The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

”Fun is good, might not be what is needed all the time though…” Sam said pointing to himself, ”I used to be fun all the time.” he nodded sagely as he pushed himself off the wall and walked towards the Juliette and the door and gave her a slight comforting hand on the shoulder. Sam offered her a smile then gestured to the door. ”Come’ on we can talk about our parents later. Let’s focus on our kids now.” he waved her to the door still a little worried about taking her to his possibly dirty room.
Stopping at the door Sam turned slightly and said, ”I’m gonna pretend I just said my kid. You can remember what you want.” he said with a slight smirk still pretending that it didn’t happen. Trying to change the subject Sam went into proud pet owner mode and looked back to Juliette as he stepped out into the hallway and headed across the hall to his corner room. ”So just a heads up Bruno is kind of stuck in lapdog mode but he is far from it. If he gets to be too much let me know. He needs to be reminded he isn’t a puppy.”
Opening the door Sam lingered as well with the door shut praying for a clean room. ”Come’ on ghost…” mutter Sam as he opened the door finally with his eye shut. When he opened it he was glad to see Ghost did indeed come by and clean up his room for him. Mentally he made a note to send Ghost and Rowan somewhere nice for Christmas.
His room was clean with no clothes on the floor and his bed made, Sam was the one who must have done that at some point because he didn’t recall Ghost ever doing it. Cammie his large tabby cat laid on the bed in silence while his large Saint Bernard Bruno was already trying to get past Sam to greet the newcomer. Sam looked from his large bed to his dresser and television to his fridge and desk in the corner and then to his bathroom. No clothes or bottles anywhere. ”So… yeah…” Sam said side stepping Bruno and walking into his room. ”Mi casa…”
Juliette opened her mouth to argue the 'our kids' comment, but decided not to. There was no use arguing with him. Sam knew exactly what he was saying and what kind of reaction he would get. She still felt differently, but didn't press the topic.
Bruno really was far from a puppy. The huge Saint Bernard attempted to push his way past Sam to greet the stranger behind him, but couldn't get past until Sam allowed. It seemed as though he was experienced at keeping the dog at bay. Juliette crouched to greet the dog as he ran forward and nearly pummelled her. He kicked her face eagerly and continued to paw and push forward at her, even though she was already scratching his neck.
"He's certainly friendly," Juliette laughed as she attempted to keep his down. She stood up so she was no longer at eye level with him, put kept her hand on his back as she walked into the room.
The room was far from messy. In fact, everything was in good order, and even looked like he'd taken some time with it. It was far better outfitted than hers was, but he had been there for much longer. "So what in here did you not want me to see?" She questioned as she scratched Cammie under the jaw and looked around the room.

Bruno was being well behaved at the moment. Normally his go too was to try and put his paws on someone’s shoulder till he was nose to nose. Sam patted Bruno on the rear as he walked past with Juliette. Sam was thankful Ghost had come by. Normally before he started drinking more his room was usually like this. ”Normally not this clean. Must have forgotten that I cleaned it.” Sam said lying a little. ”I usually fall asleep in my office so when I do come to my room I’m usually half asleep.” or half drunk.
The roar of Cammie’s purrs continued while Juliette scratched her. Both Bruno and her seemed to like the woman, which was good. Normally Cammie was indifferent. ”They both seem to like you. That’s good. Just hope the other kid likes you as well.” Sam teased. ”So… mimosa?” Sam asked nodding his head to his fridge.
She nodded at the cleanliness comment. He didn't exactly seem like the type to have a pristine living area. Not that that was an issue, but it definitely surprised her to walk into a clean room. "So does that make you a workaholic, then, or just an insomniac?" She wondered what his office was like, but figured she would likely see it at some point if she was going to be working with him. Or just to get him to cool down her dog sculpture.
She continued to scratch Cammie and looked at Sam with a slightly exasperated look. She was still getting used to the idea of Alex, and his constant joking about the subject didn't really help.
Juliette glanced at her watch. It wasn't very late in the day, and far earlier than she usually started drinking. However, usually she had a shift to worry about, and the only plans she had for the day were unpacking and now hanging out with Sam. "It's kind of early, don't you think?" She said after a minute. She didn't particularly feel like drinking, despite her lack of responsibilities. "I'll pass for now."

