The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Daniel relaxed a little as she calmed his nerves. She'd done this before and he wasn't exactly sure what to expect as she washed out her mouth and rinsed her hands. He stood his ground, not wanting to move incase she needed to do something specific. When she approached him two feelings emerged; what the hell am I doing? and what the hell is She doing? When she mentioned touching him, he assumed she'd hold his hand or something like a psychic but what actually happened was...different than that.
She'd warned him before hand but he didn't really have time to process that before she kissed him and it wasn't like the sort of kiss he gave to his Mother whenever he went home for Christmas. No. This was a different kind of kiss, not one that he particularly didn't enjoy mind you.
The man was standing by his car. It was late at night, the street lamps were on but no-one else was in the parking lot at this time. The man whistled a tune quite unrecognizable from any other tune imaginable but he continued quite happily. Completely unaware that he was being watched. As the man turned to unlock his door a shadow appeared over him and he turned around slowly. "Please! Please no!" The monster in the memory raised his arm up and spoke in a deep not-quite human voice. "Trust me. I'm a Doctor."
Daniel wasn't sure about this. Sure he'd just helped her out but did he really trust her to go rooting around in his head? He couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at her but he did want to know what happens to him when he blacks out. He'd wondered since they began and he's wondered if the voice in his head had anything to do with it. "Noel...I'm not sure about that..." but the more he thought about it the more it made sense
Surely Noel wouldn't destroy any memories of his would she? She didn't seem like the type and Daniel had just helped her. The Doctor rubbed the back of his neck and swallowed. "Okay but I'm trusting you here. Please don't..mess anything up." Daniel was entirely trusting her now and he felt a pain in the back of his head as if something was trying to warn him off it but he was going to do it anyway.
Daniel raised an eyebrow at her. He'd been completely prepared for her to leave and never to make use of the numbers he gave her, no girl ever made use of the numbers he game them but then she asked him a strange question. "No. I don't think we've met before, you might of seen me on the street once but I've never spoken to you before now." Sure she said she forgot things but not knowing if they'd met before was one thing for sure.
The Doctor felt like she should explain. "It doesn't happen very often. It's been getting a little more frequent lately but it's never happened at work but when it happens other places I have no idea." Daniel laughed it off as if it was nothing but when he walks down the street and wakes up in his home, it can be quite distressing. Infact it's very distressing but he just assumed that he would walk home, maybe a form of sleep walking or something? He couldn't explain it. "But this isn't something I should bore you with, it's not like you're a specialist in memory." Daniel smirked and chuckled slightly at himself. He seemed to be doing that a lot.
Daniel smiled as she took her medication not waiting to ask for water or anything to make it easier. She was clearly in need to get rid of the pain and he could understand why. She thanked him and his let out a small chuckle. Daniel took the paper from her and wrote his name down on it and he gave it back to her. "Don't worry, I forget things too. Sometimes I forget complete hours." Which was kind of true. He wasn't going to tell her about the 'blackouts' that seems to be increasing in frequency. He hasn't told anyone about it, it only happened when he was alone so why would he need to?
Daniel watched her slide off the table and he nodded towards her. "Unless there is something else you want you're free to go. Remember to rest, nothing too strenuous and nothing to do with your ribs and hopefully next time I see you wont be for business." Daniel wasn't exactly sure what he was saying but he said it anyway. He didn't want to see her back her with as bad injuries because well...He'd hate to have to treat her again.
Daniel smiled as she leaned her head on his. He continued to make the 'ssh' sound as if trying to coax a baby into going to sleep. His smile only brightened when her breathing calmed down. "It's what I'm here for, no need to be sorry."Daniel watched as she cupped her head in her hands and he ran a hand through her hair. He was going to make sure she's okay and then he'd get her the medication.
Daniel watched her and spoke once again. "There's really no need to be sorry. Well as long as you're okay, here's my numbers." Daniel walked to his desk and scrawled a few digits on a small piece of paper. "That's this office, my normal office and my cell if you can't reach me on the other two...You know just in case you are in any more pain."
Daniel shook his head and immediately the shoving incident was forgotten as he walked over to fetch the pain medication she'd require to help with the fractured ribs and general pain. He lifted them up and read the label, yeah it was fine. Nothing would go wrong from now on. "Don't worry. I'm not usually like this I'm a surgeon the rest of the time. I don't really know what's gone wrong today." Daniel was about to give her the meds and let her be off but then her breaths started getting shallow.
