The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Daniel walked to streets. It was late but what else was there to do? It'd been a while since his run in at the Riot, the Police would soon be after him if they weren't already. He'd stayed at his apartment since then, slowly but surely looking for somewhere else to stay. He put in his resignation at the Hospital telling them that if his situation improves he'd be happy to come back and continue working there but as it is, he wasn't able.
The reason he was walking the streets; he actually just hoping for a drink. Sitting alone in your apartment, worried that you'll black out and murder someone has a way of getting you down but there was nothing he could do. Who could he see to ask for advice? No-one would help a murderer learn to control his beast inside. No-one. As he walked the street, a light caught his eye. He checked his watch and saw that he had enough time for a quick drink.
As he entered he automatically noticed the blonde. Yes..No-ones around Daniel...She'd sound wonderful would she not? Daniel put and hand to his head and shook it. He still dressed semi-professionally, he wore a shirt with a few button undone at the top and he also wore some black trousers with black shoes. He decided to sit at the bar seeing that no-one else was here and he sat quite close to the blonde but not too close. "I'll take..I dunno. Just give me a beer." Daniel didn't drink often but tonight, he needed to drown out the voice.
The Beast was slightly more careful. The last time he tried to feel the rush of death enter his system in an Alley, a Police Officer had heard the scream however it was 1AM, no-one was likely to be wandering down her while he was busy. The man he held in his grasp was gasping for air in his grip. A dark smile stretched across Beast's face as ran his claws over the skin of the man. He took his time, it'd be a while. Beast slowly lightened his grip, he didn't want the man passing out before he died.
The Beast sunk his claws into the gut of his next kill. He watched as their eyes began to lose their light. Beast then slammed the body into the wall continually. Cracks and screams combining into a symphony of death that sung through the air. He then began punching the chest of the random passer-by who probably just wanted to go home tonight. Beast dropped him to the floor and allowed him to bleed out.
Daniel was on the run from the Police after the incident with the Blonde and the Asian. He couldn't work and get couldn't get home. Nothing. Which gave Beast a large opportunity to take advantage of to fill his 'needs'. The death of others is a drug and The Beast was an addict and it wouldn't change.
Daniel watched as the Riot gained more and more fuel to it's fire. The Police Officers needed to fight back and that's when the mob charged forwards and the Cops went to counter them. He noticed that the tightness around his body seemed to all but disappear. His hands weren't tied. Daniel's eyes snapped to the Officer who had the key to his shock collar. Out of pure instinct Daniel charged forward, straight into the Police Officer taking his off his feet. As quickly as possible, Daniel fiddled with the key to get if off. He looked towards the Blonde and the Asian and ran.
His feet sped him away. Filled with desperation, he had no idea what he'd do now. The Police didn't know where he lived yet but he couldn't stay there long and work was off-limits. There weren't many options left. He could go to his parents house but he needed to find out just what 'this' was. Why did he kill people? How did this happen? Why him? Daniel took a turn down the street and dodged into an alley. They could of been following him. When he was sure no-one was he made his way back to his apartment. He had some things to think about.
Daniel was strangely calm. He couldn't tell why but he was calmer than he thought he should be. Perhaps that's what happens, when you hit rock-bottom and everything you've build up in your life crashes down upon you, you've only got one way to go and that's up. Perhaps it was the blonde who'd told him that she'd keep him calm. Either way it was kind of nice.
He heard the Police Officer tell the blonde to step away and the Asian repeat it shortly after. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." He didn't know whether he was apologizing for killing four police officers or the idea that just rushed through his mind. He just wanted answers and he didn't want to go to jail to get them. He didn't kill people. He was Doctor Daniel Booker, he'd never hurt anyone in his entire life purposely but all the signs were there. The bodies. The Police. Everything. He couldn't go to jail. Not yet. He needed to escape.
The Doctor noticed the weight be lifted from above him and the surrounding Officers removing plastic bands from their belts and Daniel grew desperate. He needed to leave. He needed to leave now or he was going to Prison. No way would they accept that he knew nothing about it.
As if on cue more people began to pile into the Riot that before now was just the background and with re-enforcement, the already rioting people grew a new vigor behind them. They began to spark up again. Pushing, shoving and throwing. The Police needed to control it again.