”Yes.” Sam said with a smirk, ”if it isn’t training, it’s patrol and if it isn’t patrol it is paperwork.” Sam said thinking about it. The few times he and Juliette have hung out it was because he had difficulty sleeping longer than a few hours before the nightmares started.
Holding up his arms and shrugging Sam smirked, ”Being a good host is all. I think I have some Gatoaide in there as well.” Sam said. The fridge was mostly beer but he did have a few other things in there. Orange Juice and champagne was another thing. Mostly it was alcohol though and while he did have another fridge hidden in the man cave he didn’t always feel like going there to get a drink.
Sam walked over and sat on the bed. ”Sooooo….” Sam said petting Bruno as the dog turned and rested his large head on Sam’s lap.
"So I'm lucky to get some of your time, then?" Juliette questioned as he listed off his schedule. It didn't sound like he gave himself a ton of free time.
"I'm alright," she shrugged at the question of a different drink. "The coffee and the omelette were enough." More that enough, actually. The coffee was incredible. And more than she usually had in the mornings.
>>”Sooooo….”
"Yes?" She raised an eyebrow at him and took a seat next to Cammie on the bed.

He didn’t actually have a follow up to the so, so when she asked yes he just smirked and said the first thing that came to his mind, ”Third date and I got you on my bed.” he smirked and leaned over towards Juliette and put his hand on hers.
”Also thinking about that kiss you stole from me when we were in the danger room…” he smirked more and leaned in. ”I might want to steal it back.”
"On, but not in," Juliette commented, looking down at Sam's hand on hers.
Cammie mewed angrily as the pair moved closer together and then evacuated the bed altogether after a moment. Stupid humans, invading her space.
"Planning on stealing it, are you? What kind of example are you setting for your students?" Juliette grinned as she Sam moved in closer. She made no move to stop him, instead leaning in as well, so she could feel his breath on her face.

Sam smirked and stared at her lips when she said on. She was right but he wasn’t in a hurry to get her actually in bed. He more than happy just locking lips for a bit. ”I am. I tell them to do what I say not as I do.” Sam leaned in further and made the connection between lips.
The mewling Cammie stopped purring and let out a little growl of disapproval that she was no longer the center of attention. Sam gave her a little push and she got up and moved further back onto the bed away from the pair. After a few seconds Sam pulled back from the kiss. ”Thank you for taking good care of that kiss.” Sam leaned back in to her, ”You can have it back now if you’d like.”
Juliette's attention was diverted slightly as Cammie continued to mewl in protest before getting on the other side of the bed. She made a soft 'thump' noise as she landed gracefully.
"No problem," Juliette replied softly as Sam pulled away. He still tasted like the coffee they had had downstairs. "But yeah, I'll take it back now, if you don't mind."
She put her hand on the side of Sam's jaw and leaned back in towards him, tasting the coffee again. She pulled away after another moment and glanced at Bruno, who was enjoying not being the center of attention about as much as Cammie was. They really did require as much attention as kids did.
"Why don't you show me your office next?" Juliette offered after a moment. She had been interested in seeing it since Sam brought it up before.

Sam smirked when she suggested the office. Looking away from her for a second and to Bruno he had an idea why she would suggest it. He was just hoping she was thinking like him otherwise they would be going to the office to just see the office. ”Shame. Thought we could have stayed in here a bit longer.” Sam leaned in for another kiss then reluctantly stood up still holding onto her hand.
Bruno’s tail wagged when Sam stood and he too stood thinking he was going for a walk while Cammie just continued to lay on Sam’s bed. ”Bruno go outside?” Sam asked as he petted the dogs head after letting go of Juliette’s hand. Bruno let out a low barking growl and started to dance towards the door turning in a few circles when he got there. Sam smirked and opened the door and Bruno took off down the hallway barking.
”So… my office?” Sam asked with an eyebrow raised. ”Why do you want to see it so bad?” Sam asked as he stepped out into the hallway to lead her there.
"Well, we could always come back," Juliette shrugged and watched Bruno bound down the hallway. "Does he just stay in your room all day while you're out? That's an awfully big dog to keep cooped up for that long. More exercise makes them more calm." Of course, she had never actually owned a dog of her own, but that was what she told parents with overactive children.
She fumbled with her fingers as Sam let go of her hand and they walked down the hallway in the direction of Sam's office. "Just curious, I guess," she told him, sort of missing the act of having his hand in hers.
"It's interesting to see where you spend your time," she continued to explain. "Or I guess where you don't. Like you said, you can learn a lot about a person." She liked learning about Sam so far. Well, most things, at least.

