The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Hey all! This is a thread where anybody with a character can join in. This has no bearing whatsoever on actual RP, this is just a bit of fun that I thought up. Basically, in this thread all characters are children. This means aged around 8-10. There will be a few exception, but I'll come to them later. This thread is set in a playground, complete with sand pit, slide and swings. If you want to add anything else, then feel free, but nothing over the top. This is a basic, run of the mill playground, nothing special about it.
Rules:
1) Your character may be exactly as s/he was at that age, or you can choose to have them already have their powers to make it a little more interesting.
2) There are no enemies here! You may be a bully if you wish, after all, these are lots of small children grouped together, so it's bound to happen. But no physical fights, we're here to have fun, and that means all of us, not just the big kids.
3) If your character is over 30 or 40, then you can choose to be a big kid. These are 12 or 13 year olds who are kind of supervisors to the small kids.
4) If you character is under 15, you can choose to be a very small kid. These are around 5 or below, so they still retain the 'I'm the little one' persona.
5) The kids know each other as well as they do in RP, at the point where you make your first post. If after that your character in RP learns something new about someone else's character, they don't automatically learn it in here.
6) We'll assume that it's one constant day. No changes in day/night, that just gets complicated and distracts from playing.
7) Use common sense! I shouldn't have to explain this part...
8) Have fun!
Ok I'm now going to start it off, feel free to get dropped off by parents at any time
IC: Takumi stepped into the play ground. He waved goodbye to his grandfather, and wandered around. He was surprised to see no kids here yet, but they would probably be here soon. He pulled out Hasoku, and started practicing, able to sense where everything was when he focused. He wasn't sure how it worked, or what happened when he did, he just knew that it worked.

Teddy's parents dropped him off at the edge of the park, and he waved until they were out of sight. Then, he made a bee-line for the swings, but stopped short when he saw another kid playing with a knife. Cool. He wandered over, and was surprised to see the other kid was wearing a blindfold. "Isn't it harder to see like that?"
Mia wandered in past the iron gates, her foster parents didn't really care what she got up to also long as she was away from them. She had just been wandering round when the creaking of the swings from the playground had caugth her attention. When she came in she saw two boys, one of them was practising with a knife, the other one had admiration written all over his face. She momentarily abandoned the swings and wondered over.

Takumi had sensed both kids as they had entered the playground. He had ignored the first one, he seemed innocent and unimportant. The girl, however, there was something about her. Where the boy seemed to be overflowing with emotion, she was more of a... void. Interesting. He slipped the knife back into its sheath, and walked toward her, ignoring the boy completly. "Hello there. My name is Takumi. What's yours?
A green corvette pulled up next to the playground the door flew open and lil' Geo stumbled out cause his dad had just pushed him out, The door slammed up and took off away from the playground. He turned and stuck out his tounge at the departing car. He straightend his small demin jacket and headed through the gate and saw his buddy Ted. "Hey dude," Hey yelled and ran over.

Teddy pouted as the asian kid ignored him. Fine. I don't care about his stupid knife and his stupid blindfold. Then his whole modd brightened up again as his friend arrived, Tristan! "Tristan! Hi!" He ran over, "You want to go on the swings?"
The strange boy with the knife walked over to her, she had stopped and was slightly tilting her head in a questioning fashion.
"Hello there. My name is Takumi. What's yours?
"Hello Takumi, i'm Mia" she politly answered, she wanted to ask bluntly about his blindfold and whether he had always been blind but she knew that was rude. "Where did you learn to use that" she aked instead indictaing at the knife.
(OOC i might be able to include natural ability with knives, hmm)

He suddenly remembered to bow as his grandfather had taught him, and with his hands at his sides he did so. He then shrugged as she indicated the knife. "It was my grandfather's, he gave it to me. I always have it with me, whatever I do. It's called Hasoku." He was proud of his knife, largely because at his size it was more of a short sword. He wore it at his hip, and thought that it looked really good.

(OOC: Seeing as Hunter aged 12 would be from the 1500s trying to fit him into a modern day playground would be too challenging, so I’m just going to have Shield come and play)
IC: Michael wondered into the playground. Looking around he saw a blindfolded boy with a sword type thing at his hip talking to a girl and two boys heading for the swings. Guessing that the blindfold was for some sort of game he wandered over to the boy and girl.
“Hi,” he said cheerfully, “I’m Michael. Are you guys playing a game? If you are can I play?” He liked playing games, and ones with blindfolds were always fun, so he hoped they’d let him play.

Teddy grinned as he followed Tristan toward the swings. "Bet I can go higher!" Teddy pushed off, and swung back and forth, trying to get as high as he could.

The Lupin sisters never really liked comming to daycare, espically since that meant they werent aloud to bring thier robot toys with them.
Sapphire was particulary cranky about not being able to bring Reginald with her. She held her younger siblings hands, squeezing them a bit.
Now Ruby wasnt normally the adventurous type but when she saw all kinds of toy cars and other electronics her little eyes widened as she was first to break the chain of her sisters. The young girls fox ears were perked up curiously. SHe ran ahead of her sisters, and straight to the toybox and began examining the toy car's parts. She sat down in her short clad legs with her pink t shirt that had a robot on it, examining the thing
When Ruby took off though, Emerald wasnt far behind following her sister worriedly, just in case if she would hurt herself but when she didnt that gave a chance for her ot explore. She pulled on her overall's slightly, tugging at her green t shirt underneath it. The little wolf girl pressed her hat a bit more on her head as she watched the boys swing.
From what her mother said Emmy was not supposed to associate with boys that looked mean. These boys didnt look mean at all to the eight year old. Her tail wagged back and forth curiously as she glanced back at Ruby, making sure she was okay. When she realized her little sibling was fine Emerald walked up to the swing next to one of the boys and began to swing back and forth.
"Hiya I'm Emerald!" Emerald said, trying to get the swing higher.
Kitra stood sullenly at the entrance of the daycare. She had just been dropped of by her sitter. And daycare usually wasn't fun, but this one was new. She looked at the kids already there and smiled. 'Maybe she could make new friends.' She grinned and ran inside and caught sight of a pretty dark haired girl and ran up to her.
"Hello, I'm Kitra. What's your name and do you wanna play with me?" She said this very fast for she was really excited. She felt like this girl was familair to her, unlike the kids at her school. Kitra was bouncing slightly on her heels, waiting for an answer.
Isabel stared sulkily after her car once she'd been dropped off and it drove away. Her parents had been dropping her off at a lot of daycares and playgrounds ever since she'd been removed from school due to a little incident with her newly manifested powers. Since then she didn't get to spend much time with her parents anymore. It's not like it was her fault or anything, it just sort of happened. Giving a little sigh she turned her brown-eyed gaze over to the play equipment, all thoughts of school and parents vanishing and a smile crossing her features whens she saw the things she could play with and the other kids that were already there.
She tugged at one of the little green bows that were tied into her pigtails thoughtfully for a moment, as if contemplating what to do first before she began walking, her strides rather short and at times uneven as her short legs carried her. Seeing as the other kids were already forming groups, Isabel made her way over to the young girl with the red dog-like ears, looking at her quizzically for a moment. "Whatcha doin?" she questioned curiously, giving a smile once she'd reached the girl.
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
