The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

through the many many eyes of the moth, pix watched this scene play out. her little moth self grinning at the new action and play. Petunia gardener had no idea of the gruesome scene that was playing out down the hall as her minions tragically inhaled Bug killing spry cast on them by, what was to them, a giant one armed bully. None the less, as long as their legs still twitched, erratically or controlled, the mass was struggling to move forward. The front line fell back. Slowing down to the chemicals of bug warfare. Though instinct kept them struggling to move on, even in their dying breaths and twitches. Their comrads behind them, began scurrying over the falling friends. The comrad's fresh speed adding to the slowing speed of the dying friends and the marching bugs became a mound that grew, managing to let the bugs on top pick up speed like a rolling mound of snow or dirt down a hill.
It was true. The bugs were dying and leaving a trail behind them, but Petunia's bugs were as sensitive to chemicals as she was making them survive longer. The bugs on the outside of this rolling mound protected the bugs within, and while it was true, that they were loosing their ranks and leaving a trail of dead and dying itchy twitchy limbs, it was a small loss to pay for the swarm in it's entirety.
Mean while, back in the room with Aura...
”Who are you?”
”You with her?”
Petunia fluttered down from the middle of her swarm following Sam's movements. A few of her fellow lunar moths fluttered behind her making it hart to tell witch of them was in control. petunia liked it that way. Letting a few stray moths stay out on the outside of the mass that gathered on the ceiling that rest above the floor between the two mutants. "I've never really seen her before." Petunia lied. "At least we've never spoken." Petunia and her smaller band of moths circled around this hero's head and shoulders. "She's clearly messed up though." Petunia let her voice buzz through the mouth of the moth.
Aura was talking like she was in some sort of RPG game. The type people use to get out their fantasies. It was as if Pix and the rest of the orphanage was stuck in the middle of a sci-phy convention. Then Aura decided to charge. Pix made a split second decision. It looked as though Aura had a good target on this hero so Pix was going to provide her with some cover.
As it they had been startled by the sudden movement, Petunia's bugs fanned out away from the ceiling. Making a fluffy like clowd of lunar moth wings around Aura's body and specifically thickening around the side of her weapon as Petunia instructed her moths from over this hero's shoulder. Making sure she had a view from his eye level so it didn't look like she was specifically trying to hide the weapon from his view, with the dispersal of the rest of her mothy minions. "Watch out!" Petunia cried in her little mothy buzz of a voice that was a little easy to loose in the commotion, Just before The moth that was pix shot up in the air to what she hoped would be safety.
"I am over her Solkat, keep an even spread, the others are dead"
Petunia blinked. Ok so that wasn't really what Pix had expected. She took a minute to figure out if the response was really meant for her, or not. petunia took a moment to figure the answer to that question out, filling the silence from herself for a moment, with the sound of herself sucking the last of the contents of her coffee. Petunia didn't hear anyone else respond to her on that last remark. so that answered her question.
She took a moment to think on what this told her. It seemed that this person either thought that petunia was someone else, and only acting like this for the joy or what ever job. The other possibility was that she didn't actually know what was really going on. Petunia's older brother was in the asylum. Petunia had seen things like it before on her visits. Some of the confusion at the asylum was started by her but the result was the same.
"I'm on it." Petunia called back. playing into this little game that was going through the other girl's head. Petunia paused for a moment as one of her spiders had sucked out a good portion of blood from the body Petunia's bugs had been toting behind her. The body was shoved off to the side, as the spider scurried after Pix's heals, climbed her boot, up her leg, around her back till it reached her shoulder and went across her arm into her hand where she daintily held it between her thumb and forefinger with her pinky sticking out. From there, the spider was crunched between Petunia's teeth.
”AURA!”