Daniel spun as fast as he could, placing the medication on his desk. He was actually going to help this woman no matter what. Daniel got eye level with her and looked her in the eyes.Watch her. See how her eyes glaze over as she runs out of breath? See how he life is slowly drifting away? Is it not magnificent? Daniel could do nothing to stop the voice but he could do something for Noel. "Noel..Everything is going to be okay. Listen to my voice, everything will be fine. Relax. Daniel spoke in as a calm tone as he could, he couldn't let her panic it would only make it worse. Daniel made various 'ssh' type noises to help calm her. If she relaxed her muscles would loosen and she would find breathing a lot easier and hopefully he'd be able to help her and give her the medication. He'd probably need to say sorry to her later....Somehow.
Daniel wasn't expecting being shoved by the attractive if not very sensitive woman. His body didn't know what was coming and as such he moved back slightly from the girl and once the initial force of the shove lessened he moved back on his own. The Doctor then noticed the tears in her eyes and his words couldn't keep up with his head. "I..I..I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to..I was just attempting to...What I'm trying to say is. I didn't mean to cause you any more pain than was needed and I'm sorry that I did not ask permission to check that injury and reached that far up your shirt." Wow. That sounded bad even when trying to make it sound better. Daniel opened his mouth again to try and change his statement but wasn't sure how to do it.
Daniel shifted on his feet slightly, he didn't notice it but it felt like he was back in high-school...He didn't even want to remember the time he was thinking of. Daniel played an awkward smile of his lips as he looked back at her. "Are you sure you don't want me to look at it?"
Daniel stopped dead when she said no and to be honest he was a little relieved. He didn't want to have that awkward silence when you're checking over a disrobed person's injuries but he was a surgeon so surely he could handle it. "I'm so sorry. If it was up to me I wouldn't be having to do this." Daniel laughed slightly to himself and he went about thinking how would be best to do this.
Daniel held the edge of the piece of fabric in his hand and lifted the back of her shirt up to inspect the damage, from what he could see it didn't look very good, there were scrapes here and there but it was her ribs that he really wanted to take a look at. Daniel made his way to the front of her and smiled. "Excuse me Noel, if you don't mind." He wasn't really asking as he lifted the front of her shirt to just below her bosom as to allow her some dignity. The Doctor put his hands over the ribs that were clearly bruised. He could feel them quite clearly but he tried not to hurt her too much. When he felt her however he could pretty much tell what happened. Daniel also noticed something else, he didn't catch most of it but he needed to check the injury anyhow. He lifted her shirt a little higher completely oblivious to what he was actually doing. He ran his hand over the medical gauze that covered the injury just about to remove it and check what kind of injury it was when he noticed what he was going and he just stopped dead and eventually lowered her shirt slowly. "...I'm so sorry."
Daniel was up as soon as Noel had sat on the examination table. He looked at her neck and back and put his hand on it gently. Due to the positions of the injury it was unlikely that she would be able to reach it. He stepped back and grabbed some tweezers from the tray by the examination table as he began picking small pieces of glass and plastic from the neck wound. She'd been hit by a car apparently. "I'm sorry if it hurts ma'am but I'm Doctor Daniel Booker, pleased to meet you." He wanted to keep her talking and take her attention away from the small sharp pains caused by pulling out shards of glass.
Surely the damage wouldn't be isolated to her head and neck. She was hit by a car, he'd be surprised if this was it. He had damage on her arms and so her back had likely received some injury too. "Excuse me ma'am but they way you shuffled onto the table. Could you take off your shirt please? I'm betting that you have rib or back injuries and I'd like to take a look at them if that's the case." Daniel was trying to sound a professional as possible, he never liked asking people to remove their clothing but if he sounded professional and cold surely it'd be fine and not awkward.
Daniel smiled at the girl and turned around. "If you'd like to follow me." He could tell she must of had atleast some injuries, no-one could coat that much hair with that much blood without having a few cuts. He walked through and finally arrived in his 'office', it wasn't as nice as the one back at the hospital but it got the job done. He tapped the Examination table and signaled her to sit up. "So what is it exactly that's hurting you? What's the cause of the injury?
The Doctor couldn't see many injuries on the face of it but there could be possible internal injuries. Maybe some injuries on the back of her head. Maybe her spine or back. There were plenty of different things that could be wrong with her. He never really like treating women because sometimes it involved touching and he didn't want to do something accidentally that made him come off as creepy.
Daniel was working at the Free Clinic today, what else could you do when you have medical training and people are getting hurt left, right and center. The clinic hadn't opened long ago but he's had to deal with all sorts of this, stabbings, bullet wounds and a junkie or too asking for medication but he's shooed them off, luckily they were the begging kind and not the violent kind because he couldn't deal with that. The Doctor called in his next patient and a woman and her son walked in.
