The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Daniel continued to smile at her. She was happy and it seemed contagious or maybe it was the drink, either way it was good. He was ushered out quickly as she locked up and he watched her, unable to begin walking because he didn't actually know which direction it was. She linked with his arm and led him down the street. He watched his step and allowed her to lead him to her apartment which sounded a lot more exciting if you didn't know the context.
The lights seemed even brighter with alcohol in his system and he tried not to look directly at any lights, which was difficult in a city that never sleeps. She decided to tell him that her place is messy and sighed a little. "How could I tell? Don't worry, I'm sure I can help you clean up at some point. Assuming your this hospitable when you're sober." He continued to walk with her and then she stumbled, he tried to stabilize her and she managed to stay upright. He held her around her waist from where his hands went to help her and he smiled and linked his arm with hers again. "Alright, let's just get you to your apartment before you fall on your face."
The little one asked a lot of questions. Questions that people don't usually ask. She was brave and for some reason Beast felt that she might just deserve an answer to her curiosity and maybe just maybe she wouldn't get a threat this time. But that was only a possibility. "I enjoy it." That was really all that was required wasn't it? He didn't need to explain himself to a child. He loved the rush of death as it coursed through his veins.
His purple-skinned body stood once again as he turned to look at the girl. She was out of reach so he'd have to move to get her now and if she was telling the truth about her mutation, she was not to be trifled with...for now. She also was not effected by the slaughter like most were, she has seen it before which suggested she had some connections. Now he was actually thinking he was beginning to work this out.
The heavy breathing sounded in the darkness. The Beast's large silhouette extended down the alley as he saw the White-haired one move from her Cab. He hadn't been watching her too long, just from the moment the cab stuttered and the driver left the scene. He would of moved on but she left the cab and began to walk. White hair was an unusual trait and he felt like it was some rare game that he must hunt and collect the pelt of. He watched as she held her phone is the air, most likely looking for signal.
The Beast hid in the darkness, awaiting his prey to come closer to her demise. She wouldn't know what hit her. When he gets close enough, he was going to reach out and grab her by the throat, lift and push her into the wall. He wanted to make eye-contact with her. He hoped she was a screamer, perhaps she was a crier. He liked the criers and screamers the most, not that there wasn't pleasure in making someone for terrified they're silent but hearing their terror brought a new dimension to it. His rad eyes glowed slightly in the darkness watching the girls every movement, how she walked, how she sped up her movement. She was already frightened.
Daniel frowned slightly and shook his head. "No, no I couldn't. I don't want to bother you." Although it did sound like a nice idea. "Plus I hardly know you." He did want to accept it though and as he looked into her eyes it looked like she meant it and he looked down. "It's really not a good idea..." This was a bad idea, it was a really bad idea
He looked up and his frown slowly turned into a smile. Whether it was the alcohol and poor judgement or her kind offer he didn't know, it could of been all three but he eventually spoke up again. "Okay, I'll sleep on your couch. I guess some female company would be nice, last female company I had was my Mother. He laughed slightly as he exaggerated, she wasn't the last female company but the last was far too long ago.
Daniel drunk what was left of his beer when she asked her question. He put the glass down and turned to her. Thinking what he could say. He couldn't be honest could he? She'd probably panic. Call the cops. He couldn't let that happen, he needed to lay low but she seemed trustworthy. Perhaps she'd understand, perhaps she wouldn't but there'd be only one way to find out.
After he thought over it for a while he started slowly. "The Police will be looking for me.." He didn't want to just blurt out what he'd done it was a lot to take in for him, no matter what someone else would think. "So I can't go back to my apartment because...I've killed people." He instantly regretted telling her the moment he said it. He began to stand up and he just said. "Yeah, I think it'd be best if I go. I'll find somewhere to sleep."
Beast stared down the young girl and moved to the side near the dying man. She was young. She didn't pose any form of a threat and as such should be allowed to live for now. She will die eventually whether by his hand or another. It was always the way. "Very well young one. You may pass by me for now." Beast then turned and bent down towards the dying man who had slipped into unconsciousness from blood-loss probably. Beast watched him to a moment before reaching out both of his hands and snapping the man's neck. A quick death, putting him through any more would be of no use if he was already knocked out.