OK so apparently someone knew this girl. Petunia had only heard her voice so far, and while it sounded familiar, Petunia didn't really put a big emphasis on knowing every voice of every person she had ever talked at. The voice had come from Behind Pix and with Aura clearly unstable a head of her, and Someone who had a really big voice behind her, she decided she didn't like the position. Immediately Petunia seemed to have disintegrate into a large colony of lunar mouths. Petunia's cloths were stashed behind a door, and Petunia and her group fluttered over Aura's head, close to the ceiling to Aura's other side. petunia didn't even notice Koga, down the hall the other way, or the kids that were now hiding. Though her biting bugs, once she was out of range and un able to tell them what to do, would find the kids and do what bug's instincts say to do.
The short child like young woman with straight black hair, and slanted green eyes was just starting to feel the buzz from her special coffee drink. The triple shot mint mocha with Carmel, peanuts, chocolate chips, whipped cream, and cinnamon was hitting the spot. Petunia glanced sideways across the street where she was enjoying her drink, where there were a large amount of screams suddenly erupting.
Huhh. Petunia checked her watch where the little date read under the time, around small stickers of rainbow bright, with a Scooby Due head part of another sticker sitting in the palm of ranbow bright's out stretched hand. It wasn't quite close enough to Halloween for haunted houses, that were that good, to be set up yet. So petunia Gardener decided to investigate.
The loopty loop straw stuck in the top of her Styrofoam cup was tucked lightly between her lips as Petunia strolled in. Eyes glancing right left, and flicking up and down as she started making her way inside. She passed the first body, stepping up on the body's rib cage as if it's just a simple stair, and stepping down.
Well that body would have to be taken care of. Petunia pulled up her sleeves where bugs had already started forming in her skin. first as bumps up and down her arms like giant mosquito bites. Then little itchy legs extended through the centers of the bumps and bugs popped out of Petunia's skin like weeds in the smooth mowed grass.
Spiders started climbing down to the ground via petunia's legs and down their own lines of webbing till they reached the floor and scampered over to the first body. Starting to either bite it, or wrap it in a web so the body started to look like a mummy. Herculean Beatles scurried out from under Petunia's pant legs and started shoving the body, rolling it like a rug, behind pix, as she followed the latest screams. "Helllooooooooo."
One of the two men that had come up to Pix seemed to have no problem with personal space. Or having a lack there of. Petunia noted how close he got to her to stare at her, er... bugs, before he realized this and went to step back. Petunia braught her hand up to shove him slightly on the forehead, lightly.
"Uhmm yeah sure, always willing to help."
“Just what kind of help do you need, lady? People visiting the mansion usually wear more clothes…”
Clearly one of these two men were a lot more willing to help with the other. Note the way that one was much more willing to get close to pix. oh and the way he looked at her.... er... Bugs... Then note the other who chose to not back down but also not really get close and the skeptic tone to his voice. Oh yes. Very skeptical... "I thought you people here were supposed to be more open minded." Petunia said with a head tilt in the first man's direction. "Don't people have trouble like this all of the time? The only reason I'm garmently challenged is because of my mutation, witch is what I was going to ask for help with."
oh Petunia liked this man. she liked him a lot. If she couldn't get him to kill himself for her enjoyment on the bridge, then maybe she could just keep talking him into doing dangerous things till he did go splat, just like one of her bugs that she loved so much and at the same time, were so replaceable.
Petunia nodded, Smiling brightly now that her idea sounded so good to this young man. "Some of them have had the horns removed, but they still charge and generally look bulkier. horns or no horns, 2000 lbs of bull powering down on you still hurts. I mean, there's a chance that you could get crushed alive!" Wasn't that wonderful? Petunia with held a giggle from escaping through her lips.
Petunia's heart started racing at the thought of coming along for the excitement. She liked the idea a lot and now that he was so open to trying things that would make him live more, she wondered if she could talk him into going out on other adventures or dares, should he servive the current one.
