The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

She waited for Sam at the designated time, in the designated place. Okay, so maybe she was slightly early, but it never hurt to be early for something, right? Xavia, who had no qualms wearing skimpy clothes because of the nature of her former employment, was relaxed in a pair of yoga pants and a sports bra. Yup, she went there with the yoga pants. Don't hate.
Her body was lithe, she did work out after all. Her belly, which bore the slight pale squiggles of stretchmarks from pregnancy, was otherwise toned. Not really a six pack, but there wasn't any extra flab either. She wore the outfit well. Enough said.
Her hair was braided and coiled around her head to keep it off the back of her neck, and she wore no make up (not that she needed it. Flower, hello!) Her arms were crossed over her bosom as she tapped the toe of one of her Filas against the floor.
The plant mutant was feeling slightly nervous because she was more used to fighting clothes onto a squirming toddler than laying hands in a violent manner on another human being, even if this would not be considered a real fight... right?
(I accidentally put this in wrong subforum, please disregard the first one lol)

So he was late, and a little more intoxicated than he intended but after his meeting with Xavia he had another two private training sessions one with a kid who was new to the mansion and could create hallucinations of giant unicorns and rainbows and another who could make you seem like you were running in slow motion. Needless to say Sam had a long day and wasn’t sure if another lesson was a good idea. However he was still a teacher and he was a team leader so even if he didn’t want to be there it could mean the safety of his squad and there was one thing Sam didn’t take lightly was his team.
”Sorry I’m… Damn.” Sam said as the doors whooshed open and Sam saw Xavia in her sports bra and yoga pants. She looked like a girl looking for attention at the gym. Sam smirked and rubbed the back of his head as he swaggered in. ”Here I was worried we be matching. Good thing I changed.” Sam said as he gestured down towards his bear feet, gym shorts and compression shirt.
”You stretch?” Sam asked pulling his arm across his chest and holding it and cracking his neck with a slight jerk to the side. Sam continued walking towards her until he was within a few feet of the plant life giver.
"Of course." As soon as he showed up, she would move to do some hamstring stretches, grabbing each foot respectively, making sure to keep an eye on him. After a few of those, she dropped to her butt and straightened her legs, and proceeded to press her forehead toward her knees while her hands gripped her feet. To keep it short, she spent a small amount of time to get her joints ready, always making sure he never had a good view because this was strictly business for her.
After all the stretching, she stood and waited for his instruction. Her eyes were serious as she regarded him. "You okay to do t'is, Sam?" She asked with a raised brow. She wasn't amused... Okay, maybe she was a little. But she would pretend to be irate... If Sam wouldn't notice the twitching of her lips.

”Yeah?” Sam responded as if that was a dumb question. Of course he was okay to do this. He had taught hundreds of classes before both large groups and one on ones. He gave her a quick glance and smirked. Then brought his hands up in a guard. ”First thing first. I don’t care how good you think you are, someone is always better. So that being said, even if you have a lot of practice fighting or none at all it’s always better to avoid a fight.” even if he never really followed his own instructions he always told all his students that. Even his fellow team members there were the heavy hitters sure but he had a feeling Xavia might be more support member than anything. Play to strengths and all that.
”You can throw a punch right?” Sam asked as he closed the distance towards her his hands still up in a guard. ”First one’s free. Let me see what you got.” this wasn’t how he usually taught his classes but sometimes some people dealt better with him being direct. Some, he wasn’t sure however if Xavia was that type.
She threw a punch... Not just a punch, but a hard hook to the left with her right fist, thumb correctly positioned and everything as she attempted to reach passed his guard. If her fist connected with his eye socket like she was going for, it wouldn't feel too good, but it wouldn't be the hardest punch in the world either because of her physical strength. Granted, having to carry a baby around a bit over time did make her stronger than she had been, but she was no fighter.
Her right foot stepped forward in the process of the punch, she put as much oomph into it as she could.

The punch came in and Sam turned into a pivot and guided Xavia over his shoulder and threw her. Maybe Sam should have put some mats down on the ground but he nodded slightly in approval of the weight in the punch. Even if she didn’t have a ton of experience she did seem like she knew something. The proper shape of the fist didn’t happen usually right off the bat.
”You sure you want to do this?” Sam mocked trying to adopt Xavia’s accent and tone as much as possible. Even if he was black out drunk it would take a lot for him to get hit. He had been fighting all his life. ”Again.” Sam said this time ready to side step the next punch.
"Bring it." she growled from the floor, not phased by the lack of mats. She stood up and, rather than throw another punch, she ran at him and, last moment, dropped into a crouch and sent her heel toward his knee, hoping to have the element of surprise on her side, a look of determination on her face but nothing else.
She was picturing the men who kidnapped her, the men who experimented on her, and the people who were just plain nasty to her. If her foot connected, she would move back and out of his reach.

She ran then crouched and Sam saw and felt her go for his knee. Sam frowned. That was definitely not what he told her to do. He said punch and she was going for a kick to the knee. Sam’s experience that was far more crippling that he liked during a spar session. Sam debated on catching the kick but instead took a pivot back avoiding the crippling kick to the knee. ”You are about three lessons ahead of where you should be. I said punch, not cripple.” Sam was being harsh now.
Closing the distance he reached out and grabbed her arm then pulled the it behind her. He was standing behind her now his face right behind hers, ”Focus, crawl before you can run. Right now I’m determining if you are able to listen to direction, look at the situation before you act. If I direct attack with the punch didn’t happen what should you do?”
She wanted to roll her eyes heavenward, "But if you tell me to punch, you expect it." She wasn't sounding like a jerk about it, simply just stating a fact. "If you expect my punch, I'm at disadvantage. What if I punch at an' you grab my arm or t'row me again. Besides, you said first punch was free an you t'rew me. But I will punch next time... You may want to let me go, though..." That whole time, she was trying to keep herself in check. In that position, she usually went into fight of flight mode out of reflex, and... well... unfortunately....
It happened. If he didn't pull back immediately, he would probably have a few puncture wounds. She winced and said, "Ow, ow, ow..." right as it was happening. Hawthorn thorns would protrude from her skin.

