Ambrosia is a people pleaser and when others are happy she, in turn, is also happy.
Mutations
Mutation description: Faerie Dragon Shifter - Ambrosia can change her shape into that of a faerie dragon. Weighing 25 lbs and just a little larger than a large house cat, her secondary form is covered in bright blue and purple scales. She has a long tail that equals the length of her body and a pair of wings that allow flight. Her body is about 18 inches long and her tail is roughly the equivalent. Her wingspan is about 40 inches across.
Ambrosia can also breathe faerie fire while in both forms. Her faerie fire has the physical appearance of fire except its colored purple and green and does not actually burn. When it hits a target, it lights the target up in what appears to be purple and green flames, letting off as much light as a natural fire. Additionally, if the target is living it also disorients the target.
Strengths: Wings allow for flight and increased agility in the air. She can hover or fly in any direction from a hover, much like a hummingbird.
Her scales protect her from most minor physical damage.
Her senses are enhanced beyond human capability while shifted, roughly the equivalent of a cat's for sight, sound and smell. In human form, she benefits from a lesser version of enhanced senses.
She can remain in shifted form indefinitely.
While shifted, she has a mouth full of sharp teeth and sharp little talons at the end of each of her feet.
When struck with faerie fire, the target cannot hide or otherwise become invisible. Disorientation effects balance. The target would be unable to tell up from down, left from right. Their balance would be effected and they would feel as if the world was spinning or otherwise moving erratically. Throwing up due to motion sickness is possible.
Weaknesses and Limitations: Faerie dragons are small. Thus, her strength is much less than that of a human, only slightly greater than that of a house cat. Related, while her talons and teeth are razor sharp, because of her small size there is only so much damage she can do with them.
Her sense of sight, smell and hearing are roughly the equivalent to a cat's while in faerie dragon form. In human form they are slightly increased, roughly twice natural human capability.
In both human and dragon form, she has a strong allergy to iron. Iron touching to her skin will burn and blister.
Tiny dragon scales are only sufficient to protect against low level physical damage. Use of guns or high impact weapons will do just as much damage as if there were no scales there at all.
It takes approximately 30 seconds to shift from one form to another, during which time she is vulnerable.
Clothing does not shift along with her body.
Faerie fire extends out approximately 36 inches from Ambrosia's mouth. While faerie fire looks very much like fire, it does not actually burn and does not actually cause any physical damage. It can be put out with water or by taking away its oxygen just like regular fire. Faerie fire only affects the things it directly comes in contact with. Unlike regular fire, it doesn't spread. That is to say, if it hits a person it will stick to that person. If that person touches their burning arm to a piece of fabric, the fire will not spread to that piece of fabric. If the fire partially strikes a person and partially strikes that person's jacket, both will burn separately but if either one comes into contact with something else otherwise flammable, the fire won't spread to that other thing.
The potency of disorientation depends upon how much fire is burning on a target. Taking a full breath of fire results in being able to do little more than curl up in a ball and throw up as the world spins around and goes topsy turvey. Taking half a breath has the effect of someone being strongly intoxicated and being unable to walk in straight line and difficulties remaining upright. A few licks of flame would result only in a slight loss of equilibrium.
The effect lasts for as long as the fire keeps burning. Once the fire has been put out, the effects dissipate.
Only naturally flammable things can be effected.
Physical Abilities
General Physical Capabilities: Its possible to punch things but that's not necessarily very effected. Fighting Style: Run away? Fighting Style Pros/Cons: If she can shift, she can fly and that's pretty effective as far as run away techniques go.
History Of Your Character Ambrosia doesn’t remember either of her parents. She never knew her father at all and her mother gave her up for adoption only months after she was born. Her mother couldn't afford to take care of her and, in the end, her only choice was to place her daughter into the system. Fortunately, as a healthy and pretty baby it didn't take long her her to be adopted. She was adopted to a gay couple, Mayflower and Ariel Greydon, and her childhood was largely full and happy. While not quite wealthy, her little family was firmly middle class and growing up in liberal California, she rarely experienced overt homophobia directed at her lesbian parents.
A somewhat mediocre student, Ambrosia always had friends at school and rarely got into trouble. Her creative mind was one of the things her parents nurtured and encouraged. Both her parents identified as Druids and she eagerly followed in their footsteps. Learning to read both runes and tarot from a young age, she was taught to be in tune with the energies of the natural world and to nurture life around her. She was surrounded with plants and taught the value of growing her own food and that if you were to treat the earth well, it would treat you well in return.
Ambrosia was 14 when the first signs of being a mutant began to appear. Her ears began to grow and, not long thereafter, her eyes changed to mimic those of a cat's. For months, nothing more unusual than that was to occur. Her parents told her these things happened because she was special and that she should embrace whatever changes might come because the earth spirits had chosen her for something greater. When iron began to burn and blister her skin, they gave her salves and when some of the other students began to make fun of her and give her a hard time, they offered gentle shoulders to cry on.
Her first true change happened nearly a year later. Ambrosia had always wanted to fly and she found herself lying on the ground staring up at the clouds imagining what it might be like. Then, suddenly, she wasn't on the ground anymore, she was in the air looking down at the pile of clothes she had only moments before been wearing. Somehow, flight was hers. Years of struggle followed as she began to learn to control her power, all the while supported by her parents. Without them, she wasn't sure she would have been able to get through such times.
It was a couple years after graduation that Ambrosia made the choice to move to New York. Amidst tears and many promises to call often, she explained that she had to learn to make her own way in the world and she had to meet other mutants like herself. So she made her way, alone for the first time, and began to form new life for herself. Since then, she's been working at a small Pagan store and been involved in numerous mutant rights protests.

Sample RP: It was almost closing and Ambrosia was alone in the little shop she had been working at for the past year. The Silver Chalice was an out of the way place run by a woman, Jessie, who had become almost like an aunt to her. In the absence of her parents, Jessie had taken her in and accepted her for who she was, mutant at all. During the many long, slow shifts, she'd learned that Jessie had a niece who was a mutant so she felt it was her obligation to do what she could to help mutants. Ambrosia appreciated it. Not everyone was nearly so accepting.
A jingling of the bell at the front door alerted her to the presence of someone who had just entered the store. She walked back to the front to greet whoever had entered. "How can I help you?"
A young man stood, looking slightly uneasy. "I, um, I heard you might be someone I could talk to about a food bank that was willing to help mutants?" No wonder he looked nervous. One couldn't always expect a kind response when asking about mutants and, although at first glance he looked human, that didn't necessarily mean much.
"No need to be nervous," Ambrosia offered with a kind smile. "Give me a moment, I've got a print out for you with some resources." She rifled around behind the register until she found what she was looking for. That was another wonderful thing about Jessie: She encouraged Ambrosia to help her fellow mutants right from the store itself. She handed the piece of paper over to the man. "This has a list of places you can go for food and shelter. Good luck." Maybe it wasn't much, but acts like this made her feel like she was accomplishing something.
