The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Regan hopped down off of the gate and landed gracefully on all fours with barely a sound. Standing straight up, she was just shy of 5’6”. She was wearing a dark forest green tank top and a pair of faded blue jeans. Dusting her furry hands off on her jeans, she took Jacob’s hand and shook it firmly looking up at him with her emerald eyes. “Tis a pleasure.” Her Irish tones were soft and kind.
Jumping as the car suddenly roared to life, Regan let out a slight hiss and all the fur on her tail fluffed up. Looking at Jacob when he explained that he was a mutant as well, she quirked a brow and tilted her head to the side, her hooped earrings clinked against the studs in her feline ears as she did. “A little warning would have been nice.” She grumbled and took her tail into her clawed hands to try and smooth out the fur. Her eyes widened when he mentioned the plane. “We have a plane? Where on god’s green earth do we have place for a plane?”
Regan was completely puzzled as to where there would be a plane on the grounds; there was no hanger or runways, just green grass, the pool and the other various things that were all over the grounds, but no runway. Regan looked at Mariusz with wide green eyes, “Did you know about the plane?”
Regan noticed how quickly Serena had changed the subject, and being the polite feline that she was taught to be, she didn’t push the topic. Instead she joined in with the change, “Well I was just hired on as the gardener and grounds keeper so I’m usually outside or in the greenhouse. More so the greenhouse now since its winter though. If you would like to learn about plants you are always welcome to come and see me there.”
Regan stopped for a second to turn and help Serena over a large branch in the snow so she wouldn’t trip, “Careful there right in front of you, there’s a branch, here take my hand.” Regan extended her clawed and furry hand for Serena to take.
“Other than working on the plants, I’m either excising or maybe reading. I’m pretty quiet really. What do you like to do?” she smiled at Serena and then started leading her back towards mansion once again.
Regan smiled softly “Well that is good that you haven’t had any of them broken, I couldn’t imagine trying to put shattered bones back together again.” There were just steps away from the office door and Regan stopped to look up at Mariusz with her emerald eyes. “Well here we are Mariusz, the admitting office. Here you can get singed up to a room and find out about those teaching positions you were talking about. They will also be able to answer a lot of questions that I can’t.”
“The mansion really does take care of everything for us, we are lucky in many ways to have the mansion and the people who run it to take care of us who need it.” Regan rocked on her feet a few times and smiled, “Well I guess this is where I leave you, unless you need anything else? Though I think the desk can help you with all of that. It was nice meeting you Mariusz, I hope you like it here at the mansion.”
“Well we are almost there; I can just make out the lights of the mansion in the distance.” They were making pretty good timing. They would most likely be able to get there in the next ten minutes or so if they kept this pace. Regan easily could have ran from one end of the woods to the other in just a few minutes if she was on all fours, but Serena was just a little too tall to be able to ride on Regan’s back.
“I bet some of the teachers at the school could help you learn some defensive skills or to help you used you powers better.” Regan shrugged her shoulders a bit, not really sure what else to say about power control. She wasn’t the best person to ask for help in that aspect seeing as she was barely able to control her own powers most days.
Turning the key to lock up the Greenhouse for the night, Regan stretched out her neck from spending the last few hours repotting plants that had been left unattended for slightly too long and the roots were getting damaged badly. She turned and started heading down the path towards the mansion to get cleaned up when her heightened hearing heard a snapping sound and then a thud. Looking up she noticed that Mariusz was flying around doing some archery on the grounds.
She watched him for a bit as he flew around gracefully in the air. “That must be a nice power.” She said quietly to herself. Regan was just about to stop watching and head inside when she noticed him shift direction and head for the front gate. Her eyes followed him easily to his destination; he was now standing by a black car out front. They were slightly out of rage of her feline hearing to hear clearly, so she thought she’d go and investigate in case Mariusz needed a hand.
Regan got down on all fours and started to quickly run across the lawn towards the gate, her long tail extended to keep her balance as she ran. As she approached the gate, she leapt off of the grass and landed on the Iron Gate; pulling her body up to she could perch between the gaps at the top. She perched there in a squatting position with her clawed hands on the gate by her combat boots. Her long tail twitched to keep her balance.
The white tigress with green stripes and vibrant red hair looked over at Mariusz with her emerald eyes and gave him a nod. “Hey is everything alright over there? Who is this?” Regan looked at the other man who had stepped out of the car. He was even taller than Mariusz; she was starting to feel like a pipsqueak around the adult males of the mansion, which wasn’t really a bad thing.
