The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Tses blushed at his comment, and opened her mouth to make a snarky remark about using him as a pillow, when he threw the feathers at her and she caught a few in her mouth. Making a face, she spat them, out and brushed them to the ground, and stuck her tongue out at him. "Hey, just for that you may not even get a couch cushion and get stuck as a pillow anyway! Just remember though: this---" she scooped up the feathers and deposited them on his head. "---Is what I do to my pillows." the glint returned to her eyes and she looked just as dangerous as ever.
As he spoke about his birthday, she gave a little chuckle and ran a hand through her hair. "Well, I'll keep it in mind. I've never celebrated my birthday, honestly. It's always been just a day to me. I'm surprised I even know the date now, but I figure I gotta at least know how old I am, so it's more of a mile marker than anything. Just turned 21 last year. Although without any legit identification doesn't really mean anything." She said, swinging her legs slightly with them danging over the edge of the bed.

Ty laughed, which intensified when she put feathers back on his head. To this, he just shook his head, sending the feathers flying everywhere. "Though I wouldn't mind being your pillow, just saying~" he winked at her, then listened as she spoke on her birthday.
"Yeah, I understand. I have an ID but that's all it's really good for. And I'll be 21 my next birthday," he said, sitting on the edge of the bed next to her, beginning to calm down from their little outburst. He took her hand in his, and leaned against her, snuggling her shoulder.
Tses chuckled, and looked towards the window. Sunlight glittered into the kitchen, and a stray feather seemed like it was playing in the light where it rested. It was peaceful in the middle of the disaster. She liked it. It seemed to fit her lifestyle. "As far as the government is concerned, I don't exist. Kinda why I get away so much I think. Guess that's why i was so surprised the cops found me. I know my last name, but I don't even know if I have a birth certificate or anything like that. Guess I had to have had one, but I never had to go to school, so hard to say." She murmured thoughtfully. She felt his hand in hers, and and gave it a little squeeze.
"You know, if I had met you a few days later it would have been like a birthday present." She remarked, and glanced at him giving a smile. "Either way, still the closest thing to a birthday I've ever had. And then we had Christmas together. Definitely been a good year." She didn't mention New Years, but that was in the past for now.

Ty gave a nod, listening as she spoke. He settled into her, loving this closeness. It was nice, and sweet. He loved every moment of it. He ran a hand through her hair.
"Yeah, it was a great year. And I was an early birthday present then. Like a puppy you didn't want at first but realized you did~" he winked, snuggling her.
"I know this year didn't start off quite so well, but I promise I'm going to make sure it's even better than last year. 2013 is gonna be our year, Hun. You and me, doing what we do best~" He smiled softly.
Tses made a face at him, and playfully pushed him as he snuggled her. She didn't mind right now, but she still had some of her bratty playfulness left. "You must be a puppy. You're so snuggly and cute! You know the more cute time we have now the more things I'm going to have to blow in the future to make up for it. Otherwise the entire balance of the universe will be off. Can you hear that, it's screaming right now. 'Tses is being cute! The world is ending!!!'"
She smirked at him so he'd know she didn't really mind, and kissed him on the nose. Then she made an expression of mock horror and put her hands to her mouth, looking out over her shoulder as if at something invisible. "Wait, did you hear that? Yup, a street just collapsed in some third world country. For the better of humanity I should probably refrain from so much cuddling...What do you think?" She turned back to him, a curious glint in her eyes. She didn't know how far her teasing could go without actually offending him, but that seemed to be part of the game they played with each other. Tses pushed him with her meanness, Ty pushed her with his cuddling. In the end it evened out to some type of unsteady relationship.
When she pushed him, he smirked and playfully pushed her back. "Hey, if that's how the world ends, at least I get to die happy," he replied back with a wink. "I gotta admit blowing crap up is fun." Taking a deep breath, he scooped up a handful feathers and held them in front of his face before blowing and scattering them in front of him.
He smirked, listening to her teasing. "I'd probably be a jackass for what I think right now," he teased, backing away again and playfully shoving her so she'd know without a doubt he was a hundred...okay maybe seventy five percent joking. "I think you should shut up and kiss me." He gave a small shrug, leaving her no room to think he was being completelyserious. It was all in good fun.