The Beast stood and struggled in the bindings but nothing would happen. No movement. As if he was fighting against gravity. He looked around to see Cops converging around him and then he noticed someone else. The blonde woman. She was making eye-contact with him and he felt something strange. He felt as if he was calming. He didn't feel the anger within him anymore, he didn't want to smash or maim or kill. He didn't enjoy what he'd just done to those Cops and that only meant one thing. Daniel. Daniel was there. In the back of The Beast's mind just as he was in Daniel's. They were together whether they wanted to be or not. "No! Get out of my head. Please! I don't want to go back!
A Police Officer approached The Beast cautiously and placed the collar on him. The Beast was calm for the first time in his own body but not for much longer as his body began to disappear and Daniel's replaced it. It began slow. The skin changing colour and the spike sinking into his skin then he began to get smaller. His eyes no longer glowed and the Beast began to sink back into the recesses of Daniel's mind. "No!"
As his eyes came back into focus he could see Police Officers tending to their comrades and giving him strange looks, anger and pure hatred. Daniel knew nothing. He didn't know why he was here. Why there was dead Police officers scattered around him and why he was wearing a mutant collar. He just focused on a blonde woman who seemed to be intently looking at him. Daniel's green eyes met hers and he somehow knew what happened.
What Noel had run away from. What he hid inside him. The Voice inside his head. He had killed these people and probably countless others. He didn't speak he just looked down as tears welled up in his eyes and they rolled down his cheeks. He was confused. He looked up to the blonde woman and spoke. "What did I do?"
The Beast snarled at the Cops as he noticed the blonde female collapse onto her back and out of distraction he dropped his body-shield but he couldn't pay too much attention now as by the time he could think, a bullet came towards him. His eyes watched as it hit the ground and another roar escaped his jaws but when he looked back up. The game had changed. He was trapped, pressure being applied from above and a rope wrapped around him. He couldn't move. He tried with all his strength. He thrashed and bit and snarled like a trapped rabid dog. A sharp pain brushed over his shoulder and he knew it. He was trapped. Out-manned. Out-gunned. He didn't give up however but no matter how hard he pushed, clawed or roared nothing was going to happen. "No! I will strip your flesh!"
As he stood. Still. Caged. Trapped. He had a strange feeling inside him. The deeply burrowed feeling that Daniel was cursed with. Helplessness. It was when Daniel could do nothing to save his pathetic patients but..worse. His life was at stake here. He would be trapped like this forever. Inside a tiny cell. Inside Daniel. Never being released. Never feeling life slip through his fingers. Never breathing again. Being trapped inside the head of a weakling for the rest of his life. For a moment, when faced with his own fate The Beast didn't snarl or bite or roar. He stood, blood pumping hard through his veins that were pushed to the surface by his muscle. The anger he felt never truly vanishing but just bubbling under the surface. That Mutant. He was...strong. Stronger than him. Not possible. Range. Only advantage. Could close the gap and kill.
The Beast was charging towards the Asian officer murderous intent filling his eyes as he saw an officer draw a firearm, The Doctor put his foot out and slid to a stop as he also saw the one he was going to kill also draw his firearm. Beast was out-manned and out-gunned. He spun to face the Officer who'd drawn his firearm before the Asian had but soon realised and turned so both officers were on either side of him and the crowd of rioters stand infront of him. The Beast looked down and noticed he'd stopped mere inches before the trip-wire that could of sliced his legs off.
There was no way that the Beast could deal with all these police officers fairly. He stood and raised his arms and placed them behind his head, he got down on his knees and then laid down. Every breath he took in this position only filled his with more rage. Some police officers walked towards him and as soon as he heard the sound of hand-cuffs being drawn he removed his hands from his back, placed them on the ground and pushed up. The Beast got to his feet. More out-manned and out-gunned than before but strangely more comfortable with it now that the several officers around him were closer.
The Beast reached out and grabbed an officers head and twirled, smashing him into one of his colleagues. Two down. There were two more. Beast plunged his claws into the gut of another officer and tore them up towards his ribs, it was then the last police officer squeezed the trigger and Beast turned slightly using the body still attached to his claws as a shield as the Cop fired. The Shield-Cop may of survived the claws if he hadn't of been shot. Beast used his free hand to swipe the other officer. A crack being heard as he hit the ground. The purple skinned mutant turned to the Asian and the other Officer in the same position they were before. Them on either side but Beast now with a new body shield.
