The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sam didn’t know if that was the reason or not his mutation decided to evolve the way it did but he didn’t have the ability before his eye was removed just after and while she what she said was true he still didn’t want to go back yet to having two eyes. It just didn’t feel right.
Sam smirked, ”I think I’m going to pretend you didn’t see that. I don’t get it.” Sam said really not understanding anyone would like that kind of music. Maybe it was like the boy band fad Sam read about when he was with T.A.T. One of the things he was glad he was never able to experience. ”The closest I come to that is one T-Swift song… and I like the cover of it better.” he said trying to justify it. He however neglected to tell her about his love for some choice show tunes.
Sam set the beer down on a nearby shelf and walked over to the pol table eyeing a few of the shots he could make when she was done. The juke box changed songs after another minute and this time some old school Sinatra came on. This was far better than Bieber. ”I still don’t understand the shuffle on this juke box.” Sam said with a smirk. ”Any requests?” Sam asked curiously. Still able to ‘feel’ her when he wasn’t looking at her.
"Is that the one you were singing in the hallway before?" She asked with a smirk. She didn't know a ton of Taylor Swift music, but it hadn't been too difficult to recognize what he was singing before.
"Sinatra's just fine," Juliette told him and hummed along quietly to Fly Me to the Moon. Sinatra was far, far better than anything Beiber could 'produce' as far as she was concerned. "I don't mind if you want to put something else on. I feel like I can probably trust your judgement at this point. More than the shuffle feature, anyway."
She lined up her next shot and sent the white ball flying across the felt table. A striped ball ricocheted off the side and sent a solid ball in in its place. "There we go," Juliette grinned. She hadn't lost her skill completely. Her second shot made another solid ball teeter on the edge of the pocket, but it didn't fall in.

There were seven of them. So of course they called themselves the ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ that was almost as cliché as the zodiac team that managed to cause some trouble a while back. Still they were hardly any comparison. One, they announced their presence calling him out at a picnic. Date ruined by the way or at least if it was up to anyone’s decision other than his. However he needed a little work out.
” So you heard?” Sam said with a smirk trying not to be too embarrassed. ”So you admit I have some skill… I’m gonna kill it on Karaoke night.” Sam then added, ”Maybe we can stop by my room when we are done and I can show introduce you to the cover.” Sam shrugged as if he was trying to be too innocent.
”I’m curious on what’s on here. Been a few years since I.. we made the play list.” Sam said correcting himself considering he did tell Juliette it wasn’t just him who made the playlist.
Sam raised an eyebrow when she shot again. Still not sure that she was acting like she was rusty Sam nodded his head and went to the table. He leaned over and look for his next shot and decided at the moment he didn’t have a good one. Standing back up he frowned and put the cue behind his back and he tried to shoot. The cue ball hit, narrowly missing Juliette’s ball that was on the edge and bounced off the side of the table and hit one of his causing it to go into a pocket. ”Totally meant for that to happen.” Sam said laughing at his luck.
Looking back to Juliette he leaned over and smirked as he shot. The cue ball hit the stripe that was blocking the pocket before. Sam was about to jump up and celebrate until the cue ball went into the pocket as well. Sam sighed and went over to the hole where the cue was and took out the ball he just shot and the cue ball. Setting his striped one on the table he walked the cue ball over to Juliette and offered it up to her with a smile as the next song started and shuffle changed it to ‘Unforgettable’ by Nat King Cole.
Sam smirked when the song started playing and he set the cue and ball down on the table then offered up his hand to dance with him to the song.
"Hey, I never said anything about skill," Juliette smirked at Sam. "Sure, I'd be glad to hear it. Who's it by?" She asked, fully aware of the whole 'innocent' routine. "When's karaoke night?"
"You and... Streak?" She asked, trying to remember the name he said when they had first walked in. She supposed that was who the second desk belonged to. "I don't think I've met him."
She watched with her eyebrows raised as Sam's ball bounced and hit one of his in. "Lucky shot, more like," she corrected and shook her head with a chuckle. "There's no way you can dupe me into believing you intended that, Mr. Cyclops."
Sam had moved over to the jukebox and changed the song. She smiled as a familiar song came over the speakers and flooded the room. "Good choice," she commented.
Juliette looked from Sam to his outstretched hand. She slowly set down her cue and tentatively put her hand in his, unsure of what to expect. "Is this your way of putting me off my game?"

”Maybe…” Sam said as he spun her towards him and then placed one hand on her hip and kept one in her hand. He waited a moment to start answering all the other questions. He started to shuffle his feet slowly as he started to dance more with her. ”Name of the band is ‘I Prevail’ and whenever you want to sing in front of me.” Sam said with a smirk as he kept moving to the sound.
”Streak has been gone for a while now doing his own thing but…” Sam changed this subject back to them. ”Well, honestly I’m starting to think you are better than me and this song is too great and you are too beautiful to not dance with.” Sam said as he dipped her slightly then lifted her back up pulling her a little closer. ”So no… this is no way of me trying to throw you off your game.” Sam said with a little laugh.
Juliette made a quite noise of surprise as she was spun towards Sam. He moved her easily into a classic dancing position and put his hand on her hip. She put her free hand on his shoulder and followed his movements along to the beat. Dancing wasn't something she did often, but she had to admit, she quite liked it.
She found it difficult not to blush at his comment. "You only say that because I haven't made your ears bleed during karaoke yet," she joked, trying to push the comment off a little.
The surprised noise made a return as she was dipped suddenly and then brought back up. Sam seemed so sincere, and she didn't entirely know how to respond, so she simply smiled and continued to move along with him to the song.