Sam didn’t let go until the thorns sprouted, he felt it first then let go quickly and then looked at where he was holding on Xavia then his hand which now had some holes in it which were quickly filling with blood. Sam looked from his hand back to Xavia and started to laugh. ”So clearly you have some tricks up your sleeves.”
Sam took a step back and some ice coated his hand causing the blood flow to stop short at the ice. It was a temporary fix but he didn’t really see any point to go to a healer for it. People get pricked by thorns all the time. ”What else can you do?” Sam asked curiously looking from his hand to Xavia. ”I mean what else can you produce besides Aloe and thorns?” he was curious now.
"Plant I touch. You have cactus? I can produce cactus or make cactus work for me. You want vine? I make vine... I make t'em grow no matter if winter or summer..." The plant mutant grimaced a little, beads of sweat forming little droplets above her lip as she concentrated. She held her hand up... It started with a few tendrils at first, and then burst forth into a pumpkin vine.
The vines whipped around him, then, wrapping themselves about him until he was entangled. She curled jerked her hand to snap the vine away from her palm, the vine held fast but started to brown within a few moments of her letting it go, especially in the spots where ice formed. Xavia touched the vine again with the tip of her finger, and it would turn green and sprout leaves, and grow heavy with a gourd. "Happy Halloween..." she muttered, her head starting to hurt from the concentration. She pulled away again and the vine would start to wither and die once more.

”Not gonna lie…” Sam said as he looked down to the vines and then back to Xavia before she let go the first time and they vines started to brown, ”Not the first time I’ve been tied up.” Sam smirked and watched her create a gourd. ”Interesting though.” once the vine was weak enough Sam managed to wriggle free instead of cutting it just in case she shared some kind of mental link with it.
”Few questions for you though.” Sam walked closer and tapped her on the shoulder, ”Any plant, how about trees?” Sam then took a step back and investigated the vine as he picked up the brown plant in his hand and rubbed his fingers on it, ”How much does it take out of you?” he then walked towards the gourd and then flicked it to determine if it was edible at that point or not. ”Can you eat anything you make?” he had a lot of other questions but he decided to hold more till she answered the first few.
If her mutation did take a lot out of her she’d have to practice more using it until she was able to maintain plants for hours at a time for her to be the most effective team member.
"Tree is plant, so yes, tree too. Yes, you can eat food I grow, but more from plant t'at start in ground. It come from me, it die fast. Takes lot of t'ought and energy to make from self, less to make existing plant grow." She balled her fist again, and bark "armor" formed on her knuckles. Her vision blurred a little, but damned if she would admit she was nearly spent already. She took a swing toward his shoulder and put the last bit of effort into it, before having to stumble to her duffle bag.
She produced a half gallon jug of water, unscrewed the cap which clicked and rolled onto the floor, and with shaking hands, she began to chug the tepid liquid inside, pausing every now and then to take in gasping breaths.

Sam waited another moment till Xavia caught her breath he tried to come up with a solution to her powers draining her energy so fast. If she was in the field she wouldn’t be much good if she tried to over exert herself and then pass out. ”What if you had seeds with you? Would it drain as much energy?” Sam then leaned down and placed a palm to the ground then slowly pulled some ice from the ground as it formed, it ended up looking like he was pulling a staff of ice from the ground.
”Normally I’d focus just on hand to hand but I’m already getting off track so my thoughts are gonna be heard for a minute before we go back to the punching. Normally people on the team use some kind of weapon when hand to hand won’t help. Like when you fight robots or something that is harder to hit. Personally for you I think a bo staff of some hard wood, heh” Sam smirked and shook his head before he continued, ”would be perfect for you unless you think you can keep those vines going for a while.”
Sam’s staff turned to a pair of swords as he twirled it in his hands then turned to a spear then back to a bow staff. Sam then slammed the staff into the ground and it shattered. ”Gawain and Maya use a bow and arrow, Evee and Sara use sais and throwing stars, me and about three others typically use some kind of sword.” Sam then shrugged, ”But most of them don’t create them from nothing which is where you and I have such an advantage.” Sam cooled the room a bit with his powers in hopes it would help Xavia catch her breath sooner. ”I want you practicing at least four hours a day using your mutation. Creating things and then holding them as long as you can.” it might of seemed like much but Sam was at eight to twelve hours when he was first abducted.
”Computer… Sparring partner 004.” as he finished the hard light construct formed a shadowed figure of a woman a little taller than Sam. The shadowed figure brought her hands up into a guard and waited for someone to attack. Sam then looked to Xavia, ”Go all out. No lethal take downs.” she looked drained but this was usually how it happened on mission. You were exhausted but you’d still run into trouble.
"I never t'ought of t'at." she said with contemplation. Hopefully he wouldn't make it too much cooler, the cold hurts her. She said nothing for the moment though because he was trying to be nice and helpful. She downed the whole jug of water, which would make normal people sick... but she is a plant, yo. Sort of.
Her complexion seemed to normalize and she observed him as he made his own weapon out of his own powers. That was a good concept. Maybe she could make a whip out of some vines or something. Even better, perhaps she could buy herself a whip. She pondered this next course of action before she got herself at the ready to fight the thing he had the computer conjure up.
She went after it, punching as hard as she could and as quickly as she could, never staying in one place for more than she needed to. She moved a little bit like a professional boxer would without intending to.