"Of course I'd like to come with you." Petunia's happy face twisted into a lop sided smile and her eyes widened on her next thought. "Oh" She practically jumped as her shoulders stiffened with the excitement of the next thought. "Would you like to make this little evening a little more interesting?"
"Ah Life and living." What a boring response. Stupid too if you asked Pix. "How philosophical of you." pix Said as she passed his shoulder giving him a nice hardy thwap between the shoulder blades that was normally a symbol of good job.. .. .. Well it was hardy for her. she had almost no upper body strength.
Petunia landed on the bar, light on her feet. Her wings only buzzing or clacking now and then to catch her balance because for some reason moving them took less energy than moving her feet. And having wings were pretty damn cool. you have to admit that. Go on. Admit it's awesomeness!
"What I'm doing here." Petunia said with a flourish of her right hand indicating the bridge then herself. "I was just joyriding on the inside of a, errr.... Truck." Petunia's hand poved up above her head and she darted up off, to hover four of five feet above the metal, in the air to indicate the size of the truck. Of course Pix neglected to mention that she was actually riding in the rear view mirror of the truck. that would just be absurd. And involve a little more explaining of her powers. Trust me. things were just easier this way.
"hey. If you really want to live, I know this farm a few miles away. They let the bull sleep outside with the cows. Cow tipping is like Russian roulette. That could be living."
Playing innocent was entertaining, and boring at the same time. Pix was starting to do things, that she would sooner eat another person for and it made her sick. so that's why she was doing what she was doing today.
Petunia had discized herself in one of her common bug forms, a house fly, and with a herd of other house flies, to nestle together in hopes of keeping herself warm, she'd hitched a ride on the right rear view mirror, of a duel cab pick up truck. The shell like holder of the mirror protected pix, and her companions from the harsh winds the truck picked up, and gave her shelter from the cold it caused as well. Mean while the elevated view gave her a good idea of where the truck had recently been and how fast they were traveling. The views so happened to include the man on the bridge that the truck war rumbling over, about to end his own life.
Oh hot Jimmity Coool! and perfect timing too. In this little tiny body, Petunia was starting to feel hungry. Fast metabulism equals a tiny creature that must snack often.
So petunia and her flying followers zipped out from the cover of the mirror. It took a moment for her wings to catch up with the inertia of the truck, combined with the wind, witch made her fly backwards for a few feet before she had full air born control. Then she made a B-line for the shoulder of the said individual who seemed about ready to end his life. The flies followed her, skimming their wing tips around him to make them selves annoying, and they waited...
and waited...
and waited some more....
Oh come on and go splat already!
Well then. Petunia would just have to try and help this one along. Petunia's tiny little fly body contorted for a second or two before she zipped behind this person and the bug form began to grow. only the hint of Petunia's shadow, cast over this individual, showed him the change, just like, thanks to the fence, She was hidden from the people driving accross the bridge, except for those in very high trucks. Within a few seconds there was a girl with long dragon fly wings, hovering behind him. her black hair floating on the breeze that the wings picked up, and her slanted green eyes blinking, to get the moisture going, that a fly's eye just doesn't need.
in mid shift, The fading fly shell bubbled, then moth wings broke through Pix's flesh, just by pushing through it, and the pores of skin stretched, to let them through, then shrank back so no one would ever know something came through. The moths formed a design over her, with their different colors so it looked like Pix was wearing a long sleeved leatard, or a fancy ice skating outfit. her toe nudged the man in the shoulder. "Aren't you done yet?"
Petunia sat on her ledge of the fence, with her hand still over the lens of the security camera. however the need to hide her self became less and less of a thought at the front of her mind. Or at least the need to practice hiding herself from a single camera, and the fact that the lens smply made a nice handle became more evident as she tilted her head this way and that, over the top of the camera, then leaned over so far her head was nearly upside down, to look underneith. Searching for the best place her bugs would be able to enter, and what bugs would be able to fit best through witch corners. it seemed here that mostly small bugs would have to be used. The tiny type, and even then, it might take them a while to slip through anything that was meant to keep out rain water, or weather elements in general.
