The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sorry for disappearing so suddenly. I've been fighting war of the add-ons with my web browser. Everytime I clicked on MRO, shockwave was crashing the page. Still sorting out why Chrome hates me suddenly, but hopefully, posts shall arrive soon. Sorry for delays.
"Nice to...see you too. Wait, who put a hit out on Mirror?" While the x-men didn't make a lot of friends, lately things had been a bit on the calmer side. She wasn't exactly expecting an assassination attempt anytime soon.
Unless Gawain was hanging out with Danny....There was something about a mob she may have recalled hearing. But Gawain's mom worked for a classier organization than that. Well, not necessarily classy, but spending. She paid for her services once herself so that gave her a little information on it.

Evelyn was fine fighting in the dark. She liked letting the echoes guide her without all the distractions you could find using your eyes. So when the lights flicked on, it helped Mirror, but also temporarily stunned her.
Bright bright bright oweeeee....wait,what?
Evelyn stared at the woman before her. Part of her was freaked out by the knife suddenly going for Maya's throat, but the other half was just taken aback by who was holding it.
"...Okay, why is your family member the one wielding weapons at you?" Evelyn remarked in confusion, still slightly on edge in case this was a less than family reunion. Mind control, general bad news happened from time to time with the x-men. You never put your guard down too quick.

Paranoia no. Danger, yes. Evelyn yelped in surprise as the door flew open and someone yanked her into the room. The someone felt familiar, but the echoes didn't have enough time to process it as she tumbled towards the bed. Catching herself, she spun out her elbow, letting the echoes guide her in the darkness towards the attacker. Danger room session kicked in her instincts as she joined the fray.
"Hey! Kids are trying to sleep!" She hissed.
Okay. Maybe not the best response to a midnight attacker, but unless this person was santa, they should know better.
Although, the attacks did seem rather forceful...
[Danger]
Thank you captain obvious. Evelyn tried to figure out what seemed familiar in the brief moment when the door opened. The present was taking away from some of her thinking power though.

The echoes picked up on the quiet thump before Evelyn really realized something was wrong. The noise came from Mirror's room, which was perhaps what caught her interest first. Mirror was usually asleep by this time, but with the decorations for the holidays and stuff, she had been up later taking care of things. As she opened the door and took a walk down the hallway though, the noise seemed a little excessive. She didn't hear Angua either, so that was...odd.
"Mirror?" She called out at the door, reaching for the handle.

T'was the night before Christmas, Or maybe before, When in snuck an assassin, Through the mansions front doors....
Evelyn hadn't heard from her parents since the whole "lets make amends" fiasco. Actually, their silence had disturbed her a little considering it ended in physical confrontation and threats of retaliation. Her father wasn't really know for letting things go, so as the holidays drew nearer, her suspicion increased. Maybe they could just be nice and stay quiet forever. But the echoes, if nothing else, increased the sense of foreboding she felt. As she paced in her bedroom, the other mansion residence sound asleep, something didn't feel right. She never was great at discerning her own paranoia from the echoes warnings though.
While all the dear children deeply asleep, The midnight invader continued to creep, Down towards the room, where a mirrorwalker lay, To complete an assignment, Before Christmas day.

Evelyn tried not to grimace. She wasn't sure she really wanted to win in the "crappy parents" arena, but that didn't look avoidable. She wanted to hope they would change, but some people were set in their ways.
She did smile at Gawain's compliment though, and kissed him on the cheek. "Yeah, well, don't feel bad about it. Maybe we should be glad we don't have to spend Christmas around them. Unless we're stealing from them. Because perks of being a mutant right? Can you imagine what they'd say if they realized what the echoes do now?" Images of her parents distressed reactions to her mental echo intrusions half tempted her to find out. Maybe next time.
"Anyway, nothing to worry about for now. Let's just make the most of the holidays our way."

