The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

I don't know if you have noticed but i have had a lot of decreased activity lately and in combo with schoolwork there has been something going on. My boyfriends grandfather has been living with him for quite a while now and as of last week he finally passed away. I've been trying to help him deal with things and it has been difficult for me to deal with. As a result my muse has decreased significantly and while i will be posting It will be a slow process for a bit until I can get back on the horse so to speak because at the moment I do have a lot on my mind. I will be back posting soon I just figured you guys would want to know why ems been super slow other than the thesis thing.
It was a mighty quite night, by New York’s anyways. Nothing too bad seemed to be amiss and the amount of sirens that were going off seemed to be in an all-time low for a nighttime in this city. Maybe it was because the whole Riot thing was lessening or maybe it was just some strange days that the stars aligned and people were given a chance to rest for once. Whatever the reason things seemed to be quite for once, which suited Emerald just fine. She ran to work today in her wolf form, but now she was taking the time to walk home in her human form, not really giving a damn about what she ran into. She wore a pair of white wash jeans, her leather biker jacket, with a green long sleeved shirt underneath and her steel toed boots.
Emerald’s brisk pace was interrupted by a very, loud roar, one that immediately caused the werewolf to clutch her ears in pain. While her ears weren’t as sensitive as her sisters’ it still hurt like a son of a gun when she heard an extremely loud noise, especially one that seemed to be so close by. Once her ears stopped ringing, the werewolf took in the scents of the area and did happen to notice a rather big cluster of scents directly south of her. While it was nice to have a night where everything was quite, Emerald would be lying if she didn’t say she was restless with this lull in activities. There was nothing for her to do, no one for her to fight, but with this roar she heard, that whole thing sounded very…promising.
The she-wolf took off in the direction toward the scent, heading straight toward the sound of the roar and it didn’t take her too long to figure out what was going on once she got there. While she wasn’t exactly a mutant rights activists, judging by the scene before her, it seemed that these boys decided to be “Heroes” and take down the big bad mutant. Those blue eyes of hers focused on the punks that she managed to come up behind without detection, irritation flashing in them briefly, but quelling it for now. Without a word Emerald wrapped her arm around one of the guy’s throats, putting him in a sleeper hold, exerting enough strength and enough restraint to cut off his air supply without killing him. Once she felt the guy slump against her chest, she dropped him on the ground in front of her unceremoniously and took a look at the remaining punks.
“Is there a problem here boys?” Emerald asked, tail sticking straight out behind her, fur sticking straight up. Her muscles were tense and she looked as if she was not only ready, but hoping for a fight to break out. Also, if that feral grin with all of her sharp teeth was any indication, she was going to every second of it.
Maybe it was best that the topic got changed, that way she would be able to think of something else besides mauling people. This had been quite a rough week, so she wasn't really able to think straight in the situation she was in at the moment. The werewolf wished that she could just let everything go at times, but with her temperament this didn't seem possible. Emerald let out a low sigh trying her best to relax through this whole thing.
“Alright then what do you want to talk about?” Emerald asked simply, never really being one that brought up conversational pieces very well. “The weather I guess has been nice, if you want to talk about that. Or if you want to bring up the whole, fact I look like an amazon thing, I’m willing to talk about that too if you want.”
The best thing Emerald could really do in this situation was to talk about what she knew. This didn't mean she sounded any less awkward doing it however. This was once again once of those times that Emerald wished she lived among wolves instead of humans, at least then the conversations would be straight and to the point.
The young werewolf caught sight of the girl's eyes zeroing in on that wagging tail and would roll her eyes half heatedly. This was a normal reaction the wolven tail so she wasn't exactly shocked by it, especially since this girl just had a sort of human scent. Not that she really minded, as long as those eyes didn't linger on her tail too long Emerald didn't really give a damn.
It seemed that the young woman had a few opinions about what happened and Emerald listened, not saying anything for a little while. Emerald's blue eyes became trained on the wall in order to keep her calm about it. This whole situation, the only thing she was angry about was the fact that Gina got hurt and the people who did it weren't punished for it.
She wouldn't take it out on everyone else though, the beast inside already did quite enough damage the last time she got angry about it. No one died sure, but that didn't mean this didn't cause problems between both factions. Emerald's ear twitched a little when Sarah talked quitely about Gina, actually hearing what she said. That was the whole thing about having enhanced senses, not a lot gets passed you if you were close enough.