Petunia leaned a little further over looking like she was about to do a nose dive off of the side of the building before her gigantic dragon fly wings buzzed and clapped to catch her balance and pull her back up to a seated position. Her head rose and her mouth formed an oh of surprise. Eye brows rising for a second, then pinching in pretend confusion.
Apparently they do actually watch the security cameras. petunia thought to her self but that also the fact that it had taken someone so long to confront Pix was a positive in her mind. Under the right cover, she could have planted something that would lead to a hole lot of fun, around the mansion, with fairly little trouble. That was information enough really, but her pixieish little mind wanted to know more. it's what kept her from bugging out right that second and just fluttering innocently away.
"hi."
Petunia's lips pressed together. She wanted to grin braudly but the grin that she was holding back was more like a happy cat that just ate a canary. She let her lips relax into a small smile before pushing off of the edge of the wall, and letting her dragon fly wings catch her mid way down. Setting her vertical body lightly and gracefully on her feet at the wall's foot. A trail of moths fluttered off of the moth substituted clothing, that basically gave the appearance of of someone wearing a fancy ice skater's outfit that just happened to crawl, and Petunia let a trail of moths flutter behind her, in hopes of giving the illusion that she wasn't in perfect control of her little friends. "Er, Hi."
Petunia's chin dipped and her lips pressed together again. keeping her eyes slanted up. There didn't seem to be any recognition on this young man's face from her last visit to the mansion. Her eyes darted to the second young man approaching. "I was wondering if either one of you could help me with something."
So far, today Petunia had turned herself into a multitude of bugs. The Mosquito form had drank it's fill from a toddler. Anyone can steel candy from a baby. It takes a really sick person to steal blood. And unlike a doctor, Petunia didn't need a needle. Doctors, Evil.
From there, she turned into a fuzzy bumble bee, and mingled with a group of potted flowers that had been stacked on fire escape outside a tiny apartment. The pots blocking the path to the ground to safety, should a blaze occur, but the flowers proved to be a fragrant delight. Petunia ended up jousting with a thin hummingbird then driving the animal away with sheer annoyance and eye gouging. Petunia drank her fill of nectar, then it was off again.
Life was always an adventure when you were as tiny as an insect.
Before long, petunia had drifted along on the wind, in the general direction of the mansion. As soon as she recognized the land scape from the last time she had been on the mansion grounds, her little fuzzy be body shot straight up in the air, about ten feet. Her wings snapped against each other then clattered into her normal bee buzz at the sudden stop in her elevation. Through multiple eyes and dirrections she was able to triangulate her position from the mansion, and darted into motion. Making a B line straight for where the x-men gates would be located.
Once outside the mansion gate, Petunia shifted again, into a monarch butterfly. Because according to Bart Simpson, no one suspects the butterfly. She flopped back and forth on the air, just outside the mansion gates for a minute, then pulled her wings together to slip in through the iron rods. Dropping a few inches before her wings opened again.
It took Petunia only a minute or two to discover a security camera on the fence. it only took her a split second to decide to tamper with it. Petunia positioned her little butterfly body so she was at the bottom of the camera lens. Her wings covering the lens as they folded straight up. Once the camera was properly blinded, petunia shifted to her human form. As her butterfly wings started to grow, petunia placed a forming hand over the lens to block the camera from looking at her. Her skin wings went from having orange and black coloring, to looking rather see through with a black stripe down a thrid of them as they took on the shape of Dragonfly wings. only much larger. large enough to lift her short thin body off of the ground.
And speaking of her body... A bug couldn't exactly cary cloths. The black shell of the butterfly disintegrated into petunia's pail skin. Replaced by soft brown, tan, and green moths to keep petunia looking modest. her long black, straight hair slipped over her shoulder as she began to examine the security camera that was currently in front of her. Not really caring if another one from another angle was still seeing her. Green slanted eyes examined the cords of the camera. petunia shifted on the wall so that her legs were dangling on the inside.
