The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Well, it seemed that the first shift would start now. Suppose that meant going to the infirmary. It wasn't too difficult, the trail blood lead right to it (thanks Raina!). Joy. Natalie made her way to the infirmary, looking around to see if any other mutants that she had met were headed to the same place. That was her mistake.
SMACK! Natalie was smashed in the side, dropping her to the floor. Due to her weak bone structure, three ribs were broken. Right now all she knew was that she was in a lot of pain. And it really hurt. "MOVE IT MUTIE! YOU'RE NOT HERE TO SIGHT-SEE, YOU'RE HERE TO WORK!! MOVE!!" Realising that the mutie was making no attempt to move, the guard yanked her up by the hair. "I SAID MOVE!!"
"Easy there Gladys. I think you broke that one. Better send her to the infirmary." Another guard had decided to intervene, as whilst they could do what they wanted to the mutants, that did not include death. Death was definately a big no-no. Something that Gladys didn't seem to understand all that well. Which was probably one of the reasons for hiring her in the first place.
"Pfft. They're no fun when they're limp anyway. I'll get her later." Gladys, being the nice lady she is, didn't bother walking the whole way to the infirmary. Instead, she walked most of the way (still holding Natalie by the hair), and threw her through the door. "Nurse, got a broken mutie for ya!"
Terry wasn't expecting the response from the 'creature' she had bumped into. As she tried to edge past him, she had suddenly received a sharp jolt of electricity from the collar, followed closely by a blow to her side. She gasped and reeled away from the guard, and into the wall, earning herself a bump to the head, from collision with the wall. The next thing she knew, his baton was pushing into the base of her throat. She wheezed and struggled frailly for a while, then decided against it and was still. The guard was saying something, but she wasn't listening to him; her head throbbing seriously from the concussion and her lungs protesting for more air.
“Look at me when I'm talking to you, Trash!”, the guard suddenly bellowed, grabbing her hair and yanking roughly.
"Owwww..." She gritted her teeth; it was all she could do from screaming out loud. Her scalp was burning with pain; the bastard had almost pulled out her hair with that yank. And breathing became much more difficult when he leaned closer to speak into her ear. She had to hold her breath for the entire duration of his speech. She just wanted to get away from him...
And he'd just stated that he would follow her to her job and supervise it. Oh hell! Terry couldn't think of seeing any black cats that day, or walking under any ladder, or breaking a mirror... so why was all this happening to her? This was obviously the worst day of her life.
She was thankful when he released her; at least she wouldn't be breathing that 'door to an alternate dimension containing rotten alien body parts' that he was proud to call his mouth. She straightened herself up, pushed a few strands of hair behind her ear, all the while ignoring his presence. Then she headed for the line of mutants who were getting their jobs. She was brimming with frustration and anger, and inwardly, she swore that she'd get even with this 'creature'. She eventually found out that she had been posted to 'Customs', and the beast was going to follow her there.
She never spoke a word throughout the ordeal, planning to herself what she would do to him when she was loose. Not 'if', but 'when'. And then, she would break his jaw, even if it was the last thing she did. "Patience, Terry... it's just a matter of time..."
Emerald smiled softly, hugging Millie gently, she nuzzled the little girl until the guards got back in. Emerald put Millie down and stepped in front of her, hiding the little girl behind her legs. When a guard handed her a card she looked at it it said
Job:Quarry but is ordered to report to guard Barracks whenever they need cleaning this means the mutant guards as well.
Emerald flipped over the card and saw something written in...blood.
Look forward to seeing you my pet. Love, Jason Or Bloodfang.
Emerald's eyes widened, watching the guard walk away. She sunk against the wall, away from Millie, growing very pale and her eyes widening more.
Ruby had just received her job of the Custom House as Well as Guard Barrack cleaning before her Custom house Duty started. Ruby noticed her sister and hopped off the bunk and went over to her.
The fox girl took the card from Emerald's hands and looked on the back at the note. Her ears flattened and her eyes widened.
"Emmy....I won't let him hurt you." Ruby reassured, putting her hand on Emerald's shoulder.
"Ruby it's you I'm worried about. Bloodfang knows if he gets to the people I'm close to he gets to me. I want you to promise you won't get into any confrontations with him and if you do, you will back down. I do not want you to get hurt!"