"Hopefully, they won't come for a while, the last thing we need is them talking about Gina as if she's some sort of symbol, for their stupid"Emerald growled out, a slight bit of irritation tinging her voice. The she-wolf took in a deep breath, keeping herself as clam as humanely possible. "I dunno about this damn city sometimes, more bad stuff happens here to good people than it should and it's getting hard and harder to protect innocent people from being hurt. Seems like even those willing to protect others are turning a blind eye to crap like this
The way the wolf woman spoke was that of a weary warrior, someone who had seen far too many battles in her lifetime and not enough victories. Part of her had hope for tomorrow, but it was getting harder and harder to live in a city where there was so much corruption, especially among those meant to protect others. If that trial was to be concerned, the amount of protectors in this town was going down and the amount of takers were going up.
Out of all the things Emerald knew about, the thing she knew the most about was how people really couldn't be trusted in the City. New York City might be the city of dreams but if someone wasn't careful it could easily be turned into the City of Nightmares. Out of all the places Emerald had been in America, New York City was easily one of the worse when it came to the manipulation of those less fortunate.
If there was one thing for sure the wolf woman would be dammed in hell if she would let the younger girl go wandering around New York City alone, no matter what age she was at. Hell, the only reason Ruby ever ended up wandering the city alone was because she snuck out or because Emerald gave her a tracking device. Luckily, Serena was saved from a stern talking to by Victoria offering the girl to stay in her room for the night. If there was anything Emerald could do, it was sigh in relief at that offer, her body immediately shaking off that tension she was feeling. Sure she hadn't known Serena that long, but it wasn't like she was going to let her wander about aimlessly in New York. Just wasn't safe and at least if she had a room at the mansion she'd be comfortable and happy.
"She's right," Emerald began as she leaned back against the refrigerator, blue eyes focused on the two girls "We would much rather you be here than anywhere else. No matter how old you are, being in New York, alone at night isn't always the best thing. Besides' there are people who love just messing with others. This place is filled with far more jerks than it should be. If Victoria didn't offer you her room I would have gone with ya to where you are staying and made sure the perimeter was safe."
Once again, The wolf woman had only known Serena for a little while now, but if she honestly didn't want anything to happen to her. Maybe it was just in the Alpha Female's nature, even if it was she didn't care, she wouldn't allow anything to happen to someone if she knew there was a way to prevent it.
The beast ran and ran for what it seemed like hours, it's paws crushing the ground beneath it, avoiding any, cars or people but managing to smash a few abandoned buildings along the way. The most interesting thing about this beasts trek was the fact she was deliberately avoiding people. While she was enraged, and filled with such a beastly lust for destruction it seemed that nothing Nothing seemed to be able to catch her.
It took her a while but she had now reached the edge of the forest, preparing herself to dive head first into the fir trees. Blue eyes, clouded with hunger gazed into the forest, feeling the overwhelming presence of the world of nature from within. It was one of the few places that this creature truly felt at home. The beast sniffed the air, it's mouth open, tasting every fabric of scent in the air.
"Food" The beast thought, it's mouth agape, drool dripping down s from her massive maw.
The wonderful scent of a nearby deer was ruined by the scent of something else from the road. The beast's pointed ears twitched, it's entire body tense with anticipation as that bolt of energy was fired at it. She leap out of the way, nearly skidding into some nearby trees as she landed.
With all four paws on the ground, claws digging into the loose soil the beast bared it's fangs at the creature that hurled that thing at her. Every single fur covered muscle seemed to twitch in anticipation as her eyes zeroed in on Forte. The Beast didn't move though, not a muscle, her tail stuck straight out, her teeth were bared but she didn't move, she just stared with those blue eyes of hers, staring at the young man and his machine.
The young woman that addressed her seemed nice, which was good because every once and a while, there were some people that came in here that were less than pleasant.
It wasn't just some of the humans or mutants debate, oh no there were sometimes even political debates that went on in this place and she would always have to interfere. At least tonight seemed like a quite one, which meant a boring night of course but maybe it wouldn't be too boring if she had someone to talk to other than the surly Moe.
"Sometimes, it honestly just depends on the night or when the stars align correctly, something like that," Emerald remarked, tail lightly wagging back and forth. "Most of the regulars are probably out getting themselves worked up about all that crap going on right now. While I'm not one to talk, acting like a bunch of fools won't change the situation that happened."
Emerald seemed a little exasperated at that last compliment, she knew that it was probably true. The people here were very opinionated most of the time so if they were anywhere tonight, they were probably out "protesting".
That'll work, that way they get to see what the other is capable of to a certain extent. Besides, Emerald would be more than willing to stand up for someone getting bullied and just beat the crap out of someone for doing that. I can have Emerald stumble upon whoever is getting harassed because people may or may not tend to stay away from Em sometimes.
