MRO is an intermediate to advanced writing level original character, original plot X-Men RPG. We've been open and active since October of 2005. You can play as a mutant, human, or Adapted— one of the rare humans who nullify mutant powers by their very existence. Goodies, baddies, and neutrals are all welcome.

New on MRO
Please give your congratulations and support to Sennyo and Thoth, our newest Mods! Thank you to everyone else who stepped up to volunteer for the Moderator duty, as well. It's good to see how many people care for this site.
Please send your thoughts to our members Iris/Neena and Sonya as they continue their RL recoveries from serious health problems, and to Abyss/Mr.O, who had to leave us for RL reasons.
We've got a Newb Guide to How the Moderators Work, for those of you who occasionally forget who we are, or want to learn the mysteries of the Mod Board and the MutantRevolver account.
n00b has overhauled the FAQs board and condensed everything into a convenient Newb Guide to Commonly Asked Questions. Topics from the former Newb Guide to the Miscellaneous have also been posted there, for your all-in-one-place convenience.
Been wondering how to get those elusive Attribute Points? Check out the Attributes Guide for info, as well as newly clarified guidelines for submitting training threads for points.
Both the "Freaky Friday, MRO-style" and the "Mutation v. Adaption" plots have been approved for play by the Plot Mods; the latter will start up this January as a long-running plot line, and the former is slotted for some quick-burst summertime fun. You can always check out the Newb Guide to MRO History to check on upcoming, present, and past plots.
We've made like an old-fashioned Japanese household and cleaned up the site in time for New Years. Some OOC boards have been combined, other boards have been wiggled around to places that fit 'em better, and the Archive board has been brought out of its clandestine corner on the Character Profiles board and put on the main page. Bet you didn't even know we had an Archives board. Feel free to use that lovely convenient space to keep track of the threads your character has been in.

Looking for an open thread, or advertising one of your own? Check out the aptly named RP Requests and Open Threads thread. Its threadtastic levels of threadtasticity have been rated as over 9000. It's pegged as an announcement at the top of every board, so don't worry about losing the link.
Proboards occasionally gets struck by lightning and LIGHTS ON FIRE. Kid you not: this happened last spring, and lead to several days of server outages. No data got lost back then. Nonetheless, the Mods feel it prudent to remind you that saving a copy of your character's profile and your favorite threads to your hard drive, flash drive, e-mail account, what-have-you, is a good idea. Remember, boys and girls: it's better to be safe and paranoid than to be typing @#$%!!!11 into the keyboard with your forehead as everything you've worked so hard on goes up in a FIERY SERVER INFERNO. Just for the record, if MRO ever burns to a completely irrecoverable crisp, you'll get an e-mail at the address you registered your account under telling you where the new site address is. If you've changed your e-mail address since signing up here, please drop a quick note with your new e-mail address at the MutantRevolver@yahoo.com account.

We've updated the boards a bit.
Main changes include: - The "Mutant Revolution Online", "Rules", and "Join" boards have all been combined into "Mutant Revolution Online: Rules & Application" - OOC FanFic and FanFic have been combined into one board - "Idle Chat" and "Talk about whatever" have been combined into just "Idle Chat", located in the "Outside of MRO" category at the bottom of the board - The Archives board has been moved out of its hiding spot on the Character Profiles board, and placed on the main page below its former home.
Other than that, there have just been slight re-orderings and name changes to make things more logical. Please poke around a bit, and get familiar with the new layout! Note: none of the IC RP boards were affected, and no threads were deleted; they were just moved.

Attention MROers! The Mod Team has just gained two new members.
The first should come as no surprise: the player of Ghost and Lori. She joined us during last Winter's Registration Act, and quickly became one of our most active members, both IC and in the Cbox. Her wit, level head, and clear dedication to the site are among the reasons she was chosen. Ghost's Mod name will be Sennyo; in kanji that's 仙女, which means fairy, nymph, or elf in Japanese.
The second has only been with us since this Fall, but is quickly proving himself to be as addicted to this site as the best of us. Luke's creativity in directing the plot, talent for creating compromises that leave both sides better off, and eternally welcoming presence in the Cbox speak for themselves. Luke's Mod name will be Thoth, after the Egyptian god of wisdom, mediation, and counseling.
Please give your warmest congratulations and support to Sennyo and Thoth.

As some of you know, the player of Iris, Neena, and Amp/Vibe is currently in the hospital for her heart. She has requested that her characters be written out of threads and/or given a reason for their sudden absence around the site.
If you must refer to her characters IC, you can use these reasons for their absence: - Neena is off in another state, picking up a new student for the Mansion; it's a complicated case, so she'll be gone for awhile. - Iris is visiting her Aunt and Uncle. - Amp/Vibe are off having fun, probably using their share of the Fort Knox earnings, possibly in a tropical location with good shopping opportunities.
With regards to managing the Mansion/X-Men: - Cold Steel, Raina, and others will continue to help with greeting new players IC at the Mansion, and settling them in. - Calliope and Historian will take over the responsibilities of planning IC missions for the X-Men, and will relay them through either an NPC or off screen "messages from Neena".
If you are currently in a thread with one of her characters, you can handle it one of two ways: 1) Put the thread on hold until her return. 2) Write her character out of the thread (God Modding permission towards this end has been approved; just don't hurt her characters in any way--have her get a phone call, or some such, and she leaves to the room to take it). The Mods will trust the players of these threads to discuss it amongst themselves, and determine which option makes the most sense for the thread in question.
If you are the praying sort, please send your prayers her way. Get well soon, Iris. We'll be waiting for you. *hugs*
