The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The girls didn't have to tell Emerald twice about leading the way. Hell, Emerald was already halfway out the door when they agreed that she should lead them to the kitchen. The blue eyed wolf woofed excitedly and barreled down the hallway toward the kitchen. Wolves were fairly fast and the duo might notice that their four legged friend outran them rather quickly.
She might have left the girls in the dust because by the time they would get there they would notice the ripped chewed to pieces Tupperware discarded on the floor near the trashcan. They also might, might notice that instead of their wolfy companion from earlier that there was a far more human presence.
Well if you could call someone like Emerald a human. The Alpha female leaned against the counter top, apple clenched tightly in hand. She was chowing down on it as if she hadn't eaten anything in weeks, large sharp teeth really tearing into the thing. The wolf woman swallowed finally and waved to her two companions once they got in there, tail swishing back and forth.
"Yo," She greeted, "Sorry about the wolf stuff earlier, it was the full moon a few days ago and I was stupid, forgot to eat when I got back so I was stuck like that. Also, I guess you two are new because I didn't recognize your scents earlier that's why I gave you a bit of a scare, can't be too careful these days with the nut-balls running around this damn city."
Emerald had never been known for being the most friendly person in the world so it was really not surprise to anyone that knew her that she acted the way she did. However, her antics did tend to give a lot of people grief which might be why she wasn't the most popular X-man. After all, scaring the daylights out of the newbies wasn't exactly something that was encouraged, but you had to be careful now days.
Serena’s sentence barely finished and Victoria saw Emerald dash out of the library and down the hall. Smiling the girl tried to run out into the hallway before their four-legged friend disappeared. She managed to spot Emerald turning down another hallway and the little blonde looked at the map where the kitchen was labeled.
“This way Serena! We got a wolf to catch!” Victoria waited for the taller girl and then ran through the hallways in chase of the wolf named Emerald. A slight giggle escaped her throat as she ran.
Upon reaching the kitchen Victoria’s eyes immediately noticed a very tall red-haired female eating an apple. The girl stopped dead in her tracks with wide eyes. She had never seen a girl so tall, but listening to the female talk Victoria quickly understood it was Emerald.
Wait…so she changed during a full moon? She forgot to eat? Was Emerald a werewolf and did she eat people? Victoria’s own fears of her darker side rose up and the girl became a bit less cheerful and started to draw into herself some. It was as if a dark shroud suddenly enveloped the little blonde girl. She simply nodded in acknowledgement to Emerald’s explanation.
Emerald had darted down the corridor before Serena could say anything. Victoria seemed to be enjoying herself and enthusiastically led them into the kitchen. The activity seemed to make Victoria happy so Serena just smiled and indulged the young girl.
They walked into the kitchen to see several chewed up food containers and a , tall, red haired women, leaning on a kitchen counter, eating an apple. Well... that was certainly an odd sight to be hold in the kitchen. The empty containers were normal. But she was HUGE.
She listened as Emerald explained her transformation and her mutation and understood that she was not the only one that had troubles with mutations... She wondered if Emerald had ever killed anyone. 'Cause Serena certainly had.
After Emerald had finished she noticed a drop in enthusiasm from Victoria, who had been bounding with energy mere moments before this had occurred. Serena was worried, had the women upset the girl? She definitely didn't think it was intentional. Emerald seemed to be making/a huge effort to be friendly.
"It's fine, I don't know if you could understand me earlier. My name is Serena, this is Victoria." Serena said with a slightly tired, but warm expression, she was clearly pleased to be able to speak with Emerald.
She turned to Victoria and very gently put her hand on Victoria's shoulder, then looked down on the smaller girl. "Hey, Victoria, is everything alright?" She channelled all of the happy, giddy, warm feelings which she remembered feeling when she had been living with her brother the last few months. Towards Victoria, to make her feel better if something was wrong.