”You can’t be any worse than me.” Sam said with a smirk, he wasn’t terrible but he never thought he was good at singing. ”Sides, I think I might get distracted anyways.” he laughed when the next surprised noise sounded. ”You alright?” Sam asked with an eyebrow raised as he looked at her.
He took a little step back but continued to dance with her slowly to the song. ”If you don’t like dancing we can go back to pool… or my room? Or the couch….” Sam said with a smirk. ”Though, I’m fine just dancing. I do like this song.” Sam said as he started to hum the words knowing he could never compete with the one who was singing it.
"I'm fine," she told him quickly with a smile. "Just... Caught off guard. I don't do a lot of dancing." Or any, rather. It seemed Sam knew what he was doing, though, so she didn't have to worry much about the movements. She simply followed his lead.
"No, no, this is good. Let's finish the song." It was clear that it was almost over anyways, and they had a steady routine going. "We can do something else after that."
She fell silent and leaned her head in slightly as the moved, finding the song and the movements incredibly calming. She almost wanted to just freeze time in that moment. It was so peaceful.

Sam’s smiled instead of smirked, ”No worries… I’m pretty good at it. Had a lot of lessons when I was a kid.” Sam said wishing they were just dance lessons. In T.A.T. they trained you to know a lot of things. Dancing was just something to keep you blended in, though when Sam last have done it was more showy. He did enjoy dancing. The dance they were currently in was simple but satisfying. Needless to say it was more the company than the dance.
Sam pulled her in a little closer when she leaned her head into his chest, ”We can finish the song and keep going if you’d like.” Sam offered not sure if the shuffle would be kind to them. This was okay to dance to but he imagined it would be a little more difficult to dance like this to something more upbeat like AC/DC or Zepplin.
”I have no plans, and could do this for hours with you.” Sam said stepping away from the pool table. ”And we can always come back to pool. Not like anyone was winning anyways.” Sam said with a slight cough and a eye shift.
She grinned to herself as she imagined a young Sam learning how to dance. It was a an interesting thought. She realized suddenly that she didn't really know much about where he came from or where he grew up. Something to bring up later. She didn't want to ruin the moment, and childhood often came with baggage.
Juliette laughed quietly as he commented on the score of the game. She'd actually lost track of the score, and didn't really want to bother to look up at the table, so she just played along. "Definitely. There's obviously no one pulling ahead. We shouldn't put it off too long, though. We wouldn't want to forget about the bet."
The song finished slowly and she looked up at Sam, holding her breath as she waited for the next one to start.

”No, though I got no problem letting you win though…” Sam said with a smirk. If she was going to win, he was starting to want to cook for her anyways so it wouldn’t have bad to just concede this time. ”You can win this time… maybe I’ll decide I want to win next time.” Sam mused allowed as he thought about it.
Now was the time for the next cued song hoping it was something along the pace of what it was now however it seems that Sam wasn’t too lucky today, pool game included. As soon as the song started to play he rolled his eye. “Where no strangers to love, you know the rules and so do I” Sam tried to keep a straight face as he continued to dance with Juliette.
”Mirror….” Sam muttered as he tried to keep pace with how he was dancing from before. ”I’ll change the song…” Sam said not moving away from her but continuing to hold her.
"Well it's not really a win if you forfeit," Juliette smirked at him, "but I'll take it." The whole home cooked meal deal was far too appealing to pass up. "You can't just decide to win next time, though. You'll have to work for it."
Juliette couldn't help but laugh as the track changed to an even more familiar song. The beat was drastically different, Sam was attempting to keep his old pace. She grinned at him, quiet enjoying the situation.
"What, you don't want to slow dance to Rick Astley?" It didn't really surprise her that it wasn't Sam's choice of song, but it was still funny. Especially as the two of them still attempted to keep the same rhythm. "Don't worry about changing it. We just might have to change our dancing style."

”Yeah, but I’m pretty good at winning.” Sam said lying more to himself than anyone else. Sam did hate this song, mainly because it was the type of song that would take months to get out of your head once it was in there and in Sam’s mind there were too many unwelcomed things that wouldn’t leave. ”Guess we could.” Sam grinned happy to see that Juliette was enjoying the song change. He’d bring it up later and tease her then, but right now he didn’t want to ruin anything. They were having fun.
”Maybe,” Sam said letting go of Juliette’s waist then raised his hand over her head trying to spin her around. ”I don’t really know how anyone can dance to this song except the “Carlton” so you’ll have to take lead on this one.” Sam said with a smirk, he knew a few different dances but the ‘Rick Rolled’ wasn’t one of them.
Juliette spun when Sam lifted her hand above her head, but then stopped and bit her lip, racking her brain for any kind of dance moves that would go along with the obnoxious beat of the song.
"Well... On second thought, you may want to just switch songs," she grinned at him. "You don't want me to lead any dance moves." She knew even less than he did, and she didn't exactly want to do 'the Carlton'. It was a difficult song to dance to with just two people.
She glanced at the pool table briefly. "Or we could always finish the game."

”I don’t know… I kind of feel like you should do the leading of this song.” Sam smirked and started to do the slowed down version of the Carlton to get her a little more motivated to show off some of her dance moves. ”I mean you seem to really like the song. Not sure I could change it on you.” Sam said with a laugh as he looked back to the pool table.
”Well if we go back we’d have to start over, see I lost already and then we’d need to set up a new bet and who knows I might be interested in raising the stakes.” Sam said with a smirk as he did a moonwalk towards the juke box. The ice that formed under his feet to help him slide better could also be seen but he wasn’t trying to hide them.
Sam did a little spin move grabbed his beer then leaned up on the juke box like the ‘Fonz’ ”Now what’s it gonna be, pool, movie or busta move?” Sam smirked then took a sip of the beer and then set it down on the juke-box. Sam still had half a mind to change the song however he wouldn’t unless Juliette really wanted to change it.