Now. What team of bugs would be the best tool for dismantling this toy?
Pix followed orders and walked in a perfect line step by step, right next to Syn. Professional with a snap in every movement that showed her own confidence even though she only maybe came to Syn’s shoulder.
At the secritary’s desk, Petunia smiled as politely as possible with the way her eye’s crinkled at the corners. Syn gave her orders and pix added some orders of her own. “If you have information on the friends of his wife, and children that would be useful as well.” As long as they were going this far why not go all the way. Torturing one person was fun but a crowd was much more useful. Especially a crowd that knew each other. Plus it gave these people more things Pix, errr ah. The Order, could take away from him.
Petunia grinned at her old little manipulate. Pictures of pix from years ago looked exactly like pictures of her now. Not even new wrinkles had formed on Pix’s smooth face as her smile made slender creases from her nose to the corners of her mouth with the news of Cailyn’s father having no more power. She could only imagine what the girl had done to him, or wanted to imagine. Torture didn’t have to be something physically done, and that was something that Pix had grown to love about Hymn’s power. Something she once enjoyed trying to manipulate while guiding her and protecting her.
“Oh I’ve been up to pretty much the same old same old.” The tabloids had let her keep her identity hidden from the public, and she’d managed to keep it hidden from everyone else. “I do some hobby story writing, and last year, I bought another horse.” Because horse flies need something to land on and eat. “His name’s LocoMotion, and he’s drop dead gorgeous. Though he’s loco too. He chased one of the other horses into the fence a week ago.” He was a lot like his mommy Buggs. “He doesn’t play nice with others.”
Pix's wings buzzed again. and she lifted off of Cailyn's nose. The bee darted around her her head, then off to about five feet away where she transormed into her human self. Minous propper cloths, but before anything that would be considered unmodest was formed, butterflie, and moths made a sort of design of cloths. They looked like a stylish skating out fit or dance leatard, when Pix had fully formed them. Reds and yellows swirling with a bright blue sort of butterfly making designs, that pix had long since memorized how to make without looking in a mirror.
"Well friend. If you want, I can pull some strings where he can get a job that he can easily be watched and tracked." Pix offered. She did have connections in the papers after all.
Pix stopped as she was asked to, in the whole accusations. Even her own thought patterns were starting to make her head spin. Witch for a bee, a spinning head doesn’t feel good. Especially when flying. The little pix bee made a couple of tight circles, and then dropped down on Cailyn’s nose.
Mean while Cailyn went on and Pix seemed to perk up at the news of Cailyn conquering her father. Men sucked after all. “Really?” She buzzed in her high pitched voice. Pix shifted her little bee body so that she was standing on the side of the big lady’s nose and looking right into her left eye. “How did that feel?” The little bee’s front leg made the best bee fist it could as it pounded down on Cailyn’s nose. Probably making nothing more than a tickle. “So he won’t be bothering you anymore?”
Pix was staring at the Penny. Why offer her a dead penny when the lay should know full well that Pix couldn’t use it. Then the images flashed in her head and the Bee dropped a good two feet, in a fast spiral before she recovered. “What the Hell!” Came the high pitched squeak.
“No. nononononono you’re not. My Cailyn doesn’t act like you and if you can do that then you can just pull images out of my head you psychic crazy thing… you” Pentunia’s rant was short lived and she thought up another thought. “However if you can go into my head you can see how Cailyn is supposed to act.” And how Pix had tried manipulating her. Scary thought on the whole knowing of manipulatons. But to finish the first thought… “And you’d be acting the way she was supposed to act, so you could be her, changed. Or you could be trying to make me thing you are her changed.” The bee zipped closer to Hymn’s face so the lady would have to cross her eyes to see Pix right in front of her nose. “Either way, I don’t like it!”
