The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Juliette shook her head at him and chuckled quietly as he danced over to the jukebox. The ice was obvious, but it certainly made his dancing smoother. It was certainly entertaining to watch, if not slightly uncomfortable. Sam certainly knew how to make the most of a horrible song.
"Yeah, you're right, it's my favourite song," she joked and crossed her arms. She had said it before just to tease him and see what he would do, but since she had to lead the dancing, she was a little lost as to what to do with the ear worm. Unable to follow the moon walk, she simply spun over to Sam, sliding slightly on the ice. She caught her balance on the jukebox and winced at her failure. "Told you I shouldn't be dancing."
"A movie sounds good. Any suggestions?" Juliette asked him and took a sip of the beer he had just set down. She didn't particularly want to keep making a fool of herself, and she didn't want to restart the pool game. A movie seemed like the best option.

Snapping his fingers he laughed, ”Knew it!” watching Juliette start to move Sam made a motion to catch her until she landed on the juke-box right next to him. ”Wasn’t too bad, seems like you just need to feel the music a bit more.” Sam said as he raised an eyebrow. ”We can always try again later…” Sam said sipping his beer after her and then resting it back on the Juke box again.
”A few, I like personally like action movies or comedies, why don’t I show you what we have and you can make an executive decision. Like a room the movie choice says a lot about someone. But before we go to pick something out…” Sam said leaning forward in for a kiss.
”Now…” Sam reached for his beer smirked then pointed towards the large television and the wall of actually shelving units.
"Maybe with a different song, though. Something that doesn't feel quite so much like a bad trip to the eighties. Or trip in the eighties, rather," she grinned, still at little flushed from her failed spin.
Juliette smiled softly and stood a little taller to kiss him. She snaked her hand around his neck for a minute, and then retreated. Standing back on the balls of her feet, she stole one more sip from his beer before putting it back.
"Alright, so what do you have?" Her eyes swept the shelving units for a title that popped out to her. "You're going to show me the good ones, right? And then I make the final pick?"

Nodding his head, ”wouldn’t dream of showing you anything less.” Sam said as he guided her over to his ‘favorites’ shelf. Most of them were older comedies like ghost busters, the blues brothers and anything with Chris Farley. He then moved a little past the classics and came upon the newer movies, some comedy some action. He looked througha few of the terminators and decided that he had enough robots for the time. If the META bots and the stalkers ruin this franchise he’d be pretty upset.
Picking up the first movie he handed it to her with a smirk. Ace Venture: When Nature calls was his all time favorite, he then followed it up with The mask (another Carrey classic) Die Hard, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and then the first in the trilogies of both Indiana Jones and Lord of the Rings. ”So… you got a few to choose from. Kinda glad to see you are unemployed at the moment some of them are a little long.” Sam said as he grabbed another sip of his beer before offering it up to Juliette.
Sam walked back to the kitchen and turned on the popcorn maker and then loaded the thing with kernels, oil and butter. He then got some salt and pepper and placed them on the island that was the divider from the kitchen to the Television viewing area. ”You want one?” he asked pointing to the beer. He grabbed another two anyways and set them on the counter waiting for her to pick. ”So what’s your favorite genre?” he asked wondering which one she’d pick.
Juliette shuffled through the small bunch of movie Sam had handed her and tried her hand at making an executive decision. She had heard of all the movies, but there were a few she'd never seen before. After a moment, she handed him a DVD from the pile. "Die Hard. I would've gone with Indianna Jones, but you can't really just watch the first one, and as much as I'm unemployed, I still would like to see the sun again at some point."
"Sure, thanks," she nodded to his offer of beer. She placed the nearly empty one he had handed her on the counter next to his fresh one, and picked up the one next to it.
"Hmm. I'm not sure. I tend to like action comedy movies, but I also don't mind the occasional horror movie. I probably would have been able to give you a more definite answer a few years ago when I actually watched movies." She hadn't truly realized just how much of her life work dominated before she quit. Most of the time, movies and other entertainment were the first thing to go when she had things to do. It was a little nice not to have to worry about being back, though she still missed working.
"What about you? I'm assuming your favourite is in this bunch?"