It didn't exactly take a genius to notice that the tone of the room changed drastically. That added to the fact that the body language of both girls changed before Emerald and that spoke to her far more than words. Wolves understood body language and they expressed the most through their bodies. Despite the fact she wasn't a full wolf, Emerald had enough of a wolves mindset to recognize hostility from a "two-leg".
"Nice to meet you both again, easier to talk to you with a human body," Emerald told them, trying to defuse the situation...well sort of.
Then again, she had never been the one that had the best tact so what she said afterwords, while not the best choice had to be said. The feral female turned to the little blonde girl, her own body tensing up.
"Did I do something or say something wrong? Because if I did just let me know. " Emerald told the young girl, taking a slightly angry if not almost parental tone.
This girl looked like she was about Ruby's age when Ruby came to the mansion for the first time and considering Emerald practically raised her baby sister, she knew how to handle younger students.

With both of the older females noticing the little blonde’s change in expressions and questioning her Victoria snapped herself out of her thoughts. Shaking her head she looked up at them both. “It’s nothing. I’m ok.” Looking up to the tall red haired woman. “You didn’t do anything wrong.”
Just like a switched had been flipped the young girl’s face light up as it had been earlier. “It’s nice to talk with you now Emerald! You’re very pretty!”
Serena felt a small glare from her to Emerald when she took an angry tone with Victoria, and had to force it to go away. Where had that come from? She'd only known Victoria for a short while... Hours maybe? And she already found herself getting protective of the young girl.
She placed her hand gently on Victoria's shoulder. "Hey, are you sure you are okay?" She was genuinely concerned for Victoria, she didn't want the girl to force smiles for Serena's sake, she wanted her to be calm and happy.
She looked at Emerald again after Victoria's comment, she certainly was tall... much taller than Serena. 6ft maybe? Or somewhere around there. She turned out to be intimidating in her human form as well as her wolf form... go figure.
Everything seemed to have simmered down and no one was on edge anymore. It looked that way on surface and Emerald really hoped that it was that way inwardly to. There was still a sense of unease within the group but she figured she wouldn't address it. With a deep inhale and exhale her muscles loosened and she felt her body relaxing.
"Don't worry about it, just tell me if there's something up alright? I'm better at reading body language than anything else, I am a wolf after all," Emerald explained picking up the very chewed up pieces of tupperware on the ground.
The wolf woman quickly disposed of the troublesome plastic and the lids. She really did a number on those things. The mansion would defietly have to replace the tupperware soon because this was her third plastic ravaging this week. TH wolf side was getting harder to fight.
"Also, Pretty? I wouldn't say so but thank ya. Do you guys want anything to eat? There is still some fairly fresh deer meet in there from my hunt yesterday." Emerald asked them, pointing over to the fridge.

Giving both Serena and Emerald direct nods, Victoria smiled and gave them both a quick hug. “I’m fine! Really!” The smaller girl looked up at Emerald. “Ok, I will.”
Victoria felt bad that she made the other two ladies worry. She didn’t want them to worry about her. Thankfully Emerald changed the subject to something that took the focus off the little blonde.
Another smile spread over Victoria’s face in response to Emerald. “You’re welcome!” She addressed the offer of food trying not to sound mean. “Oh, no thank you. I wouldn’t know how to cook it.” For now she was good, but if any food was brought out she might sample some just so the other ladies wouldn’t think something was wrong.
Serena smiled at Victoria's happiness. Then she turned to Emerald to answer her question. She felt shaky, but she was fairly sure that it was tiredness more than anything else, odd though, she hadn't really done much more than she normally did during a day, well, she had done stuff she normally didn't, but not in terms of physical activity.
Of course, it could have been emotional and mental drain from the evenings activities... She shook her head "No thanks, I'm alright, not hungry." Serena gave a weak smile, but she was still clearly slightly pale.
She hoped that either Emerald could get her brought fully into the mansion, or at the very least help Serena get some shelter for the evening.
