The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Glitch shook her head. If the wolf boy was her, she would have apologized out the wazoo. But, his way of dealing with people was very different from hers. Nothing could be done about that.
As far as she could tell, the animal control lady wasn't completely satisfied. “Fine. But one more thing before you two go.” Wide-eyed, Glitch watched her pull out her tranquilizer gun. “I wouldn't have known the wolf was you. It would have been serious if I accidentally shot you with this. You understand?” Yep, she was rather... passionate about the issue.
Glitch stayed silent and kept nodding. Lying tended to get harder the longer it was kept up, so she just wanted to end the conversation there. The wolf boy, she wasn't so sure about.
Physically speaking, Glitch was okay. The plating on the forearm was trashed, but the wires and gizmos underneath remained intact. She could still use the arm, and it was the least of her worries.
However, she still struggled to process the previous night's events. Seeing the stranger fall victim to a feral personality aggravated her distress over her own family's situation in one of the worst ways possible. Even though the Doc Prof insisted that she rest, the robot girl couldn't sleep one bit. She'd spent the night plugged in, but wide awake.
Glitch sat quietly on a bed in the infirmary, her damaged plates already removed and in hand. This was where the Doc Prof said to meet the metal worker. He'd be hard to miss. Not many people had pink hair.
So far, so good. The wolf boy was antsy, but cooperating – at least for the moment. The animal control lady was tapping her foot, wanting an explanation ASAP.
A small, nervous gulp played on her speaker before she spoke. “You see, we ran into some drunk guy. He started screaming 'mutie' and stuff. My friend here was just trying to get away,” Glitch lied. Hopefully that story would win sympathies, especially those of the tracker mutant's. Thank goodness her robotic face was harder to read.
“So yeah. He's sorry.” She tried to nudge the other teen forward. Hint hint, wolf boy.
Glitch screamed as the wolf man lunged at her. She backed away, but not fast enough. His teeth clamped down, and she could hear the crunch of metal. Painless, but nonetheless terrifying. Seeing her arm in his jaws, she had to agree with the other girl. The wolf man was too far gone.
This called for new strategy. With her free hand, she tried to grab his snout. It wouldn't be a strong grip, but maybe, just maybe, this would keep his attention on her and off those who'd bleed if attacked.
This couldn't be happening. It was like reliving a nightmare. When the alien man swung the pan, she closed her eyes. She couldn't watch.
Glitch crossed her arms and nodded. “Yeah. Mutant.” Probably should have mentioned that earlier. With all the META bots around, mutant wasn't always the first conclusion people reached.
She stared at the boy blankly, bombarded by the string of questions. “I... don't know most of those. Like, I can do the same things other people do online, and I know I need repairs when I break, but I'm not super smart or anything.” Though, being mistaken for a genius was kind of nice. Complement taken.
“And hold on. You can make them play cat videos?” (Which, admittedly, would be pretty funny to watch.) “Just what is your power, anyways?” Whatever the mutation was, the fact that a little boy had a power that could control her movement was scary, almost as scary as it would be if the mutant was instead an evil adult.
The wolf guy's expression was ominously familiar. She'd seen a person very close to her become a monster before, so she sadly knew the look well. It was a terrible state; she couldn't say so enough. No sense of right or wrong, no distinction between friend and foe, and the only thought in mind survival. God, she hoped that was just the pain talking.
Why Glitch was standing there, calm despite the situation, was a complete mystery. Calm was good, though. She'll take that over panic. Cautiously, she approached the wolf man again. “Hold my hand.” She offered it, avoiding sudden movements. There was no telling what he'd do, but as long as there was a human there, she wanted to reach it.
Glitch's night had been quiet. Until she heard a commotion in the kitchen.
“Oh my God!”The sight was among the most horrific Glitch had ever seen. Blood was everywhere. The wolf guy was in tremendous pain, his words so distorted she could not understand them. The alien guy was trying to hold him still for the Doc Prof. Then there was the knife. Oh God, he got stabbed?
Glitch tried not to panic. God, things were horrible. She had no medical knowledge, no idea what to do in that situation. But, God, seeing the wolf guy hurt, she couldn't bear to stand and do nothing.
She rushed in. “God God God God...” she repeated over and over again, fumbling with the roll. So much blood. Shaking, she attempted to help the alien guy hold the much larger wolf man still. "H-here." God, she could almost feel the pain from that wound.
It'll probably be a couple of weeks before we could start anything, but I'd be happy to have a thread or few. Given that they're both visible mutants, I'm sure Tyson and Glitch would have some things to talk about.
Glitch cringed at what she was seeing. You couldn't just mouth off to people with badges, even if they were only animal control. That could get you arrested, she knew that much. Situations like these called for finesse, more than this seemingly socially inept wolf teen was apparently capable of.
An idea was starting to form in Glitch's head. “Play along,” she whispered to the wolf teen, sighing a bit. She wasn't even sure why she was helping him. Maybe it was plain mutant brother/sisterhood.
She turned to the animal control officers, who were glaring at the wolf teen intently. “Sorry about him. He's a little on edge. I can explain.” She gave him a sidelong glance, attempting to ensure he didn't say anything to dig himself into a deeper hole.
Glitch couldn't see nor hear the META bot. Darkshift believed they'd lost it as well. Finally, they could relax. Tired, she dropped to a sitting position. Able to feel or not, the robot girl wanted to find the world's softest bed and collapse into it.
“Never get in the way of one of those things again,” she joked with a light laugh. Heh heh, that was bad, but Glitch couldn't resist. “Seriously, I don't want to tangle with a META again either. Messing with it was kind of satisfying, though.” Stick it to the man – er, bot. Yeah, that's what more people needed to do.
This child had Glitch seriously worried. Something about him was off. Mainly the controlling of her with his... whatever his power was. Didn't his parents tell him that controlling others was impolite? Wait, probably not. They weren't there stopping him that instant. Plus, that kid mentioned something about being alone at home while his father worked. Big fat “F” for failure at parenting.
Then there was his excessive interest in her programming and machinery. Glitch suspected he was willing to go beyond asking questions to learn more about her. It was enough to make her shudder. If he wanted her to prove her sentience, she was going to try. Anything to avoid the vivisection.
“What can I tell ya? My name is Glitch. I'm fifteen years old. I like video games -well, any game, really. I grew up in San Diego and moved here three years ago,” she spat out.
Her red eyes darted between the boy and the street. “Does that all count as proof?” Cautiously, she edged towards the sidewalk. Best be ready to risk the rain if the answer was “no.”