Glad that the boy had brought extra clothes, Regan breathed a small sigh of relief. It was getting darker by the minute out here and he wouldn’t have made it far at all in those baggy clothes. She started to wonder what a child was doing out in the woods alone anyways, that wasn’t safe even without her prowling around the woods.
Frowning slightly, Regan did as Clyde had asked of her. She backed up a few more feet and turned around so that her back was to him. She twitched her ears back in his direction so that she could listen in case he needed something. Folding her arms over her chest, she shifted her weight onto her right leg, her tail twitching randomly as she waited.
“So Clyde, what are you doing running around in the woods yourself?” she finally questioned to break the silence, maybe some small talk would help? Regan was so terribly oblivious to the social norms of people. She did try her best though, “Father” had always told her to be polite to others, but given that she never spent any time around people growing up other than Shamus and her “Father”, her skills were very limited. She wondered what else she could do to make amends with Clyde.
Regan couldn’t help but frown slightly when Mariusz mentioned his hallow bones. “That must be very inconvenient for you. Have you ever broken any?” She was very curious about this one drawback to his mutation. Regan had her bones broken many times over the years with Shamus while trying to escape her cage. He always had a doctor to reset them, but more than once they had healed up faster than the doctor could get there and they had to break them again, it wasn’t something she liked to remember and it made a shiver run up her spine.
Sighing at the mention of the different people that were slaughtered for no reason other than being different, Regan thought of all the mutants that were here at the mansion and how most of them were children. “It’s such a waste of life. I wish everyone could just get along, but people fear what they don’t understand.”
Turning left down the last hallway, the pair were almost at their destination. “The rooms are fully furnished with a bed, dressers, a desk, sofa or arm chairs, and a nightstand. It’s set up so that you can just come in and be at home. It’s nice for those that come here with nothing because they are runaways or have been kicked out of their homes. You will be able to just go in, put your things away and enjoy.”
Making sure to keep on a clear path so that Serena wouldn’t trip on anything in the dark, they made their way through the snowy woods. She was glad that she had been able to help the girl in a pretty scary time, and for the first time in a long time, Regan had been able to keep relative control over the sabre tooth. She was quite proud of herself right now.
“I’m doing fine Serena; it should be almost healed up by the time we get back to the mansion I think. How is your arm doing?” she was concerned about that wound, it had bled a lot and Regan wasn’t sure if Serena had healing abilities like she did. “I’m glad we made it through that relatively unscathed though, it could have ended much worse. Let’s just hope those guys don’t remember us. Luckily for me I don’t think that anyone would believe them that a sabre tooth tiger attacked them.” She said with a chuckle.
Catching her breath, Regan wiped her mouth with the back of her furry hand and then cleaned it off in the snow. Well that was lovely moment of pure embarrassment, but at least she was starting to feel better. The taste of stomach bile was still present in her mouth, grabbing a handful of clean snow, she put it in her mouth and then spat it back out again. It helped a little.
A thud sound made Regan look up from the bush and over at the boy who was now face first in the snow. She heard his mumbled frustration and sighed. Regan stood up and walked over to him; she scooped him up under his arms from behind and helped him stand upright again. “Do you have some smaller clothes to wear with you? I don’t think you are going to be able to get out of the woods by morning wearing those.”
Backing up from the boy so as not to freak him out more then she already had, Regan tried to think of some way to try and prove that she didn’t mean him anymore harm. Maybe if she introduced herself? “My name is Regan, what’s your name if you don’t mind me asking?” She still felt horrible for what she had done, but she wanted so desperately to make things right, and she was determined to do just that.
Regan couldn’t help but chuckle as Mariusz kept a straight face while commenting about avoiding cats. “Well you don’t need to worry about this cat Mariusz. No offence, but I prefer seafood to poultry, and besides, you have way too many feathers to pluck.” She giggled with a clawed hand to her maw. Regan thought about his comment about cats having nine lives for a moment before replying, “Well I guess that is how we get our nine lives, by healing through the things that should have killed us.”
Nodding as Mariusz agreed about the teaching of the younger mutants, “I think it is a wonderful idea myself, there are too many people out there that would love to use lack of control as an excuse to have us all locked up or destroyed.”
Regan shook her head in response to the first question, “I’m not a student here, I’m actually the gardener and groundskeeper here at the mansion, I have a bit of talent with plants and I like to be outside so it works for me. As for my age, I honestly don’t know how old I am, I believe I’m roughly 20 years old, but I’m not sure.” She gave him a small smile and then continued to answer his questions, “I don’t believe that they have a teacher for those subjects here yet, but I’m sure that the desk clerk can find that out for you. We are almost there, one more hall to go. This place is so massive, it’s easy to get lost.”