To further prove this point, he took another handful of feathers and threw them in the air, letting them cascade over her.
Tses knew Ty was joking, mostly, but she also knew him well enough to know the small levels of seriousness in his words. The end of the world was a large price to pay just for them to be together normally, but she almost wondered if it would be worth it. Dieing happily. She liked the sound of it, whether or not Armageddon came in it's wake. "Well maybe if you behave yourself sometime I'll let you play with explosives again. Once we work on your aim, that is." She teased. This time, she swatted most of the feathers away, and gave him an expression of mock annoyance.
Then, his next words startled her. She caught the teasing nature in them, but there was a small little glimmer of hope he couldn't quite hide from his face. She slowly narrowed her eyes at him, feeling the mental time bomb ticking in her brain. But then she heard his other comments about being brave and trusting. Sure, he was teasing, but it was still an opportunity. As the feathers landed on top of her, her eyes glittered mischievously, and she looked down at her bare hand, examining her nails then looking up at him from the corner of her eye. "I don't know... My kisses have unforseen consequences. Not sure you could handle one of them...." She remarked.
Ty wrinkled his nose. "Me? Behave? You really don't know me all that well, do you?" he teased, winking at her. "Though I admit my aim does need a little work..."
He blinked at her reaction to his joke, and fidgeted just a little. Nervousness was starting to settle in, but he spoke with a glimmer in his eyes. "Tses, pretty much everything I do has unforeseen consequences. Though I guess that depends on what 'one of them' would be...I was mostly joking that time, anyway~" He gave a small shrug, smirking a little.
He knew full well this could possibly get him hurt and/or tick her off. Though, he was caring less and less about that. After all, no risk, no reward. "Though I'd say a nice, sweet, couples moment with you would be worth the end of the world to me," he murmured softly, brushing his hair out of his face and sending a stray feather floating daintily to the ground.
Tses saw the nervousness in his expression, and if anything, that encouraged her more. If she was doing something just to make him uncomfortable, the actual cute aspect didn't frighten her as much. The feather falling out of his hair made her smile slightly, and she moved so she was facing him, tucking her legs to the side. "Well, I guess if you're willing to accept the consequences..." She started to say, a little glint in her eyes. She met his eyes for a moment, and that made her pulse skip for a second. She was being brave, but it still made her a little nervous. But as a distant fear started to return, she boldly leaned forward and kissed him on the mouth.
She was never quite prepared for the little tingles being kissed gave her, and as she pulled away, she paused, opening her eyes to look at him. Being that close was terrifying for her, but still strangely exhilarating. The shadows in her mind retreated a little, and she looked around, giving a smile. "Well, the earth is still on it's axis. Good sign."
Ty was never fully prepared for the feeling that came with a kiss. It didn't matter whether it was he or Tses who initiated it. The result was the same every time; his heart skipped a beat and butterflies swarmed his stomach.
When his eyes opened, he was looking at her, a dreamy grin on his face. "Yep," he breathed. "Though I gotta admit, from our end, that'd be one hell of an Armageddon." He winked, blushing slightly at the many underlying meanings to that joke before just lying back on the bed, sending a cloud of feathers flying as he did so.
He just stared at the ceiling, that cheesy grin still on his face.
Tses smirked, and watched as Ty flopped into the bed. Feathers fluttered up from the ground like fog rising to the sky, and it looked pretty in an odd little way. It was a peaceful moment in the middle of the storm, and she wished there could be more like it. Laying back next to him, and resting her head on his chest she sighed and shut her eyes, energy drained and the exhaustion returning. For a moment, she just felt happy and peaceful. But then the fear crawled through her mind, and it's grip caught her heart.
The walls were closing in tighter around her, darkness was everywhere... She tried to yell and fight, but nothing she did could get her free. Every time she woke, she was still trapped, still alone... There was no peace in that solitude, only terror. And now, that fear made it hard for her to sleep, hard to relax. Every time she started to drift off, she saw those walls, and her hands began to shake. It was a nightmare that was impossible to run from, and she had no way of convincing herself it would never happen again. Without realizing it, her hand clutched Ty's shift slightly, and she curled closer against his side. She didn't feel like she'd ever really be the same again. That solitude was all around her, and she couldn't escape it's clutches.