"But-"
"Promise me!"
Ruby looked at the look in her sisters eyes, so wild with that unbridled fury but so filled with fear of things to come. She nodded slowly, causing Emerald to hug her tightly.
"Thanks little sister." Emerald smiled
She released Ruby however, upon seeing a guard approaching them. She let out a low growl, pushing herself in front of Millie and her sister. The wolf girl watched as Ruby moved to her side with a determined look, Emerald still made sure however, that she was in a position to get in front of any hit they threw at the fox girl.
((cough cue guard. Come on someone fill in the guard spot please))
Somewhere along the few minutes James had wondered back into the girls barracks. Maybe it was the fact that. He’d followed a few of his fellow guards back in. For some reason feeling much more confident with his fellow zoo keepers, toting guns and remotes with pretty red zapping buttons, company.
Saundering in right behind two other guards he caught sight of the cute little fox girly with another yonger girl.. .. .. hmmmm.. .. .. he mentally licked his lips.. .. .. and an older female.
Of course he had to pay her some attention. Strolling out from behind the other two guards, who were busy with who cared what, he stepped up. Purposely leaning forward so that his face, with it’s early five O clock shadow was maybe 6 inches from Emerald’s face, a smile creased across his cheeks.
“What’s this? Hmmm?” He snatched the card. Mostly because the color of the red letters had caught his attention, flipping the card over to read the back. “Oh nice.” That ugly smile twisted farther across his cheeks. “Oh aren’t you getting special treatment.” He mused. “Tell me. Will you continue your baby sitting on these visits? Are your little stray friends here up for adoption too? I’d give one a good home.” With that he winked at Ruby.

Raina was walking past Emerald and the girls when she saw the guard approach them. She had a huge tray of dishes in her arms and looked down at the little girl - Ruby- that was always with her. A pang went through her stomach. Ruby was one of the youngest ones here and it reminded her of what she had just recently lost. Raina didn't always see eye-to-eye with Emerald, but of the two of them Raina had nothing left to lose. Emerald needed to be around to take care of Ruby. So walking direct with a purpose, Raina walked past the guard and slammed into him 'accidentally' with her elbow sending the tray of dishes crashing everywhere and the green goop inside of them all over the guard. She smiled- green goop had always been her friend. She looked up at the guard daring him to shift his attention to her.

Millie had not even noticed when she was being moved this way and that until she was behind Emmy and next to Ruby. Oh well. She shrugged, began humming her ABCs and continued to pet Merlin. When a guard came up, she noticed him wink at Ruby. The confused little blonde girl stood up in a hurry, her eyes wide open in disbelief and her mouth had nearly dropped to the ground. All time stopped for the little girl and you would think that she knew what that meant. Then again, how would someone so small know what a wink means?
"WOW! How did you do that?!" She squealed, allowing Merlin to hang down by her legs as she held his hand. "I want to learn. Pleat tell me how do to make your eye go down and back up and not the other eye?" She smiled, rushing over to his side, narrowly avoiding Mama Emmy, but only for a second, she knew she would be pulled back momentarily. So, she grabbed on to the guard's leg and smiled up at him, attempting to wink, more like failing horribly.
"One eye clote!" She giggled before closing both eyes. A huff and puff here and there and she tried again, followed with a frustrated growl. "I think I can I think I can I think I can I think I can...clote!" Again, both eyes. "Oh, Lucky Charmt! I can't do it!" She tugged on his pants and whinned at Mama Emmy with her pouting eyes. "Merlin the Wonder Teddy can do it. Tee?" She covered up one of his eyes and then let him see through it again. "He downeded hit eye!"
James was just about to open his big mouth once more when someone slammed into his back side. He stumbled a step forward arms stretched out for a moment before sliding his hands back along his uniform. What was that! he pulled his slime covered hands forward infront of his face gaining a disgusted face. Eye brows practically connecting as they furrowed. “What the Hell!” He swong around grabbing someone’s bed sheets to clean his hands on and smear the crap off of his uniform… although his efferts only smeared the crap in to the fabric more. “What were you thinking you Bi…”
He was stepping after Raine, beginning to give her his full attention when a smaller voice pulled him back and there was a little girl asking how to wink and grasping his pant leg. Oh Crap, was she scary. His glare faltered with one eye brown raising about an inch higher then the other. The perfect WTF face. Quickly he grabbed for his waist band as she grasped his pant leg. Preventing an embarrassing moment where the little girl nearly pulled his pants down. Hot pink silk poka-dotted underwear. No one needed to see those.
