The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

AVRanger, or as I call her FemmeRanger, has been approved and I'm looking for some threads to get my posting legs under me and get her established before universe hopping is the thing.
She works for NYPD in the Emergency Service Unit (ESU) which is the unit where officers cross train to aid in emergencies. Units like SWAT are in this unit. She is in a Special Response Team (SRT) which is like a SWAT team except they patrol like regular officers and when an emergency arrives they have the gear with them to try and handle it before the SWAT team can be mobilized.
So her responding to a call about someone terrorizing the city is possible.
She also does a lot of PT outside of work and likes to go to dance halls and clubs in her free time.
Feel free to reply here or PM me if you're interested and or have ideas.

Mage
I just got AV Amber approved. Ambrosia is a somewhat niave, mostly pacifist mutant rights activitst. She's also a faeria who changes into a tiny dragon. She works in a Pagan store and openly offers information and resources to other mutants in need. Want to come save her from a violent assailant, either a anti-mutant bigot (or group there of) or a mutant(s) that take issue with her trying to mend bridges between mutants and humans?
That could work, Amber. I see two ways to go about it. 1) FemmeRanger is on duty and either hears the incident or responds to a call for service either Amber of a passerby makes. 2) FemmeRanger is not on duty and hears/sees it happening.
In the first instance there would be an arrest (or arrests) and all that goes on with that. While most of it could be sped through in a line or two just stating she drove the perp(s) to the jail. She would need to get a statement from Amber and all that fun procedural stuff (as well as do the scene where she gets Amber coffee like you would see in a police procedural). This would be a chance to roll with FemmeRanger under the color of office.
In the second she would detain the perp(s) until another officer showed up to make the real arrest(s) and haul them off (and doesn't need a supplement from FemmeRanger). Following which anything could happen.