Ty sighed contentedly as he felt her head against his chest, and he let his eyes drift closed. Ty's thoughts drifted happily in his sleep. Happy thoughts flooded his mind as he cuddled against her. He dreamed about the two of them, having adventure after adventure, and she was getting better and better about close moments and being cuddly.
However, he was jarred from his sleep by a vice-grip on his shirt, and her body pressing even closer to him, and his eyes flew open, well aware of what was happening. She was having another nightmare. Likely related to the incident. The one that wouldn't have happened had he been there for her like he should've been.
But there was no changing the past. He could only hope for the best in the present, so he held her closer, kissing her forehead and playing with her hair as he hummed lightly, his other hand rubbing her back as he positioned himself to face her. Kissing her cheek, he continued humming, then whispered in her ear. "Everything's okay. I'm here for you now. And I always will be."
Darkness.... it was everywhere.... She was so alone, no where to run, no one to call to. Fear was like a poison spreading through her veins, and it trickled through her like tiny knives, cutting and blackening everything it its wake. Her powers were not bright enough to stop it, nothing could stand it it's way. It changed shapes in her mind; sometimes is was a figure slumped over in an arm chair, eyes slowly turning to face her. Sometimes, it was a pack of humans, moving like animals through the streets hunting her. Sometimes, it was a figure that made her feel insignificant, threw her to the ground and smiled over her. She was helpless, no matter what she did, she would always be helpless...
Then, a touch broke through. A voice comforted her, a warm reassurance. Someone was there. Someone was with her. She was going to be ok. She had to hope and try to stay strong. Maybe alone, she was helpless. But she didn't have to be alone anymore.
She woke with tears streaming down her face, and cried against Ty's shoulder. It was like her body crumpled as she wakened, energy drained, body shaking with fear and confusion. She hated this. She couldn't handle being this weak. She didn't like Ty seeing her like this, but she didn't want to be alone. "Everytime I close my eyes, it's all I see..." She whispered, voice quiet and hardly audible. "I don't even want to sleep anymore...." She said, shaking her head in dismay.

Ty held her close, petting her hair as she cried on his shoulder. He rubbed her back and did everything he could to make her feel better.
"I don't know what to tell you, but it isn't that easy. A good sleep will come, in time. You just need to stay strong. I'm here for you, and I'm not going anywhere," he said softly, humming the soothing little tune again. It wasn't anything special, just something off the top of his head that sounded sweet.
His arms wrapped around her, and he kissed her forehead. Right now, he was more of a father or brother-figure than a boyfriend. But he was there for her. He was her shoulder to cry on, her strength when she didn't have any, and he was the love she couldn't find anywhere else.
"I'll never leave you again, Honey. Never for that long...."
It was like his voice kept getting further away, and her mind was spinning too fast to keep up. Around and around thoughts whirled, like a tornado scrambling every thought. There was no way out. There was no safety. She couldn't hear his comforting words clear enough, couldn't feel his touch. As the panic attack took hold, she started trembling uncontrollably, and her hands glowed with her green energy. They were all warning signs, hints of the chaos about to follow, as she started falling further and further into the fear. "Can't make it go away....just want to make it go away...." She was half asleep, half awake, trapped in a nightmare, a daydream of fear. Mild cracking, emotional pain leaking through every pore and fiber....
Until she couldn't take it anymore, and scrambled off the bed, half falling to the ground. Her legs were tangled in the blankets and she let out a noise that was like a quiet strangled scream. The darkness was everywhere, she couldn't get away, could escape it. Her eyes were wild with fear and she clawed at her arms, the green energy snaking along them like the shadows in her mind. She needed air, she needed to get out of this room, this cage. Without warning she rushed to the window, and shoved it open, letting the air rush into the room. She knelt in front of it, holding her knees and breathing in the fresh air. "Just make it go away...." Moment by moment, the fear started to quiet. The air cleared her mind, and started snuffing out the terror. She could hear something again, sense Ty's presence, but she didn't lift her head, burying it against the skin of her bare legs.
