The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

So, here's what we have thus far. All we need now is people who are currently in the factions to volunteer to help these folks out with threads. Post here, send these hopefuls a PM, or nab them on the cbox to get threads started!
Order: Need to get to the Sanctuary – Shade, Warren Peace (Feel free to have your characters hear about the Sanctuary as a place for free room and board for mutants, or perhaps rumors about the mafia-style goings on in their territory, or just wander over and knock on the door.) Need a recruitment thread – Vicente, Garrett, Lydia, Aurion Kabal transfer, need to be informed of switch over – Martin, Zephyr
X-men: Need threads with Xs – Granny, Andrew, Kate F-H Training Sessions - Andrew Need tryouts for trainee – Kat, Kate F-H Need a recommendation – Mirror Other – Jorge (thread with CS to make him a liason to the X-men)
NYPD: Get trained as a beat cop – Muse (?) X-men deputized for police work - Muse (?)
This thread is intended as a check in to see who is interested in the three factions and find out what help people need to join them. We would like to see more colorful names in that info center!
As a reminder, these are the joining requirements:
To become a Junior X-men (X-kid) a character must:
To become an X-men Trainee a character must:
To become a full X-man a character must:
How to Join the Order
[/i], will become a member of the family. Lori Faust, a.k.a. Charge, is the woman to speak with about joining the Order. You may, of course, speak with any Order member about joining. If you know who the right people are, that is.
An Order member will through various, undetermined tasks have to pass judgment before becoming a proper member of the family. Once we are sure you can be trusted, the title is yours. So what if you needed a little polishing before you shine just right?
Loyalty is key. We cannot have spies running amuck in our lovely home and blood traitors will be broken.[/ul]
(Basically, you need a recruitment thread with a current order member.) [/quote]
How to Join the NYPD
It takes hard work to make it as an NYPD officer, and dedication to join the ranks of the MRC detectives. There are three routes you can take:
1) Join the NYPD as a beat officer. After a year, if your character’s track record makes them stand out from the herd, they can be given a shot as an intern detective on the Mutant Related Crimes unit. Prove your stuff, and it won’t be long until you’re accepted by the old timers. Using this track, your character will gain the NYPD Faction status immediately as they work their way up the ranks. (Your character must be at least 21 to be a beat cop; this is the minimum age to join the NYPD.)
2) Join the X-Men, and be deputized for police work. A year of deputy work assisting the police can stand in for a year of beat cop work; your character can then join the MRC as an intern, like in the first option. (Your character must be at least 21 before they can begin their internship.)
3) Make a character who already has a cop background. They can either be a beat cop who’s just climbing up the ladder to the MRC, or a seasoned vet transferring in from another detective unit elsewhere in the city or country. While this is the quickest way to join the MRC, please keep in mind that the Mods will judge how well your character would fit in at the MRC before accepting it. This route is recommended for second/third/etc characters whose players have had time to learn the ropes at MRO and research how the current MRC Detectives handle their threads. (Your character must be at least 23; older is better, for realism. In RL, it usually takes several years for a beat cop to move up to Detective.)
Please fill out the following, if you are interested in joining a faction:
Character name: Current affiliation: Faction interest: What do you need to do next to join?:
We're hoping to have some tryouts for the X-men and Order factions soon, so please let us know what you need so we can help you get ready!

Congrats WereCat! My best to you and Ayesac and your little one!
On my end: I've also been very distracted as of late. School continues ever on, but the end is in sight: June 7th I believe.
Also, Jay and I are settling into our new house; unpacking boxes, hanging pictures, and evicting the mice that didn't realize they were supposed to move out. (I think we've convinced them all now. We haven't caught any for a few days now.) We are loving the house, the neighborhood, and not having to walk the dog outside in below zero temperatures four to five times a day. Not that it is that cold anymore.
I miss you all! I can't wait until life settles down and I actually have the energy to post again.

Congrats to Andrew, winner for last month!
Sorry for getting this up late, everyone. We'll be accepting nominations for MotM until the 21st of December. Please choose one person that you think has really excelled above and beyond their norm in the month of November and include your reasons why you picked them!
An update: 9 days left until my wedding! And then a honeymoon! And then final grades for the quarter are due! Basically, things continue to be busy and shall be for awhile.
We are having someone video the wedding, unfortunately I won't be able to broadcast it live. Some digital version will be available at some point down the road, though, so anyone who is dying to see it... I'm afraid you'll have to wait a little longer.