Daniel smiled as they entered and helped them as well as he could. He didn't have that much medication to offer them but it should clear up that cough well enough and then they'd be fine. They'd be fine until they need him again and he'd make sure he was here when they do.
Daniel stood from his seat and wandered to call in his next patient. He walked out and noticed the young woman sitting, blood in her hair, clothes crumpled and what looked like a taped tissue on her arm. Maybe she'd had a needle in her arm recently. Daniel smiled and approached her. "Ma'am. Is there something you need?"
Daniel flinched as he heard the hissing come from her hair and snakes appear from her hair to defend their host. He could only imagine they would be linked to the green woman who he didn't know her name. "Ma'am..My name's Doctor Daniel Booker." To be honest he was confused too but although he was confused he was getting less and less distressed by the minute as she didn't seem dangerous. "It's okay, we can work this out together. I'm just as confused if not more confused than you and I don't doubt what you saw." The Mutant Doctor put his hand in hers and squeezed lightly. She seemed to be in distress and this was the best he could do. What if the one who attacked her came back? He couldn't defend himself very well. He was a Doctor not a fighter but he had to keep face for this woman.
He couldn't of attacked her could he? Ofcourse he couldn't this was all some big misunderstanding. Maybe he was sleep-walking and she thought he attacked her? That was possible right? Maybe he sleep walks but hasn't noticed it that would make sense right?
Daniel raised his arms to defend against the objects sailing across the air at him. Just as his eyes were about to fix on her's once moreNO! Don't look at her! Daniel's eyes immediately fixed on the ground. He wasn't sure if that voice was real but it warned him, perhaps it was his conscience or something warning him? He listened to her and none of his questions were answered only more were created. Why would he attack her? He doesn't attack people. He helps people everyday, why would he attack anyone? Not again. Not again. Not again. His thoughts became words as he thought through what he remembered. "Not again. Not again." He'd blacked out before but he'd never hurt anyone during his episodes and they never happened at work. They mostly happened when he was all alone at home. "I don't remember a thing. Last thing I remember I was home and in bed...I don't attack people..I'm a Doctor.."
Daniel watched the mutant woman sob and he stood up slowly and approached her. He then sat down in front of her closer than he was before. "It's okay..I'm not going to hurt you." The Doctor put out his hand for her and smiled to the sobbing woman before him. He didn't understand the situation at all but surely he could do his best to comfort her.
The Beast had been sent into his slumber as Daniel emerged into his own body as if waking up from a deep sleep, he expected to be in his apartment but the cold air caught him off guard and as his vision returned, he noticed he wasn't in his apartment. He wasn't in his apartment at all. He was outside. A place he couldn't remember in the dark.
It was then he noticed it. A woman struggling to her feet and before he could question her as to what he was going here or even think about the fact that she was green and on the ground. That when it hit him. Literally. The strikes were relatively weak but quick and it caused Daniel to raise his arms and attempt to block as many as possible. He wasn't really getting much pain from the strikes but it was the kicks that really got him and they hit him right where it hurts. He heard her speaking but it all sounded like gibberish between the hits he was taking. She wanted him to be nice? He was nice! Or atleast he always tried to be.
Just as she collided with the ground as did he. Several groans escaping his lips as unwanted tears rolled down his cheeks. He hurt. A lot. "Why? What did I do to you? Where am I? And who are you?" The questions came out quickly and in-between groans as he lifted himself up to look at her. His pain was slowly edging away. As the Doctor sat up however he noticed his shoulders has various claw marks on them and there were still bleeding slightly. What did she do to him? Daniel backed away from the girl, not sure what she had done to him or why he was here.
Daniel wasn't paying much attention when he heard a voice but when he heard the man ask if he was here to save lives, Daniel looked at him and a small scream escaped his lips. He liked Mutants but when suddenly confronted with one so...changed it scared him a little. A confused sound escaped his lips as he was led towards the golden doors. "Wait! No! I'm not here for work!" Then the words hit him. I'm sure someone's hurt in there. He needed to help people if they were hurt right? Mutant or not, he needed to do it. "I'm not a Mutant! I'm lost...But I'll help if someone needs help whether they're a mutant or not."
Daniel swallowed a lung full of air. For all he knew he could be killed for just being in this part of town. A pressure built in his gut. Little did Daniel know that The Beast was ready to attack if Daniel was put in danger because if one of them goes down then the other does too.