”I like that idea.” Sam said nodding his head. ”He usually is in there to sleep. I pay some of the kids to keep an eye on him when I can’t. Today he just happened to be lounging in there. More often than not you will see him running the hallways with some of the kids.” Sam said, ”He is always just that hyped to meet new people. Like I said, he thinks he is still a puppy.” Sam said with a smirk.
”Curiosity killed the cat.” Sam teased as he slowed his pace till he and Juliette were walking right next to each other. Occasionally he leaned in a bit to bump shoulders with her in a playful manner. ”Just a heads up, gonna be a lot messier than my room. Ameilia just quit so most of the paperwork is a little jumbled. She decided that she wanted to become a full fledged cop. Which is cool, I guess but now I got to do all the paperwork so… yeah. A little hectic.” Sam said trying justify the mess that will be his desk. He didn’t have to worry much about beer cans and empty bottles of booze there. Just one or two empty bottles nothing that extreme.
When he got down the stairs Sam’s hand reached out to Juliette’s as he continued to walk. ”So one of my other jobs here is I’m a mansion greeter. I take care of the new resident paperwork and I make sure everyone has what they need as far as special request for rooms.” Sam said thinking about it, ”meaning I’m pretty sure I’m bad at my job seeing as you ended up moving in and I had no idea.” Sam laughed as he opened the door to his office.
The nameplates read Sam’s full name and his jobs at the mansion as well as Streaks who was head of security even though he had been gone for some time now. Just another thing Sam had to take care of. Looking at his desk there was a single bottle half empty of Irish whiskey and a glass the rest of the desk was buried under stacks of paperwork.
The room was lined with shelves and books most of which Sam never read. There were also a lot of photos on the wall of him and his friends. Sara, Ghost, Jorge, Shin and then there was one of him Luke and Raina when he went to go visit them. Sam looked about and then pointed to his desk. ”The one with the mess is mine.”
Amelia the cop. That certainly rung a bell in Juliette's mind. She wondered if it was the same one she had met late one night after she had pretended to be Aura. It did make sense. How many mutant cops name Amelia could there be? She decided to bring up the connection later if it ever came up again. It wasn't really what she wanted to talk about at that moment.
"Not bad, necessarily," Juliette grinned as she took Sam's hand in hers. "Just a little... Absent. It's partly my fault, though. I sort of forged my own path here." There was probably a lot she could have done to introduce herself and get to know people at the mansion, but she just hadn't. It had almost been easier to just arrive and fade into the background. Of course, that would be difficult if she was going to be spending time with Sam. It seemed like he knew everyone.
She glanced around his office and smiled widely. "Now this is more what I expected of your room." The office seemed a little more Sam's speed somehow. And it was certainly more personalized. She noted the bottle, but pushed any notions it might have carried to the back of her mind. She didn't want to think of any possibilities.
"You know, if you need someone to go through the paperwork until you figure something out, I'm sure the position of 'school nurse' wouldn't require me to be there twenty-four-seven." She offered as she glanced over Sam's photos. He certainly did know everyone. "Maybe not permanently, but for a little bit at least."

Sam smirked when she offered to help. ”Hmmm hard to date my assistant however if I happened to bring some paperwork on a date…” Sam laughed a little. ”Pay is pretty decent and I’ll actually like coming to work now.” Sam laughed a bit more as he went over to the desk and put his whiskey and glass on the book shelf where it normally was.
”Most of them are X-Men or were.” Sam said as he pointed to a few of the pictures, ”Some wanted to get away from it others come and go.” Sam said as he pointed to the photo of him and Jorge with a beach in the background. ”I like taking photos occasionally after mission successes.” Sam explained as he walked closer to the wall and Juliette. ”That was when Jorge and I took on the volcano. No one died that day. A few burns but no one died.” Sam said a little proud of the mission.
”Really though, the paperwork is boring. You don’t have to help me with it. I’m sure you got more important things to do.” Sam said as he went over and closed the door behind him and then locked it. Sam smirked and then changed the subject.
”You want to see something cool? And no, it doesn’t involve me removing my pants.” Sam said as he walked over to one of the bookshelves. ”Can you keep a secret?” he asked looking at his desk and once again ignoring the paperwork.