So, sometimes in life, you get a feeling, deep, deep down in your gut about something that was going on or something that was happening. At this very moment, Emerald was having one of those feelings and judging by the body language of the poor kid in front of her, she was likely scaring him to death.
Good Emerald thought with an absolutely devilish grin. The wolf woman shook the young mans hand firmly, her strength showing in that grip of hers. She gripped him just hard enough to hurt, but not even remotely showing the full extent of it's strength.
While Emerald wasn't heartless, she did know that one of the best ways to get someone to listen was through fear. It wasn't good to do that if you had a pup or something like that, but when it came to some kid that was trying to woo your little sister, that was something else entirely.
Who knows he might try to be her mate one day and because of that, Big sister Emerald had to make sure that this guy was going to be a good fit for her little sister. Even if he was a good fit in this strange future dream they all had, that was not a guarantee he would be a good fit now.
"Take care of her tonight alright? I'm trusting my little sister to make good decisions and I'm trusting you to treat her like the precious little lady she is," Emerald told Miles, that grin still plastered on her face. However, this one was a lot more threatening, like a wolf staring at the next lamb it was going to eat.
"Emmy! Don't be mean to Miles! Remember I can hear you through this door! Ruby's voice rang out clearly from behind the bathroom's door.
Emerald let out a sigh, her body relaxing a little. The redhead still wanted to keep her eyes on Miles but she knew that if she did anything too drastic, Ruby would never forgive her. The werewolf flopped onto the green sheeted bed in the room with a low grunt, acting disinterested in the whole thing but occasionally glancing at Miles. Her little sister meant everything to her and she would be dammned in hell if this guy did anything to mess with that delicate little heart.
Today was a work night, no not work day, work night. While Emerald didn't always work at night, tonight was an exception, she was getting called in to make sure nothing happened to the dinner. The place had been getting a considerable amount of flak since the Riots started. It was good that they called her, because if someone did come in looking for some kind of trouble, she would be there to put a stop to that crap real quickly.
The she-wolf stepped into the dinner with her sneakers, a ratty t shirt and a pair of jeans, all of them looking quite worn, but considering what she was doing tonight she wasn’t exactly worried. Her clothes had been ripped while she was fighting before so if she wore any of her good clothes and those got ripped, she wouldn't have any good clothes to wear anymore. After all, she didn't own that many pairs of “good clothes” anyways, it would be a shame if she lost them. The last thing she wanted was to go out shopping again, too many people tended to stare at her, made her want to punch things.
Emerald slid up to the bar, hopping onto one of the stools with practiced ease. The wolf woman had been to this place so many times, she could practically navigate this place with her eyes closed. It was great for her job, but it did make her worry if she needed to start going to different places other than Moe’s Dinner.
The werewolf glanced around, scoping out the place she was going to be at for the next several hours. There was virtually no one here other than herself and another girl who didn't look like she was going to cause any trouble. Maybe tonight would have been a nice night, nice and calm for once.
“Yo,” Emerald greeted her other dining room compatriot, deciding not to be completely silent this whole time and try to be nice.
She honestly might be a good companion for my character Emerald, who needs friends and tends to push people away in general due to her sometimes hostile behavior.
It seems that they have a lot of similarities in their personalities. Both highly independent, have protective instincts (Em's borderlines to obsessive due to her Alpha mentality),ride motorcycle and are visible Mutants. Emerald being visible wolf mutant, able to turn into her wolf form at any time.
For months, this place had been locked as tight as a swiss bank account vault. This particular ring of Human trafficking had one hell of a hidden place based around it. People were careful, that much was certain and the majority of the fighters had no idea what was really going on here.
Multiple crimelords from across the city would bet on these fights and one might notice, if they were connected, that one in particular, Lawrence, the young Upstart from a match several months ago had his star fighter coming here too.
The investors were of course nervous about this, they had seen what this particular fighter could do and they knew if they didn’t go all out on training their people they would be out of luck. Various crime lords had already been toppled by this upstart, him betting everything on this fighter which meant they were already obliged to do the same, real question was, how was this going to work.
In the middle of the Open chamber, Lawrence, that young upstart, had his fighter introduced first, only because she had insisted being apart of this. He knew exactly why she was here and why she wanted to fight in this particular tournament. In all honesty, he was happy because this gave him a chance to go after bigger prey and even if she got what she wanted in the end. Emerald stood there with the upmost confidence and didn't even look like she was looking at the other contestants that were coming into the room, it was like she didn't even know they were there. All she wanted, was to start this tournament.