Regan’s eyes widened when Serena told her that she thought she was beautiful. No one had ever said that to her before, well no one other than her “Father” anyways. “Oh…. Why thank you.” She wasn’t really sure what to say.
Looking around the woods with her enhanced feline vision, Regan figured out which direction they had to head in to get back home. “I love the woods, safest way for me to get around and I like that very few people are ever in them, but company can be nice too.” She smiled back at Serena and started to head in the direction of the mansion, “Here follow me, I can see clearly in the dark, I’ll make sure your path is clear of any hazards.”
The night was getting pretty crisp and the girls were still quite a walk from the mansion. Regan’s fur would keep her warm, but she wondered how Serena was doing. “Are you warm enough Serena? I can give you my sweater if you need it.”
Still sobbing on the ground, Regan wiped the tears from her eyes with the back of her furry hands. Hearing the boy finally saying something to her made her look up at him. Sniffling and choking back tears, Regan tried to speak. “I’m sorry; I promise I won’t do it again. I…. I didn’t mean to a-attack you!”
She flopped her hands limply in her lap and looked down at them while trying to catch her breath. “I wasn’t attacked. I was s-shifted into my feral f-form for a run. I…. I lose some control when I d-do that. I came to the w-woods to stay away from people so I wouldn’t hurt anyone.” Her lower lip started to quiver as she started to cry again “But I almost killed you!”
Regan had not been this distraught about something in god knows how long. She had almost killed a child and it was tearing her up inside. She wanted to eat him just minutes ago, to tear him apart, piece by piece. Suddenly she felt ill. Popping up on her hands and knees, Regan quickly turned to vomit in a bush.
Smiling softly, Regan accepted Serena’s apology for the mini lecture. “It’s alright, I was raised in a cage, my social skills are rather lacking for the most part.”
Serena was from the mansion as well? Well that was convenient! Regan was pretty new around the mansion herself, but she spent very little time actually inside the mansion, and when she did she tried to avoid most contact with people. “Well that is good that we are headed in the same direction! I am pretty new to the mansion myself, I’ve only been there a few days, but I tend to keep to myself and avoid being seen." Regan shrugged her shoulders a little, “It’s a tiger thing I guess.”
Returning Serena’s smile with one of her own, Regan nodded. “As long as you don’t mind walking back through the woods, I don’t like to be in public view.” She sighed a little, “I’m sure you can see why.” Regan looked down as one of the men was starting to make a few moaning noises, “Come on we better get out of here before these jerks wake up!”
Regan chucked softly as he started to talk about his mutation not being geared to a single animal like hers was. She had to stop in the hallway for a moment and look him in the eye. Mariusz was obviously very intelligent, but he was not very observant. “I’m sorry, I don’t mean to interrupt you, but how many white tigers do you know that have bright green stripes?” she said with a grin as she pointed her stripes out.
She snickered at his little bird pun and shook her head at him; at least he had a sense of humor. “That was a good one, bravo to you sir.” She smiled softly and then continued to listen to him name off his different aspects of his mutation. She giggled as he wiggled his clawed toes in the air and she decided to do the same with her own clawed feet, though her feet looked human, just covered in fur and cat like claws where her nails should be. “I have my own little set of abilities as well. You have seen the fur and claws, as well as fangs. I have enhanced hearing, sight, and smell, as well as twice the physical capabilities of a regular tiger. I also have enhanced healing, which sure comes in handy as a cat!”
Nodding once again to his question, Regan turned to start heading back in the direction of the admitting office, “Yes it is as well a school. They have teachers that teach the regular things you would learn in school, but they also teach the children about their powers, how to use them and control them safely so that if and when they decide to leave the mansion, they don’t go around hurting people.”

Regan flattened her ears on her red hair and frowned as she was quickly corrected by Serena. “Sorry.” She squeaked out under her breath. Feeling awkward as she always did around people, she started to fidget her clawed fingers together and shifted her weight a few times before cracking a small smile when Serena started to giggle at her comment.
Regan was taken aback slightly by the once again direct tone that Serena had. “Umm, I live at the mansion right now. Where do you live? I can walk you home if you would like, I wouldn’t want anyone else to try and jump you again.” She looked at Serena with genuine concern in her eyes.