The Beast bared his teeth slightly at the girl as he spoke. "I'm not afraid of you little girl and I'm not scared of your 'family' either. No-one can intimidate me." The Beast didn't back down. He wasn't scared. Fear was for the weak. He was strong. Stronger than a girl. Stronger than a Human. He was getting stronger. Everyday. Every death. Stronger. Beast didn't care who this girl's family was. He was The Beast, he'd escaped certain capture. He'd killed people, humans and mutants alike for a long times on these streets.
This 'M Cartel' obviously didn't care about his night-time dealings and so why should he care about their boundaries or who they were connected with. Who he killed was his business. No-one had a say in it. Not the Cops. Not the Victims and certainly not a little girl. He heard the gurgling from the man behind him. He was going to die slowly. Very slowly indeed.
Daniel smiled and laughed a little as she joked. "I should hope so, otherwise I've got some explaining to do." The Doctor took another gulp from his glass, mostly to avoid rambling and saying something stupid. He looked at her as she searched for something to talk about as he peered around the bar. It was a nice enough bar, perhaps he'll come here again. Especially if all of their bartenders are as pretty as this one.
She asked her question and he thought hard about it. "I've been a doctor for.." His mind was getting a little fuzzy already, how strong was that beer? Then again he didn't drink often so it wasn't exactly surprising. He leaned forward on the bar slightly and stared up at her. "..Uh..Well..A while. He couldn't seem to remember the number of years. He'd wanted to be a doctor ever since he was young. He'd done all the training and he was a surgeon or..was a surgeon. Currently an out of work Surgeon. "What about you pretty lady? How long have you been doing this?
Daniel was, to be honest, amazed. Water. The same thing that made up most of the world and also was inside him was being manipulated with such raw skill. She was amazing. The stuff of Gods to be perfectly honest. He'd seen mutants before but that was on TV, the X-men. None had decided to demonstrate their abilities so close to him before in this kind of situation. He watched the water move from hand to hand, his eyes following it. Daniel smiled at her and then she asked about him.
He shook his head and spoke "No, no, no. I'm not a Mutant. However there are things I can do. I can stitch you up if you get hurt, I can cook for myself, I can do a lot. Trust me." Daniel said it with a smile on his face as he was quite clearly running out of things to say coming to the end. He winked at her and smirked. Deciding if he can't make a serious point, he'd flirt with her a bit.
Beast felt the slight breeze make contact with his face although he dismissed it as a gust of wind making it's way down the alley. He stood to his full height as he listened to her. Her lack of fear was mildly..disturbing to say the least. She asked whether he could speak and his only reaction was. "Why shouldn't I kill you little one? Give me one good reason." He took a slight step closer to her, he was well within grapple and clawing distance. He'd happily turn this from a double murder to a triple murder if this girl didn't provide a good reason.
He'd never killed a child before, his mind wondered if it'd feel different from the others. Did age even make a difference? She was still either human or a human-looking mutant so she deserved the die either way, it just would depend on how long that would take.
Daniel watched her flick her lighter and he smirked. She could do whatever she liked. She was old enough to make her own decisions and at the moment he wasn't the best person to be giving out life advice was he? Then she asked what he'd be doing with his free time. "Well, I'll probably go into bars just before closing time and speak with attractive barmaids who call me attractive. Seems to be working so far. He took a few more sips from his glass and turned his attention to the TV along with her.
The Riots. He'd been at one of those a few months ago. The New Broadcaster was probably having one of those stories they show when there's nothing important to report on. He continued drinking as he watched it for a while before turning to her. He noticed she used the terms 'we' and 'us'. So you're a Mutant? What can you do? Or is your mutation... He put a hand to his chin and rubbed it for a second before continuing. "...A mutation that makes people think you're crazy attractive? What was he saying?! Normal Daniel would not allow this, he'd be far too nervous to say this. I guess that's what so good about alcohol.
