The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Eh, I dunno, the city can be dangerous when it gets later. Do you want me to give you a ride or anything," Emerald replied surprisingly quickly.
Normally, the wolf woman was known for staying quite for a small amount of time before responding, trying to word things in a non wolf kind of way. She tended to get onto people about doing things she didn't think were good ideas, causing some unneeded grief between herself and her non shiftier companions.
That said, her wolf brain was working in overdrive and she honestly didn't want this girl she just met wandering in the city alone at night. That was far too dangerous and hotel or not, New York was a terrible place to be alone in, that is unless you had the experience.
All this talk of Serena going back to the city to find a place to stay wasn’t making sense. Nor was it sounding good as Victoria remembered the other blonde girl from the front gate mentioning that Serena didn’t have a place to stay. This wasn’t turning out so well, thought the little red-eyed girl.
Looking at both of the other females Victoria piped up rather abruptly. “She can stay in my room. Well, for tonight I mean.” Now directing herself to Serena. “At least until you can get yourself a room. I don’t mind.”
Serena was a little surprised how abruptly the other two females had responded to her comment about going into the city. They clearly did not want her wondering around at night... It wasn't as if she was a kid though to be fair...
Then Victoria piped up. Serena stood for a moment, it did sound far less awkward than occupying a random empty room, she had to admit. But it did also sound a lot more imposing on Victoria, Serena wasn't sure if she wanted to impose.
She decided there was always a way to find out. Ask her. "Wouldn't that be imposing on you?" Serena asked, slightly awkwardly. She did realise that it was probably the best suggestion, but still she didn't want to be a bother to Victoria... Was coming here the best decision after all? She wasn't really sure, but she guessed she would find out soon enough.

Immediately shaking her head in response to Serena’s question Victoria finished with a smile. “I don’t mind sharing my room until you get your own. At least you’ll have somewhere to rest instead of laying in a hallway or something.” The little blonde girl gave a little blink with a nod and smiled again.
Out of all the things Emerald knew about, the thing she knew the most about was how people really couldn't be trusted in the City. New York City might be the city of dreams but if someone wasn't careful it could easily be turned into the City of Nightmares. Out of all the places Emerald had been in America, New York City was easily one of the worse when it came to the manipulation of those less fortunate.
If there was one thing for sure the wolf woman would be dammed in hell if she would let the younger girl go wandering around New York City alone, no matter what age she was at. Hell, the only reason Ruby ever ended up wandering the city alone was because she snuck out or because Emerald gave her a tracking device. Luckily, Serena was saved from a stern talking to by Victoria offering the girl to stay in her room for the night. If there was anything Emerald could do, it was sigh in relief at that offer, her body immediately shaking off that tension she was feeling. Sure she hadn't known Serena that long, but it wasn't like she was going to let her wander about aimlessly in New York. Just wasn't safe and at least if she had a room at the mansion she'd be comfortable and happy.
"She's right," Emerald began as she leaned back against the refrigerator, blue eyes focused on the two girls "We would much rather you be here than anywhere else. No matter how old you are, being in New York, alone at night isn't always the best thing. Besides' there are people who love just messing with others. This place is filled with far more jerks than it should be. If Victoria didn't offer you her room I would have gone with ya to where you are staying and made sure the perimeter was safe."
Once again, The wolf woman had only known Serena for a little while now, but if she honestly didn't want anything to happen to her. Maybe it was just in the Alpha Female's nature, even if it was she didn't care, she wouldn't allow anything to happen to someone if she knew there was a way to prevent it.
Serena smiled at Victoria, she felt a wave of relief, a lot of the tension left her shoulders. She could rest, she could finally rest, that was a very good thing. "Thank you Victoria, it means a lot, I could seriously use some rest."
Serena smiled and gave the young girl a gentle hug for a moment and then stood up and patted herself down, knocking some of the dust from falling in the alley earlier that night, She then turned to Emerald. "Thank you as well Emerald, if anything I at least got some company and more accustomed to the idea of being a mutant this evening."
Serena then proceeded to give the tall red headed woman a quick gentle hug as well.