”ahhhhhhh.. .. .. ”
His eyes flicked up at Emerald, then back down to the little girl. The ugly smile gracing his scruffy features again. Sacrificing one arm that was holding his pants up still, he scooped the child up bringing her up to his eye level. “Why are you the little cute one too you little muty-scumpy-wumpy.” He soothed. Eyes checking Emerald’s expression again.
“Blinking with one eye’s easy.” He said. “If you have trouble, here, it feels like this. “ He raised his other hand to one of his eyes and demonstraighted closing one eye lid with his index finger. “It feels like that only without your finger. Gentle though. Don’t want to do this.” He pointed his finger right as his own eye and .. .. .. “Ouch! Son of a.. .. You see?”
He smile widened again. Creasing the sides of his cheeks more. “So do you have joby-wobby any wherey-erry?”

Raina wasnt sure if the man was sincerly being silly or about to be dangerous, but her eyes darted back to him and Emerald. She took a defensive stance and braced herseld locking eyes with Emerald. If he hurt Millie in the slightest there would be a lot of mutant on him without fear of isolation.
She waited, and breathed. If she needed to sing she'd do it- but it woudlnt probably result it permanent damage.
Quinn walked across the camp grounds, looking at each small detail, he eventually wound up at the barracks "Perfect" he thought entering the building. Inside he saw rows and rows of beds, walking down the middle he looked for Neena's bunk, finally he spotted it, and made a mental note of it's location. He decided to exit on the other side, he could see something happening down there and wanted to know who to watch out for.

Emerald's eyes widened when she saw what Raina did, sure the two didn't always agree on things but still what Raina just did was risky. The wolf girl wondered whether or not the woman was in her right mind at the moment but those thoughts had evaporated once Millie came out from behind her.
Emerald was already planning on doing something to the guard to get him to leave them alone but now with Millie in the way she couldn't.
The wolf girl began growling at the guard when he picked up Millie from the ground. She bared her teeth and the fur on her tail prickled in distaste. She gently removed Millie from the guards arms and placed her down on the bunk. Emerald glared up at the guard as she rose up, a snarl escaping her lips.
"No the kid doesn't have a job, she is six years old and she doesn't need one. I will just work more to make up for whatever Millie isn't doing. She will stay in the barracks and I will go work." Emerald stated to the guard with occasional growls escaping her lips.
Ruby nodded, ears flat to her head. "I will work a bit harder so Millie won't have to do anything. I like to clean anyways so it shouldn't be that hard." She said, tail swaying back and forth.
Emerald smiled over at Ruby who smiled back. Both sisters knew how hard it was to be in a situation like this especially around Millie's age, but they wanted to make this as easy as possible for the little girl. Neither of them wanted the little girl to get hurt.
A wolfish grin crept across Emerald's face. "Besides you wouldn't want a little girl to be following us around everywhere would you? It may prevent us from working to our full potential."
Ruby rolled her eyes at Emerald for laying it on that thick but if i would get the guard to leave Millie alone she knew her big sister would do whatever it took.
The child was taken from his arms. A good thing because he actually found her a little annoying, well annoying in the cute little girly way. Her being taken away was a shame as well because he couldn’t use her as a living shield should the ladies decide to be stupid. Well he still had a remote. He’d just taken it from one of the other guards getting off work while he was out.
He casually shame!ed one hip to the side and crossed one arm, the other rubbing scross his chin with a smirk as Emerald growled her words and snarled. Oh look, a wolf tail good go fluffy like too sort of like a cats. You learned something new every day.
“So what your saying is you’ll be really, really busy and will be letting that sweet little girly wirlly goo stay all alone in this room alone?” There was a twinkle at the corner of his eye. “How irresponsible of you.” He mocked imitating his the look his father would give him when he was disappointed in little James. “You’ll need a good baby sitter. I’ll volunteer. I mean, if you refuse I could always call child services on your sorry hairy ass. I think they still consider the younger ones of your kind children.”

Another growl escaped Emerald's throat, hands clenching into fists. She looked ready to throttle him and believe the author saying that she was. Emerald was getting Irritated really fast and that was not a very good thing considering the situation she was in.