”That’s fair, guess we will need to plan a day of it… or a night?” Sam said with a little smirk thinking about watching the Mr. Jones trilogy. He could quote all the movies from start to finish, but now wasn’t the time. Opening his own beer he took a sip and put the empty in the recycling bin and leaned on the counter waiting for the popcorn.
”Horror huh?” Sam asked with a small over exaggerated shudder, ”You’re gonna laugh but I hate Horror movies. I jump too much watching them.” Sam said with a slight laugh. The sound of popcorn could be heard popping as he continued speaking, ”Like, I’m the guy in the theater that shrieks like a girl when something jumps out.” he gave his best high-pitched mock gasp and then leaned back on the table. ”Probably the least manly thing I do…” he said swigging his beer in the manliest way possible.
”Favorites.” Sam said looking at the bunch. ”When I was a kid I didn’t have a lot in the way of entertainment so when I had down time it was books and movies.” he said remembered being locked in a cell. The first three years of his training he didn’t get a television, it was a privilege. He eventually earned it and kept it. ”I got a few, I mean they aren’t the best movies but they got me through some thought times. Die Hard happens to be my favorite Christmas movie. Ace Venture happens to be one of my favorite goofy comedies.” the popcorn sounded like it was going strong and then Sam turned, ”Alllllllrighty then.” he said being overly animated and doing his best Ace Venture impression.
Sam went over to the popcorn machine and pulled a pull from under it and started filling the bowl of the fresh popcorn. ”You ready for the movie?” Sam said, ”Have you seen it?” he asked hoping she hadn’t.
"Sam Johnson, the guy who stopped a bunch of armed attackers from shooting up a hospital, the leader of the X-men, is afraid of a little old horror movie?" Juliette teased with a laugh. "I never would have guessed." It was an interesting thing to think about, especially after seeing him so calm in a fight. It suddenly made sense why he had only handed her comedies.
She grinned at his Ace Ventura impression, and nodded as he listed off his favourites. "Yep, I'm ready, but I haven't seen it before," she admitted. It was something she'd been meaning to do, but she hadn't ever gotten around to it before. The fact that it was her first time seeing it somehow managed to make the situation better though.
Juliette opened her beer and took it with her as she started to walk over to the television, expecting Sam to follow when he was ready.

”Well you’re in for a treat. It is a great movie.” Sam said a little overjoyed as he grabbed two more beers the popcorn and the one he was drinking and headed to the couch closest to the television where he and Juliette would no doubt sit. ”I think I need to warn you though…” Sam said as he set the popcorn and the beers down off to the side. ”It might be…” Sam put his hands on the two beers that were unopened and willed some ice to form around the bottles ”cold.” he smirked and as if on cue the room dropped a few degrees.
Lifting a blanket and then placing it on the couch Sam smirked, ”We might need to keep each other warm under the blanket.” he smirked and sat down lifting the blanket up and setting off to his armrest till Juliette put the movie in. ”Is that going to be a problem?” he asked with a sly grin.
"Uh..."[/url] Juliette stared at Sam with an expression of bewilderment. Was he seriously trying to pull that? He actually made the room physically colder just to con her into getting under a blanket. "You do know I would have sat next to you anyway, right? You didn't have to make a show of it. But, no. I don't think it'll be a problem."
She smirked a little and shook her head at him as she stuck the DVD in the drive. She shot a backwards glance at the two extra beers, but didn't say anything. It still wasn't late in the day, and that would be Sam's third beer. That she had seen, anyway. It wasn't exactly an encouraging thought.
Juliette pushed any thoughts of worst case scenarios to the back of her mind and just focused on the movie that was about to start. She took a seat on the couch and settled in under the blanket. He really had done a good job of making it colder in the room. She shivered slightly and rubbed her arms, trying to make the goosebumps disappear.