The room itself seemed to be a hell of a lot calmer now that the little one wasn't seething. While Emerald was happy about this, she couldn't help but wonder what that whole thing was about. With a small shrug of her shoulders, Emerald made her way over to the fridge and grabbed an apple from it, chomping down on it with long teeth. Sure that tupperwares' contents were long gone, she was still sorta hungry and she figured she might as well eat some non meat to balance out her meat intake.
"No worries," Emerald told them, considerably more relaxed than before. "So what are you two doing in the mansion anyways? You looking to get settled and all that because we have plenty of rooms."
These girls didn't seem all that bad, just a little uncomfortable like all newbies were. She was even uncomfortable when she first came tot he mansion, but that was for other reasons entirely.
As much as she hated to admit it, the wolf woman wouldn't mind greeting some of the new mutants to the mansion. If anyone knew how hard it was to get adjusted to people, she did and she was willing to help some of her fellow loners ease into the transition.
Thankfully Victoria’s act paid off and the conversation got back to normal. As Emerald was the only one who was hungry that subject was passed over rather quickly. Victoria watched the tall red haired woman while she munched on an apple. Part of the girl was actually happy she didn’t need to eat normal food as it would seem that Emerald had a tendency to clean out the fridge.
Victoria’s red eyes sparkled a bit as she responded to the new question. “I’m already settled in here. I’ve been here for a few days now. Mr. Holloway showed me around and everything. I’m just trying to help Serena now.”
Serena smiled at Victoria's comment. She was glad that the younger girl had decided to help her, even though she had only been here such a short time. She gave Victoria's shoulder a gentle squeeze. "Thanks Victoria, even though you haven't been here for that long, you've gone out of your way to help me, I appreciate it." She gave the young girl a very warm smile.
Serena turned to Emerald. It was getting quite late wasn't it? She guessed that Victoria wasn't really supposed to be up this late, it probably wasn't that healthy for someone so young to be. Serena was at least relatively used to it, waiting up for her brother after his long hours at the station.
"Hey, Emerald, have you got the time, I guess it's probably getting quite late, and if anyone who is supposed to help me out with this whole joining the mansion thing is asleep, I really wouldn't want to wake them." She said to Emerald.
It looked like one of the girls was settled in already, while the other on the other hand wasn't settled in at all. Not that it was all that surprising, The mansion staff could be a little lax when it came to introducing new students. Heck, she jumped the fence when she first came here and no one did anything about that.
It was hard being the new kid, possibly no one likes you, you wander about aimlessly trying to find your way. It was tough, to be new but interestingly enough Emerald wanted to make it as easy of a transition as possible.
"I can help you out, there's a room next to my sister's and I's room that's completely abandoned, you can go there if you want to," Emerald offered, "I could always point you in the right direction of you getting registered with all the right people. I'm not exactly a member of administration."
Feeling the gentle squeeze on her shoulder coupled with the compliment Victoria was liking Serena more and more. She was very friendly and accepted the help from the younger girl. That made Victoria smile big. “You’re welcome Serena!”
Emerald mentioned an open room for Serena to have and to help find someone to get the new girl officially into the mansion. Victoria was liking Emerald as well. Maybe the little blonde would make lots of new friends here. She hoped so anyway.
Serena smiled at Emerald's offer, but felt slightly awkward. She wouldn't really feel comfortable staying in some random, empty room at the mansion. She did still have some money, though, she could probably find a hotel. She frowned at the thought of going back out into the night to find another place to stay.
She turned to Emerald. "Thanks, but I'd feel too awkward just sleeping in some random, empty room. I think I'll just have to head back into the city and find a hotel, then come back in the morning to find the staff to ask about arranging something here."
Serena had suggested it, but she still didn't like the idea of going back into the city, partially, because she knew that she would end up with flashes of her brothers blood soaked body, left lying in that alley. And she honestly didn't think she would be able to handle that.