"Look, the kid has no where else to go she hardly is a mutant, all she can do is make stuff glow. She isn't dangerous I'm sure someone in the camp will take care of her while I'm out in the quarry." Emerald growled, Irritation etched clearly upon her face.
Ruby looked at James, ears flattening to her head. Part of her wished that Sapphire was there with them though, she could almost feel her older sisters pressence with them at that moment.
Shrugging it off, Ruby grabbed Emerald's hand and squeezed it, calming the older girl down instantly. Her tail gently wrapped around her body as she looked up at James.
"Do you think we can go to our jobs now, I really have to get cleaning if I want to get to the customs house in time." Ruby told the guard, green eyes looking up at him pleadingly.
That grease yellow stained smile that creased his face, practically spread from ear to ear again. “All the more reason to get them involved. hmmm?”
He let his right hand slide down to his belt where the button for his remote was. Ready just in case. Of course he wouldn’t just simply walk away without making more of an ass out of himself. “I’ll be sure to check in on here none the less for you.” He mocked. Continuing acting like a complete idiot.
“Oh sure. Go to work. Wouldn’t want to stand in your pretty little way.” He turned away beginning to walk the aisles down to the other side of the woman’s barracks. Ruby’s tail catching his attention and gaining another flash of yellow teeth. In passing he grabbed for her tail with his left hand, intending on pulling her sideways towards him and bumping his hip into hers at the same time.
Smoothly he slid he had back around the other side of Ruby’s waist. Pulling her back, so tat her side was pressed against his front. James leaning lowing so that his lips brushed across the inner hairs against her ears. The Right hand pulled the remote from it’s place on his belt and he used the flat side against her cheek, tilting her head so that he didn’t have to bend so far to her ear. “It’s nice to know where you’ll be running about to, love.” His rush chin brushed the side of her cheek as his voice lowered gaining a hint of gravel. “I’ll be sure to keep in touch.”
Nika listened to Tricity as she tried to resore some order amongst the women from the mansion. Especially the ladies who are X-Men. Deathstar wasn't doing a very good job of being an X-Man. At least not how Nika envisioned how X-Men should act.
She thought the famous X-men were caring and helpful sorts. Maybe she was wrong about them. at least Tricity was an equal opportunist for who got accepted to join her special team.
Nika was startled as the guards started shouting about jobs. I suppose this time was bound to come sooner or later she thought.
When Nika jumped from the loudness of the guards instructions her side sent a seering pain through her. She winced and immediately grabbed her side as she let out a slight whimper. It hadn't hurt too badly until now, but then she hadn't done much until now either.
"Hey, you with the white furry ears! Get up it's time for you to get to work." shouted one of the guards as she tried to lift up Nika by her arm. This only further aggrivated her wound and caused it to start bleeding again.
"She better go to the infirmary before she does any work." Stated a much more calm female guard.
"Fine then you take her. I don't want mutie blood on me."
The second lady nodded and helped Nika up slowly and guided her out of the barracks.
"Thank you."
"Shh. Don't talk."
Nika remained silent the rest of the way to the infirmary. There the female guard handed the cat girl off to the medical staff.
A male walked over and started to look Nika over.
"What's the pro..."
His question was cut short when he saw Nika's side. The blood had started to soak into her dress and created a crimson colored blot the size of a hand.
"Gwendolyn I think you better take a look at this one."
Nika just looked at the man with a sense of helplessness. Her face showed her emotions as well.

Ruby stiffened in the male's grip, ears flattening. She let out a tiny whimper of distress and looked at her sister desprately. Ruby squirmed in his grip, tiny yips escaping her lips, "Let go of my tail please!" Ruby yelped
At that moment all of Emerald's reservations about not getting violent faded away. The wolf girl let out a snarl and charged James, fist flying up to his face at full force, her other hand reach out to grab Ruby away from him. Though Emerald had a collar on, preventing her mutant abilities it did not prevent her from using her physical abilities because despite Emerald's wolven strength often giving her an Advantage in fights Em was still a very strong woman who worked out every day. She also knew how to fight and her musscles and the strength of her punches proved that, so even without wolven strength filled boost a punch from Emerald Lupin would still hurt very badly if it connected.