The laugh faded a little as Gawain spoke, and Evelyn stared at the wall across from where they were sitting. She looked at her boyfriend, and sighed. "Mom's never really admitted what I am. In her mind, she can explain what's 'wrong with me', so there's no reason for me to be labeled a freak like everyone else. They're just... stuck in their ways. Can you be like mutant racist? Speciest? I don't even know what term you could use. Suppremists? Whatever they are, they think mutants are unnatural, but it's hard to thin kthat way if you gave birth to one."
She smiled slightly and shrugged though. "Don't feel bad you couldn't fix it though. It was a nice thought to try. I know it's not really into the Christmas spirit and all, but I don't need them around for it to be a good holiday. We got everyone here at the mansion. Plenty of trouble we can still get in on our own." She smiled.

Evelyn just ruefully shook her head. It was hard to feel sad or upset with the situation. She was at the point with them where she expected little, so the results weren't entirely surprising at this point.
"I doubt my parents could ever really keep us out of any building. They can barely guard their own liquor cabinet." She smirked. Okay, maybe she was letting Mirror off easily. Inwardly, there was the faint concern about other lasting consequences, like her work and around town. She didn't want to break in to places for the rest of her life, but maybe they would let it go.

Evelyn had to resist face palming as Gawain spoke. While she understood the methods behind his actions, her own personal understanding of her parents told her just how bad the idea had been. She was lucky Gawain wasn't in jail or worse right now. Knowing her parents, they were looking at some type of legal actions they could take against her boyfriend. But she stayed calm and focused on the meaning behind it. Gawain just wanted her to be with her family for Christmas. Best intentions.
..."I think I broke his nose."
At that, Evelyn started laughing. It started as a tittering giggle then burst into a laugh until she buried her face in her hands in embarrassment. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't laugh, but I wish I could have seen his face....I always warned him he's push someone too far. I hope they don't retaliate, but...I'm glad you stood up to them." Evelyn finally remarked.

Evelyn just stared, and her emotions went from one end of the spectrum to another. She was annoyed he decided to confront her parents, touched he was trying to help, and embarrassed he made such a mess of it. Slowly she shook her head and sighed, rubbing her forehead. The echoes were picking up too much on his guilt, and it made it hard to really feel upset about anything.
"Well, you meant well, but I could have told you it wouldn't work. They aren't exactly...open minded. I'm sure you can think of some other colorful terms for them." She sighed, and grimaced. [col.or=65C6C3]"And how exactly did the punching happen?"[/color] She dared ask.

Evelyn blinked slowly as she processed the information. The room was silent in the meantime. It was unusual for Evelyn to take so long responding, considering how fast her brain processed things, but the news took her off guard. At first she wanted to laugh, then she felt concerned, but in the end she just blinked and tilted her head to the side.
"Maybe you should explain the whole story...first." She finally remarked. At least then she'd know whether to laugh or cry.

Evelyn considered the two options: Gawain's room with chance of roommate possibly arriving, or hers with an evil foxsquirrel that could wake up at any moment. She motioned towards her room. As they walked, she tried to work out what was going on. But even the echoes couldn't piece together a) broken hand, b) suit, c) Gawain's embarrassment. Whatever he did, it seemed bad. At least bad enough to make Gawain this upset.
As they walked in, she sat on the bed and crossed her arms, preparing for the worst.
"So, spill. How mad should I be at you?" She remarked.

Evelyn fiddled with the com, fighting for a signal, and nodded to Sveta. "You boys done flirting so we can get out of here, or are you busy making friends still?" She commented into the mike. As they started moving again, the sound got a little fuzzy, then it cleared again once they reached the stairs. She really needed to invest in stronger equipment.
"Lets see how they answer. Our luck Sam hit on the wrong girl's boyfriend." She joked. Not that Sam would, right?

..."how's your day going?"[/b]
"Long... did some training in the danger room, wandered in on my boyfriend beating up the walls in the mansion in a suit...so I guess it's getting interesting." She remarked with a raised eyebrow. Her frown deepened as she glanced at his hand.
"Something tells me your day was more interesting though..."
They reached the infirmary so further explanation was temporarily put on hold while Doc Prof yelled/healed Gawain. Something about self-inflicted injuries, should just leave it...avoiding permanent damage was important though, so begrudgingly he healed the mirrorwalker.