”I don’t know what you mean…” Sam said trying his best to shift his eye so he wouldn’t make eye-contact. It was followed with a smirk when she sat down next to him. Throwing the blanket over her and putting his arm around her Sam took his free hand and hit two buttons. The first one turned off all of the lights in the room, including the Juke Box lights the second button turned the television on and then the movie started to play.
”Keep in mind this movie was made in the late 80’s and I didn’t have a lot to choose from when I was a kid. This was like the Holy Grail. Nothing like the Monty Python one mind you but still. This is like an awesome classic.” Sam then decided to shut up and try to hide his large smile. It was as if he was a kid again seeing it for the first time.
Grabbing the popcorn and setting the bowl between the two Sam leaned over and gave Juliette a little peck on the cheek before shifting his gaze back to the movie as the opening credits started.
"I thought you didn't feel the cold?" Juliette pointed out as she settled in beside Sam. She had to admit, though, the blanket was nice, and the company wasn't bad either.
Sam pressed two buttons, one of which turned on the television, while the other turned off all the lights in the room, including the jukebox. Juliette shifted uncomfortably, looking around the suddenly darkened room. The light from the screen gave off some light, but not very much. "Do... You think you could turn one of the lights back on?" She asked softly, trying not to make a big deal of something so small.
"So no Knights saying Ni? Darn," Juliette joked, doing her best to think of something other than the darkness. She admired Sam's excited smile which he tried to hide, which took her mind off of things.
The opening credits started and Sam leaned down and pecked her on the cheek. She smiled softly and watched the movie as it began.
The movie moved forwards, and she watched closely. As the final credits rolled, she yawned and didn't move, not really wanting to leave the warm spot on the couch. The room was so much colder.

Upon request he turned another light on right above him after looking in the dark to figure out what light was which. For having so many buttons the remote was actually way more inconvenient than he liked.
Every now and then the icemancer shifted his gaze slightly to see her reaction, however due to his one eye he was turning his head a lot more than he wanted, that didn’t stop him however. When he was focused on the movie again he moved his lips to all of the one-liners and all the dialogue scenes. He knew the movie well, obviously.
Sam shifted his gaze to his two unopened beers and half of his finished one, this was the first time in some time he didn’t drink half a six pack through a movie. Looking back to Juliette and giving her a little shoulder shake he smirked, ”Now I guess I have to turn the AC of huh?” as if on cue his powers shut off and the room started to get warmer. ”So…. Honest opinion?” Sam asked knowing that she loved it, because who could hate it? Honestly, who?
It had been much easier to enjoy the movie once Sam turned the lights on. She stopped feeling so anxious, and she didn't feel the need to keep glancing around, looking in the dark corners of the room. Instead, she was able to just focus on the movie, and the fact that Sam was mouthing the one-liners.
>>”Now I guess I have to turn the AC of huh?”
"Probably," she nodded with a sigh. The room grew warmer almost instantly, but it didn't change the temperature of the spot on the couch, so she made no motion to get up. She just continued to rest her head on Sam's shoulder, but turned her face so that she could talk more easily with him.
>>”So…. Honest opinion?”
She grinned at him, "it was great. I can't believe I'd never seen it before. And Alan Rickman was great, of course. What about you? Was it as good as the first time?"

”Better.” Sam said as he leaned his back a little so he could get all of Juliette’s face in his vision instead of most of it. He could feel her with thermal but that wasn’t really the same. ”Awesome company. Kinda wish I could go back in time and tell twelve year old me that we still watch the same movies but it’s way better due to person sitting next to me.” Sam smirked, ”We’d high five…” he said thinking about it.
”Also yes, Rickman is theman.” Sam said trying to keep a straight face out of respect for the actor. ”Would you believe they made more of these. Most of which are just as much gold… though not super accurate but still a great movie.” Sam said as he thought about some of the missions he tried after seeing this as a kid. Either movies didn’t follow the laws of physics or he was doing something wrong whenever he fell through an air duct.
”Thank you, not everyday I get to give someone an eye opening experience about how great this movie is.” Sam said with a smirk leaning for another kiss. After he thought about asking it then ended up blurting out… ”Have you seen ‘Are You Afraid of the Dark?” Sam tried to keep a straight face but couldn’t help but smile.
"Maybe you'll have to show me the others another time," she suggested, feeling her eyes start to droop. That was the thing about watching a movie during the daytime; it always felt later than it actually was.
>>Have you seen ‘Are You Afraid of the Dark?”
Juliette slowly closed her eyes and rolled her lips in. It looked like Sam had been about to kiss her before he blurted out that comment. "No, I haven't," she answered, knowing full well that he was somehow going to turn it into a comment about how she had asked him to turn the lights back on.
She sat up on the couch slightly and turned back to Sam. "I should probably get back to unpacking, though. And then talk to the Doc. I'd rather not go too much longer without any sure form of employment."