Daniel rubbed his eyes. He didn't really know what to do. He wanted to go home. He wanted to get into bed and sleep all this away. This wasn't a normal night. He could almost be convinced that this was a dream if he didn't feel the cool breeze on his skin. "Sure. I'll walk with you." What else could he say? He couldn't turn her down, he'd just seen her effectively break down. She might of been a lovely girl but he needed to help her whether she was or not. "As long as I get the chance to wash it and cover it, it'll be fine but if you can help I wont turn you down."
He helped her up as much as he could and collected the items she'd thrown at him. "I believe these are yours." He handed her the objects and smiled, trying to calm his image of himself. Daniel walked along with her, deciding he'd better keep the conversation going her asked. "So who's picking you up?" Why couldn't you end her? You stopped me! Why!? Daniel closed his eyes and took a deep breath before he opened them again and he looked to the green woman.
Daniel was confused at first then he got scared. What consequences? Why couldn't she just give him a straight answer? What was so scary that she couldn't tell him? That she had to sneak around the topic. Then she asked him that question. The question he knew the answer to but couldn't seem to find a voice for. "I don't think.." She knew the truth anyway. There was no use in lying to her. "Yes." He couldn't say anymore and he didn't think he needed to. KILL HER! She will ruin everything we've worked for!
Daniel put his hand to his head. The pain was immense. His eyes changed that other colour for a second. Was he losing control again? Was he going to put Noel in danger? He didn't want to. He couldn't. Not here. Not now. Not ever but Beast was stronger than Daniel in every way. Daniel was weak. The Beast was strong. Daniel had emotions and they were what made you spineless, unable to do what you needed to do.
The Doctor took in deep lung-fulls of air and he looked up, resuming his normal self once again. "Noel. Please just be straight with me."
The entire City had an increased anger. The tension was high and that gave plenty of reasons to be angry. Plenty of reasons to murder. Plenty of victims already nervous of mutants and were all the sweeter to remove. The thrill of death wasn't the same as other human 'thrills' if they were worth the title. The rending of flesh was something he was used to. He didn't need a reason to do it.
The fact that he didn't need a reason was what brought him from Daniel's home to where he was now. Watching the humans make their puny demonstration. It was then his eyes focused on someone in particular. It was the Police Officer from the Alley. The one who denied him the rush that he would of felt from destroying that woman. A loud roar escaped his mouth as he ran and leaped off the small-ish building as he charged toward the Asian Police Officer. He had tunnel vision. No-one else mattered. The crowd. The Police. No-one. This man was going to die.
The Beast's muscles clenched and his teeth were bared as he made his way towards him. No obstacle could stop him. The charging monster noticed a woman that seemed to be with his current target, he was going to remember her. If nothing else she was a bargaining chip.
Daniel moved his hand to Noels and held it tightly. He slowly turned her to face him, his features showing his concern for what she'd just seen. "Noel. Please. Just tell me." He didn't know what it was but he needed to know. She couldn't hold it back from him. She didn't have the right to do something like that.
He'd been tormented by this for years and now he has more answers, she's going to keep it from him? Perhaps the voice in his head was connected to the blackouts. You don't need to know. Let me get her. Ignorance is better than truth. The Doctor shook off the voice and focused on her entirely. He looked into her eyes and spoke seriously. "Please. I need to know."
Daniel's eyes widened as she questioned his presence. He was already unnerved by this point, the kiss and just about everything else. The Doctor watched the woman before him, she seemed worried and she tried to escape by saying she couldn't help him. He needed to know what she saw, he needed to know now, before he could of done without but now he needed to know. "Noel. What did you see?"
A low growl sounded in his head. His vision darkened around the edges slightly. Was he going to black out now? Was he going to do whatever freaked her out so much? So many questions, so little answers. Why couldn't he just be normal? Atleast as normal as Noel is and Noel's a mutant. She didn't have a voice that suggested....horrible things to do to people.
Daniel stared at his shoulders. The marks etched into his skin by some sort of sharp implement, the blood hadn't completely dried yet but it was clotting slowly. Who did this? It wasn't her, she was the one who reminded him of it. The Doctor shook it off and lifted himself off the ground.
He didn't know what had happened and he didn't know why but he knew that there was a woman on the ground on the street in the middle of the night and he knew she'd want to get somewhere safely and he wanted to help her. He wanted to make up for..whatever it is that happened before. "Yes I'm fine but are you?" Daniel offered out his hand to help her up.