It appeared that he was getting a drink for free tonight. He wouldn't complain. She seemed nice enough. It was then she assured him of the bad things people do and he couldn't help but believe her. She said it like she'd done some bad things herself bur he doubted it was on the same scale as him. He'd killed atleast four police officers and he didn't even know how. He wasn't trained and he definitely wasn't stronger than them. Daniel shook the thoughts from his head as he looked at Charlotte infront of him after she'd introduced herself. "I'm Daniel and I assure you, I'm not a creep.
Daniel flashed her a quick smile and then looked up at her, speaking automatically. "Well, smoking increases the risk of Coronary heart disease by two to four times, the risk of Women developing lung cancer by thirteen times and is linked with Acute myeloid leukemia, Bladder cancer, Cancer of the cervix, Cancer of the esophagus, Kidney cancer, Cancer of the larynx, Lung cancer, Cancer of the oral cavity, Pancreatic cancer, Cancer of the pharynx and Stomach cancer..." Daniel looked up to her with a slight smirk gracing his lips before he just said. "But go right ahead. I don't mind. I'm a Doctor by the way." He offered up the explanation for his knowledge.
Daniel watched the attractive barmaid put her hands up in surrender and he chuckled a little. Sure she was cute but that's probably why she was hired, it also explains her quite clear positioning of her body. She may of also cheered him up slightly with that. He watched her as she poured him a glass and dropped an orange into it. Daniel looked at her for a while and brought the glass to his lips, taking a sip from the beer. It was good for beer. "So, how much do I owe you for that?" The Doctor rifled through his pocket and lifted out his quickly-thinning wallet. He wasn't making any money and he would run out of savings eventually.
The Secret Murderer then heard her ask the question he suspected she didn't really want to ask."No, I didn't get fired. I've done a few..bad things. Really bad things. I think I should lay low for a while, get out of my apartment and get out of work for now until I fix it." Daniel took a few more gulps of his beer and then a few more and the stirring in his head calmed down. He looked at the girl and smiled slightly at her for the first time since he came in. "So, what about you? How's working around here?" He attempted to change the subject and deflect it away from himself.
How was he? He was a secret murderer while also being a trained Surgeon. He was Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde in real life. He tore people to pieces and he had no control over it. He was confused. He was clearly some kind of Mutant, that much was obvious by now but was it his mutation that caused the uncontrollable murderous rage or was it inside his always and just manifested when he 'turned'. These were things he may never know but he couldn't exactly tell the barmaid that could he? "How am I? Well I can't go to work, I can't stay in my apartment for much longer and I've got more than one person breathing down my neck. So I'm not doing too well.
Her next question. He couldn't help but sigh at. She leaned on the bar and his eyes could help but wander slightly down her shirt and he couldn't help but let out a half-laugh but not one of happiness, more one of pointlessness. "Does it really matter? Whatever you recommend aslong as it's alcoholic." Daniel really needed to cheer himself up but he guessed when you can't do much and what you can do is the same everyday. It can get you a little down.
The beast inside his was still moving around in his head. He needed that drink for sure and it would be great if he got it quickly. Don't try to block me out! I saved up. Kept us safe. Don't you remember? Back when we were 16?Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! SHUT UP!
Beast stared at the Humans and took a deep breath. The smell of death hung in the air. He was going to savour this. He didn't quite know when the next kill will come along. Just as he wondered he heard a voice. It appears he didn't have to wait long. Not long at all. His head turned to face the intruder and was surprised at what he saw. A child. It was late and there was a child infront of him. This had never happened before!
He'd never had a child interrupt him, how was he supposed to react? So he reacted the only was he knew how. A turned fully, making himself as large as possible as he opened his jaw and let out a long bellowing roar. His claws still dripping with the blood of the innocent. If she was normal then she would leave. He didn't care who she was or where he was, these were his kills. He needed this and no-one changed that. No-one jepodised that. Beast didn't know of the Order nor did he care. He didn't belong to anybody and he certainly didn't want anybody else stealing his kills. Not after last time.
